2 stars because I'm generous. It is not because of the store itself that the ratings are so low, it is because of the crappy customer service I get every time I go to this H&M. First, that bouncer or guard needs to go. All he does is just glare at you and not even smile, I know you're tired and stuff but whatever, it's your job suck it up and be nice. Second are the sale associates. Every time I walk into their store, all I get is a rude glare or a glance. They never ever greet you or smile, they just look at you, like you're some ridiculous circus animal. All they do is mind their own business and do their go-backs. They don't give a s*** about you at all. I don't think this should be considered an outlet... Their clothes are the same prices at their retail stores. I mean c'mon, I saw this cardigan that was super thin and crappy quality... for $30. Seriously? Seriously? I mean I love H&M clothes but I don't love their prices so much. All I do at this H&M is just look at what's in and that's all. I'm just waiting for the online store to open now. read more

What more can you say about h&m? This store has a huge selection of women's clothing for an affordable price. A plus is that this store always has my size in stock! I love their scarfs and accessories! I took off a star for the customer service. The employees here are not as friendly as all the other h & m stores that I have been to. Overall, 4 out of 5 stars. i've only bought bras here. there's a room with just bras and underwear here. i'm trying to move away from the victoria's secret types of bras since i don't think they work or fit nicely anymore. i didn't try the bras on here but i bought three and tried it on before washing. i must say that they are very nice. i like the way they feel and they actually fit well...not like the VS ones that are gappy and not flattering...AND yes, i know my size and i know what bras to buy but vs is not the once that fit me. i will probably be back. you'll find me in the bra section since it's too dmn hard finding anything i really like out of their regular clothing selection. read more

I'm just thrilled that there's an H&M close by. I do agree with the other reviewers who commented on the women's lackluster selection; more work clothes than "party" clothes. But they have a wonderful children's section. I can definitely do major damage every time I come here. read more

I love H&M...and this one in particular. They always have a good selection of things, great sale section and they carry Divided, the men, children and baby's lines, as well (unlike the H&M at Santana Row). My biggest complaint about this store is the layout. The lingerie section used to be tucked away in its own room towards the center of the store. For some reason, they decided to rearrange the departments and put the lingerie section in the front half of the store...beside the registers...which is probably the most populated area of the store! H&M offers a wide variety of clothing at competitive prices, but I was pretty overwhelmed by the size and layout of the store. The storefront seems innocuous enough, brightly lit, and with fashionable clothing, but the actual store goes back for miles and miles. The front section seems to be mostly clothing in variations of black, the middle had more casual daily wear clothing, while the rear of the store actually offered children's clothing. I picked over a few racks, and did like some of the handbags and prices of shoes, but the racks were sooo overstuffed with random pieces of clothing, I hightailed it out of there. Anyway, even if I did find something I liked, the line was quite long (is there really only one area for paying?), and snaked amongst the displays of clothing, ending at god's knows where. Eh, maybe on a weekday morning, it wouldn't be such a dismaying place to shop. I'll have to stop by to check out workwear, however, I found the quality of items to be only so-so. I'll tell you the truth...I come here mainly because I need new clothes for clubbing. You know how clubs are with their dress codes...Collar shirt, nice jeans, boots. So I come in usually looking for a nice button up or a nice cardigan which are usually dirt cheap. Also, since i'm shorter than the average male, this place helps me a lot. Usually people will go to Gap, Banana for something nice...But they are overpriced in my opinion. Then there's Express. It's a shame that their smalls are really not that small! This location doesn't carry a large volume of clothing compared to SF. They do have great clothes, cute selections, and great prices. I find a few tops and accessories here that I buy on a few occcassions. Best time to come here is during the weekdays. Weekends, you'll have to wait awhile to use the dressing room. Staff is pretty friendly and their customer service is so-so. Clean and organized. read more

If you're a girl, you might like this place. If you're a dude, clothing for you is scarce. If you see something, and like it, buy it. Chances are, it is not going to be there at the end of the day. Seeing as it is mainly women's clothing, you ventured in because you are holding all of your girlfriends bags, and she needs to find a shirt for that party you are going to on Saturday. All the other previously bought stuff from the mall is for work. So here you are, stuck with the men's section that you don't want to browse because the stocker with the faux-hawk keeps winking at you. There is nowhere to sit. Why don't girl's clothing stores have places to sit? Then, when you want to sit at the base of a mannequin, they kick you off. What the F am I supposed to do? Howabout this table, it's pretty short, like a bench. Nope. Got in trouble again. So I am supposed to stand here, holding 4 bags, one of which has a handle made of string that is conveniently holding the heavy stuff and is cutting off circulation to my fingertips. Come on, stores in the mall, give us guys some benches or couches to lounge on. read more

I am a sucker for H&M. The one at Santana Row only has conservative clothes (first off I don't even know why an H&M is at S.R.). I never come here with a list...which may be why I leave here with $100 of stuff. There's a large selection! From business attire, to casual wear. Even lingerie! The staff is very friendly, especially the fitting room staff. They never seem to mind fishing around the store for the last small in the store. I don't come here to buy things like jeans or other items of clothing I invest in. This is more for trendy pieces and accessories. I still prefer going to the city, but I can settle for this location! read more

I love shopping at H&M, so if this review was based on the clothes alone, i would give it 5 starts. It's even better when there's a sale! I work in retail and theres nothing worse than bad customer service. I'm not expecting a royal treatment b/c a greeting or "hi, how are you?" is enough for me at the register. There is this one particular cashier, a hefty fellow with plugs, who I've had the pleasure of dealing with in the past couple of visits. During the first time he rung me up, he didn't even acknowledge me nor said 'thank you' after he finished. He even ignored my request for a gift receipt. Just 2 days ago, I came in to exchange a couple of items. He had the nerve to say to me "omg another return" and i'm like -_- . He then bombards with me questions as to why i was returning and even asked "are you sure these fit?" when he rung up my new merchandise. I was so pissed of I wanted to hop over the counter and clock his fat ass. H&M you need to fire this jerkoff already. read more

