Surprisingly nice and good food! We got breakfast plate and a cheese burger. The breakfast plate came with French toast, eggs and sausage (choose of bacon or sausage). The sausage was a very good, and some at the table said it quite possibly was the best breakfast sausage they ever tasted. The cheese burger was good too. It was cooked perfectly, still juicy, and had a beefy flavor. The fries is a trio of shapes including a cork screw, waffle and a shoestring. Surprisingly, the waffle fries were also cooked perfectly, crunchy on the outside, cooked and perfectly soft on the inside. The staff did a great job, and serving time was also appropriate for having food made to order. . Something to note is the restaurant is in a casino building that allows smoking. This is totally normal for casinos around the world, where patrons smoke while they play. There was a cigarette smoke and casino air freshener smell in the air of the restaurant, You are going to have this type of air in most any casino. My room was not bad at all. It was clean and the bed was relatively comfortable. My only real issue is with the size of the pillows (see images). For a king-sized bed, you'd think they would be a little bigger. Casino was also nice with a wide variety of games. I prefer video poker, which they had plenty to choose from. I guess I'm surprised by the low ratings on Yelp; my experience was pleasant. Bottom line is I would stay here again. read more

The service was fantastic. Bridget was one of the best servers I've had. The restaurant was very nice. Clean, inviting and perfect location to the hotel. The food!!! I had the Reuben with fries. The Reuben was huge but the corn beef was chopped like hash. I didn't like that. The fries were inedible. Truly the worst I've ever had even from a fast food restaurant. To me it seems like they were cooked once before and they tried to bring them back to life by frying them a second time. They were so hard I could not eat them. Bridget was so wonderful I could not complain to her, in just didn't eat them. The next morning we had breakfast and it was very good. Hotel and Casino Review Hotel was clean but unless you are a high roller or part of their club, don't expect they will be nice and give you a later checkout without paying $25/hour extra. Casino: The casino was clean and the dealers were friendly....hey there Channing!!!! But the non-smoking part of the casino was closed. Boo. On that note, why do most casinos put the non-smoking areas in places where you have to walk through the smoking areas get to them? I like that they still have a $5 Blackjack table. I bet more than $5 but I like the option of $5. As for the slot machines, boo. If you are a person who loves the huge and bright towering screens, you are in luck because the majority are that style. I don't enjoy those so for me, boo. And I wish they had the "wheel of Fortune game but they didn't. They have a few old school poker machines that I like. Here's a bit of false advertising...a penny machine with a 50 cent advertised minimum bet requires an .80 cent buy-in. Oh, they have vending machines to cash in your ticket but it doesn't dispense coins so your ticket must be a whole dollar amount to be paid in full. This is absolutely the worst casino experience that I have ever seen at Harrahs Council Bluffs. I checked in to this hotel on Tuesday January 26th, 2021. as a hotel guest staying here at Harrahs Council Bluffs There is only one table operational and there is a line waiting of four people for the tables to play blackjack. the pit boss is just standing around there is another employee at the pai gow poker table with no one at his table for over 35 mins. Thomas the pit boss said this was normal at this casino and they were short staffed with employees due to Covid. If I would have known this I would have picked a different casino to stay at this is the second day in a row that this has happened and I'm waiting to gamble. I then contacted the hotel front desk manager to address my concerns and his attitude appeared like he didn't care but said that he would talk to the casino manager. read more

