The restaurant is very clean. The owner and servers are wonderful people. Very helpful with the menu selection and just extraordinarily going out of their way to take care of me as I hobbled in there on a cane. I love gyros in general. The one I got here was reasonably priced and full of the meat and other feelings. It wasn't quite as flavorful as I like my gyro, but it was good enough. When I'm on that part of town, I plan to go back again to try another gyro and maybe something else on the menu. Absolutely amazing service. Quick, helpful, and a complimentary, light lentil soup, I felt right at home. The food knocked me out of the park, and the portions were massive. They could accommodate my vegan partner easily, many dishes are vegan without feta! My leftovers barely made it home, I was delighted by this experience. We have been wanting to try Aleppo for a long time; finally went yesterday to get a to-go order. First impression - lack of mask compliance. There were 3 employees plus the owner. Only 1 employee had a mask on and the owner wore it below his nose. We made the mistake of looking at the 1-year old Yelp menu in advance and apparently everything had changed so they couldn't understanding what we wanted. The old Shish Taouk came with a side but not anymore. The owner wanted to charge extra for the 3 falafels side but reluctantly changed his mind when we mentioned it used to come with a side. They were over-cooked, dry, and hard as a rock so inedible (see picture). The Shish Taouk chicken chunks were also dry. The only thing I liked was the rice and hummus which is not saying much. The Sharwarna Max no longer exist so we had to explain that it was a pressed roll-up sandwich with some meat. Come on! It hasn't been that long ago. We ordered baklava but they took it out of a cardboard box (ie. not home made). We were told it would be a 20-minute wait but it ended up being 45 minutes. The staff seem inexperienced. It's unfortunate because we like to support local establishments but we will not be returning to Aleppo. Overall, the food was meh and prices were on the higher end for the small portion sizes. read more

Had heard good things about this place, and middle eastern is easily one of my favorites. It's so flavorful and varied. I was excited. First, they were sadly out of a lot of my favorites. No eggplant (moussaka or baba ganoosh) and no flatbreads. Boo. But on the upside, that they were out of both of those eggplant dishes probably means they make it all from scratch. So, highs n lows. We ordered the cauliflower side, dolma, Greek fries (who can resist those) and a veggie sandwich. Prices are super affordable and it was a perfect amount of food split between two. The veggie sandwich was a-ok. Not the best thing we ordered but satisfying. There were grilled veggies and fresh onion tomato and lettuce. The sauce could have used some tang though. The cauliflower was probably the most underwhelming. Compared to Zaina in Lake City, it was seriously lackluster. It was prepared well, but I kept expecting some more zing to the sauces. But onto the highlights. The Greek fries were amazing. Loaded up with feta and garlicy goodness that left my mouth smelly for a solid 24 hrs hahaha But the best! The dolmas. Oh my god. So much flavor. So packed with herbs and spices. And that dipping sauce. Whew. Definitely worth getting. Overall, not bad. We were both very pleased. I'm always on the hunt for good Middle Eastern food and Aleppo did not disappoint. Although the main sign and mini-mall location looked uninspired, I was pleasantly surprised by the super clean and well decorated entry and dining space. Once you enter, you immediately see the bakery case full of baklava and kanefa. There is an easy to read digital menu displayed behind the register and a modern point of sale system. The man who took our order was friendly, approachable, happy to answer any questions and made suggestions. I'm often am left disappointed when I order shawarma from other restaurants however, the chicken shawarma here is perfect. It is exactly as it should be, with the right kind of Arabic bread nice and warm, flavorful chicken, and then the right amount of sauce to make your tastebuds happy without overpowering the other ingredients. The Dolma appeared fresh and homemade, and my friend loved his sandwich as well. The kanefa was fantastic too (my favorite desert). The only disappointment was the baklava being factory made vs homemade. Will definitely be eating here often! read more

