If your looking for authentic good quality Mediterranean food- gyros this is not it at all. Their lamb shish kabobs taste like Burger King burgers, and their tzatziki sauce isn't even tzatziki sauce! When a new place opens with a name like "Gyro King"...well, that's a claim I just have to put to the test. Especially if it's just down the street from my house. To be honest, the gyros at Gyro King are not the nest I've ever had. But they taste fresh and flavorful, the meat (which you'll see shaved right in front of you) a well-spiced mixture of beef and lamb (chicken is also an option), and a creamy tzatziki sauce adds a nice zing. The chicken shwarma is quite tasty too, and the side items should not be missed. Be sure to try out the he greek fries (sprinkled liberally with herbs and feta) and especially the deep-fried cauliflower florets. The latter is a bit expensive, but trust me - well worth the price of admission. The place itself is clean but a little plain - a few tables and a few stools set up against a bar against the wall, a simple menu on the wall and transactions rung up on an iPad under the menu. The service is friendly and helpful. If you have questions, they'll be happy to answer them. In the back, you might see a large number of people working on different things, a bit chaotic, a lot like a family. Overall, Gyro King has the feel of a small, family-run restaurant, but lacks a sense of permanence. The front of the restaurant doesn't compel me to stay, but I'm more than happy to make my order and take it back home with me. I'm not sure if Gyro King quite earns the "King" title, but with a solid menu of good food and friendly service, it's worth a trip anyway. Welcome to the newest most tastiest place in Bremerton! In addition to the gyros and hummus, they have Indian food to choose from like Chicken Tikka which is great to see! I posted the takeout menu in the pictures section. Place was clean and very family friendly. Oh man, their samosas were GINORMOUS and delicious. Ordered the shawerma combo plate and it was delicious as well. Its good to have another Greek and Mediterranean restaurant nearby. I was really craving Greek food today, so I decided to stop by on my way home. I ordered the gyro plate because I didnt want the sandwich, and an order of Greek fries. The total came to nearly $17....so I get home and open my boxes to find a gyro sandwich (the opposite of what i wanted) the wimpiest salad I've ever seen, and some rice. The salad was actually good, I wish there was more. The rice was definitely no bueno, there was a spice in them that absolutely ruined the taste. The gyro meat was ok, dry, but had an alright flavor. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the gyro plate was just supposed to be the meat, not a sandwich. I was a bit peeved, so I took it apart and discarded all the sandwich makings and just ate the meat and pita. If I wanted the sandwich, I would have ordered it... The Greek fries were alright, but a bit insane that they were $4 for some fries and a little feta sprinkled on top. I think my favorite part of the whole meal was the salad dressing, which is most likely from a bottle. The portion was good but I'd rather have good quality food rather than something that tastes like scraps. Service is 2/5. Food is 5/10. Worst customer service imaginable. Placed an order over the phone and the person on the other end repeatedly interrupted me which made for a frustrating order. I was told each gyro sandwich was a combo and included salad and fries over the phone. When I arrived to pick up the order I was told fries, salad, and the gyro sauce pictured on their website were all extra. They argued with me and I honestly wouldn't recommend going. I'm sorry to say, but I have no idea why this place is still open. The meat is good, but I'm pretty sure they pre-make the gyro then heat the whole thing up when you order it. My lettuce, cucumbers and sauce were hot along with everything else and the veggies were soft and gross. My pita was soggy and gross. My guess is that the owners assume no one in Kitsap County knows how a Gyro should be so it's okay to serve sub-par gyros. Also, my fries were under cooked. read more

This is a pretty good option in Bremerton. The place is clean. The food is made to order. The lunch specials are very affordable. The only thing I took issue with is they charge a dollar for drink refills. But there just aren't a lot of quality options here in Bremerton for eating out, so I'm still giving this place five stars. Found out this place is Halal. The food is always good. The staff is friendly and kind. I have tried the Kebab dinner plate, the Greek salad with a side of gyro meat, the chicken nuggets and fries, the baklava, the falafel. My go-to meal after work is the salad with a side of meat. Hard to know what to make of this place. It's either grubby, or down home. The sloppy veggie gyro and the falafel are tasty enough that if the place were closer to where I live I would drop in from time to time, but not worth driving out of the way. In some ways it seems the ideal business to have Fairgrounds association, as there's more a sense of this being carnival food than authentic Mediterranean. If I'm nearby and hungry I will eat here again, so I'll go the four stars though my initial sense was it's worth three. Having baklava kind of wins the fourth star. read more

All but the bread, individually were pretty tasty; but because the meat and bread were assembled, bread on bottom, and covered in tzatziki, it was all pretty squishy (the bread was inedible) by the time we got it home in Poulsbo. :( read more

