The store is a mess but I needed socks and a pair of shoes for a trip so I ran in to get what I needed. After twenty minutes of not being acknowledged (keep in mind it was a Tuesday night so it's not as though the store was swarming with customers), I finally found an employee who was very quick to tell me to hold on because she was helping the one other person who was in there. Fine... Completely understandable. Except for 16 minutes later I had to find her again only to have her tell me the item I was looking for was only on the mannequin and not something they carry in the store - she then quickly dismissed me and walked away. So 4 of mannequins are wearing the same shoes but they're not for purchase. Why are the mannequins wearing something they don't sell? I found another pair of shoes I wanted and took them to the cash register to ask the girl behind the counter for assistance. Shockingly, she too was dismissive and extremely rude. Instead of helping me find what I needed, she reprimanded me for taking the shoe off the mannequin (which I normally would not have done if someone was there to assist me) then she left me at the register with the rest of the items I was ready to purchase to go put the shoe back on the mannequin. When I asked if she could ring me up first, she said "no... I have to put this back on the mannequin" and didn't seem the least bit concerned when I walked out of the store without buying anything else. I'm not really sure what the fixation is with their mannequins or why their employees feel so comfortable being dismissive and rude to potential customers but that will be the last time I set foot in there. To top it off, the store is mess, the clothes are cheap and both the employees I dealt with looked unkept... Not exactly what ignites the spending spirit in customers. H&M has decent quality clothes that are also very stylish. The best part is the price; it's actually affordable. This store is smaller than the one on the other side of the bridge. Since it is smaller, the clothes are closer together and there may not be that much space to shop. The lines may be long at times especially on the weekends or when there is a sale. Staff is usually fairly patient. Otherwise it's one of the more affordable shops at South Coast Plaza. read more

They are located by Macy's home. Selection was ok. Store was a little messy and kind of hard to find things. Their prices seem higher than I remember however I noticed the quality of the clothing was very good. I got a very cute skirt. I love their hair accessories too! I got a floral head piece. fashionable clothes for an affordable price? count me in! this H&M is MUCH more fashionable and aimed towards the young and trendy than the one on the side of the main mall. they always have my favorite ruffle-y skirts~ i try to get all the cute ones! and the accessories are so cute at this one! although the service isnt GREAT...(i never see an associate on the floor...but then again, do i need one?) the selection is great and theres rarely a line at the fitting room..unlike the one in the main side of the mall. my main gripe is the fact that things on the mannequins are "display only"...umm ok..why have them on display if you dont even CARRY them? i saw a pair of shoes and asked a sales girl..she told us all of the shoes are shipped here from sweden...umm..ok. we went outside and saw a mannequin in splattered leggings..we asked a sales guy..he tols us that sometimes what the mannequins wear are just that...a display. wth? just put plain black leggings on the mannequins then! you're a clothing store!..use your merchandise!!! read more

Been here many times before! Don't expect anything amazing here. This H&M is located in the South Coast Plaza Mall. It's on the third floor of the building. Parking is quite easy as they have a structure lot. The venue has two entrances, one for women's clothing and one for men's clothing. You can enter any side because both departments are joined together. Upon entrance, depending on what time and day you come here, articles of clothing may not be organized neatly. There have been many visits where clothes are just everywhere and not in the correct areas. There doesn't seem to be a lot of staff members going around to clean the store during my visits here. Most staff seems to behind the register all the time. Service is ok when talking to workers. Checkout is quick and efficient with no hassles. Overall an ok location, but needs focus on the little things. read more

I don't come often but when I'm looking for nice dressy clothes like for business or something, I come here because it has jackets and pants that are nice. The sizes run a little smaller than other places so watch out for that. I usually find what I'm looking for so guess that's good. read more

Summertime clothes are baaaaack, and I'm in love! Yay!