This is for a visit back on 6/16/20 for lunch takeout. I remember this being an awkward pickup experience being mistaken as a food courier upon entering. Learned that the food app I used, ended up costing more than listed menu price according to the counter person. During the pandemic, the last thing and not my intent to not have the appropriate profit go directly to the restaurant. Plus, I paid more out of pocket. In addition, I had to wait a bit to get my order too because of a large party dining onsite. Raced back to work to eat this pricey lunch and ended up not being overly impressed. A face palm experience all around. But based on other folks posting during this time frame and during the pandemic, clearly I was an anomaly and rare one off. Interesting that over a year later, this subpar experience still stands out. Two stars for the overall experience, one added star for the counter person educating me on food apps. Do not eat here. Place is under new ownership with an entirely new limited/basic menu, the food is not very good, and the service is poor. We went to eat gyros for lunch. They were offering a promotion where you buy one lunch combo, you get the other one half off. So we order two sandwiches (one that costs $12 and the other for $13), and a side of dolmas. Waitress One comes over to take our order. She had to ask us several times to repeat the order. Even though she had a pad she could write on, she didn't. She walked away to the kitchen after taking our order, then came back a minute later to ask us to repeat part of the the order again. Waitress Two brings out the food and she doesn't bother to say a word to us. We stop her from walking away to ask her for water as Waitress One clearly forgot and is nowhere to be found. Mind you, this is a full restaurant with tables that offers both dine in and take out as an option. She says they don't have any water, only bottled water, and that they charge for it. What?! We never receive the dolma. No one is around for us to ask, and at no point did anyone check on us. We are literally the only customers in the restaurant. When I go up to pay, the cashier (that's also Waitress Two that dropped off the food) charges me for two gyros. I tell her about the promotion, and she takes the entire second sandwich combo completely off. I tell her that the promotion isn't buy one get one free, but buy one get one half off, and that she has now undercharged me. She then rings me up for the two items costing $12 and now $15. I tell her the other sandwich is only $13, not $15. Instead of making the adjustment, she tells me that's what the register is ringing up as and that's what I need to pay. I show her the menu that reads $13; and she argues that it's $15, that she can read that the menu says $13, but that there isn't a $13 option on the register so I have to pay the $15. What?! I tell her I don't care how much the register rings up the item for, but the menu says $13 and I'm not paying more than what's listed on the menu, and to just charge me for whatever costs $13. I also told her I was being honest for even correcting her about the promotion, and could have walked away just paying for one. She eventually finds an item for $13, gives me my new total, all the while being frustrated and rolling her eyes. As far as the promotion, she then just takes off $5, vs $6 (half off the lowest sandwich). Not sure how she went from incorrectly charging me, to undercharging me, to overcharging me, and then not even honoring the promotion fully. All the while giving me attitude as if I was in the wrong for wanting to be charged accurately and not wanting a small business to lose money. The food is not good, and the service is even worse. I have just finished the lamb kabob plate at Gyros Kebab Grill. With all honesty, I cannot recommend this place to eat Greek food at. I will say the food was fresh, but that's the only plus. Service was decent and fairly quick. First of all, the amount of food that I received for the price I paid was underwhelming. The skewers were supposed to have lamb but they tasted like beef. If it was lamb, it had to have been the toughest lamb I've ever eaten. The parts that were chewy, chunks of gristle. It sure gave my jaws a work out. The rice was decent. Flavorless and dry. Paired with tough, chewy meat. The tiny salad had four or five pieces of romaine. No oil, no vinegar, no nothing on it. The hummus was decent. One solitary olive. The pita was quartered and grilled, I think. It was not light, airy and fluffy. It was dense, dry and tough to chew. What should have clued me in was the place was completely empty. However then I received a notification that there was another delay and that I wouldn't get the food until 30 minutes after the "delivered at the latest time." Upon receiving my food my delivery driver said that she thought the restaurant was so busy that they likely misplaced my order. But to add insult to injury, only part of my order was delivered. I ordered 3 main dishes, 2 sides (hummus and pita) and baklava. Only 2 main dishes and the baklava were delivered. So I waited over 90 minutes for two gyros and baklava. Finally the fries