    Beach view- nice

This is not a resort, I repeat, this is NOT a resort. Service- checking in was easy and Cheryl was pleasant. Upgraded us to a balcony room on the side. Other areas of service lacked somewhat from the towel hut and pool area. Rooms- small and outdated, not very clean. Sheets are SUPER rough, Bathroom was tiny. Odd smell through like must. Location- lacked. Nothing nearby but the beach and one onsite restaurant that's not ranked great. Pool is a simple and outdated one, limited seating. Overall we didn't get the restful vibe we were looking for. Really lacked for the price. I would def pay a bit more for them overall experience and amenities next time. Confident to say we will never be back.

I'm only giving 2 stars because of the beach access & pool. The room was horrible. The first floor room had tile floors that were filthy. My husband wiped the bathroom floor because it was damp & the towel was black. The place is cute, staff was friendly. But the walls are paper thin in the hotel room. I thought someone left their phone in our room because the ringing was so loud. Nope, it was the room next door. I could hear them like they were in our room. The doors were thin & you could hear everything. People leaving their rooms, and slamming doors. Wheels from luggage in the hallway, cleaning people's carts. We were up all night. Not to mention the air conditioning which sounded like a jet plane taking off. There was a convention at the hotel, so people were outside of our room late into the night talking & drinking. We had to knock on the window to get them to leave. I'm sure they had no idea we could hear them. The pool was great & the semi private beach was amazing. We napped there by day since we were exhausted. It was a great location. 10-15 minutes to downtown. Walking distance to mini golf & ice cream. Hopefully they will remodel the rooms.

Great place to stay on the beach and the prices are great too. I think the thing I loved most about this place was the view from our room. Even though we were on the side of the building we had a partial view of the ocean. The patio off the room is great. The room is great and the bed and pillows are super comfy. The bathroom is little small but it did the job. The pool area is nice and has a bar to help quench your thirst. There is a gazebo and walkway right outside the pool area for access to the beach. The employees here are very friendly especially the bartender I encountered at the pool area. Thanks for the amazing pina coladas. We enjoyed this place a lot and we were looking forward to eating at their restaurant Santiago's after we realized this was one of the places I had saved on Yelp and it was literally inside the hotel. We didn't end up eating there though because it was empty and we were in the mood to go to a vibey place with music but from their reviews it looks great. I have no complaints about this place. It's conveniently located and has plenty of free parking and great amenities. Thanks for the great stay. We'll see you again the next time. Enjoy :)

This is the second year in a row I have attended the Give Kids the World Village annual fundraiser at this hotel on St. AUGUSTINE Beach. It is a fantastic hotel with wonderful staff who all pitch in to make this event a joy to attend. The hotel is very beach with plenty of beach style decorations and theming. They have a big gift shop on their lobby that sells all types of beach related gear and clothing. There is also a restaurant in the lobby for dining. Outside, there is a nice pool and a tiki bar, with plenty of tables for outside dining. I plan on attending this event for many years to come, and I also plan on supporting this hotel.

Walked right to the beach and saw these two chairs waiting for us.

The service here was absolutely amazing. There must be something in the water because every single worker I ran into had the most positive energy I've ever experienced! The rooms are a little old timey but with great water pressure. I would stay here again you can walk right on to the beach and also 15 minute drive to the main downtown center of St Augustine depending on traffic.

    Beautiful sunrise from the balcony

Wow so many Karen's in these comments. The resort is great! You can easily look at pictures of the place before you book to see what you're getting into. They're not hiding anything. The room was spotless. The walls are a little thin but that's most hotels. The restaurant downstairs isn't the best, but we enjoyed it and the convenience of having an option to eat in our hotel. The property itself is well maintained. The heated pool was fantastic. The staff were super friendly. Would stay again! I don't understand all of these bad reviews.

The resort is right on the beach and there is a short walk over a little bridge which is quite convenient from the hotel pool. The pool area includes a Tiki bar that overlooks the pool, property and the ocean. The exterior colors of the property are so vibrant and the pool bar has a Caribbean vibe. The pool water was so nice and warm, and stays open late. The hotel itself is ultra clean and the service was very efficient. The food at the restaurant was amazing! For breakfast, I got the Avocado Toast with eggs. For dinner, we got the Shrimp Po Boy, Shrimp and Grits and the Ceasar salad along with two different desserts. How amazing the New Orleans flavors! We were pleasantly surprised! We will definitely return.

Great view from our 5th floor balcony.

I would give this place 5 stars for location, 4 stars for service and 3 stars for the room itself. It is not really a resort but an older motel that was re-branded as a Guy Harvey Resort. If you are looking for a beach-front accommodation that won't break the bank, this might be ok. But don't expect a luxury resort. We reserved a 5th floor ocean view king and the view was awesome. Personally I would not want 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor room looking out to the pool area as you would have no privacy. 4th & 5th floor overlooking ocean are fine. But I would not want any other rooms here as they look out over the parking lots & neighboring buildings. The room itself was small & balcony is small but serviceable. The king room has a table w/ pull out lower level you can use to eat on & 2 bar stool/chairs that slide under. In addition to a kurig coffee maker it also had a mini-fridge & small microwave. The bathroom was small with a small walk-in shower. The room was clean and bed was comfy. This is a pet friendly place & you could hear dogs barking when you were in the hall but we could not heat them when we were in our room. There is a restaurant on the property but we did not eat there. Additionally they had a bar & grill out by the pool that generally shut down by around 6 or 7 pm. They had live music in the afternoons that also ended by 6-6:30ish. You can rent 2 beach chairs w/umbrella for $40/day.