Although I am a fan of H&M, my last experience here on Monday was not pleasant. The Customer Service here is HORRIBLE and I do not understand why these people work here if they dislike their jobs so much. I received a really cute top from my Mom for my birthday, which is mid-December, but it was sewn crooked, I tried to find another one in the store, but could not, so I decided to go with a different top all together. I was also purchasing a jumper and a pair of shorts, so it wasn't like I wasn't spending any money. I wanted to exchange the top I had but wanted to know the price first. The sales associate at the register could have easily scanned the item to find the price, but instead she tells me to "hold on" and comes back out to inform me that the top is $19.90. I knew my Mom had paid more than this. She then proceeds to scan the item, which comes up for $34.95 and she says, "Oh, hold on, I can't give you that much for it," AFTER she has already issued me a merch credit for it! So, let me understand this, even though an item rings up for a particular price, that isn't really the price, the price is whatever the person in the back says it is??? I tell her to forget the whole thing, give me the top back and I will return it at a different time because I know my Mom has the receipt. The sales associate then has to cancel the transaction where she issued me a merch credit for $34.95 and I have to RE-PURCHASE the top I'm trying to return with the merch credit but I can't apply it to my new purchase?! Insanity. When I go back to clear up the issue, I am asking to speak to a manager, first off. So if you have a return, be prepared to be haggled and a bunch of attitude given to you and to not receive the amount back that you or someone else paid, because God forbid someone has to make a return in the retail world! read more

Wow it's been a long time since I have written a Yelp review...but it is time to get back into it! As other reviewers have said, there are two H&M stores in both the main mall and Crystal Court. I personally prefer the Crystal Court H&M because it is bigger and has a variety of clothes that range from work/professional to men's and teenagers...oh and let's not forget those babies and toddlers! They have to stay in fashion, too! There are always great finds in H&M and if you sign up for their mailing list, you can get emails with 15-20% off coupons! There is always a sale rack and if you're lucky enough, you can get away with a good handful of clothes. I just got back and left with a very cute and tailored blazer for work for....*drum rolls* $16 and some change! Of course, I used my 20% coupon, thank the high heavens...or rather H&M corporate, I suppose. Anyway, it CAN be a hit or miss, but if you're in need of cute women's or men's work attire, you can always find something at H&M. read more

I love love love the clothes here and they are so affordable and nice! But I will admit I would have liked it better if there was more employees on the floor asking if I needed any help or simply welcoming me in the store. Instead, I had to search the store for an employee to ask for help. I know it sounds like I'm being lazy, but in retail, those are rules employees should follow. I work in retail and we are so big on welcoming in costumers and always being there for them. If this specific H&M could do that, I would have given them 5 stars. Camille and Jeremy were so helpful when I went in to H&M to look for a black button down shirt for work. They called every store in the area to see if they had the shirt I wanted in the size I needed. They went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. The following week, I went to H&M to return a skirt when I realized I had lost the receipt on my way into the mall. I was so upset and I went and told Camille what had happened and she was so helpful and helped me with my return. She went out of her way to make sure I was well taken care of. Camille is so consistent and even remembered me after only having met her one time prior. She is so pleasant and helpful. Wonderful experiences! read more

This H&M location is very conveniently located on the third floor of the South Coast Plaza on the other side of the bridge. Very upscale location and a three part room separating the genders and age differences. I have shopped here numerous times and have never been let down. read more

i first found h & m while traveling in Europe and lamented that it was not in LA. well it's here and just in time. the regular priced items are about the same or cheaper than what you may find at Zara but the quality is not as good and the items are a little more "trendy" but there are still stylish basic pieces to be found. anyway - i was surprised that this H & M wasn't a mad house like all the others i've been to. i managed to find 2 shirt dresses that happened to be on sale. I thought that i'd pay around $40 for both since they were already marked down and was completely ok with that. nope. i walked out of the store w/ the 2 dresses for less than $20. now that's a sale. read more

Went to this location to buy some cloths and one of the manikins hands fell off in front of my friend and I. We thought it was actually funny so we started to put the hand back on and took the other one off to see how to put it on. An employee Jamie which is a supervisor came up to us and was extremely rude. She said "I know this may be hard to believe but the manikins hands don't just fall off you can exit the building and give me the hands." I said excuse me what is your name and she says" Jamie and you can go ahead and call customer service" as she snatches the hands away and walks talking with her back turned towards us. First off the hands falling off is a hazard so we were helping if anything. Second for her to talk to a grown man that had spent a ton of money in H&M like a child. Not ok. They closed the store 10 minutes early and then Jamie goes to the cashier and tells them don't take anyone else after my friend that was actually buying things. Jamie is a liability to happy shoppers, customer service and poor management skills. She is losing money for the company not gaining. In today's market there are plenty of people that would excel in her position with ease. H&M please review your management and customer service. read more

