If I could give them a negative zero I would!! Basically the worse experience ever! Was given a promotion to use and told by rep that I could still have the same return policy but because it was promotional (coupon) I could go get store credit for all the items purchased. Returned my items yesterday and they never said anything and I basically lost all my items that were originally purchased! The cashier didn't say a word and only told me to skip my cc and I only got back whatever additional I had to pay past the promotion! The worse part of the experience is that if he just told me before hand that it wasn't possible to get the credit back I would have understood, instead I loss close to $250 worth of credit. That may be chump change for some people but for something be that values every penny it's the worse thing that h and m could ever do! Would never recommend this store. This place almost defines moderately expensive preppy (not to the point of Forever 21, but close). While I love shopping here because they actually have small sizes that fit people who aren't overweight, I know it's not sustainable in the long run because of the price of everything. However, I will say that I love getting cardigans and pants that actually fit here. I love how the clothes are generally tailored to slim fit sizes, but I have to agree that customer service is super slow, and there's generally only one cashier on duty. read more

They have a pretty good selection. I only bought a sweater because I didn't know it was going to be freezing in Daly City! Lol. Coming from Vacaville it was hot that weekend, when we got to the bay area that quickly changed. Why not shop ;) I browsed and found many cute pieces. It sucks that I had to invest in a sweater during the summer, but I guess that's how it is when you're near the city. Final thoughts: go for it! I've been here a few times and everytime I came here, the men's section is always so disorganized and it is challenging to find the size you want. This makes me want to just shop online. The fitting room associates were friendly. However, the sales associate wasn't helpful. I saw a student discount sign when he was ringing up my stuff. So I asked about the student discount and asked if it was too late. He hesitated like "man I have rering the stuff all over again" and said "yea it's too late" they should honor the discount especially during the transaction. Can't he reopen the check? I'm really happy that this H&M location exists. I never really went to the Stonestown location & the downtown locations are a hassle to get to sometimes. The store is huge; I love it. Good selection for women & men. I especially like that there's a kid's section towards the back of the store. They have some really cute kid's clothes :) Wish their accessories section would be a little bigger, but it's no biggy. It's usually clean for the most part. Maybe towards the end of the day it gets messy, but that's normal with any retail store. read more

This place is dumb as hell. Wanted to try on a hat but the anti theft sensor was in the way. Asked 2 different people to remove the sensor so I can try on the hat, both said that they cannot remove the sensor until hat is paid for. Sometimes, this H&M is a havoc in the clearance section, but today it was nice and tidy. Yes, if you're shopping for clearance stuff, expect to do some work digging! You get what you work for, right? I walked out so proud with the deal I snagged today :). Lots of cute lace bra sets and panties are on sale. Anything with a red tag (sale items) also have an additional 50% off, so that's half the price. Add in the application I have on my phone for an immediate $6 off, I got two bras and a panty for $3.27. No joke. Super cute :) For example, if this is a $5 red tag item (which does exist!), http://www.hm.com/us/product/08985?article=08985-F then it is technically $2.50. Go do your sexy V-day shopping NOW. The cashier was also really nice and not complacent to using my phone application for the additional $6 off. I re-examined the bra and panty to see if the colors matched (since the fabric didn't). She said that typically for suits, they'd add an extra color in between the two similar colors, and you would not even be able to see the difference. I swear, this H&M has to be one of the shittiest locations I've ever stepped foot in. I'm always shopping for business casual attire since I work in a office. I decided to look for some dress pants and had a few to try on. After trying on the second item, I felt some weird sensation on my leg and I felt like my leg was burning, so i quickly looked at my leg and the pointy part of the sensor tag from the dress pants was exposed and it had the sharp metal sticking out. I was fucking pissed off. So I quickly put my pants back on and stormed over to the sales associate and told her what happened. She seemed like she didn't give a shit, so I demanded a manager on duty or who ever the fuck was in charge of this store to talk to. I waited and waited until this short Filipino guy with an accent came up to me and I told him what happened and he basically says "oh, people try to steal things and take the security tags off" AND???? do you have a fucking first aid kit or band aid? I can tell he did not know how to react to this situation which I understood but the way he handled this was completely immature and very inconsiderate. Luckily, I had some ointment with me to seal the cut but DAMN, the people that work here need to get trained on customer service and replace that short Filipino guy with a different manager cause he's a fucking joke. read more

