Great food and atmosphere Very enjoyable sitting on the deck with a cocktail in the summer

Last night our group of 12 met for dinner at Gypsum Grill. As I've reported before parking is a huge problem! The few spots designated for the restaurant were taken by league golfers. The lot across the street is unpaved and we came home with mud caked shoes. My partner and I were both disappointed in our food. I had the perch, which would've been OK except the plate was swimming in a runny mayonnaise based sauce. The fries fish and slaw were soaked with it. I asked for a small plate so I could quickly move the food off of the sauce. When I asked for tartar sauce, they stated that was the tartar sauce. I suggest if you order the perch, ask for the sauce on the side. The naan dip had very little taste or seasoning. It had a horseradish sauce that was bland. When my partner asked for more horseradish, they didn't have any. It is a nice location with a beautiful view of the golf course. read more

We love gypsum for brunch just as much as any other time! Their menu was innovative and delicious. We usually sit at the bar and service is quick and friendly. It is such a chill environment with a beautiful view. Our latest visit I got the stuffed French toast and my husband got the pancakes. Both were excellent. The maple bourbon syrup on my pancakes was delicious as was the Lincoln berry jam on his ricotta pancakes. It has to be really good to tempt him to order something sweet and he was so glad he did! We also treated our self by splitting a Miller high life 40 which they serve bottle style chilled on ice with two champagne flutes. Which is both Elegant and hilariously fun. read more

I had seen some reviews of Gypsum Grill, a new restaurant located at the Mines golf course. I don't really get to that side of town much, but was curious. So when a local networking group I'm in planned a lunch there, I was excited to check it out! We had a large group of about 12 people, and we were accommodated nicely. The restaurant is bright and airy, with nice views of the golf course. There is also an attached event space that can seat up to 250 guests. I also saw a large patio that looked perfect for warmer weather! The menu is pretty varied new American, with handhelds, salads, flatbreads, entrees, desserts, and a full bar. I liked that they have a pick two lunch combo option for $13. I went with the Gypsum club with a side Caesar salad. The club was really good - a big portion with plenty of thick cut bacon. The pesto aioli had a unique flavor - not quite my favorite, but not bad either. I loved the Caesar salad, it was very fresh and a decent side portion. I'm glad I got the opportunity to check out Gypsum Grill and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an event space or a bite to eat on this side of town. read more

We have been twice, first time we had to wait a little while but the second time we were seated right away, though it took awhile for the waitress to finally stop by for our drink orders. My food has been excellent both times, the Caesar salad and sweet corn bisque are delicious! You can see out over the golf course, I would recommend sitting inside because the first time we sat outside and the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other speak. They have kids menus, my boys liked the choices. read more

We were met at the door by Elle who nicely told us about the restaurant (our first visit) and showed us to a table right by the window. We enjoyed the sunset on the brightly colored fall leaves surrounding the golf course. Morgan, our server, took good care of us. The menu is limited, favoring sandwiches and salads. There are a steak, a chicken, a rib entree, etc. for those wanting a larger meal. We had a French onion soup (good) a chicken wrap (also good) and a hamburger that I rate as average. A glass of house wine was good but a little pricey. All in all a good first visit for us and will will return to try some other menu items. read more

Ordered the gnocchi with chicken my chef boyfriend thought it was zesty, creamed ricotta lemony, gnocchi is crispy, peas and asparagus perfect amount for every savory bite. read more

My wife and I decided to try this place last night as a "make-up" Valentine's date. We had a 6:00 reservation and had to leave by 7:30 to get to a show downtown. We got there and were seated by 6:10. The server took about 5 minutes to get to us and say hi - no big deal. By that time though, we'd had a chance to read the menu and decide what we wanted, and since we had somewhere to be, we asked if it was ok if we gave him our entree orders in addition to the drinks and Baked Brie appetizer we ordered. He said that was fine, he'd time it all out. A different server brought us the Brie. It was different than any other baked Brie I've had - rather than being the wheel of Brie, it was liquid cheese in kind of a queso-style, served with potato chips. It was extremely sweet. We didn't care for it, but it would probably be good for people who don't normally like Brie or want their cheese to be super sweet. A few minutes later, our server came by to check in and see how we were liking the Brie. He took out his notepad, which we thought was odd since he already had our entree order, but probably just a force of habit. We said we were doing well, didn't need anything else at the moment. About 10 minutes later, he came to check in again, pad in had once more. He said "So, just the Brie for you tonight, or..." We were taken aback, and reminded him that we'd already given him our entree order. I said, "Did you not put it in!" He said, "Yeah, yeah, I put it in. I just forgot, sorry." At that point we still weren't too worried. About 10 minutes later, he came back to verify what we'd ordered. "So you guys had the Sea Bass and Steak Medallions, right?," he said, reading from his pad. I said, "Yeah that's us. Did you not put it in?" He said, "Yeah I put it in. It was just under the wrong table. It'll be out shortly!" At that point, he started going out of his way not to walk by our table. We're pretty sure he never put the order in until after he came by to verify what we'd ordered. About 15 minutes later (it was 7:10 by this point, a full hour after we'd arrived), the GM came by and asked how everything was. We told him what was going on and he was rightfully aghast. We said at that point we didn't think we'd have time to eat and cash out before we had to leave, so we just wanted to get going. The GM told us to go ahead and leave, and he comped the appetizer. We got to our show on time, albeit a bit hungry, and got dinner afterwards. Nonla Burger to the rescue! It's a shame because we live on the west side and were super excited to have another dinner option near us. We told the GM we wanted to give it another shot sometime, and we meant that. But it's hard to picture going back anytime soon, until they've had a chance to properly train waitstaff. It was such an odd experience; I can honestly say that's never happened to me in a restaurant before. read more