This review is for the H&M in the main mall, next to Bloomingdales. I understand that this is not Nordstrom, so I wasn't expecting exceptional service, but what i got was kinda ridiculous. I didn't feel like spending more than $15 for t-shirts that I'm only gonna wear while lounging at home so I bought a couple of shirts at another H&M location. It turned out the shirts fit weird (xs was way too tight yet the s fits like a bag) so I went to this location to return them. As it turn out, they can't take back my items because they don't carry all the inventory at this location and it would be way too much hassle for them to fill out paperwork????? What. The. Hell? Nowhere does the H&M return policy mention this, and the manager covered in hello kitty tattoos gave me so much attitude for even bringing the items in. After me questioning why they cant take my returns since their return policy says i can take it back to any store, he then reluctantly agrees to return them, while giving me the bitchiest glare/sigh/attitude combo. Seriously, fix your bitchass attitude and customer service skills. Will not be back. read more

Lot of people here are right! The customer service here is aweful! I only had 2 items on my hand and the cashier was free but instead he sent me to the busy cashier, but i only had 2 items in my hand he couldve helped me out real quick, then 10 mins later im still waiting and the line form which he ended up have to come back and open another register. I gave hime the bad and im pretty sure the receive was in there but for some reason it gone, i just bought it last night it should still in the bag, not saying that he took it but seem pretty fishy. Bought a hat here and when I came home the censor was still on. I went to the h&m at the block because it was closer to my home to see if they could remove it. They claimed they didn't have a gun to remove it. I ended up having to just rip off a piece of my hat with the censor attached. How does one store carry a censor remover while another one doesn't? read more

H&M has become one of my favorite shopping spots of all time, but Jessica Nisewonder has made it that much better. The last few times I've been there, she's gone the extra mile to make sure I had all the sizes I've needed along with offering fashion advise while not knowing if what I tried on looked right. Most of the people that work the dressing rooms are willing to help, but she does proactively which makes it so much nicer and comfortable. She's good with everyone that shops there, and I will continue to shop with her. She's a gem and I hope that H&M appreciates what she is doing to positively brand the image of the company and South Coast store. read more

The clothes are fine it was the customer service (or lack there of) that got to me. Most of the employees stood in groups talking to each other and complaining loudly. I was never asked if I needed help or even looked at. When I tried to check out there were numerous employees standing near the registers but only one of them was working and there was a line! Very dissapointed in the way they handled a recent Versace event which allowed Men to enter before woman (thinking they would buy only the mens collection) Who then proceeded to nab up all the designer womans clothes to sell on Ebay ! I think they also should have put greater limitations on purchases to each customer to insure fairness. Next, Staff was very uninformed with when you could line up as well as other details etc. Last I heard, from local designers in South Coast, H&M quailty is known to suck, but hoping the Versace was not cra.... , so maybe it was for the best but I am upset . Dressing Room - Poor lighting; Needs 3 way mirror; Needs CLEANING/VACUUMING!!!!!

I love H&M because of product variety and affordability. However, this particular store at South Coast Plaza is much smaller and mainly carries more professional/business attire. They do have a great selection of fashion jewelry and accessories, compared to the H&M across at Crystal Court. Which is why I stopped in today to purchase a hat that caught my eye from the window display. I was able to find the hat immediately and proceeded to wait in line for check out. At 10:20am, there was hardly any customers so the wait time wasn't long. However, the cashier who checked me out was incredibly rude and non-responsive. I greeted her with a friendly "Good morning! How are you?" and all I received was no eye contact, no response, and no acknowledgement of my presence whatsoever. The only words exchanged were "Your total is..." No "thank you" or "please come again." Now, I understand retail is not exactly the most glamorous, exciting job in the world. But having worked in retail for 5 years myself, that (lack of) "customer service" is unacceptable. Maybe she just wasn't a morning person. *shrugs* All that matters is I got what I was looking for and I probably won't be returning here again. read more

Love their clothes and their sales are awesome. I shopped at all the stores in New York many, many times and was so excited they came to southern California. I spend good money at their stores and I would expect some sort of customer service but not once have I had anyone ask me if I needed help, hello, thank you...customer service is not good at either South Coast location. I'm pretty self sufficient when I shop but someone offering help occasionally would be nice. 4 stars for their products and 5+ stars for their sales, 2 stars at most for customer service. read more