While this doesn't compare to other Harrah's properties which are much nicer (like Funner, California and New Orleans, LA), it was decent and we would stay here again. Parking - plenty of free parking in the lot in front as well as the covered structure. If you're a Diamond member, there is a special section in the structure that you can park in. We couldn't get the parking card to work though so we just parked with the regular folks. ;) Cleanliness- not great. There was a hair on the toilet seat when we arrived (gross) and the carpets didn't appear to have been cleaned in a while, but it wasn't horrible either. The casino also wasn't particularly clean (the kiosk screens were visibly dirty) and over the four days were were there, I only saw someone cleaning once-- and they weren't wiping down the machines. However, the ashtrays were emptied quickly and there were no bottles or glasses lying around. Rooms - typical sized rooms (we did not get a suite) with a soda machine that sells just Pepsi and Dasani on each floor. Ask for a room overlooking the river as it's a much better view. Casino - overall, it's small and didn't have the newest machines that other Harrah's properties have, but they did have a very small non-smoking section with slots. Diamond members get free drinks at the bar (one every fifteen minutes) but they were considerably weak compared to drinks at other Harrah's properties. If you're not a Diamond/Seven Stars, bottled beer was $6. Venue - if you're coming to see a concert here, the venue is really nice. All outdoors, and well organized with access to bathrooms and a smoking area. Restaurants - there are three. The 360 Steakhouse is terrific. Located on the 12th floor, it has a great view of the river and Omaha and the food and service was terrific. You can make a reservation through Opentable as well. This restaurant is connected to the Vertigo bar which also offers a dining menu. Both open at 5pm. There is a little diner style restaurant that serves typical breakfast, lunch, and dinner fare as well as a nice selection of pastries, cookies, and sweets. During the week, the breakfast menu is limited to only a ham and cheese croissant and a breakfast burrito from 8-10am, but they serve the full breakfast menu on the weekends. Service here was terrific and the food wasn't anything special, but was good. Slice is the pizza restaurant that was formerly the Spice Buffet (now closed) but they seem to close it during the week when there aren't as many guests staying in the hotel. We didn't try it. You can use points for all the mentioned restaurants without paying tax. Location - the hotel is on the Iowa side of the river, and is about a ten minute drive to the Old Market in Omaha. The Old Market has lots of great little shops, bars and restaurants (Gather in Omaha is our fave and worth trying) and Dolci is a great place to buy some cookies or ice cream. There is a farmers market in the Old Market on the weekends. Security - security at the hotel and casino was always present. This hotel, even though it's smaller than other Harrahs properties, seemed to have more accessible and attentive security guards. Diamond/Seven Stars perks - aside from the parking area (which didn't work for us) and the cashier line inside the casino, there were no special lines at check in or any of the restaurants for Diamond/Seven Stars members. read more

We booked a room the night before our flight thinking we would gamble a little and get a good nights rest before going to the airport in the morning. We returned our rental car and took an Uber to the hotel. Check in was smooth and the hotel pretty empty. We thought this was because the holiday weekend was ending. Fast forward to 4 am when we tried to take showers and the water was freezing. I showered very quickly and left water on for my husband which never heated up. My husband called the front desk and was informed the water went out the day before! Why the heck were we not told when we checked in or why did they allow anyone to check in without any hot water? Not the way I wanted to start a long flying day. Overall the hotel was ok but without hot water I wouldn't recommend paying expensive Uber rides if you are flying. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. FILTHY. We stayed here for the Iowa Is For Lovers Festival. The convenience of having a room there was great, however the room was filthy. The bath tub was disgusting, the shower head had mold on it. The water pressure was awful. The night stands and counters had dust and cobwebs. The a/c barely worked, so our room was hot all night. The hallway outside of our room was colder than our actual room. The rooms are extremely outdated. The staff we encountered checking in & checking out was unfriendly. The price we paid for our room, I was expecting a lot cleaner place. The icing on the cake, we checked out, only to be surprised by service/resort fees. The amount of money they charge to stay there and the condition of the rooms should be criminal. If you're going to pay a premium price, I would expect to get a premium room for that. Not some outdated, moldy, filthy room. If I ever come back for another concert, I will be staying somewhere else. read more

This is probably one of the cleanest hotel rooms that I've ever stayed in. Everything was meticulously clean. I can be a little over the top when there are short cuts taken by the housekeeping staff, but this room was spotless! It's in a great location on the Iowa side of the river, just a short drive to downtown Omaha. I actually wasn't that impressed! Especially for a casino! I had to WAIT AND WAIT to even be acknowledged to ask for a luggage cart. Then I got the crappiest cart ever that wouldn't turn to save it's life. Elevators are very quick. Almost too quick. Room was fine. Beds were comfy. Bathroom was actually a little dirty, especially down in the corners. Grime in the grout and the shower leaked all over the floor. We wasted towels on the ground so we didn't die getting out of the shower. Decent view from our room. Could see the river and Omaha skyline. The buffet sucks. Thank God mine was free. (I got a casino rewards card.) The buffet actually made me throw up later. Dessert was the only good part. Speaking of the rewards card, waiting in line to get one took SO long. It was like the women working there didn't know what they were doing. And I hate that the rewards are connected to an e-mail and an app you have to download. My uncle was pissed. He doesn't have an e-mail and I think I agree with him; it is kind of discriminatory that you must have an e-mail to get rewards. I like how Hard Rock just does it there. Stupid you have to have a smart phone. Casino floor was ok. Barely any games I recognized. Only 1 game really gave me anything at all. They do have free pop and coffee. I guess drink prices are ok. I hate the smoking thing, but every casino allows it. Just gotta deal with it. Stupid buffet. read more

