Let me start off by saying I had the most amazing takeout service ever. The workers were very friendly, and explained the menu to me as I was indecisive on what I was getting. I ordered a platter of grilled chicken for $18.95 and that comes with a starter (Appetizer) and a side, so I got a spinach pie slice along side some rice. I also ordered a side of onion rings and fava hummus. The food was absolutely incredible! The chicken was grilled to perfection and the rice was delicious and plentiful. The onion rings are seriously a big deal, the taste and crispy crunch it had to it was just so good. The spinach pie was just as I expected it to be with the hint of dill and feta cheese inside is just outright delicious. I will say the hummus was not my cup of tea because it was not the typical Mediterranean hummus I order. It was Greek style with Fava so the taste was sweet and dense but that didn't stop me from loving this place. My food was ready in 20 minutes and as I sat in the car the very nice gentleman flagged me down to pick up the order but I had my son in the back seat of the car and couldn't leave him alone until my husband got back from the phone store. He walked my food over and across the street to my car without me even asking. That was absolutely amazing service! I truly appreciate that he did that. I'll definitely be coming back. I stopped by here with my instructor and a few of my classmates for lunch. I got the beef Gyro à la cart. It is a tiny location but there was outdoor seating which was nice especially on a nice sunny day. The staff was really friendly and moved some tables outside for additional seating to accommodate our group. The Gyro was really tasty and it was piping hot everything was fresh and flavorful. I have no complaints about my visit here the only minor thing would be maybe next time I will ask for some hot sauce even though it was not offered when I ordered my meal. read more

I find a a lot of gyros to be too salty but Gyro World has the perfect recipe! A bit too much on the tzatziki sauce but I just scraped some off. Their onion rings are fried perfectly. It has the perfect crunch without it being too oily. Their soup was just mediocre. I've had better elsewhere but it wasn't terrible. Service: 5/5 I ordered for delivery. It's better/much cheaper to order directly from them/their app instead of ordering from seamless. They give you promo codes for an even bigger discount! I called GyroWorld to tell them they had only sent 5 instead of 6 and that they're supposed to staple the bag they provide to the Uber delivery driver in order for the food to be safe. The lady that picked up the phone at 7:10Pm was very rude. She said it wasn't their problem and that the driver had stolen the 1 missing gyro, abruptly ending the phone call. Although I lived in ridgewood for three years now, I hadn't visited this place because, well, we're not really too sure! But then someone recommended it and said they have the best gyros ever. THEY DID NOT LIE. the cuts of meat in the gyro were healthy. Thick enough to have a nice bite of meat every single time. Delicious amount of tzaziki too! I bought some extra on the side just in case but didn't even need to crack it open because every bite was moistened with a nice amount of tzaziki already. The lettuce was nice and crispy but the tomato was cut too thick for my liking. Not a complaint tho! The fresh cut fries were nice and hot and yummy. It taste like they sprinkled some something on it. Some herbs. I could do without the herbs. The girl at the counter was also great. She went above and beyond beyond. One of my go to places on and delivery app. So good i even ate there in person while i was pregnant. In doing so I discovered at the time they had a B rating but dined there nonetheless and came out unscathed. So did my who's now 8 months and healthy.....anyway back to the food. I typically order the lamb and beef gyro platter and the chicken platter which my fiancé and I share. What I appreciate most about gyro world is that there flexible with their platter options. I love their lemon chicken soup and Greek salad and they allow you to have both if you don't want potatoes or rice. They're also very consistent. Haven't had any hiccups with my taste or quality. Three things that make Gyro World stand out compared to competitors. The first is the sheer size of the order. I was stunned by the amount of gyro meat they were able to stuff into my pita bread. And I'm from Texas where I am used to oversized meals. Absolutely incredible. Second, the tzatziki sauce here was damn good. I pretty much resolved myself to picking the individual gyro slices and dipping them into the sauce because it was so damn good. I'd definitely come back for that. Third, the brabant potatoes are certainly worth your time. These wonderful lightly crisped potatoes are accented with parsley and I believe just a hint of lemon and garlic.