I bought about $300.00 worth of clothing from this place and I came home tried the clothes on again. I noticed that one of the items did not fit well. Four days later I went to return the item at the store with the tag attached and the receipt. However, the sales associate immediately said we cannot return the item because it has been used. I asked for the store manager, he was worse that his employee. I received VERY VERY POOR customer service. They did not take the item back which I can care less because it was only $30.00. I was very insulted and upset. I WILL NOT SHOP THERE AGAIN. People who have respect for themselves and class do not need to shop at such cheap and low class place. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. This H&M is fantastic. Overall it has the widest selection of all the H&M's I have visited in the Bay Area (and there are a lot!). They have the Divided collection in more colors than I have found anywhere else and I have been searching for a very particular color (Y U NO LET ME BUY ONLINE ??). The only downside is how crowded it can get on the weekends. But if you're at Great Mall, you know how it's gonna be. read more

A big YAY goes out to another location opened...but seriously people why so bitter that another one opened, H&M is rampant in Europe - it's like their Starbucks, believe me, I've been there (Germany). If you're a clothing whore, you'll love H&M. Everything here is cheap and disposable but made well enough to get your monies worth before you feel the need to toss it. Quality reminds me of Forever 21 so don't get caught up in the hype. They have some decently designed clothing but they also carry things that should have never been allowed to enter the country. The store caters mostly to young women but they have a mens section as well, barely worth mentioning in my opinion. The store in the Great Mall is considerably larger than the Santana Row store. read more

What's not to like about h&m? I love the store..I don't find many things for myself to wear at this location...but I like it because of their kids location.. they have the cutest clothes for little girls..! Cute little hello kitty fits for kids..not only that I always score the cutest outfits/pieces for my daughter. I came here on lunch a couple of weeks ago and scored a cute winnie the pooh velour fit for 5 bucks?! H&M will never be known for the quality, why do you think everything is so cheap? This location has a good selection, just not a BIG selection, compared to it's big brother in San Francisco. The size selection is also great. They have up to 38 in the waist, and XL and XXL shirts. The customer service is non-existant that's why I had docked them one point. Sure you'll see people walking around and fixing the clothes and talking to eachother near the fitting rooms, but they don't approach you, you have to approach them for help. But everything is out on the floor so, don't be stupid and ask for something in the back because there's nothing there. HM actually sells shoes now also, red, white, blue, and black; not bad looking you can actually wear it to the Sabor, Holy Cow, VooDoo, Temple SF nights. Oh and be prepared there will be LONG ASS LINES and at most two people working the register when they have 3-4 registers. YELP! read more

I really love shopping at H&M but this location is horrible. I can't stay to shop in this store. It is so messy and clothes on the floor. I probably only seen one employee picking up. I came here just to check it out, and am really pleased with what I found. I thought H&M was one of those stuck up preppy overpriced stores, but I was way wrong! This store has a huge selection - almost too much! It is PACKED with clothing options, mostly solid color separates and nice dresses. Lots of great profesh clothing options! Prices are decent but it's one of those places where you will find a lot of things so bring your credit card. One star lost because the store is a mess and needs to be better organized to help you find the styles and sizes you need. read more

Besides the H&M in Union Square in the city I also shop at this location. I love the cheap ballet flats you can get several pairs for in different colors for the price of one pair at Steve Maddens. I love the inexpensive shirts they carry and little sweaters which are still better quality then forever21's only less expensive most of the time. Only complaint with this store are the massive lines to the register which makes you want to rethink whether you want to buy something or not and the fact that they don't have as much stuff as some of the other locations. read more

I was so excited that an H&M was opening up in the southbay, but this one is at best mediocre. The men's selection is a lot better than the women's. The women's section seems to be full of cltohes for work and sportwear for ladies in their 30's and 40's. No cute party dresses! The Union Square H&M has a vast selection of clothing for women of all ages and for all occasions. I guess I'm going to have to head up to SF every time I get an H&M shopping spree. read more

Nicely organized. Sale rack was so so. I was able to find a nice blouse here.This isn't the largest H&M but it carried a lot of stuff. H&M is always a bargain, you can find some key pieces for each season at a moderately low price compared to brand name item fashion pieces elsewhere! read more

I just visited this location in Great Mall and it was cool. I was able to find some stuff in the kids department for my baby daughter and my nephew. Prices are reasonable. At least I don't have to go to Union Square in SF to visit an H&M, although i think that one is better. One thing I found odd was that they do not have gift receipts. Hello??? You walk in this H&M and you instantly know your not in San Francisco or Santana Row anymore. It definitely looks like a Great Mall H&M. The selection is average and quality to me looks to be an issue. I walked in ready to spend money and walked out with nothing because I was unimpressed with their selection. first off its great to know that you dont need to venture off to san francisco for H&M, so points for instant gratification. this location stomps on santana row because it offers all departments and not just womens. its pretty well maintained and not as messy as the san francisco and hollywood locations, however with that being sad, the selection of merchandise is really thinned out here. i dont frequent it a lot but sizes are rarely here. its a once in a blue moon kind of deal when i find something here, and today was one of those days. stumbled on a pleather jacket for $70. i thought it was a great deal considering real leather jackets are expensive and the odds of thrift store shopping and finding a used one that is my size, in good condition, doesnt smell and isnt faded is really hard even with thrift store leather jackets being like half the price. i was really content with my find! read more
