I've been coming here for about six months because it's close, but I've consistently left feeling disappointed. The staff rush you to pick a color and the environment doesn't feel very welcoming. While my nails sometimes look nice at first, the prep work is often skipped. A few times they didn't touch my cuticles at all, so they looked messy again within a few days. There's usually gel left on my skin or a gap between the polish and the cuticle, which shouldn't happen with a proper manicure. On top of that, the prices are ridiculous for the quality. I always leave spending around $65 for a simple gel fill (tip included), and I usually don't even feel great about my nails afterward. This was my last visit. I'll be going somewhere else, and I'd recommend others consider doing the same. read more

What an amazing job once again. This is a very clean, freshening smelling spa. Light music softly playing in the background. Gina(nails & eyebrows) tech is always very pleasant. Lite conversation but not intrusive or overly personal. Always after my gel manicure a proper shoulder massage which always makes me feel so relaxed and sleepy. Then I remember I'm not at home. Lol. My sons chipped in to get me a gift certificate to the GW spa a few doors down. He didn't know there were 2 with the same name in that shopping center. He asked if this was for massage and the lady said we can do massage instead of sending him to the other store (which used to be the same owner and take both gift cards). When he realized it was the wrong place he went back to try and get a refund and they refused to give it. I think it's very upsetting to do that to kids who are trying to buy their mom a gift. read more

Honestly, this place deserves zero stars. BEWARE this place will charge children the same price as an adult. Also, when you check out they add all these additional charges and overcharge for all their services. To top it all off the owner is rude and condescending - she has zero manners. She should just retire at this point since clearly she's so miserable. My sincere advise is to stay away from this place. I went in for a gel pedicure and decided on the least expensive spa pedicure. At $58 I thought gel would have been included. Upon checking out I was charged an extra $25. This made my pedicure $83. I would never pay that in this neighborhood where there's so much competition and right on Hillside Avenue I can get a spa pedicure with gel for $55. Also as I was having my nails done I noticed on the spa pedicure poster "free from 10 toxic chemicals normally used " then looking at a more expensive pedicure poster it says "free from 16 toxic chemical's normally used" does this mean my pedicure used six toxic chemicals?!?! I have been going to this Salon for many years. Maria who does my nails is always professional and courteous and does a beautiful job. However, the owner, Amy is rude and gruff and doesn't know how to speak to her customers. If I am not at the salon on the dot of my appointment time, Amy will call me and very rudely state, "where are you?". On the flip side, I have had appointments and been on time and made to wait as much as 30 minutes. When I brought this to Amy's attention, she was rude and condescending. She should value her customers because without them, she would be out of business. I will miss Maria, but will not miss being treated poorly on a weekly basis when getting your nails done should be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. read more

After fighting traffic for 2 hour's I'm told by the owner that Maggie did not come in and she meant to call me. Liar !!! She just wanted me to use someone else. Not happening. I got my first ever UV gel extension with design here because I was recommended by a friend. It started off fine - the man up front was super helpful in making sure I picked out colors I liked - but throughout the process of me getting my nails done, I had about 5 people in total work on my nails since they kept passing me off. I think the owner was the one who started to put the actual gel mold on but then passed me off to another person mid hand. The design was good - not exactly the picture but it wasn't bad. But my actual nails felt very thick - which now after going somewhere else I realize it wasn't buffed down a lot. The base price before the design was $70 yet my friend who just started going there for the same service was told $65. All in all it was an OK experience but I probably would seek elsewhere to get this done. read more

I have been going there since I moved to Mineola in 2017. There was a change in ownership recently and since then the quality has diminished. I go regularly for a gel manicure and pedicure and my manicure barely lasts 3 days before it starts to chip. I don't have time to go back and get it redone, so I have decided to switch salons. It's a cute, clean place and they accommodate you right away, but I need my manicures to last much longer. My advice- try another place. There are plenty of choices. read more