Ocean view from room 520. The pool is at the end of the building.

Just checked in for a couple night stay. We won the stay at a silent auction at Endless Summer Run at Anastasia State Park. Always good to help a nonprofit organization. We have a partial ocean view with a small balcony and a couple of chairs. Perfect place for a glass or two of wine while enjoying the St Augustine Beach weather. More updates to follow. Plan to enjoy their happy hour in the restaurant (4 to 7). Also plan to eat dinner here - I'm thinking shrimp and grits.

The only thing that could possibly make it premier is the granite countertops and new cabients. Everything else is old and dated. Other people in our party stayed in other premier units that were so much nicer. The front bedroom blinds are broken, and we had to put up a sheet to keep out light at night. It still wasn't very dark. The oven door is slightly open when closed, so it's hard to bake anything. The kitchen tools and supplies are very outdated and of poor quality and mismatched. There were two coffee makers - an old one and a brand new one on the counter top -- I had to put one in a closet to get it out of the way. The closets are full of old stuff, so there's not much room for stuff like suitcaeses, etc. The blender is cracking so we could not use it. The sheets and towels are of very poor quality. The television in the front bedroom is tiny and we could never get it to work. All of the batteries were dead in the remotes, so we had to go buy some and replace them. Everything is limited -- one garbage bag, one small roll of toliet paper, and super cheap salt and pepper shaker. Most Airbnbs have the basic supplies to at least get you through the first couple of days. This one did not. If this had been labeled as a "classic" unit and was at that price point, I would have given it a 4. The unit itself could be very nice, but the owners would have to invest a little bit of money. The view is wonderful from the balcony, but the furniture is quite cheap and way to crowded. I would not recommend anyone renting this until until either it is reclassified as a classic unit and the price is lowered or until the owner brings it up to par with the premier units. The rest of the property is very nice, and the beach in this area is fantastic.

The rug in the condo had lots of disguting stains, the screen door to the patio was completely ripped so we could not leave it open. The dryer left rust stains on our clothes and the heat sensors on the dryer were not working. The ice maker was not working at all and it was turned to the "on" position. There were no batteries in the remote for the primary bedroom TV, we called and were told housekeeping would bring up batteries, they never showed up so we just ended up sharing a remote with the other bedroom. The primary bedroom doesn't have cable but the living room and secondary bedrooms do (make that make sense). We came back very late one night to someone parked in our assigned spot, we called security but he wasn't even on site (also make that make sense), so we parked in visitor parking and my husband left a note on the car stating to not park in our spot. Come to find out the next day the person who parked in our spot was housekeeping. Why is housekeeping there at 1:00 AM? And they should not be parking in spots that are reserved for guests who are renting. We also found out that housekeeping came into our condo without our permission! There is no housekeeping services, so please tell me why someone is allowed to enter without permission or knowledge? We found this out because we had a vacuum in the closet and we went to go use it and it was gone. My husband went down to the office to find out what could have happened and he was told housekeeping is allowed to enter!! I don't have proof unfortunately, but I have some very expensive makeup go missing!! It never left the bathroom and was there the night before all this happened. Hot water doesn't last very long and almost non existent after a few minutes. The grounds really need some help with clean up and landscaping. Leaves and brush keep falling into the spa's and the pools. Very disappointed in our stay and don't feel safe knowing people can just enter without knowledge.

NOT having a bathroom fav is unheard of at a resort. Each of these items, lack of adequate room lighting, and lack of bathroom fan, drops the rating one star. For the comfort of my family, I rate this a 3-star hotel. Hammock Beach Resort does not offer "resort-worthy" rooms in the Lodge. The beach is beautiful. Room views are lovely. From the outset, the resort was misleading about what we were purchasing. We booked what was clearly represented as a golf package. Upon arrival, we were told we did not have access to golf that day. Golf was a primary reason we selected this resort. Clear, accurate representation of packages is not optional at this price point. When a resort markets itself as a premier golf destination, transparency matters. The accommodations did not reflect the luxury image presented online. The villa was outdated and worn, amenities did not function properly (including a broken coffee maker), and we experienced repeated unnecessary disturbances from staff knocking and ringing the doorbell. The condition and service level were inconsistent with what was advertised. Even more troubling was the professionalism of a golf manager during our stay. This individual winked at my minor son in a way that was inappropriate and made both of us uncomfortable. Regardless of intent, that type of interaction with a child is unacceptable in a professional hospitality setting. When I calmly raised concerns about the golf package confusion, the condition of the villa, and the overall experience, management responded with deflection rather than accountability. I was even told I should have given advance notice regarding my son's disability and booked a "disability room." That comment demonstrates a serious lack of training in guest relations and ADA awareness. This is not about minor inconveniences. It is about misleading representations, unprofessional conduct, inadequate accommodations, and a failure of leadership to take responsibility when legitimate concerns are raised. At this price level, guests should not have to push repeatedly to be heard. Transparency, professionalism, and respect -- especially toward families and minors -- should be baseline standards. Corporate leadership should take a close look at how packages are marketed, how villas are maintained, and how staff are trained. What we experienced fell significantly short of what is promised.
