Love this coffee shop!!!!! Omg, where to start. Their specialty lattes are divine and their cream sodas are on point. Their Nutella-variant croissant is the best chocolate croissant I've ever had. Love the ambience--it's awesome to hear ppl playing the piano, and the board games lying around are super fun too. A little more removed from the other coffee spots downtown, this neat little coffeehouse offers a great vibe for anyone looking to grab a cup of coffee and enjoy a book or work on a project. I've had coffee a few times here, and while the coffee is nothing to write home about, the atmosphere is really interesting and unique. Definitely worth stopping in if you're at the Guthrie Green or around that area and in need of refreshment. It isn't my favorite coffee in town but I still make a point of getting a latte once in a while to show my support for its art friendly space! read more

ya know.. I went here the other night for the second time and just wasn't thoroughly impressed. the coffee was okay, but I just didn't dig the atmosphere. I had been once during the day after work and it was fine, but at night, the place just had a different - not as pleasurable, maybe a little bit creepy - vibe. also, I am mid twenties, and I felt a bit out of place that evening.. pretty sure the rest of the Gypsy population was either in high school or freshman college students. not for me. the location is cool though..downtown close to Guthrie Green. there are tables to drink your coffee outside. just not my kinda vibe. the place was packed on a Saturday night, though, so they've got some strong followers probably won't be back here again with so many other good coffee spots in Tulsa. read more

Good place to kill time. The coffees are great however the food not much. Order the goat cheese veggie something and it was awful it tasted like a raw egg yolk. However i really like the place its a brick building with cool set up of different color painted walls and dark curtains. read more

I have a deep appreciation for this place. I have met some fantastic friends and had some good times at this establishment. I only occasionally have a cup of joe, but this is absolutely, one of my favorite places to go. I work in downtown and have enjoyed the quiet escape for a quick lunch, or take the work laptop and go to the Gypsy for a change of scenery. My experience here was very interesting the atmosphere is kind of cool. Although it does seem like the kind of place where old hippies would hang out and smoke pot all day. The coffee was okay the cake that I had was delicious but I don't think I Would go there for my next cup of Joe. read more

Like others said, the coffee is pretty awful, and more expensive than most. The inside looks awesome - colorful, bohemian murals, etc. It opens very late in the day (late afternoon), and closes very late. When I went, I was the only customers there...I think. Several other people came and went - usually through the employees' door behind the counter, leading into the back room. I'm not sure what they were doing there, but it didn't seem like normal coffee shop stuff, and I didn't feel welcome. I left after a few minutes. read more

The Gypsy Coffee House and Cyber Cafe has been my favorite coffee shop on earth since I discovered it in 2008. It has a fascinating history that is well worth asking the staff about or researching online. It was an old abandoned warehouse until the owner loving restored it and made it what it is today. The second level is a hair saloon that he operates. I have seen the menu increase from just amazing coffees, soothing teas and delicious deserts to a grill they operate with (I believe) vegetarian options. An out of city visit to a chain coffee shop had me craving a true hot chai latte. So my visit started with the assistant manager taking my order. He had a waxed handlebar mustache!! My barista took the time to make a design in the foam of my tea!! While talking with an old friend, I was blessed to have a hug and a few words with the owner. The tea was fantastic, fulfilling the craving I naively tried to sate at that other place. This place has character, style and soul. If you go in open to meet a new friend, you'll rarely be disappointed. They also have the longest running open mic night Tulsa, on Tuesdays. Live original music on the weekends. If you've never been to the Gypsy, TRY IT! If you haven't been in awhile, GO BACK! You will not regret it. read more

cute atmosphere just don't expect service. we ordered coffees and got them handed to us (we asked for to go's and they had no lids) so we stayed at the counter but the worker never spoke to us. he just set them down and then started talking to two other workers. we stood there for a couple minutes waiting for his story to be over and i finally just interrupted and asked for the lids. the other two workers he was speaking to have also been rubbing all over each other behind the counter this entire time. at one point the female was against the wall and he was in front of her with his hands on her stomach. read more

Cool laid back coffee house. Some interesting entertainment and good coffee. My wife and I go to Gypsy whenever we're in Tulsa. Age isn't too big a factor, mostly college age to unobtrusive elders. read more

Sometimes I can't stop laughing because people can be so hilarious when storytelling. sadly, this place has gone downhill alot. went about 1 year ago and had great service and a wonderfully refreshing peppermint tea and carrot cake. about 1 year ago had a nice relaxing ambiance, and atmosphere. not this time, not now, not anymore. they have renovated and remodeled the inside alot, with some few left over reminder remnants from before, a few pieces of furniture and the celestial star painted ceiling. sadly, they renovated and remodeled away what made this place special and unique, the nice relaxing ambiance and atmosphere, and great service. unfortunately, the baristas and staff have changed alot, they no longer care about their customers, at all. they only care about talking to their friends that come in and completely ignoring their customers. I'm now in my 40's, but sadly, the baristas and employees, reminded me of high school, and all the fake "clicks", a bunch of insecure fake people, posers, wanna bees, trying desperately to impress each other, instead of taking care of their customers. had to ask several times just to get waited on and place another "to go" order, after sat down at the bar with my (first order) mint tea and fritata. to be fair, the mint tea was good and so was the fritata, but $3 for mint tea, and $4 for a fritata, is way over-priced for what you get. sadly, just not the same it was 1 year ago, and the baristas staff and employees are just plain rude now. the only exception was "lilly", she was nice and friendly, but she was new and said she had only worked there since june, hope she remains the same and the other horrible baristas staff and employees bad attitudes and terrible work ethic toward customer service don't change her, or that she's smart enough to see the "writing on the wall", and just quit and find a better job. unfortunately and sadly, doubt will ever come back, just not the same place it was 1 year ago, and the baristas staff and employees, except for "lilly", are just plain rude now. read more