I've been going to this H&M for years and it's always been really messy and gross. People haven't been friendly and I stopped going a year ago. Recently I came in and there has been a HUGE CHANGE and this is now one of my FAVORITE stores. Go to this H&M instead of Powell or Stonestown. Powell is too crowded and Stonestown is too small. This is the place to go for H&M in the San Francisco area! I've also met the new manager and she's super helpful. Probably the reason the employees are so much more friendly and nice now! So I have a couple problems with this H&M but I'm absolutely NOT gonna say "oh don't even bother going in". It has some REALLY cute pieces and if you make sure to just keep in mind that H&M clothing is never gonna be "good" quality, it's definitely a great place to shop. Also I do just want to say before I get into the problems, the customer service is NOT one of them at this place. The employees at this store are really nice and helpful but also maintain a comfortable distance so it doesn't feel like you're getting hovered over. As someone who is really introverted, that's a MASSIVE bonus to be honest. My problems with this particular H&M are 1) the layout of the store is a bit jumbled and could use some work and 2) they often don't have as many options in my size range. Now I'm not plus size, just a bit chubby and I'm only 5'4" so fit can be kinda difficult. Jeans are by far the most difficult. I'm a size 12-14 in jeans usually, but my hips are HELLA wide so a lotta H&M jeans just aren't proportioned for me. But finding ones that do work can take forever because unfortunately H&M the UK sizes, so my jeans are usually around a size 32-33, sometimes even a 34, and I've rarely ever even FOUND a size 34 in this store. They have a LOT of different styles of jeans and cuts and all that, but no matter what type of jean it can be hard to find anything above a size 30 in here. It's just annoying and I dislike it. So yeah, if you're one the larger end of the size ranges, it might not be the best for you. But if you're on the smaller end, you're probably not gonna have to deal with that problem at all. read more

Customer service here is shit. Yep, not "the" shit -- it's shit. Maybe I'm a little customer service snob but seriously, the people working here and rude and I feel like they don't know their shit. I mean I guess the people at the fitting are okay but they're only leading you to your fitting room so whatever, that's not hard. What I want to talk about was their own mistake. I saw this cute sweater that was marked down than the regular price and ALL the ones I saw in every size were marked the same. Went to go ring this up and the guy tells me it's not ringing up the price that's marked. He seemed to befuddled and had to ask his who I assume to be his manager about it? AHEM, when your own company marks something wrong, that's entirely your fault and he should've just marked otherwise. Then that manager he was talking to looks around the floor and eventually tells me she can't honor it? Why the fuck can't you honor it? ALL the sweaters in that color are marked that price and baby girl tells me that's not one of the colors on sale yet. I don't know if the fashion police told her yet but bordeaux is a fall color and it shouldn't be a surprised that it IS on sale. Whatever, I didn't want to bother because that's just false bullshit in my book. REALLY disappointed because I've seen this happened before and it's ALWAYS been honored. I guess that's what happens when you have kids run the store. Please excuse my foul language, but I KNOW customer service and any place that doesn't serve it well can kiss my ass goodbye. read more

As soon as I heard that H&M was gonna open at Serramonte, I honestly believed, "My god....Serramonte is gonna ruin H&M." I mean, come on, Serramonte isn't exactly a high-end fashion mall. It's just a hangout for kids from Oceana high and Westmoor high. So when I came here to shop in the men's section, I had to side-step a bunch of baby-faced teenagers wearing super-skinny jeans just to browse around. And that's another thing, what the hell is it with 16-year-old kids wearing super-skinny jeans now? I admit, I wear skinny jeans, but I have a limit, I make sure to wear skinny jeans that feel loose and don't hug my thighs, but these super-skinny jeans are like jeggings for guys. Back on topic, the store layout is nice. It's cool that they have two entrances to the store that separate the mens and women's sections on both sides. However, their men's section isn't quite as big as the Powell St location, but they have enough merchandise in the DIVIDED line to hold me over. I kinda feel bad for the associates working the floor, because kids keep unfolding all of the shirts laid out on the display tables. I would definitely come back for future purchases, but I might stick with the downtown SF location, just because I have a lot of history there. Not like bad history. read more

H&M always has great deals.. I love the kids section.. that's the first place I head too. I'm a mom and they always have the cutest selection of Hello Kitty clothing for my little girl! They have a ton of cute boy clothes here as well.. For the Black Friday weekend they were having 50% off certain selections..I didn't find anything during my past visit here, but I will surely find something next time! read more

