I brought my two cars in and both times it took them at least 2 days just to diagnose it and then a day to fix it. My car I brought in Friday, i called them 2x (they tell me they will look at the car and call back) but don'. Then they called me Saturday by 12pm? told me what was wrong and said the parts will come in at 1:30 but they close at 2. My car would be ready by Monday. They finally called me Monday at 4? (when they close at 6). I showed up, they fixed my car but didn't tell me about the price change (it's a different price that I agreed to) on the bill. only good thing about them is the prices; their service sucks!! read more

I was recommended by a guy who sells cars. The energy and positive attitude Mario had won me over instantly. My Jeep had some issues which my prior mechanic just couldn't seem to figure out. Mario said you need this , that and this !!! So we did all of that. I picked up the car all was well. Then I noticed something he said bring it back. I did he tended to it instantly. Mind you the jeep is 17 Years old. One other thing occurred brought it in , they Took care of it , told me don't worry about the bill no charge. Well if you need your car worked on this is the place to go. I've been to many other repair shops around this neighborhood and most of them I don't trust. The owner and his mechanics are all top notch. I used to work on my cars myself but am getting older and just don't have the time anymore so I bring my cars here. An honest auto mechanic is a scarce commodity here on swinging Staten Island ... Angelo Leotta's Auto Repair is DEFINITELY one and I will go back to them ... I had a catalytic converter that needed replacing and the local Honda dealer wanted $1800, so instead I got it done here at Leotta's for $650 using Honda parts ... I've bought other cars to them in the past and found they fix the problem right the first time and make no unnecessary repairs. I can't say enough nice things about this place! read more

I have been coming to Leotta's for about 15 years and have always relied on Mario to provide excellent service and honesty. That is what keeps me coming back. There have been times when I was convinced I needed major work and it turned out to be minor. The ability for a professional auto serviceman to maintain his standard of honesty above profit is something you don't typically see, especially if you usually bring your car back to the dealer who is more than willing to oversell. Terrible service. Was told I would receive a call when my car was done. However, hours and hours went by without a call. Finally I had to call them myself and was told the car would be done by close and that I could pick it up that night. I showed up 15 mins before closing time and the shop was closed up and locked! I could hear someone inside but no matter how many times I knocked or called their number they just ignored me. When I came back the next morning to pick up the car the woman was rude and ignored my complaint. She didn't even apologize about the fact that they caused me a huge inconvenience! I just have to say that today's experience at Angelo Leotta's pushed me to make my first written yelp. My car was smoking through the vents and they took such great care of me and didn't charge me :). They fixed an issue from another mechanic, and being that before I went to Angelo's, the other mechanic tried charging me 425.00 for something that wasn't even the issue. Thank you so much for resolving this! I will be a loyal customer from now on, I will no longer use anyone else and I will most definitely recommend others to their shop as well. I am a new customer here and I cannot say enough about how honest and reliable this place is. I had a very bad exhaust smell and for all I knew he could've told me I needed a new exhaust actually it turned out that the last person who did the oil change didn't tighten the oil filter and it was a leak so don't ever go to Firestone this is the third time they screwed up my car I will be going to this place from now on the last time I was there they fixed my headlight in five minutes I think the owners name is Mario. They cleaned my engine of all the oil spill and charged me only $25 I was worried all day thinking it was going to be an $800 job! Also the lady behind the desk is very nice it's good to have a neighborhood place to go to and they barely knew me and did not rip me off which is what I'm used to. I also like that they didn't try to upsell me. I have three cars and will definitely be going there from now on read more

Generally speaking, bringing your car in to have work done is never a fun experience, but I've been to this place 3 or 4 times now, and they never fail to make it as painless as possible. They've always dealt with me both honestly and cordially, they've always gotten the job done right the first time, and they've never tried to sell me on a new johnson rod or some other nonsense. This is the only place I'll bring my car to nowadays and I'd recommend it to anybody. read more