My experience here had nothing to do with Covid. The salon itself is Covid friendly. Although their price for their horrible powder manicures is not. Honestly, I swore I would not go back prior to Covid for the horrible job they do and the nasty attitude you get. I blatantly could tell they were talking nasty and giving the evil eye because THEY were taking forever to finish and they wanted to go home. It was unnerving and unprofessional. Not to mention the fact that my nail broke in a day. I went back to have it fixed, only to be blamed that it was my fault. My nails last at every other nail place (which is why I pay for powder). Well I am on vacation and 4 more broke. They did not last a week. They are chincy around the corners and nail bed. Save your money, you could do it better yourself! (The last rounded nail is the broken nail fixed the day before we left --had to be cut down). All the powder is simply chipping off leaving nail exposed. And please don't ask about the pedicure. I love this place! Everyone is cheerful and always greets you with a smile. I love the owner! She's the best! The staff is excellent. They are well staffed and very little wait time if any but I suggest you make an appointment if you like to have your particular nail tech. They all Covid ready. Masks. They have you sanitize your hands and take your temp at the door. The place was always spotless but you see techs spraying your chair with alcohol before you sit then hers too. Its a little over the top - but i love it. They do it all, powders, gel. I'm addicted to my pedi's can't live with out them and they have the good massage chairs. I love this place! This is my go to place. They have a good selection for polish, gel mani, and SNS. I've gotten my nails done by most of the ladies here, but my favorites are Gina and Melissa. Melissa gives great foot massages. Gina remembers me by name and asks about work, my boyfriend, etc. and she knows my favorite colors and when I want to try something new, she suggests a color and a design that I always end up liking! They have decent prices -- a mani pedi is $35. When I feel like splurging a bit more, I go for the mini spa, for an extra $10... includes massage and callous remover. I usually go for a basic manicure, without any fancy designs. I have gotten a design here a few times, but if you like fancy designs, I would go to a different place. But for what I need, this place works for me. They play nice music and I definitely feel relaxed when I come here. During the week, it is definitely calmer... so avoid Saturday and Sunday if you'd prefer the place to yourself or with bey few other people. I've been to nicer salons, and I've been to salons nowhere close to as nice as this one. I definitely feel that this is a pristine nail salon and that is very important!! I just moved to this area and I decided to give this place a chance since is 4 min from my house! Worst decision ever!!! I'll rather drive 15 min and go to my regular place or not get my nails done at all! First time there i felt like the girl who did my manicure was in a bad mood and she just had an attitude the whole time (first chair next to the register) my second time with my daughter who is 11 years old they still charge me $49 for gel manicure that lasted 5 days! Same w mine ! Horrible service from Michelle who was rushing me the whole time and did a horrible job! And i know that we are in America and freedom of speech is right but is not very nice that u talk to your employees in Chinese in front of my face when they're clearly speak and understand English (not professional at all) just bc my daughter request the girl to fix one of her nail (the gel came out in 2 days) they left her nails horrible ! My son got me a gift certificate for this place thinking it was the foot massage place a couple of stores down, since they have the same name, but they are not connected. So now I have a $100 gift certificate for a nail salon that I have never been to. My first time there, about a month ago I got a special pedicure & a manicure. The pedicure was definitely not worth the money, $49. There was nothing special about it! It was supposed to include a foot massage, but the lady was very distracted So it was more like a rub here & there, and the whole time I felt like she really did not want to be doing my pedicure & manicure as well. The only good thing about it was that my feet were soft for about a week. Now for the manicure.... i have had better. She spent very little time on my cuticles & I don't wear a colored polish on my nails, just clear & she only put one coat on. I went back today for just a manicure. She filed my nails & again, very little time was spent on my cuticles. Then she started to put the polish on & I asked her if she could put some cream on my hands first. Why should I have to ask for hand cream when getting a manicure....everywhere else I go that's included. So she put the hand cream on, along with the cuticle oil that should have gone on when she was doing my cuticles, rubbed it in for about 10 seconds, then got the towel to clean them off, and then put one coat of clear polish.....I had to ask for the second coat! Just because I didn't use a colored polish doesn't mean I should have gotten less of a manicure, especially since I got charged the same price. I'm a little confused because a lot of the reviews are good, but I think it's because they might treat their "regulars" differently. I can't wait until I use up my gift certificate so I can go back to my "regular" nail salon where I get a much better manicure (and I don't have to ask for the hand cream) & pedicures for less money. read more