Loved this little dimly-lit cove of a study place. Really it is perfect for studying - kind of that gritty, gypsy, cold place where you really do need the lamps that are on the booth tables and maybe a light that you bring on your own. It is the type of place you'd expect to find hookah, but I don't think they have that. The space is pretty big as well, and there's a room with pillows. Okay, it wasn't really cold, but it had a cold kind of feel, like you'd want to bring your cozy things and the people there would be mighty fine with that. Kind of a laid-back, anything goes place. I was uber hungry, and they gave me a generous portion of their "power bar," which was something I might make at home - a raw mixture of oats, chocolate, peanut butter, etc. So delicious. I wish every cafe would have food that I would make at home. I also had a moroccan mint tea latte and my friend at a pizza flatbread thing. It was all pretty high-quality, and the person working there was really authentically nice. It is weird - like all the people in Tulsa are mindful and conscious and wonderful. Anyways, if you need to get some serious studying done, this is the place to get down and do it. read more

although i can't seem to find this place open when i want my coffee in the morning, i will rate it as a true coffee-shop in every other sense of the term. as to the originality of the gyp... i have never been to a place more welcoming to all groups of people. i have seen a woman using the gyp as a movie set, i have seen a bridal shower there, i have seen a hippie concert there as well as a cigar aficionado party there. the place caters to the talented and eclectic eccentric. i was there in 2001 for tuesdays open mic night and as i understand, the mic night is still going strong as oklahomas longest running open mic night. i love the gypsy, i love bradley (the owner), and i love to be among the large band of people in town and in the world that have this place in common. read more

The shop looks dirty and several seats have stains on them. i was in here with my friends and i felt objectified by a barista and a customer as they were loudly talking about me and glancing at me. the people here are nice people but the customer service was disappointing. The coffee and food isn't worth the rudeness and the risk of getting sick from the germs or lice from the dirty pillows. read more

If you need a place to study and escape the crowded coffee shops then the Gypsy is perfect. I have spent many hours there studying and my class mates love coming to the Gypsy. The staff is so sweet and although some times they run out of food items, they try to make it the best experience. It was my first visit there. The location is right next to Guthrie Green. It's an interesting building and the inside is very eclectic. The barista was sort of friendly. Didn't seem happy to be there. But it was a Sunday afternoon and she had probably worked since early morning. But oh well. Really enjoyed the iced coffee on a hot mid-July afternoon. I admit, I have a rather high standard for coffee. Snobbishly high is even a fair estimate given I have recently moved back from living in Seattle where coffee is a food group. I was delighted to find Gypsy Coffee House to have that spacious, funky, easy decor and environment that encourages you hang out and read while enjoying your treats and beverages (It also doesn't hurt that they have a parking lot out back). However, I found the counter staff to be a bit overly-impressed with their role as baristas and not very friendly. When I requested a decaf latte I was told with a rather deadpan expression "we do not have DECAF espresso". Apparently, they don't realize you can actually use decaf coffee in the espresso machine and if the issue is the grind, that should be able to be handled fairly easily [Hint: I worked as a barista many moons ago and know how it all works]. After what seemed an unnecessarily long wait to get decaf made in a french press, it was drinkable but not great and certainly over-priced for what I received. If I want a place to hang and I am in the area, I might go back for caffeinated espresso and give them another shot (pun intended). However, I can safely say I won't be making a special trip for the privilege. read more

Coffee and teas aren't the best or ween't the best last time I went BUT the vibe in there is the best in town. They've spent along time creating an awesome atmosphere in there. It's always a shame that more people aren't frequenting there. Also their open mic on Tuesdays is the most interesting conglomeration of folks ever. Comics, Singer Songwriters, Poets... The building and location are cool. But first thing I notice when I come in is it smells pretty bad--like a faint odor of rotten eggs. Must be a sewage problem nearby, it's an old building. Then I look at their loose tea selection, not bad. The price wasn't given on the list, and I assumed a normal price. The guy (who was nice) asks if I'd like cream and honey. I said sure. The bill comes up to $6.08! For tea! I asked them abt it and they said it's bec the honey is extra. Who charges for honey? I said, ok, no honey. So they kindly re-did the bill for me. Meanwhile, I check the other menu where I found the prices for tea and it's $3.00 for a pot and $5.00 for a french press. So, either the barrista automatically upgraded me without asking, or what they really mean is there is a two tier pricing for loose teas and tea bags (which I didn't see till later). Ok, fine, it better be amazing tea. Then the guy brings my tea out to me and it comes in... A pot. Not the French press that I supposedly paid extra for. Really? The coffee here might be amazing, but if you want tea, hit up Cherry St. or somewhere else.... read more
