We ordered through DoorDash. The majority of the food was good, and would be even better if we dined in. We ordered gyros, chicken shawarma, moussaka, fries, dolmades, falafel, hummus, fried mushrooms, and the three meat platter. The good: gyros, three meat combo, chicken shawarma, and falafel. The almost good: Greek fries, they would have been really good if we dined in, but we didn't, and the dressing made them very soggy. The flavor was great though. I suggest having the vinegar based dressing on the side for take out orders. The ok: tzatziki sauce (bland), hummus (bland), fried mushrooms (greasy), dolmades. The bad: moussaka, it had noodles, and no eggplant. It was pastitio not moussaka. It was dry and pretty unappealing. I am not a picky eater, I couldn't finish it. Exceptional place near UD. Have been recommended by a friend. This place did not disappoint. I got the 2 meat combo Gyro(5/5)- if you can tolerate spicy (get the spicy sauce on top). The meat was super tender and the portions are decent. The fries are amazing. Crunchy, fluffy and a hint of spice. The falafel was also good. I'm Greek so I'm pretty snobby about my Greek and Mediterranean food but my boyfriend and I came here for lunch for the first time and it was really good. For fast Greek food, I was happy with it. I ordered the chicken kabob sandwich on pita and he had a chicken and beef gyro on pita, which they cooked fresh in front of us. My pita was warm and the chicken was seasoned perfectly. They also put cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, lettuce and Tzatziki sauce on top. I also got grape leaves and we shared some delish seasoned fries to go on the side. We also got an Oreo mousse-cake for desert and it was good! It is a good location right near campus and surrounded by other good food places. It is also right near the bars, and open until 3 am!!!! The gyro was really great. Meat was cut thinner than I'm used to, great sauce, tomato and onion. Greek salad had Romain lettuce, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, olives and a great Greek salad dressing. The spinach pastries were really flavorful with onion and garlic flavors but kind of small. I met a friend here for lunch on a Friday in mid/late January. Not quite sure where their official parking is....but I found something and didn't get a ticket or towed thank goodness. Two people working and a lunch rush meant things movies quite slow. A third person eventually came to work the register, but she rang things up incorrectly at least twice during our wait. But I enjoyed my gyro and Greek fries. The portion of meat I got was pretty huge! The sauce/seasoning for the Greek fries was just a little heavy on the lemon for my tastes, but still enjoyable with everything else. Greek isn't really my thing. This was a terrible experience! I ordered the moussaka, French fries, and a medium coke. The moussaka was microwaved, old tasting, and flavorless. My wife and I got a Greek Salad, a traditional gyro, hummus, Greek fries, and dolmades to go. The experience was bad. We do not recommend Gyro Palace. First, the customer service was poor and unfriendly. Second, the portions were weak sauce. Nothing filled the containers. Just felt cheap. Finally, the food. The salad was pre-made. So, the tomatoes were soggy, the salad flat, and the overall taste underwhelming. The gyro was so greasy that it fell apart when picked up. And, it was disturbing how when the maker went to put it together, a significant portion of its meat fell on the floor. It was not replaced. The Greek fries were soaked. So much so that they drenched the rest of the take-out bag. The hummus and dolmades were decent, but they were both too oily. In light of all of this, please do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO to Gyro Palace. read more

Delish! Their pita bread is Amazing!!! The food was good and the service was fast. This is not a dine-in restaurant although they do have several small metal tables inside. We had original gyros with rice & salads. We also tried the dessert. The baklava cheesecake was good but the baklava was average (it was pretty dry). Hot and fresh pita bread - went amazing with the hummus. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get (I spent $36 on dinner and dessert for two, plus a side of hummus to-go). The food is quite good! But the staff doesn't mask, and I was greeted with 'What do you want?' after waiting an inordinate amount of time. The food is very good, but inconsistent between visits. Not all of the employees wear masks and when customers come in they do not care about if the mask is on properly or not. We would frequent the Gyro Palace on Airway in college and were very excited to see a location close to downtown where we live. The first time we ordered the food was fantastic! So flavorful and fresh. We have ordered several times since and have had some inconsistencies in how the order is prepared. This most recent time both of our meals tasted as if they were prepared without any seasoning and our tatziki sauces were half frozen. We will continue ordering from Gyro Palace but do hope that they become more consistent with the flavor and preparation of ingredients. read more

Was there yesterday and had a terrible experience. It took forever to get our food (no one in front of us) and when we got it, it was cold because the kid putting toppings on took his sweet ass time. The gyro and veggie pita were also very sloppily made. I asked for my money back, and the kid was laughing in the background the whole time like it was a joke i was unhappy. He also decided to run his mouth when i didnt ask for a full refund bc we kept the fries. He said " oh hahaha, so you liked the fries?" And was staring us down the whole time. Best gyro I've had in the Dayton area. I had the original gyro with rice. They shaved the meat from the spit right in front of me and toasted the pita bread. They gyro was loaded with a ton of meat and toppings and the Greek fries came smothered with Greek dressing and feta. Everything was delicious and super fresh.
