I stopped by this afternoon with my three kids under 10 and had a great experience. The beef and lamb gyros were honestly some of the best we've had in NY. Flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and packed with tender meat. Every bite was fresh and authentic. The souvlaki on a stick was also outstanding super juicy, smoky, and full of flavor. What really made the visit special was the outdoor seating area. It felt like sitting in a cozy hidden garden café. The space is decorated with beautiful wooden lattice walls, hanging baskets and lanterns. The kids loved sitting outside. Great food, welcoming vibe, and a really charming outdoor setup. read more

After a brag of a co-worker about their gyros, I decided to try them out. I ordered the pork skewer which was delicious, as well a a combination platter of chicken wrapped in bacon and lamb. It also came with rice and a soup and salad. The pork was great. The chicken wasn't anything to brag about but the bacon wrapped around it was a great touch. The soup and salad was also good. The rice seemed extremely salty and had a shrimp aftertaste as if it was cooked in same water as the shrimp. I went there on another occasion after reading the reviews that they sometimes have an "off-night." This time I ordered combo with pork and same rice/salad/soup. The pork was really good again but the rice was still extremely salty with shrimp aftertaste. Not to mention, looking at my charges and I believe they charge over 15% for a credit card order. I don't mind the 3-5%, but that shocked me. In the end, I may try them one last time or may want to go when the weather is nice to eat outdoors, but as far as recommendations, I'd give it a so-so. This was our first time going here, we decided to order a Gyro Wrap for takeout. At first the taste and presentation was decent, but halfway through the first half we found a lemon sticker inside our wrap... not sure how that even got in there because our wrap didn't include lemon. Gave this place another shot a few weeks ago (not by my choice unfortunately). I was sorely disappointed. I am unsure if they changed owners (made no difference with the food), but I still thought the gyros were not good--Chewy and tasteless. The spinach pie was okay, but I wouldn't order from there ever again. It's a shame, but there are better Greek places to eat, and the prices are not low! A lot of people told me to come here, said the food was amazing and that they had the BEST Taziki sauce. My review, meh. Seriously, not trying to be a douche. First, the place is filthy. Sure counter tops are clean and glass cases are wiped down but all the decorations are covered in grease and dust. Second, the food was Okay. The fries were good but they were soggy and looked like they had been cooked once already today. The flavor was there though. I had a gyro platter lunch special which included the gyro, fries and a soda for $16 which I think is a good deal. The portion size was more than adequate, but the flavor... I don't know. It was a good try but seemed to miss. To be fair, I was told that this place was a hit or miss depending on whos cooking so maybe this is an off day for them. If I am in the area I might try them again but I'm not going out of my way to come here... sorry. Oh and the tzatziki sauce, it was okay. There was a tartness I couldn't place. This place is a great solid greek food spot! Small but cute and food packed with immense flavors. we got two salads: the Greek Salad and Arugula Salad. The first thing i will say is i was disappointed to have gotten the chicken with my order as literally 5 bites of chicken as you can see in the pictures, were $6!!! i felt like i was biting pieces of an olympic medalist chicken. The pita was very very tasty with the hummus dip being extremely creamy. the salad came with a side of dressing, but for my people who like their salad extra saucy, you may have to ask for a second sauce as I did because it was dry before it. I'll preface by saying I really wanted Pita Station to succeed. God knows glen head needs some more variety in the culinary department. Ordered from here five times, and five times my order was wrong. I know, I know... "Fool me once", but the owner reached out to me through yelp several times to excuse them and keep trying and despite him coming off rather smug, keep trying I did. Every single time, my order is wrong. There is simply NO way that this is only happening to me, I mean, even a broken watch is right twice a day!! I would like to say the food is good, and several menu items are, but overall I'd say mediocre would be a better assessment. Certainly not good enough to forgive the repeated incompetence. Sadly, I'm going back to ordering from Roslyn, very done with pita station. Update in response to owners comments (1/27/15)- your complete lack of understanding of my complaints equates perfectly to the consistent missing/incorrect orders- it's quite clear you just don't get it. Never once did I complain about the temperature of the food(must be confusing me with another unsatisfied customer) . Missing feta cheese on salads and them coming consistently without dressing... You betcha! How does one eat a Greek salad without either of those items? The food was always good, up until today - when we received soggy pita sandwiches, missing side sauces and warm iced teas. We had been ordering from here for our company for over a year now, and today it took them 1 hour and 45 mins to deliver 3 sandwiches and a salad down the road from them (we are literally 5 minutes away). I was starting to think they were in fact delivering fresh from Greece, because it just didn't make sense. The delivery ETA given was around an hour, and every time I called after, all I received was an "I don't know, the guy left already, I don't know". We tried to get a refund and cancel the order, but the guy did not know how to process a refund and told me I could go personally pick up the money in cash - what?!?!? OMG. It was my first time here. Haven't had decent Greek food since I don't know when. I walked in and was greeted with the friendliest smile ever. The young lady, Kate, was very patient, I was ordering take out. She answered ALL my questions and had the patience of a Saint. 20 minutes later I was on my way home. I had to open my windows because it smelled so good I wanted to pull over and eat everything. Now we all know, food doesn't always taste as good as it smells. Such was the case here. 1 star because... it was packaged well. This was our first time ordering and it will most definitely be the last. Our food was inedible and was thrown away the minute we tried it. I ordered the pork gyro - if you have ever had a gyro before then you would know that this is not how it's supposed to look. They give you thick cuts of pork and the meat tasted spoiled (hence why it went straight to the trash). Fresh, delicious food & good portions at a fair price. My husband and I are huge fans of Greek food, but our usual places have disappointed us lately so we started ordering from here instead. This is our 3rd order so far. We have enjoyed every item we've ordered. The chicken here is single handedly the best chicken I've ever had from a Greek restaurant. It's extremely flavorful and perfectly grilled. Just tried Pita Station for the first time last night and I must say, I am impressed. Coming from Astoria Queens, I have tried my fair share of gyros and Greek food and this place will not disappoint. I would mainly suggest them for delivery or take out unless you want to sit right outside watching the LIRR. I can def say, service is great, and the food is tasty. I bought a falafel sándwich (I thought that it was going to come inside the pita but they just folded it instead like a gyro). Not impressed. The onion was cut too big as was the tomato, and the falafel balls weren't right either. They tasted fine but they must have been under cooked because they were mush on the inside almost like grainy hummus. There were no toppings which was a little strange because usually when I go buy falafel in other places there are toppings. When I asked about it the employee gave me a blank look and asked another employee if there was anything I could put on it to which the answer was just tzatziki sauce. This is my first time and the Food came out super quick! I ordered the chicken platter. It was very tasty. I would definitely go back for that. I would never eat in there again. I ate one meal in and took one to go. While I was eating literally 6 flies kept flying over and sitting on my food and on my legs and arms. They just wouldn't leave me alone.
