Love this spot. Menu is tight, but with enough variety to mix things up if you've gone there 5 times in 9 days and need a change. Food is always fresh and hot, plenty of flavor. I'm no expert on Mediterranean cuisine, but theirs feels perfectly spiced/flavored. It's tasty but never feels overdone. The crew working counter and kitchen (it's a small space; those are basically the same thing) has been friendly and energetic 100% of my visits. Most recently, we did a pair of lamb shawarma sandwiches, a side of falafels, and some fries. I love their Greek fries that are loaded but didn't do them this last round. I need to try their fries that have some meat mixed in; those sound like a Mediterranean "nachos" and I bet would be awesome. Great Admiral District spot. Get some as soon as you can! read more

Was really excited that they brought a gyro and shawarma place to West Seattle. I ordered the chicken shawarma, the falafel sandwich, and the Greek fries. Unfortunately, I would give the sandwiches a 2 out of 5. The flavor was decent, but the sandwich's integrity didn't stand a chance to the sauce, so as I was eating it it was just falling apart all over the place. The Greek fries were a solid 5 out of 5 though, so that's why I'm giving them 3 stars at all. It's also fairly off the beaten path on Admiral, but has a good sized parking lot it shares with Starbucks. I probably wouldn't be back, and would much prefer to drive to the U District where some of the better shawarma exists in the city. read more

The food here is terrific. The gyros and falafel are both tasty, and it's great to see that they make Arabic shawarma too. Chicken or lamb, you can't go wrong. As great as the food is, the service is even better. Everyone who has ever served me is just so nice, and they're so hospitable that you almost feel like a guest at their home. I'm really glad West Seattle has a great gyros shop, and I'll certainly keep doing my part to keep them in business. ;-) read more

I wish I could give this place a stellar review but it is not the case. I purchased the gyro sandwich (with traditional lamb & beef), and a side of falafel (which I only consumed 3 out of 6). Fast forward to several hours after eating dinner, I threw up everything I ate and dealt with nausea and diarrhea that disrupted my sleep. I have had gyros with lamb & beef before at other local restaurants with no issue, so I'm very surprised I reacted like this after eating here for the first time as a West Seattle resident. It leads me to believe I got food poisoning as a result of cross-contamination while they were preparing it or undercooking the meat. Never coming back again unfortunately. read more

This place was a nice find. We ordered one plate which was beef and lamb to share between my SO and I. We enjoyed the plate on the beach. Was a little bit disappointed when I didn't see the hot sauce on the dish but I guess you have to ask for it. Will come again and ask for hot sauce. read more

I ordered an Arabic Chicken Shawarma and all I got was lettuce, tomatoes, and a tortilla soaked in some garlic sauce. The menu doesn't mention it has lettuce either. So they include ingredients that aren't listed on the menu and subtract the chicken. read more

I've been recommending it to everyone. it truly is the best greek in west seattle. the customer service is incredible, the food is so fresh and satisfying, and they have a good amount of vegetarian fare, which is awesome. their portions are super generous, too. best part? I have never EVER liked baba ganouj... hated it actually (maybe that's why I don't know how to spell it... ha!), but this is truly incredible here! He asked if it was our first time in, he brought us our food and told us not to hesitate if we needed anything else, and he asked how it was when he were walking out. They genuinely care about their business and customers and you can tell. It makes a difference The food. OH MY GOODNESS THE FOOD!!! GREEK FRIES. GET THEM. Loved the food and the great guys who work here! We ordered the signature gyro and they were delicious! As we picked up our order, I was handed a box and was told, "Here, these are our fries and we wanted you to try them on us and tell us what you think." I said "Thank you so much," and went to the car. I opened the box and saw this gorgeous (and delicious smelling) work of art. Wow! You have to get the fries too! For fast food, I have to say the place is excellent. I give 3 stars instead of 5 for 2 reasons. 1. I don't like having the meal drowned in sauces if it's not dine in. Be thoughtful, put everything on the side for to-go orders. I always ask and they get it right about half the time. 2. The prices have become absurd, even for Seattle. I really want to try their falafel next time we are there since I really do love a good falafel. Would I say it is the best I have ever had. No, but it is good for seattle. I am not sure if they were to make it more authentic that this city could handle it. I have had authentic really flavorful Greek food and you have to be ok with it being a little bit more on the saltier side. I really really really love this place! It tasted way better than the halal guys Seattle location + mawadda cafe in south seattle. The staff was friendly and the place was pretty clean / cozy. It's pretty affordable / usual price for Mediterranean food! We ordered the lamb & beef shawarma plate and it was sooo tasty! The meat was so flavorful and juicy!!! My biggest pet peeve is when I order a gyro or a shawarma plate and the meat is dry. But this place ?! Definitely came out juicy and flavorful! It also came with salad, yogurt dip, pita bread and hummus, and omg!! Can I just say I freaken love their hummus ?!? It was the best I ever had. Literally drooling thinking about it right now. Next time I'm definitely going to ask for extra garlic white sauce because it was sooo yummy. I also got to try my friends order of the Greek fries and wow!! I highly believe the hype about that. If a place has vegan options, I will go out of my way to visit. If there are multiple vegan options, I will be there in a heartbeat. I found out Gyro Heroes has a vegetarian/vegan section of their menu so I was pretty much sold and that is what brought me in. I am happy to report it was well worth it. I visited Gyro Heroes with during the week around lunch time. The location is in the old Baskin Robbins in the Admiral. You can't miss it. The menu was your average Mediterranean fare: falafel, shawarmah, kebabs, hummus, baba ghanouj. There are salads and sandwiches and plates. I ordered the vegan falafel plate because I wanted the trifecta of falafel, hummus, and baba ghanouj. The falafel well worth it, the baba ghanouj excellent, the hummus and pita where THE BEST! I even ordered an hummus and pita to go. There is nothing like homemade hummus, ya'll, and Gyro Heroes does it RIGHT. I can't fail to mention the person who was up front was very friendly and accommodating. Costumer service was on point. read more

Super friendly guys work here, and the baba ganoush is out of this world. I love the vegan options and have been here a couple of times since the opening. The parking lot is small but there always seems to be parking. If you're hungry or in a rush, I would suggest calling ahead because the wait can be long if it's busy. Was anxious to try this place after reading the great reviews and it did not disappoint! The staff is super friendly and had no problem accomodating a picky eater in my party. I got the gyro plate and while I did manage to finish it, I was stuffed for the rest of the evening! The meat was flavorful and moist and the warm pita was a great addition. I wasn't crazy about the tzaziki (it was too minty for my taste), but everything else was excellent. I'm so glad there is a good Greek restaurant in West Seattle again (I've really missed the old Kokoras restaurant). I'll be back for sure-have to try the Greek fries :-). read more
