We had lunch here today, and it was excellent. The lady that took our order was very nice, the place was very clean, & the menu was displayed beautifully & creatively on a giant blackboard. My friend enjoyed a chicken sandwich and I had the BEST vegan bowl anywhere! We talked about why all the tables were not filled, and we both said at the same time: it must be the name. I would have not chosen to eat here if I did not ask the sisterhood chairlady at my Temple where they got the delicious wraps. I had lunch here 3 days last week. I visited my family, and The Pit Stop is within walking distance. The staff is friendly and working as hard as they can. However, lunch service can be a bit slow. We were there for over half an hour on Wednesday around 2:30 pm. I liked the cheese fries (however, I also wish they sold "small" fries, rather than only medium or large). I tried the clam chowder and it was delicious and very fresh. The clams were large and chewy. My uncle likes their burgers and hot dogs. Everything needed a little extra salt. Always consistently good. They now have bowls! Kinda pricey but the food is pretty good. Not a place you'd expect to pay $25 for a salad, but very good. I've been coming here since I was a teenager. Pretty much every time I get the crispy chicken panini. It's great. Great bread, tasty chicken, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, and literally the only balsamic glaze I will eat. Literally the only balsamic I will eat. Anywhere else, I'll send back anything which has TOUCHED balsamic. Here I lick my fingers. And they always do the fries right--don't have to ask for well-done, they just do it. Food was amazing! Definitely give this place a try if you like BBQ!!! The wife and I got the full rack of ribs and the fried chicken over a waffle. The ribs came with 2 sides of your choice and corn bread. Of course I also got the milk shake I would put the ribs up against anyones. Super tender, cooked perfectly and amazing bbq sauce. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Tasted great. The waffle was freshly made. The service we received was friendly and pleasant. One of my friends a few weeks ago said let's stop ar the Pit Stop Massapequa here for a salad. I ordered the blackened chicken salad minus the pasta (I watch my carbs ) is to die for. I normally get a salads from large franchises but for less than $15 I enjoy this "made with care" salad. I have traveled from Queens to get this salad. The workers are kind and they remember me each time I come in. While enjoying my salad today (the owner or at least I think he is) sat down and spoke with me about his travels and gushed while he talked about his wife. Got charged $18 for this salad and got a really rude attitude from the blonde woman behind the counter when all I did was ask why I was charged so much extra for shrimp when I didn't get chicken or bacon. I've gotten the same thing before and was charged $16 (still too much to be honest) and it came in a larger black container. The gentleman behind the counter saw me staring at their more than sufficient menu placards for sometime, so he pointed my attention to the daily specials in front of the register. I have to say several of them were tempting, including the Kung Pao calamari at the bottom: that was my choice. And the have to tell you, it was Delicious. I went to The Pitstop one day for dinner and was very happy I chose this place. The food was fantastic. I had the New England Clam Chowder soup and split Ribs and Chicken with my father. The ribs were cooked perfectly and the meat slid right off the bone. They were smothered in BBQ sauce and tasted great. The chicken was cooked just right. It was crispy outside and juicy inside. My boyfriend swears their butternut squash soup is the best stuff on Earth. They have a very extensive menu- which is a little surprising based on the name and the small venue. They're more than just quick fast food bites! Whatever they're doing, they're doing it well! We usually order the grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and whichever grilled vegetables. Just happened to pass by a few weeks ago and stopped in. Have been there twice since then for the $10 lunch specials which are great.

My boyfriend and I saw The Pit Stop on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and were so excited to try it! We were happy as soon as we walked in. Everything was so clean and modern. The gentleman who took our order couldn't have been any nicer, he was perfect. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and cheese fries. My boyfriend ordered one of the speciality burgers (the "All The Way" burger), onion rings, and a strawberry milkshake. Everything was phenomenal! I can honestly say that this wrap was the best wrap I've ever had. I think it even had some coleslaw in it. It was made to perfection. The cheese for the fries was also the best I've had. It exceeded all of my expectations. With that said, I only ate half of my meal (and I can generally eat an astonishing amount). I was happy later though when I got to eat the other half. Same thing for my boyfriend; he only ate half of his burger and onion rings, and made it about a third of the way through his shake. He was equally as happily stuffed as I was. The Pit Stop is now my new favorite lunch spot. They even have a bunch of healthier options for when I'm stricter on my diet. Visit Date: December 4, 2015 I wanted to try this place and I had my opportunity on December 4 when I had to stop by some place for dinner on the way back to my town to meet my friend for the Old Fashioned Babylon Village Christmas. I had told her the restaurants in the village were probably going to be way too crowded to eat in because of this event and it was better if we got food on our own before meeting at the event. I had the quinoa burger and cheese fries. The burger was excellent made of quionoa and various grains topped with avocado the burger had a fresh, healthy taste to it. The cheese fries were delightfully sinful yet very simple. They used a soft squeezy type cheese that sometimes comes with movie theatre nachos but the restaurant's version was a little bit above movie theatre nacho cheese. Combined with ketchup and armed with a tiny wooden almost fork I gobbled the cheese fries up like no tomorrow. There's also some healthy fare available here as well (I'm afraid I'm going to have to sample that if I go again because my new nutritionist isn't going to let me eat crap every day like I'm accustomed to doing). The atmosphere is road stop divey but clean enough to eat your meal inside if you wish. The staff was really nice. They let me keep my drink at the counter while I went to the bathroom when my dinner was still being prepared. Definitely a fan and if I have a chance to eat here again I will. read more

Decent better quality fast food spot that has a wide variety of food choices. Been here a few times and the food is always decent. Not awesome but decent for a semi fast food spot. Last time I was here I got the philly cheese steak and a side of sweet potato fries. Philly was good and a pretty big portion. Fries were also good. Little on the pricey side though. Burgers and wraps are also good, like the other food though a little pricey. Milk shakes look good however never actually tryed it. Overall a decent spot if your craving a better fast food option. I use to order here all the time. Today i ordered a Chicken Avocado Wrap.. Comes with Lettuce, tomato Avocado.. Med onion ring, and a small shake.. The manager took my order, never mentioning she can make that a combo for me i also asked buffalo style with crispy chicken.. Came to 22.00.. i called back realizing that that basically is a combo, asked if she could adjust price, which she did.. Was very nice about that.. But when i recieved my order, my sandwich was totally wrong, There was cheese and No Avocado.. When i called back to her she admitted the person who made the sandwich didn't put Avocado and added cheese.. Still wasn't what i ordered, but then she was like well we adjusted the price for the combo.. Which i appreciated but Still.... The sandwich wasn't what i ordered.. Surprisingly, the Pit Stop was not up for the challenge. Now let's not get ahead of ourselves. My lunch order was nothing crazy - a cheeseburger and a knish. When I ordered, staff asked if I wanted lettuce, tomato, and pickle. I responded no pickle, which was correctly noted on the receipt. Apparently the cooks interpreted that to mean "none of the above" because there was no lettuce or tomato to be found. Burger patty was flavorless and was most likely some kind of cheap frozen patty. The single slice of American cheese was not melted. And the odd brioche style bun was far too much bread for the paltry serving of hamburger. Knish was equally underwhelming. While it had the nice, golden crisp shell, the potato filling was dry and crumbly. It certainly wasn't like other knishes I've had. Am I willing to give this spot a second try? Maybe. But it won't be for what should be a staple of the menu. Nor will it be any time soon. read more
