Place was easy to find with enough parking. You walk up to order your food, and they assemble your order right there where you can see it. I got the chicken and lamb, and my wife got the lamb over rice. Both dishes were very good. They gave us the sauces on the side and we basically just went ham on it. Nobody was here when I came in on a Tuesday for a late dinner! Placed my order and the guy got on it quick! Received the food fairly quickly and was on and out in about 5-10 mins! I ordered the lamb gyro and it was huge - filled with the appropriate ratio of filling! Always get sauce on the side so it doesn't get soggy by the time I get home! Also ordered the lamb over rice platter with no salad! My toddler absolutely loves this dish and devours it, every single time and the portions have improved since the last time I've been here! Lamb was cooked well and the rice was flavored really nicely! Overall, I think they listened and made adjustments to accommodate, from the complaints I had previously! My husband & I walked here from MD Anderson last night & were so impressed by the food & Robert's friendly service that we had to come back this evening! Last night we got a platter & shared it because it was pretty late already. Tonight we each got our own gyros & they did not disappoint! The lamb is so tender & all the other ingredients are very fresh. This place doesn't look like much from the parking lot but it is clean & pleasantly surprising on the inside. Robert treated us like old friends joining him at his home, taking pride in the restaurant, the food, and the service. Loved it. We are in town for the Houston Rodeo and staying nearby at the Blossom Hotel. We walked 1 block to Gyro King. First impressions: 1. This place is really clean 2. They have a huge menu 3. Staff is friendly and helpful So right off the bat, they're hitting well in the areas important to me. I ordered a Salad with Lamb Gyro Meat. My wife ordered a Lamb Gyro. We found an open booth and waited for our number to be called. About 10 minutes later, we grabbed our tray of food. While your sauce preference is taken at time of order and applied as they make your dish, they also serve a squirt bottle of their white sauce. It was more like a ranch than a tzatziki sauce to me but it worked well. The portion sizes are large in my opinion. They don't skimp on the protein amount either. All in all, for our first experience at a Gyro King - 5 start. We'll try more of this chain when we come across them. read more

This place is in a tucked in are in the medical center. Had lunch here and it's pretty good. My husband and I ordered the rice platters. The chicken was not too bad but my favorite is the lamb. The lamb is seasoned well and cooked perfectly. For the price of $13 each, the platters were a deal because it came with a lot of food! They offer I think 10% off if you order online for pick up. I attended the grand opening of this location on 3/13. They did a great job organizing the event and had some cool giveaways. They also had face painting for children! The food we tried (chicken and lamb over rice) was typical gyro king food - delicious - just like their food trucks. I'd recommend adding a bunch of white sauce (it's the good stuff), and the red hot sauce (if you like spicy). Their menu is huge - hoping to try other items soon. read more

My wife and I ate here for a quick choice before diving into the craziness of the med center yesterday. We wanted something quick and reasonably healthy. We found Gyro King via Yelp and gave it a shot. The food was GREAT!!! This place is what Halal Guys wishes they could be. Food was awesome, the man behind the counter (owner??) named Robert was helpful and knowledgeable. He tuned our order to our taste at no additional cost and provided quick service. Portions were large and hearty, not just a ton of rice and little meat. Vegetables were fresh and clean. Sauces were outstanding. White sauce is better than many others and hot sauce was reminiscent of Valentina or Chalula, being a viscous sauce with more flavor than heat. Great spot, highly recommend. read more

It comes with some sort of red sauce that you can either get on top of the entree or on the side. I choose to get it on top and wasn't disappointed! Wow, this place is very impressive. The store is super clean and modern-looking, plenty of booth seatings inside, service is fast, and conveniently located in the middle of the Medical center, parking is easy. We ordered the lamb and chicken over rice platter combo, it was GREAT! The meat is well-seasoned and juicy, rice is fluffy and flavorful, and they give a generous amount of side vegetables (lettuce, tomatoes, pickled vegetables, olives) and they offer white and red sauce on the side, again very generous about the sauce too.