that came with the dish were cold. However I still have them 3 stars because I thought their gyros were delicious and generously portioned. But the guys at Aleppo were sooo gracious. SO accommodating. They seated us in their freshly-cleaned (for the holiday party) dining room. They took our weird order (sauce in the side here, substitute tabouli there, mint yoghurt drink for the fat guy, etc...), told us about their food, and served it up with pride and precision. The food was mouthwateringly perfect. Saucy, hot-and-savory shawarma served street-vendor style, not in pita but in a flatbread roll, grilled golden brown, sliced for ease of eating and sharing. I subbed tabouli for fries (a salad I love) and it did not disappoint; coarse-chopped parsley, garlic, fresh lemon and a rich olive oil, perfectly seasoned; it complimented every bite of the chicken and lamb shawarma ("Shawarma Max"). The shawarma could have benefited from more sumac, maybe, but the salty pickles, and their exemplary protein control (quality meats, especially the lamb, treated with care and NOT overcooked) put the dish in very rare territory for me...This is what balanced, careful shawarma should taste like. It totally set the bar! Great service. Pride, not just at the counter but ON THE PLATE. Clean store, and all health recommendations followed for covid. Boo yah! My family found Aleppo Kitchen on our mission for great Middle Eastern food in the area. We have visited three times since July. Suffice it to say, we love the food! Our order today included a lamb shawarma, a lamb takeh, and a falafel sandwich. Each dish we've had has been consistently as delicious as the next! The well-seasoned, quality lamb was cooked perfectly. The rice with the lamb takeh was al dente. The pickles, peppers, and olives balance the flavors perfectly. We are quite particular about hummus and falafel. The hummus was creamy and rich in flavor. It wasn't lacking in garlic or dominated by tahina. What seems to be sumac added an almost citrus flavor. The falafel were the perfect moisture and flavorful. The doughnut shape ensures even cooking. Our previous orders also included the shawarma max, baklawa, and za'atar mna'aesh. The baklawa was perfectly sweet and nutty but not heavy-handed on shortening or butter like many are. We've even started making our own za'atar mna'aesh on our homemade pizza night! Overall, they are portions for the price. Beyond the food, the restaurant is very clean with face mask-clad employees, floor markings for physical distancing, and provided hand sanitizer. I highly recommend Aleppo Kitchen for its efficient and friendly service. We look forward to our next visit and all of the menu items we'll try next! We really wanted to like this place. We first went months ago before Covid and did dine in. We knew they had just opened and still had some things to work out but thought they would have figured it out by now. The food wasn't outstanding, but it was good enough that when we recently wanted some Mediterranean, we thought of this place. So we decided to come back. On our last visit, we got the lahm bi ajin, the large mixed grill, tabouli, hummus, and the fries. The tabouli was okay (very lemon forward), the hummus tasted a lot like tahini, which wasn't necessarily bad but it was a bit overwhelming, the lahm bi ajin tasted so sweet it was difficult to eat, and the mixed grill had a lot of overcooked meat on a bed of really tasty rice. The rice may have been the highlight of the whole meal. They also put way too much sumac on the mixed grill that we essentially had to eat through a layer of this spice just to access the food. The fries were great. Good garlic sauce and balance with the feta. It appears they cook the food fresh, but it was not worth the $75 we spent all in. Service was slow at times even though we were the only ones really there. They have outdoor seating and the place looked sanitary. We will continue our search for our go to Mediterranean place. First of all, let me start by saying that I used to love the food at Aleppo. We've gone probably a dozen time in the past year. They had a lot of options, and all were delicious, such as the shawarma max, lamb kabobs, falafels, garlic sauce, etc. The service was a bit slow, but the food was worth it. It was our go to for middle-eastern food. Then, yesterday happened. We order on Uber eats at 7pm, and then, around 7:50, the order is cancelled. We are a bit dumbfounded, we know that Aleppo tends to run a bit late, but why cancelled? So we call the restaurant, and they blame Uber on this. Ok, so we tell them that we will still pick up the order and pay there, but apparently, the order was never received, and they say that they don't make half of the items on our order anymore. Ok, so that's weird, as the restaurant obviously confirmed the order when it was