I come in every now and then to this H&M instead of the stonestown one. I got the worst customer experience ever that I just had to make a Yelp account to warn others! I needed help finding this one item that I bought online and asked this one girl (tall and skinny, looked filipino) with a nasally voice, Long black hair, and kind of unprofessional clothing, almost skater type or at home clothes in such a known fashion place. I've seen her a few times before but never interacted with her until this! I asked her if they might have this item because I know that sometimes they get some online items in their shipment and she just raised her voice at me saying they don't carry it. I simply asked if she might know if any other H&M might have received the item and she said in the highest tone possible that I cannot find it anywhere and said bye in the rudest way. She could have said it in a nice way and did not have to get loud. I wish I caught a better look at her name. First time at this location. No men's registers open. Took a few minutes for two staff standing nearby to tell those of us in line that the registers are closed. The only register open is in the women's section. Line is seven deep. I can see six other staff on the floor. I like H&M but this store hopefully is just having a bad day. read more

The low ratings and some distasteful language in some comments had me blown away. I had a pleasant experience when I visited this store. Went in about a week and a half ago because I heard H&M was having a fabulous sale and I happened to be in the area having lunch with friends I decided to stop in because I had a return. I haven't been in the store in a very long time because I now live on the other side of the bridge. Was I surprised !!!! I have no idea who is in charged but this store looked incredible compared to what it looked like the last time that I came in. There was absolutely nothing on the floor nothing piled on displays and not super cluttered. The staff were extremely friendly. When walking in Immediately got greeted by the first sales associate that I seen. Not only did they greet me but they said if I had any questions or needed any help feel free to ask. Wooooowww!!!!! A gentleman Latino and Tall (bad with names sorry) helped me while I was in the fitting room. He was incredibly helpful called another staff member to help me with sizes also grabbed items in the sale section I could not reach. When I reached the check out line it went really fast. When I got up to the front of the line to check out the girl that helped me was very friendly (again bad with names) young Filipino girl with curl hair. I had a return But didn't have the receipt, I asked if she can look it up by my credit card but unfortunately she said that they could not. However she said that I could get a store credit she just had to call a manager and just needed my ID. I waited less than a minute before the manager came up to check out. She greeted me with hello and a smile looked at the item and did the return for me. NO PROBLEM!!!!! When walking away she said have a nice day. (Manager had beautiful nails and tattoo on hand). This may not be a big thing to some people but in a lot of other stores there really rude when you're trying to do a return especially if you don't have a receipt the fact that they didn't even question me or try to give me attitude was so refreshing. They treated my return as if I was just doing a purchase. When walking out the original sales associate ( young male, with glasses and hair in a man bun style)who greeted me when I came in told me to have a nice day along with another sales staff member who was cleaning. (Sorry didn't good a good look at this staff member but female) Overall I was really impressed with the sales staff and the customer service that I received. And even though I was shocked How clean the store was I will say it's a lot more outdated then they're new stores. Definitely needs a little bit of a facelift H&M CORP! Again I have not been in here for about five years and it has not changed when it comes to the actual design of the store. I will visit this store next time in the area. read more

I absolutely love coming to this H&M rather than going to Stonestown which lacks inventory and the one downtown. I was pretty excited when I heard that they were opening one at Serramonte cause I feel like that's like the only store that they were missing. It's pretty big and it's so easy to find things here. I finally found the jacket I've been looking for here, thank god! I can't help but look at their children's clothes since they have a lot of CUTE Hello Kitty stuff. I know for sure when I have kids, they will be fitted with all their cute stuff. Plus, they have a men's section now which beats Stonestown, ayy! read more

If I could give this store no stars, I would. This is by far the messiest, dirtiest store I have ever been in. Clothes, accessories, everything was on the floor. Spilled drinks and food on the floor. Truly, I have never seen such a disaster. It looks like a war zone in there. It's been like this the past couple of months. I had to buy a gift for a friend, and after leaving the Serramonte Macys (yuck...is this the same store as the one downtown? hard to believe..well that's another review) I wandered into H&M. Now, I'm not a good shopper when it comes to picking gifts for the opposite sex, but I walked past the first section and found a black lightweight jacket that just called to me "buy me..I'm the perfect gift" So I did. And it was under $40 which I thought was a great purchase. The only drawback was some "music" (and I use that word verrry loosely, in other words, cRAP) blasting out of the speakers. read more
