I decided to give this place a try for the convenience of it being down the street. I go to Greek Connextions in Bremerton which is run by a sweet man and his wife. I ordered the falafel and a gyro sandwich regular not jumbo. The tzatziki is plain and there isn't enough of it in the sandwich. Which made for a very dry sandwich. It also didn't help that my felafels were overcooked, hard and extremely dry. The gyro wasn't my sandwich but I did try the lamb which was flavorless and dry as well. I also had to wait 30 minutes to get my food just as well, she didn't have change and took a few minutes to go next door to get it. I am going to stick with Greek Connextions which yes they can have a long wait time which is usually why I call it in and by the time I drive out there my food is ready to go. But it's the same cost, significantly better and the sandwiches are more filling. read more

I got falafel that came with a salad and side of hummus. They were SO dry and over cooked they were like hockey pucks! I was very disappointed. The hummus needed more flavor. The saving grace was my husbands beef wrap and fries that were really good. I will be back to try it again. I saw a few other things I'd like to try. After eating here for about three day in a row, and then having finally gone inside.. I figured it was time to tell everyone how absolutely delicious their food is! Hands down a must if you're in the Bremerton area. The beef/lamb gyro is just so tasty (no onions). Also, I can't get enough of the fries and garlic mayo sauce they have- Mmmmm. Well... a lot has changed since new management took over. We ordered two gyros with fries, two greek gyro salads and two baklava and spent over $40 dollars. Things that were right; looks new and clean (even if the pictures on the wall are cheesy). Things that went really wrong; the prices are high, our gyro Greek salads did not have meat on them and the Klamata olives still had pits in them, the salad dressing requested on the side was forgotten, the gyros are very small and the tziki sauce was an odd green color. When I called to politely ask where the meat on the salad was a woman said, "It doesn't come with meat! You have to order it seperately. Read the menu!" So add the poor quality and rude service and ... I basically wasted my money. With so many great places to eat we will not be back to this place. The single star was solely given for the cleanliness. I could've of made something way better at home. It's not likely that the owner wants to make this right either! read more

The gyros used to be so good but the last few times we've been they are dry and bland. The hummus was also super bland this time. We always order the tzatziki on the side and ask to add feta cheese and every single time without fail we get our gyros with the tzatziki on the gyro and no cheese so then I have to ask for it again. Super annoying especially when my husband picks up a to go order and doesn't check before leaving. First world problem, but now I'm home eating a dry, bland gyro. We were semi ok with the missed tzatziki and cheese before because the gyros and hummus were so good but since they've been bland lately we will unfortunately be finding somewhere else to get mediterranean food. read more

I don't know anything about what a good gyro should taste like so I hesitate to review at all. However, we almost missed out on this place because we saw the poor reviews and almost wimped out. It was REALLY good. Other than he hummus needing some flavor (we added salt and crushed red pepper when we got home) and the French fries we got for our kiddo being under cooked (who orders fries at a gyro place anyway right?) it was amazing. We got the jumbo mixed gyro and some platter with lamb. The rice was awesome, the pita was yummy and the meat was SO tender and flavorful. After being turned away from Gyro Connections (see other review), I drove to try this establishment. I was greeted as soon as I entered and my order was promptly taken. Store appeared neat and clean with space to eat in. My food was prompt and the server friendly. I chose to take my food to go. I had the Gyro plate but must say how disappointed I was that the lamb is a compressed lamb product. Previously, I have only enjoyed Gyros with real pieces of lamb and the difference is significant. I have had gyros all over the USA and I have NEVER had such good food! I live in Port Angeles 2 hours away and cant wait to drive down again just to eat here! I grew up in Bremerton and the only place I can think of that had food this good was west side burrito connection (Mexican and no longer in business, BUT just as drool worthy!) This place is pretty good. Not the best, but not the worst. The prices are decent and the food is better than average. My order is always right and my food is always edible. Their fries leave something to be desired, but they're gyros are pretty ok. I haven't tried any other gyro places in the area, and I live really close. So this is my go to place. read more

My wife and I came to Gyro King after reading some decent reviews and were quite disappointed. We both ordered the gyro plate which consisted of gyro meat and veggies on a pita, along with a small salad and some jasmine rice. For starters, the gyro meat was luke warm, as if it were heated in a microwave. Not only that, my wife's pita bread was stale. It had the consistency of cardboard and was rock hard. The simple side salad was just your typical lettuce, tomato and onions with store bought italian dressing. The rice wasn't sticky at all, it was quite dry aswell. Scooping it up with a fork was quite a chore. We won't be going back. The lack of service was quite disappointing. No greeting upon entry or exit, or even checking on us while we ate our meal. Went there within two days of their opening. Logistically there is room for improvement, as there is for all new restaurants. The food on the other hand was very good. More variety than other gyro places in Bremerton which made me happy. read more

