Kavsar is a family-owned restaurant that feels like a hidden local gem and a great escape if you want to try something new. This was my first time having Uzbek food and I really enjoyed it. I ordered the Lagman with beef, Samsa beef, the Kavsar boat with chicken, and a bottle of water. It was definitely a lot of food for one person, but I wanted to try a little of everything and I'm glad I did. Everything tasted fresh, hearty, and homemade. One tip: don't get too full on the main dishes. Save room for the Honey Cake for dessert. It's absolutely worth it and something you don't want to miss. If you're in Pittsburgh and want a cozy spot with great food and welcoming vibes, Kavsar is a fantastic place to check out.

We were going to try the sweet crepes too, but were stuffed after the kachapuri. There were many vegetarian options. The waiter was helpful and nice and we didn't wait long for the food to come out. Though the wait was long (1hr on a busy Sunday), the food came out piping hot. Each dish was flavorful. The chicken shawarma was juicy, and had the right blend of spices and sauces without being overly heavy or soggy. The rice was simple side, but had nutty buttery taste profile complimented by the parsley garnish. And the friend cauliflower reminded me a bit of Indian Dahi Wada in flavor, but was piping hot and crispy. Now Hanadi's is my standard for good Mediterranean food Reasonably priced, fair portions, and good quality ingredients. Service: 3/10 Self order, food came out 1 hour late, but worth the wait. Ambiance: 3/10 Don't go for the ambiance, it looks like a humble family restaurant. But makes up for the interior with the quality of food. It was clean and tidy,

They also do a big take-out business. The owner is always friendly and helpful. Their Baba Ghanoush, Tabouli, and Hummous are always outstanding. The Lentil Soup is delicious, subtle and surprising. Very convenient location on McKnight Road, although it's on the Southern end of the business strip. Lots of free parking.
