The breakfast focaccia was delicious - it had cheese, chili crisp, and a hard boiled egg inside. We also added some bacon. I really liked this and it was great to split for a light breakfast snack. They also have other breakfast items and lunch food. There are bookshelves full of used books for sale. The space seems very community-forward and I think I'd be a regular here if I lived nearby.

They have shelves of used books for $4.99, alphabetical by author. I found one to purchase. I came back with granddaughter for breakfast, but I wished we had gone to a different place, more of a full service breakfast joint. I had a breakfast wrap and a hot coffee. It was pretty good. The staff were okay, not super friendly.

There was no line, and he had been standing inside looking at the baguettes for a few minutes, by himself. Two staff members came out from the back and did not acknowledge him. A white woman then entered the store and was immediately greeted with "Can I help you?" My husband had clearly been there first. When he calmly questioned whether they intended to skip over him, he was met with defensiveness and told not to speak to the employee's daughter that way -- despite not raising his voice or being disrespectful. Being ignored and then treated as though he had done something wrong for asserting his place in line felt dismissive and uncomfortable. As Black customers, experiences like this are not minor. We value businesses that treat all customers with equal acknowledgment and respect. Unfortunately, this interaction has caused us to reconsider returning. We hope ownership takes this feedback seriously and ensures that all guests are welcomed consistently and fairly.

The waitress assured me it was beer batter...no sure where or how. The Ripper was fine but nothing over the top. I don't believe there were any refills offered either. When the bill arrived my CASH total was $14.39, I gave her a $20 and asked for change. She returned with five ones. I understand there is a round up, but to the next dollar? I don't think so. I may as well have just charged the meal. This was more about the principle of it rather than could I afford it. I believe it is better to pay cash, then the wait staff can get their tip directly and more money stays with the business. I think overall, they could have done better. Do I return, I'm not sure.

Yes, us Americans like sweet things all too often, but it didn't jive. Would have been better with a gouda or a Moroccan spice profile. Not true to menu - the fries were not herbed. Just plain ol' fries. The price of the tea seemed quite high, think it was $6? If you're looking for a burger, go to The Wildflower Cafe in Mason. They had a much different texture and taste than the ones in other parts of Ohio. The black bean soup was disappointingly thin and not very seasoned. The German potato salad is good. Food aside, I do love the ambiance here. I want to know the ghost stories. I want to know more about the history. It is so old and these walls have stories; I'm certain of it. The staff is very friendly. Parking is terrible, even at 3 PM on a Thursday. I really am torn between 3 and 4 stars, but having a great waitstaff is what bumps it up.