I called about the data breach today and they couldn't really help except to give me an email and a phone number that is only Monday through Friday 6am-6pm PT. This just happened yesterday and when I asked how they are working to protect us they had no information at this location. The person provided the phone number and email and after hung up on me. Such a poor experience. How can one trust that they are looking out for us? Free credit monitoring should be required for at least a year when it's their mistake for allowing this to happen to reward members. I trusted them and now my information can be sold to anyone just like yours if you're a reward member. Check your information with the credit bureaus often this is going to be a long road to keep yourself safe because they obviously only care Monday through Friday 6am-6pm Pacific Time even though it just happened yesterday. They should be better prepared at all locations when something like this happens and not hang up on people since this has happened before as news articles have stated. I would never do that and I work in customer service. I'm no Karen but this time I don't mind asking for the manager it was pathetic how they are approaching this situation, if it was their information stolen they would care more. read more

I've had a few different experiences here. Some great, some not so great. But overall-- a good experience because of the folks who work there that made me feel welcomed as a guest. Our bathroom sink and tub was backed up, which made it frustrating to shower and brush our teeth, but maintenance did take a look at it our 2nd day there. Unfortunately it wasn't completely fixed, but I was still able t to shower and brush my teeth. I would have loved for us to have a microwave in the bedroom because it made going downstairs with food inconvenient but that just a personal opinion on convenience. I'll definitely visit again, not sure about renting a room for the weekend just because I feel the price each night is extreme for the low quality rooms. read more

My husband, his grandma, and I stopped in for supper and to toss some money away afterward. Food was ok but sub par for the price you pay. It was a bit bland and there limited choices. The casino was small and very smokey even the non smoking section had smokers sitting in it and it wasn't separated from the main casino and staff did nothing to remedy this. But that is part of being in a casino I guess. They had a good variety of machines. I just wish they were better laid or or labeled as to what price they cost (penny vs quarter machines). Cleaning staff kind of blocked you into the machines with their carts. Overall it was fun and security staff was nice. But overall I have had better experiences elsewhere. read more

We have stayed at this hotel for years and it has really gone downhill. The pet friendly rooms STINK. According to the rude front desk clerk that's because people don't take care of their pets. As a responsible owner of a well trained dog, I stayed in many nice hotel rooms with my dog and none smelled that bad. Also all the restaurants were closed. Only place to get food was a Mexican food truck! No where for breakfast in the morning either. They used to have a really nice Cafe. This used to be my stop while traveling I29 but I'll find a new location. read more

I stoped in here with some friends to try our luck. Smaller casino featuring a concert hall, diner and a buffet that keeps some pretty odd hours with days that are closed. This is a smoking casino but the smoke wasn't terribly overbearing like some. There was a separate section for no smoking but it was incredibly tiny and only had slots. The staff was actually pretty friendly for the most part. They offer a shuttle to the Horseshoe casino and it runs like every 30 minutes. The horseshoe was bigger, featured a lot more attractions and was a lot cleaner. read more