My son and daughter-in-law's wedding reception was held at the Gypsum Event Center last week. The food and drinks were incredible. MacKenzie and her staff were exceptionally responsive and proactive with serving all of our guests. They even helped deconstruct the tables at the end of the night, packing away candles etc. The facility is one year old and BEAUTIFUL. It is easy to find being a mile or two from I-196. We got some great outdoor pictures as it looks from above onto the golf course. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this facility for any event! read more

We had a great time with our kids and spouses. We were celebrating one couples 30th anniversary. Service was great and food very good. Manager even sent over complimentary champagne when he heard reason for celebration. Beautiful restaurant and atmosphere. We will be back! read more

We had our thanksgiving dinner at the Gypsum Grill. First time not eating at home and spending the day cooking! It was well worth it! We were greeted by the manager and hostess. Seated by a window which was a bonus! Golf course view, so pretty! The buffet was lovely with turkey and short ribs (best I have ever eaten). The stuffing was a clam stuffing, it was good but had a bit of a kick to it. I prefer a traditional stuffing but this filled the ticket! Also the green beans were terrific. Not the soupy ones we usually have and I liked that. Had a nice salad bar that wasn't too expansive but plenty of choices for toppings for your salad. Mashed potatoes and 2 choices of gravy. Dinner rolls and baguette were fresh and the herbed butter was a perfect topping. Waiter was attentive and checked on us several times. Desserts were plentiful, headliners were the apple pie with crumb topping and pumpkin pie with fresh whipped cream. Thank you Gypsum Grill for providing this lovely buffet on Thanksgivin! There's a lot to unpack here. It's a very loud room, the staff is friendly and the food is a mixed bag. The beer list looks like it was created by someone who doesn't like beer. All watery and light beers and IPAs. If you're a beer lover, there's nothing good on the list. This is Beer City!!! Please offer some good beers! I had the bacon burger with fries and a Caesar side salad. The burger was okay. It had a thick slice of bacon that was barely cooked (it was rubbery). Fries were warm, not hot and not crispy. Caesar salad had fresh Romain lettuce with a little bit of finely shaved Parmesan, dressing that tasted like mayonnaise and croutons like you get out of a bag. One bite of the salad was enough to send it back and ask that it be taken off the bill. Others at the table had beet salad which was very good except for the copious amount of goat cheese. There were eight golfball sized blobs of goat cheese. Salad would have been a 9 or 10 if not for the ginormous goat cheese balls. Two at our table had the bolognese, which was pretty good. Tasty. Nice noodles. Not much meat, but the flavor was good. Another person had the cheesesteak, which was pretty hefty and proper. Two at the table orders sauv blanc and got Chardonnay. For an after dinner drink, I ordered the Liquid Mittens, which sounded great but was disappointing considering the price. It is a weak and small drink. The staff was excellent. Super friendly. All in all: Bar options score 3 out of 10. Food was hit or miss. What I ordered was a 4 out of 10 but others at the table did better. Service was 9 out of 10. read more

My wife and I arrived at 6:30 on 6/4 for their "patio party" and were promptly seated by the host at an outdoor table overlooking the golf course, unfortunately this was the highlight of the evening as it seemed we became invisible from that moment on. Side note, they advertised a patio party with DJ AB, yet there was a different DJ playing tunes?? We sat for 15 before our waitress arrived and another 20 minutes before the drinks arrived. The food was well prepared and very flavorful, however the service was lacking. Several times we were told that it was due to the large parties of golfers... yes their golfers are their bread and butter and are catered to, while the casual visitors are left wanting better service. I doubt we'll return anytime soon . read more

Went here to celebrate 2 birthdays. Super impressed with this place! Service, food and specialty cocktails were outstanding. We tried 5 drinks and each one was excellent in taste and presention.prevention. Highly recommend the spicy Korean beef nachos, squash bisque, macaroni and cheese and the Italian sandwich. Went in with my family to get dinner on a Friday night, brunch on the following Sunday as well. Very nice establishment with a nice view over the 5th and 9th holes of the golf course. Food was amazing, definitely would recommend the duck fried rice. Appetizers were great as well, we got the Sticky Shrimp, Baked Brie dip, and Nachos. Not one crumb left on those plates. Service was awesome, Mady did a great job taking care of us. Brunch was delicious, the California Burrito was amazing. All in all, great experiences and I'm excited to see the direction this restaurant/venue is headed! read more

5/5 food 10/5 service 5/5 ambiance. This place rocks!! Service is so spectacular and personal, we have had Ian twice now as our server and he has enhanced our dining experience. We have tried the soup, the mac skillet, wings (chili garlic and cherry bbq), shrimp, and the chicken sando. Everything has been excellent, as well as our drinks! Couldn't recommend this place more.