This place should be rated 2.5 stars out of 5 because its not bad but not really good. First the good. The fries were piping hot and perfectly done. The girl working the counter was very personable and pleasant. Bad - the cook was outside smoking when I arrived. He held the door for me and entered. He barely wet his hands no soap was used before he made my food. The meat was sliced about an inch thick and was cold. I was put off by the lack of hand washing. That's dangerous. I still ate it cause I was hungry. I could see through the glass wall into the food prep area and it looked clean so maybe he was just having an off day. I think he was in a hurry to help the girl in the front take my order as she was new (hired few hours before). My husband and I just grabbed food to go from here. The man taking the order was very rude. Clearly they have French fries pictured on the yelp app and people left comments saying try them. When we ordered them they man rudely said they didn't have fries. We also asked for extra meat on the gyro, he claimed he couldn't put extra meat on the gyro. If we are paying for it why not?! Besides the fact that the customer service sucks, the food was actually good. Which is way I gave it three stars. Too bad I won't be eating here again! First time I ordered here, via Door Dash. Perfect order, blazing fast, and the food was AMAZING. Perfect salad, perfect baba ganoush, perfect hummus, wonderful lamb gyro, great dolmades, delightful spinach pastry, and oh that delicious baklava! Very authentic Greek food! My only complaint is that they use little chopped pieces of lettuce and tomato in the sandwiches instead of slices of tomato and leaves of lettuce. That's the only thing I'd change! And a little more tzaziki, though its better than the last place I tried in Lake Stevens that drowned everything in it. I was excited to try Gyro King for the first time yesterday. Oh boy. What a mess. Overpriced tasteless slop. The gyro ($7) was what they claimed to be lamb and beef. I could not tell the difference because it was bland. Under the meat was shredded lettuce, onion, tomato, and one piece of diced cucumber that was all a wilted lump of yuck atop a generic pita and slathered with a weak ass sauce. Truly terrible food. I don't know what these other reviewers are griping about. I've had gyros from LA, the Bay Area and all of western Washington, and this is by far my favorite gyro place. The meat is tender and flavorful and the sauce they use is better than anything I've ever tasted on a gyro. Try it out. You won't regret it. Don't listen to the other yelpers who probably only write reviews when their experience is bad. The price point is so cheap you can afford to tip 40% and still end up paying less than any other gyro shop. There are ignorant reviews and then there are those that are just plain stupid. I'm speaking to those who have no idea how much gyros usually cost. $7 for a gyro is a lot cheaper than you'll find anywhere else. Even with a $3 tip, I still paid less than every other gyro shop I've been to - where I'm normally shelling out $15 with a 20% tip. This review is for the 6th Street Location. I went there for the first time a couple weeks ago and had an amazing meal and amazing service. I assume the gentleman who assisted us was the owner. I was so happy to find a vegetarian restaurant in Bremerton. I went back Friday January 22nd with high expectations, as our meal was so good the last time. I called ahead. The phone rang to many times the line dropped. I tried again. Same. I figured they must be having issues with the phone lines and drove in. The lobby was packed. Many of the people waiting were Door Dash drivers. I stood at the counter. I could hear the phone ringing and someone answering. I could see someone in the kitchen. Surely they would come out and acknowledge me. A door dash driver went out for a smoke and returned, bringing a cloud of smoke back with them. The person is back is still running around. The driver goes out for a second cigarette. And a third. After at least 10 minutes (possibly 15) a woman comes out from the back with her mask on her chin and slowly scans the room. She does not acknowledge me or anyone else to comfort us about the delay. She points to the man sitting in the corner. "Dan! You! Emergency kitchen help!" He slowly saunters to the back. I think she just asked a non-employee to cook. Once he is in the kitchen I turn to leave. A door dash driver says to me "yeah, I'd run from that too". Look, I've worked food service and I know how it is when someone calls out and it never feels like you'll get out from the weeds. If she had just spent 5 seconds to say " hey folks I'm short handed and doin' my best. I need to flip these falafel then I can take your order, rest tight". I would be less annoyed. But the kicker was grabbing the guy from the lobby for emergency kitchen help. Does he work there? Does he have a food handlers permit? Wtf? Solid no. I'm really disappointed because the falafel was so good. But I just don't trust them anymore. read more

Opening day. Apparently 2 people didn't show for work and the cashier is new but friendly n giving it her best. The line is a little long but hey, who doesn't like gyros? The food is slightly pricey. A gyro is $7 and to make it a meal costs $2.50. Other menu items include salad, wraps, plate combos and desserts. The boast chicken, lamb and mixed beef, and also fried items like fish n chips, chili fries, Zahra (fries cauliflower). It's a little disorganized but I support those that venture to make their dream come true. So please be kind to them. More to come on the food quality n taste. read more