I *REALLY* wanted to give Gyro King 4 or 5 Stars. I love Mediterranean Cuisine, and I love gyros specifically, but Gyro King didn't preform. I went into the restaurant on December 31st, and it was empty. The restaurant itself is lovely, and clean. The guy who took my order was new. It took him over 5 minutes to enter my order into the computerized register - and he had to ask for help from another co-worker... I'm very patient though. I ordered 2 "Jumbo" Gyros, 2 sides of tzatziki sauce, and I got a small bottle of green tea from their beverage refrigerator. He said it would be about a 15 minute wait for my food (and there was even sign on the wall that said something to that affect) again, I am patient. So, the next 15 minutes, I am just sitting waiting for my food. A whole bunch of people come in to place orders. As I am sitting there, looking at my receipt, I see that they change me $1.98 for my small bottle of green tea, when it clearly says $1.00 on the beverage case. Now, I am not one to complain, but 98 cents is 98 cents. So I wait until everyone places their order and sits down... I then walk up to the counter - and another person in at the cash register. A friendly girl. I say to her, "I hate to bring this up, but - the ice tea clearly says $1.00 on the beverage refrigerator, but I was charged $1.98... (because it's a small restaurant, I'm sure everyone heard my conversation. She apologized and told me the other guy who took my order was new. She was trying to figure out how to credit me back - but I told her - 'it's ok, you don't have to credit me back.. I can just take another bottle of ice tea - to which she agreed. So, about 20 minutes or 25 minutes after I placed my order - - I finally got my food and left the store. Now, comes the taste and quality of the food. I am an AVID connoisseur of gyros. But, the overall taste of these gyros left a lot to be desired. I give the food a rating of "D+" MAYBE "C-" on a good day... The gyro meat was just blah. That is the only word that comes to mind. I really didn't want to be disappointed in this restaurant. And perhaps someday I will go back and give it a 2nd shot...but until then, I will be buying my gyros from 'The Greek Connection aka Gyros Etc" read more

I ordered a gyro (minus the pita) which is basically a gyro salad for the second time. It was great and I'll definitely order it again. I also ordered the fish and chips, which my son gives a 4 out of 5 and the zahra (fried cauliflower) which was crisp and nicely seasoned. Love that this place is so close to home. read more

Today was my first time in because when they first opened there were several bad reviews. So I figured I'd give them time to 'adjust', I ordered a chicken gyro and fries. When the plate arrived I opened it and I wasn't even sure what I was looking at. Definitely not chicken. No one was out front so I waited a few mins until the young lady that helped me brought out the next guys plate. I stopped her and asked if what I was looking at was chicken. She said nope. And the only other person in there opened his to find chicken. There was only two of us. She had a 50/50 chance. I had already picked through mine wondering what it was and I informed her of that. She still asked the other guy if he wanted it. They did make him new food and the food was alright. But nothing like the guy that makes them out of the gas station on 106. I have eaten here on and off since they opened. I have ordered many things off the menu, and the only things I can recommend to anybody, is the butter chicken, or the Gyros. The rest is over priced and taste nothing like authentic mediterranean food. Today we went and had the cauliflower which is usually very good. Today it was served in a heap of batter that looked more like fish and chips than cauliflower, and it tasted nasty. We also ordered the veggie plate, which had the worse falafel I have ever had in my life, and the prices are crazy high. Stopped in today for lunch, been craving a gyro for a week. A little hesitant about strip mall eating so I stopped here first. Despite the poor reviews we went in. The place was half full, a good sign. Large menu. The cashier came up front a few minutes after we walked in and she was courteous, welcoming smile and told us she'd be right with us. We ordered two jumbo beef/lamb gyros, an order of Greek fries, and a samosa. We waited about 15 or so minutes, enough time to read the Coffee News and the cashier brought our order and thanked us for waiting. The drive home was almost torture with the delicious smells that awaited. We first opened the Greek fries generous amount of mizithra and feta, salty but good. The jumbo beef/lamb gyro were huge. a decent amount of sauce and veggies and tons of shaved meat. The meat was flavorful and seasoned well. More sauce than I personally like but I like to order something as is until I have them modify it to my taste. Neither of us could finish. The samosas are very large, however they will have to wait till later for a taste. read more

Authentic Greek? No. Went for the Gyro and there were 3 things I didn't like about it. Cold meat, generic pita bread, bland taste. Also the soda out of their fridge was not cold for whatever reason. They have a lot(too many, like 25-30) items on their menu. Good Mediterranean places only need to get 3-5 food items right. However the service was fast and the people seemed friendly. I absolutely love gyros, especially having been to Greece numerous times and tasting theirs. This place is small but a nice hole-in-the-wall. Would not doubt that it's a popular spot especially when there are events happening at the fairgrounds. Visited Gyro King today at 7pm. The place was a ghost town. The young lady that took my order was polite and friendly. I tried the shawarma and the gyro taco. The shawarma was delicious. A little different than the shawarma I'm used to ordering in the Philippines, bot not in a bad way. The gyro taco, however is something I don't think I'll order again. I ordered takeaway and by the time I got home, the crunchy corn shell was mush. I live about 20 minutes from Gyro King, and I know I'll be back soon. First time having a gyro anywhere other than a county fair so consider that when reading my review. I found the girl at the counter to be friendly, she helped explain the menu to me. I ordered a beef gyro, 2 orders of fish n chips to-go and a slice of baklava. The gyro was fresh tasting, and hit the spot I'd order it again. My kids did not like their fish n chips and it looked like maybe friend tilapia? Definitely wasn't cod or halibut. I ended up throwing almost all of it away. The baklava was sweet and delicious- great with a little milk. Overall I'd go back but just steer clear of the fish n chips. read more

Food is really good. I'm a fan of the chicken shwarma and lamb gyro. They are very new and working out some kinks but it shouldn't detract from the food. Menu can be a little confusing to newbies. Tried Gyro King for the first time the other day. We live on Bainbridge Island and would go to Seattle when we wanted a gyro. We have now discovered Gyro King here in Kitsap and not too far away. Enjoyed the lunch special for $6.00! Lamb gyro sandwich, fries and a beverage. Great price and even greater food. I've had gyros all over the world and the lamb gyro was fantastic.
