Tried to order a "Sunday Dinner" they've been promoting on Facebook. Very difficult time getting someone to answer the phone as they have an automated service. When someone did answer, they were so rude and dismissive. I could hear them saying to someone in the background that this wasn't their thing! Someone else got on the phone and told me to order it through Facebook. I told them I wanted to place my order with a person. I could then hear someone in the background yelling, "what does she want?!" I told them to forget about it, I wouldn't want to put them out and they hung up on me! Rude, rude, rude!!! read more

This was the worst customer service I have ever had. I called in a order and in the phone they were rude. They said the have to have a credit card to hold order. I told them I would pay when I got there. I walk in the door to find out they ran my card. Again they were very rude. I asked for a receipt they said it's in the bag. It has no total of what they charged my card or anything. They said they can't give me another receipt. So I leave get back to work to find half of the food was not in the bag and what was in there was very nasty. I will never go back there again. read more

This is springfield's best kept playful secret. The guyros are awesome, in fact I would say they are the best guyros this side of the Mediterranean River. The customer service is always top notch as well, I usually try and order from the chick in the dodgers hat, I once had something in my eye while ordering and she thought I was winking at her, so she threw in a free corn dog. However, now I think it was just an accident because I tried it again...mission failed! There's a guy named Frankie that works there, he looks like he might be down, so I'll try it on him next. I looked online before I ordered so that I knew what I wanted when I went in and two of the four things that I ordered they said they didn't carry anymore and the cashier was quite shitty about it. Well maybe you should update your website and also not be rude to the person who is spending their money in your establishment. Sometimes basic is good. This is a little shack with a few seats and a small kitchen. Nothing is fancy, but it's always been clean and the people working have always had a smile in my encounters. Puzzled by some of the other reviews as the staff have always been warm and welcoming in my experience. I've been going here for years to get a gyro, and they never disappoint. But last time I was in, I ordered my gyro and as I waited, two customers walked in and each ordered a cheeseburger. Then someone in the drive thru ordered a cheeseburger. Left me wondering why people were coming to a place called gyro stop for a burger. Today I learned why... delicious burger. Fresh ground beef. Fresh toppings. It was a great burger reminiscent of a 50's diner. It's pretty ridiculous that no matter which location I go to my order is alway messed up! Last time I asked for only cheese sauce on my horseshoe they put cucumber sauce on top of the cheese sauce! Today I go to the Macarthur location express what happen my last visit At Monroe and they still messed the order up!! The man tells me I can come back for the lettuce!!! Had a bad lunch at one of my favorite food stops in Springfield. Stopped in 9/15 at the MacArthur location and ordered a gyro and fries, pretty simple right? Apparently not. I typically sneak a few fries on the drive back to the office but did not do it this time. And I should have!!! GS makes awesome fries but today they were limp and soft, almost spaghetti like. Seriously the worst fries ever. The guy cooking must be in training as this batch of fries should never have crossed the counter. Wish is snapped a pic. If I had been at the restaurant, I would have asked for another batch or more time in the fryer as this order was the worst I've ever been served. Gyro was good but did not have enough sauce on it, which is unusual bcz this place is typically very generous with toppings. So was a little bummed but kept eating. The two guys behind the counter today were young and fresh, nice guys but need more training. One cook, one cashier and I didn't see the owner today. read more

A steaming heap of gyro meat, a varied array of fresh vegetables, and a glob of my favorite white sauce comprise this meal. The beautifully orchestrated clash of flavors between the sweetness of the tzatziki sauce and the saltiness of the meat will eradicate any hesitations you may have had about foreign cooking. My sole qualm lies with the pita bread itself. The bread lacks the character that the rest of the ingredients bring to this dynamic dining storyline. Ate lunch for the first time here with my grandmother. The prices seemed comparable to other gyro places in Springfield. The staff was friendly. My gyro on the other hand tasted kind of funny when I ate it but I thought it was because of different seasonings. I was wrong, I ended up horribly sick to my stomach about an hour after eating there. It was the only I had ate that day. Due to the food being bad and making me sick I had to cancel plans for the rest of the day and spend the remainder of my day near the closest restroom. I will not be eating here again. read more

I love gyros, so when I saw all the great reviews for this place, I had to try it. I don't think it's horrible, but it's definitely not the "best gyros this side of the Mediterranean River", as one reviewer stated. I was really hoping this would be a hidden gem in Springfield-it's not. Who leaves tzatziki sauce off a falafel? Also, pickles really? Then again, the owners aren't Greek or Mediterranean. Greasy, inauthentic, dirty restaurant, and the customer service is severely lacking. We've visited several times since we live in the area but we gave up. Food was ok. French fries are basic. After waiting for 20+ minutes in the drive through, I got my food and rushed back to work in order to have time to eat. this being only 3 blocks from my office I wasn't anticipating arriving with only 15 minutes left of my lunch break. Unwrapping the Gyro I was dissapointed. The items on it were just "thrown" on. Tsasiki sauce was only on one end. The sliced onion pieces were the ends of the onion (saucer shaped) and at the other end. Although the gryo tasted good after re-arranging the items within, I would expect a higher degree of care when putting it together if I am waiting for half of my lunch break for a simple sandwich. And also for them to throw out the waste scraps of vegetables instead of using them for a sandwich. Yanni's on Stevenson drive is a similar wait time, but the quality and taste are much better. read more

Food is usually pretty good. Let's face it: my son has been demolishing their gyros since 9 Months. However, we waited in the drive-thru for over 20 minutes. The service has been slow the past few times we have eaten here but not this bad. I'm not going to say we will never go back, but it won't be soon. read more

These are by far the best gyros in Springfield. Always a good lunch choice. These gyros are everything I'm missing in life. They complete me like no man will ever be able to. Stopped by last night to pick up food to go. It was my first time, I had heard about it from a friend. I got the gyro sandwich for my daughter and the falafel sandwich for myself and large fries. Sadly to say, the fries were the only things we liked. My daughter says the gryos weren't the best she has had. Yanni's on Stevenson are better. My falafel sandwich was in one word, horrible. The falafel balls were undercooked and tasted like I would imagine what spackle would taste like. Two thumbs down. I would not go back again. read more

I visited Springfield today for the first time and stopped here with family to eat. I had to write this review simply because I don't even think this place deserves ONE star! I live in Indiana and compared to our local gyro place... I definitely didn't get even close to what I expected! All of our food was cold, French fries tasted horrible! There was literally four pieces of gyro meat on my gyro that was way overpriced! When we asked for more meat we had to pay 7.00 for it! The bathroom had an awful smell. The tables were dirty. The gyro meat was not only cold but too hard... Almost like beef jerky. I am a huge gyro lover and I can't believe this place actually had any good reviews. Maybe the people who worked there during the shift I was there today just weren't the best... Or maybe locals around there just are used to this.... But I really wish we would have went somewhere else to eat! read more