Harrah's, formerly Harvey's, has been here for a very long time and its starting to show a bit. Some of the facilities are starting to show their age. The buffet is pretty good as I can ALWAYS find something good to eat. The casino itself is okay. I don't seem to win as much as I generally do at Ameristar or Horseshoe though. The most disrespectful people I have ever met. 0 stars if I could. I went to file a formal complaint from the very rude hotel host and no sheets on the bed. After we adjusted from nothing they could do for us, we went back to the casino to salvage the night and they denied us entry with no cause. They said as a private business we have the right to deny entry. As a person who comes to Iowa quite often to gamble, and stayed two nights in their hotel with otherwise... standard, accommodations... we are very disappointed. Very hopeful for our "getaway" weekend at the casino that led to further disappointment. Absolutely will NOT gamble at this casino OR STAY and will burn my rewards card the moment I can. This is actually a pretty decent casino. There's a good selection of table games and slot machines. And the minimums aren't ridiculous. A lot of the staff are very nice. Drinks are only comped at table games (must play at least $10). Drinks are cut off at 2 AM. They literally come around and collect your drinks then. Whether you're done or not, you've got to hand it over. Cigarettes cost $10. And you, literally, aren't allowed to swear. Yeah, seriously. Don't dare drop an f-bomb here. WTF? read more

The website asked me my preferred check in time I wrote down 12pm, I got to the hotel they told me no earlier than 2pm so I sat in my car for 2 hours went back in, the said 20 more minutes, call us and we will get you checked in . Tried calling no answer, went in they said 20 minutes, this happened 3 more times. Once I finally got in, I was told they would comp me 11.20 off per day..went to check out and the room price had not changed at all. Bad service in the hotel. Restaurant and casino are fine. Can't believe I am the first to review this casino. It is hotel and is connected to a riverboat casino. The casino has three floors and each room is sized like every other riverboat casino I have been too. I liked using my Total Rewards Card. You can order drink service by pressing a button on your slot machine. And also offer free soft drinks with self serve stations. This really cut down on my wait time. Sometimes I wait forever in Vegas for Ms. Drink Server to take my order and come back with it. I always want to order a few drinks as I hate waiting. There are only about 30 video poker machines on premise. The third floor of the casino was closed for renovations. Actually a small portion of the first floor was closed off. I enjoyed my short stay in Iowa. The casino is located a mere 3 minute drive from downtown Omaha. It appears to be the most exciting place in the area. read more

Horrible and rude. They have turned their security into overzealous mask nazis. I watched them berate an older man, who didn't pull his mask up fast enough. Another employee interjected a conversation with my girlfriend. I was explaining what I saw. The employee let me know that if she wore a mask; then we would too. I don't mind the mask; but, the condescending, rude employees will prevent me from returning. I played their 4 wonders slot game ( beating $2.00 a spin).... After about 8 spins I got the bonus which surprised me cuz I couldn't even get a bonus on roughly 20 plus machines... anyhow I get the bonus & won 15 free spins...( just for getting the bonus I won $6.00).,, anyhow the game proceeds with the free spins and guess what I won....( yup you guessed it ) NOTHING!!! Not a single Penny....I did 2 more spins & yup bonus again same $6.00 for getting the bonus but what did I get in my 15 spins NOTHING & what makes it worse is it re-triggered making my spins now 30 & still won NOTHING on the spins,....... As far as how clean the room was I give them a 10 & the bed was amazingly comfortable... the hotel folks were great!!! But the casino I would say stay away & go to prairie Meadows if your looking for a place to play.... It's a much smaller casino but at least they let you play & don't suck up your money like crazy.... Another example is I played their stinking rich game... put in $100.00 was beating $1.25 and not one bonus AND NEVER HUT ANYTHING THAT PAID NOT EVEN 10 cents it took the whole $100.00.... This is such a disappointment after staying in the Las Vegas property. The casino here is very small. Almost like it was added as an afterthought. However, even with its small size, there are 2 bars and plenty of tables to play. The slots are mostly dated but still fun. The hotel is ok. I was surprised to see a shampoo/conditioner bottle, not one if each. And no lotion. My fiance wants to add, there were 4 pillows on the king bed, but were so flat they had to be folded to make one good one. Other than those problems, the staff in the whole facility was great. Friendly and lighthearted with every interaction. We will probably stay here again just because I am a Total Rewards member and I get decent offers for rooms. There are much better places to stay in the Omaha area. read more

Smokey due to low ceilings, cramped area, poor ventilation, malfunctioning machines; slow, untrained dealers, few tables open on a weekend, the food in the 360 was subpar. We were here for a slot tournament that was held at Horseshoe, but you had to stay at Harrahs and take a bus and find yourself stranded because they "say" they run all night and they really don't. They will, however, call a ride for you if you want. But all things considered, I wouldn't waste my time at these group of casinos. read more