received from Uber eats. However, we still order things, part of the order was the half-chicken. I arrive, realize that it's brand new menu, and they say that the order is being prepared, so I pay and wait in my car. Then, 20 min later, nothing, so I go up there, and I am being told by two employees: - the chicken is not cooked properly, so they had to restart it - the phone order was not placed here, but at another location (not true, I paid for the order at the place, and saw the order sheet with our order) - this is a new menu, they don't have everything yet (they had two opportunities to tell us that) - they told us on the phone that they don't have the half chicken (not true, again) but we insisted (we didn't, we would have been ok with anything else) - they called my wife to tell them they didn't have the chicken (not true, again) So I ask for a refund, and as I leave, they give a random bunch of kabobs (not in our order) and fries. So apparently, from what I've learned, the Gyro Express owner bought the place, and didn't change the name, probably to keep the 5 star Yelp ratings? Uber Eats also told me that the cancellation came from the restaurant, almost one hour after they confirmed it. And they have the wrong menu on Uber Eats as well. We will not be returning to this place, and will tell everyone to avoid it like the plague as well. They were blatantly lying to my face, being disrespectful and just not customer obsessed at all. They went from an amazing restaurant to just another middle eastern strip mall food. Stay away. PS: the food was also bland, overcooked chicken and lamb. Food is DELICIOUS yet great value! We ordered Aleppo Plate. Which can easily fit a family of 5 (picture attached). All 4 salads were fresh and delicious. We had a nice meal here after doing some car shopping in the area. The first thing that caught our attention was that it was very clean. Between the three of us we ordered a gyro sandwich, chicken kebabs and the 1/2 Chichen plate. The gyro sandwich was good but the meat was not very hot. The chicken kebabs had good flavor, but the chicken chunks were quite dry. The best was the 1/2 chicken plate - the chicken had good flavor and was moist. The hummus side on the plates was also very good. So, I would come back here to eat again, but would probably not order the gyro sandwich or kebabs. I liked a lot of the food I tried here, but it is very inconsistent so sometimes it's very delicious and sometimes it's only okay. Shish Taouk: 3*-5* depending on the day I've had a really delicious version, with tons of succulent meat, flavorful rice, and some hummus and salad. I haven't figured out what the difference is, but it had been a surprise every time I ordered, which isn't the best. Chicken Shawarma sandwich: 2*-4* depending on the day. I used to get big, juicy sandwiches with sauce and veg. But lately, I get sad little wraps with dried pieces of shawarma and nothing else. That's when I ultimately decided to stop ordering this. The worst version was just terrible and I felt like I could just buy deli meat and tortilla and it would be better. Too bad, since the best versions were pretty delicious and the garlic sauce this comes with is just *chefs kiss. Baba Ghanoush: 3*-4* One of the better baba ganoushes I've had and has been pretty consistent every time I've ordered it. Unfortunately, they sometimes forget to include the pita, which is annoying and would drops the rating. Falafel sandwich: 2.5* It was fine, but nothing to write home about. The falafel itself just completely fell apart, so it was more of a ground chickpea wrap, very messy. Flavor was fine, but if the falafel can't hold up, it's not truly falafel so had to take down stars. Gyro plate: 3* Not particularly memorable, except that the gyro was quite oily. It was fine, but not special. Cheeseburger sandwich: 2.5* I should have just ordered at a burger place, that's really my fault. The meat was spiced with Mediterranean spices, but for some reason that made the meat taste off and it might have been over mixed as well since it was a little tough. Not the worst burger I've had, but certainly not the best. Wouldn't recommend. I'd say roll the dice on something else instead. Greek fries: 3* Pretty good, with the flavorings on top. Fries themselves could have been more crisp. All in all, there is some good food here, sometimes. The restaurant needs to up their consistency, however, so it might be a dice roll. read more

The grilled chicken tasted weird and it has a strong vinegar taste. The salad is anything but fresh, the cucumber is really old, Tabouleh does not look like tabouleh , ingredients are not fresh and it is not what you expect from a Middle Eastern restaurant. The Muhamerah looked like cat food, and it taste disgusting. Overall this is the worst food I had in Seattle in 10 years.
