Great service, went above and beyond to get my car fixed and back on the road. I feel for this shops location, especially on Fridays. The mosque next door puts no mosque parking signs up in front of their shop since parking is atrocious around there. Unfortunately, even the non local congregants are super disrespectful. I went in to get a tire put on a custom rim and since I was there I asked them to check my other rims and balance them if needed first of all it took 5 guys to figure out how to put the rim on my truck second they laid the custom rim on cardboard and were jumping on the tire to pop it on third forgot to put the centric spacers on fourth they ripped off my weights and said they couldn't do the balance because rim was out of round not.ine but two where they are brand new I had to bring my own black weigths because they just ran out and over three hours later they said they can't balance them even thought they were already and.allni asked.was to check never put on weights left me with two rims jn balanced stated our people.and.machine are professional theybdont lie I asked them to reset the rim on the machine it looked on wrong gave me attitude then they still charged me for doi g something they said they couldn't there response was u till have to pay for there time wasted very not.professional rude and act.like there shit dont stink never ever going back and.dont waste your time there read more

Dropped my car off due to starting issues. Paid $100 for a diagnostic. They told me verbally (in person and over the phone) that it was the MAP sensor and quoted me $300 for the repair. I replaced the MAP sensor myself -- and of course, the problem wasn't fixed. Took it to another shop who found the real issue, completely unrelated to the MAP sensor. They had my car for 7 hours and never gave me an update -- I had to call twice to find out what was going on. When I brought up the misdiagnosis, they denied ever saying the MAP sensor was the issue or giving me a quote. Total gaslighting. On the invoice, they wrote "MAP sensor reading 14.55 with engine off" -- a completely normal reading. When I asked why that was included, they said "that's just what our scanner showed." So why include only that reading? They also wrote I came in to "check the starter" -- why would I pay $100 for something I can test for free at any parts store? And the front desk woman? Rude, dismissive, and acted like a clown when I questioned anything. Total waste of time and money. Avoid this place. read more

I have been using Guys Tire for a while now and have always had a good experience, however, today I took my car there to have my tires checked and when I pulled up into the garage a small car was furiously beeping at me to get out of the way so he could back out. Fine, I did, but in the long run it was a worker that was disrespectful and he was only taking the car out for what seemed to be a test drive. He had no manners . Had to get an inspection done this month and figured I'd get it done today. Went to the "regular" place that I go and got some story about having to leave my car. They were empty so it had nothing to do with being busy, so I asked. They said "oh your car is old so it takes longer". I told them that's ridiculous and I have never heard of such a thing!!! I told them I'm not leaving my car for an inspection! I happened to pass by Guys and went in, the girl at the counter was extremely pleasant, everyone was nice. I asked her how long it would take to inspect my 2007 CRV? They said it would take 20 minutes. That is exactly how long it took. This is the difference between an honest shop and a dishonest one. I have gone here a few times with no issues, HOWEVER... The last time I went there the counter guy basically blew me off because they were busy. Upon entering, a young girl behind the desk was lounging back and on her cell phone. The man behind the counter acknowledged my presence with a look and head nod, not a "hi, how can we help". The girl working behind the counter called out when the car was finished and when I approached, she lay back, relaxed in her seat without even respecting a customer enough to stand. She tells me I failed inspection when I told her I was there for a flat tire. Took her a second to realize she called the wrong customer. She did not stand for the correct customer until she had to use the computer. Came here for convenience because it is close to home. Would only recommend coming here out of desperation or if you don't care that the staff are unprofessional. In looking at past reviews from two years ago, nothing has changed. I went in to Guy's yesterday after work about 1pm. One day before I remember hitting something and thinking that's going to be bad. I woke up the next day to a halfway empty tire. I managed to make it to a gas station and fill up with air and make it to work. After working a full day the last thing you want to come back to is a completely flat tire. Once again I managed to fill it with air and I made it to Guy's. Already making up in my mind that this was going to be an expensive visit, I spoke to the Guy (no pun intended) at the counter and explained what was going on. He took my keys and I waited. About 5-10 later he let me know I needed a new tire (mind you this tire was a few months old) because there was a slit in the side wall. He offered a new tire or a used one (even cutting the price of the used). Remembering that I just purchased the tires from Ford I asked him to hold on a minute. I called Ford and verified I did in fact have a road hazard package and they would replace the tire free of charge. Had it been a nail or something I would've gladly had it taken care of at Guy's but it was worse. I returned to the Guy (again no pun intended) at the counter and explained I had a road hazard package and would just take it to Ford. He never once blinked. I inquired as to how much I owed again not blinking he said don't worry about it. This is a rarity these days where everyone is out to make money on everything. Truth be told he performed a service which is why I asked how much and to say not to worry is a awesome business model. Recently bought front tires at a different shop and had them balanced. After the Install still had a shake and vibration so I asked them to do the rear. They "did" the rear and still had the same shake. I'm usually at there location on Hylan Blvd, in Great Kills , which has excellent customer service, completes all my jobs in a timely fashion, and have fair prices, but I was in this area so I decided to stop by. Needless to say this location meet all my expectations if not more. The customer service was like no other, the prices were fair (as expected) and I was in and out in no time. Got a flat on the car with the one tire replaced, and they cant tell me witch one was replaced because they don't make a note of this. I also brought in an older car to be looked at and when I got the car home I noticed there was a dent on the passenger side. A friend also told me that she got new brakes and when she brought the car in to look at something I think it was inspection they told her she needed new brakes. My experience at Guys Tires on Veterans Road couldn't have been better. Needed new treads for my truck and after only a couple question between tread size and price we were able to come to a great deal. Tires/Mounting/Balancing not to mention a free alignment check which I know I needed an alignment which was performed afterwards as my truck is 12 years old and hasn't had one since who can remember. The tech also was able to get me in and out with an inspection under 2 Hours and let me tell you this place was busy as I picked the day before a blizzard warning to visit. "Frank" was great and the friendly chatter helped pass time. Prices vary as does every place you go so do a little research on you purchase prior as Guys does price match. I would return for routine maintenance as they also offer first free tire rotation after purchase of tires within 6K-10K miles. Most tires are in stock and if you are special ordering as long not back ordered one/two day shipping time is average. Excellent in my book. read more

Unpleasant to say the least. I go there yesterday and because the wait was long (which I expected) I decided to come back first thing in the morning today. In speaking with Frank yesterday the tires I had requested were $209. I was told that same tire 2 weeks earlier at the Guy's on Hylan was $180 (I wasn't able to do it at the time). He did me the courtesy and called Anthony (who I spoke with a couple weeks ago) to confirm. After that he stated due to whatever in the order the best he could do for me now was $197. I felt that was a fair deal and told him I would be back first thing in the morning rather than waiting 2 hours. He stated he wouldn't be there but I witnessed him write down my information to leave it for the morning personnel. I get there this morning and tell the person at front the entire story with pricing and names included and he said he knows nothing about it and that "Frank is sleeping" so he can't call him & there's nothing he can do for me.