I have been going here for a long time but I finally give up. I got my nails done two weeks ago and by the third day of powder gel, 2 came off. By the 5th 2 more chipped. Plus the lady that did them, I think her name starts with an M, she twists and turns my fingers like she's mad at the world and wants to break them. She is the only one that does that so roughly. I've gone here every once in awhile in the past for the convenient location. Today I went for a pedicure with two other people and we tipped 2 of the 3 technicians while getting services. After, I paid the man up front and asked for change to tip the third technician. He then went on to demand multiple times to leave tip for one of the first two technicians in an envelope as she'd already left for the day. I explained several times that we already had tipped while in the back room but he didn't accept that explanation. The entire encounter was very rude and conducted in front of all the other customers. I always tip appropriately but I was shocked at this man demanding the tip while having no clue of what had occurred while I was there. The pedicure was average - nothing special. One of our massage chairs was broken and the salon is in need of cosmetic updates. I can get equal or better services at many other salons elsewhere. BEWARE OF MINDY!!!!!!!!! I went to get a regular french manicure yesterday and had the displeasure of having Mindy do my nails. Right off the bat she didn't seem like she wanted to be there. One of my nails chipped so I had to cut it kinda short and asked her to cut my nails and make them round such that they match the chipped nail finger. She told me french wouldn't look good with such short nails and I explained to her that I had a french done there before and it looked fine also what more can I do with a chipped nail, as I didn't want acrylics. She then starts cutting my nails and shaping them and when she buffed them i noticed my finger would hurt on my left hand. It was then that I saw she not only cut my nails much shorter than the chipped nail, she cut one of them uncomfortably close to my nailbed. The length of the nails wasn't even either. She noticed me staring at my nails and accusingly asked me "what's wrong." She then starts cutting my cuticles and it hurt. This is where it took a turn for the worst. 4 of my fingers started bleeding because she cut too much of my cuticle off. The bleeding has gone down since yesterday but you can still see how raw my ring finger still is. She said sorry but she didn't sound like she cared at all. It was then that i decided I didn't want her touching my nails anymore and I told her to stop the manicure all and all. Even other nail techs were surrounding us to see what the commotion was all about. As I walked out, the owner had the audacity to tell me to come again. read more

Started frequenting this nail salon around the end of March. Was thrilled with one technician, Jasmine. She really is thorough, neat and efficient. However, my LAST time visiting, I tipped 20% - laid the tip in order - 10, 5 & 1. Jasmine took it, looked at it and said something to the owner. As I was leaving, the owner said "Honey, come here for a second." I went over and she had the audacity to tell me that tipping 20% is mandatory. I replied stating that I indeed tipped 20%... Never have I EVER experienced such rudeness! I will NEVER frequent this nail salon again. My sister and brother in law have also stopped going. They do an amazing job, I get the powder dipped manicure and it stay looking great for weeks and they give a really nice pedicure too, I get the special pedicure. Absolutely terrible service. I got a GEL manicure on a Thursday and they were chipped the next day. I called and they were nice about me coming back to get them fixed. I came and got them fixed and AGAIN they chipped the next. At this point, I don't want them fixed again because obviously they're using faulty product. I call and spoke with the manager who gave me the run around. Then I finally just showed up after work, and quietly requested a refund because now I'd have to get them redone someplace else. Thank goodness I had my receipt because she tried to give me less than I paid and argued about what I paid even with my receipt in her face. I am very particular with my nails. My old nail place moved to a different town too far for me to travel, so for months I was seeking for a new nail salon. I stumbled upon GW. Well they are amazing. Amy and all of the girls are very friendly and approachable. They go out of their way to make you comfortable and accommodate your needs. I have gotten fill ins from Amy, Eliane, and Grace. All 3 do a phenomenal job. GW is also spotless and very clean. All of their tools are sanitized as well and their pedi stations. Nicole and her staff are great. The place is a little more pricy than the other nail salons around the area but it's definitely worth it. The salon is clean and they do a really good job. Nicole never buys cheap products and she is always willing to accommodate you. If you need good a gel set ask for Eileen. If you need a good mani pedi ask for Maria or Maritza.