I really love this store in crystal court. I always shop here everyone is usually nice and helpful. But the only reason I can't give this place a 5 star is because of a girl by the name of Katie that happens to be one of the managers there. I was very disappointed with her service. I had placed a pair of heels on hold. When I approached Katie and asked her if she can please give me my heels so I could try them on. She told me No that I had to go to the cashier and have her get them for me. I then said but she is busy with a customer and has a huge line. She then responded "we'll you can wait and ask her". One thing I also want to mention Katie was very close to the register from where my shoes were on hold I mean steps, but it was too much for her to take the time to grab them for me. That really upset me because I didn't want to go up to the girl at the register and ask her to get my shoes and people in line thinking I'm cutting in front of them. I waited she was never available to get my shoes for me. Not her fault poor girl she was the only one in the register. After waiting like 5 minutes I saw another employee who worked there and asked him if he can please grab the shoes for me, he rapidly said yes and grabbed them for me. so the long awaited h&m finally opens in the oc. i headed there on friday just a few days after it opened and it was packed. i can't imagine how bad it was on opening day, or on the weekends, but on that mid week day it was fairly packed with rabid shoppers that looked bargain hungry and deprived. the store is pretty standard h&m, though a little more tidy than the worn down locations in ny, chicago, and scandinavia (give it a few months, it should look the same). anyways, like it's swedish counterpart ikea, h&m can be hit or miss. sometimes you can find decent stuff, other times you walk out empty handed. i was able to find a few good bargains this time, though i wonder how long i will shop here.. the appeal with h&m before was that you could get some inexpensive clothes that you wouldn't see everyone else wearing. i doubt that would be the case from now on. read more

there are two different locations at south coast plaza: the main mall location is EXCLUSIVELY a womens boutique. they carry only the following concepts:accessories (some shoes) h&m trend: higher price point, trendier pieces focusing on the latest runway looks, h&m everyday, h&m modern classic: updated classics/work wear, and finaly, &denim. this location is kept relatively tidier then the crystal court location. more on that later. the crystal court location is NOT a full line store, but is significantly larger in size. the store is organized as follows: accessories (no shoes) divided red and black (womens juniors) and divided black(young mens), h&m man (gray label) featuring sports wear for men NOT formal suiting. *on a side note they WILL fold your blazers and slacks due to no hanging garment bags. but who cares i just bought the perfect party blazer for 69.90. fold away. mens LOGG (label of graded goods), more "functional" pieces for an active lifestyle, then ladies everyday, ladies modern classic, ladies LOGG, and the kids department. the kids department is organized as follows: baby 0-18 months, LOGG boy and girl, then h&m boy and girl 1-8 years. no, this location does not carry sizes for the ages between 8 and 16. (bev center does though.) most of the shoes on the mannequins are not even h&m. they are only for display. the customer service here is horrible, but the way it was explained to me was that this store is self service. this is not reflected however in how accessible some of the garments are. on any given day it seems like they are cramming most if not all of their backstock onto their sales floor. by midday, its a free for all zombie fest of go back runners and over zealous bargain hunting consumers treating the store like it was a k-mart bargain bin. its a dmv atmosphere, i wont even lie. the price points are very reasonable but not at the expense of TOO much quality. i think they have a bad reputation for being cheaply made. (this is probably why people treat it like k-mart). there are alot of pieces here to create some really bangin' outfits, if youre creative enough. if youre arent creative enough , dont expect an associate to help you out =( if you can handle the large crowds, and are not a high end fashion whore, shopping at h&m is always fun. otherwise steer clear. denim fanatics: dont go here you'll die. also as a funny footnote, beware the h&m elitist. they are identified by how much they talk about how h&m USED to be great, and how they've shopped h&m before it was everywhere- good for you. at one point h&m may have been your secret weapon, but not anymore. i think h&m is opening up like 10 more stores in the next couple years in socal alone. so to you i say: stop crying cause h&m is the starbucks of the clothing retail world. The worst h and m store to go to!!!! Staffs are insolent, impudent you name it!!! It makes me sick every time when i only go to that store. I loose all my interest to shop there. This one time i was shopping with my mom and there was no body to help us at the dressing room so we helped ourselves. When we were inside this girl pounded at our door crazy and were so mean when i told her get us different size. I told the manager what was happening. She didn't even do anything about it. When we were confused and trying to leave, i left my phone accidentally. And when i came back to get it my phone screen was completely scratched. I didn't even wanted to say anything bcs i was done dealing with them! And this last week after 6months later that incident, i went with my best friend bcs she needed christmas ball dress. Exact same thing happened when she wanted to try her dress . The girl who was helping her in the dressing room was so rude. My friend tried conversation with her about the dress. She didn't even respond to her. She thought she was maybe racist or something!! I will never ever go to that location ever until they change it to nicer staffs! So sad!!! read more
