The staff was very welcoming to me since I came in during lunch time and explained the combo plate options and costs. I ended up ordering the 2 item plate with Chicken Tikka Masala & chick pea curry with my choice of the garlic naan. Staff mentioned she was going to make a fresh batch so I waited inside the store. The food was ready in a few minutes and the aromas of the curries and garlic naan were radiating. It smelled so delicious. I ate my lunch there and it was very satisfying. This is my go to place for Indian food! I usually get the chicken tikka masala with plain naan and samosas. The chicken is always flavorful and filling and the samosas are always delicious. The people working are always kind, but sometimes the service can be slow and they don't always answer the phone. I didn't personally like my entrees. Both were kind of bland. The butter chicken was pretty tart. I enjoyed the chickpeas but wish there was more flavor. My rice tastes watery. However, the posted menu is confusing and discouraging. There's a large menu on the wall and a different smaller menu on the side. And one menu attempts to separate butter chicken and chicken tikka masala, but the staff uses the words synonymously. The location is also a little cramped. The quality and flavor are still there, but the portions are a lot smaller, what you get is mostly liquid, and the price went up by $3. A one meat one veggie combo was $8.99 per my last review, and now it's $11.99. At this point I'm far better off going to a buffet for better value, the one in Rosemead is $16 for all you can eat. Because the flavor is still so on point and the owner is still such a nice, sweet man I'm only lowering to 4 stars instead of 3, but it's pretty rare I stop by anymore. Got take out of the samosa and bhel puri for dinner earlier! Flavors were pretty okay, not super strong like a lot of other Indian food eateries I've eaten from. The Samosa came with a tamarind and mint chutney that were both good and helped elevate the samosas! While I liked the refreshing flavor of the bhel puri, I'm more used to having it where there's a little more crunch or crisp to the ingredients. We ordered 2 one meat one veg combos(7.99) - we chose chicken masala, bell pepper / potatoes, garlic nan, cheese & spinach, and two samosas (1.99 for 2!) it came with this green cucumber dipping sauce that was TO DIE FOR! Our food took about 10 mins, and we thanked the owner and off we went to eat in the parking lot! Lord have mercy, that chicken was amazing!!!!! The orange sauce it was in was just 10/10 outstanding! I don't know what I expected, but it beyond met my expectations. The Samoa's were crunchy, hot, and really tasty! Inside was potatoes/ peas and it just paired so well with that damn cucumber crack sauce! The bell peeper and potatoes were outstanding as well...just everything was seasoned perfectly and most of all nice and HOT! (So hard to come by right now with the CA/ Covid regulations) Altogether, we paid 23.00 for a good amount of food. The garlic nan was big enough to feed 3 people off of 1 slice lol. . It was piping hot and the smell of garlic makes me so happy! They had just enough! 100% we will be back to try more off their menu. Tikka chicken, butter chicken, lamb curry, and tandoori is on my list. If y'all are looking to expand your palette, this place is totally worth the stop!
