When you ask to speak with a supervisor, they'll literally say, "That's not possible, we have no supervisors who can talk to you." If you ask to be put on hold until one becomes available, they'll put you on hold for 5 to 25 minutes (I called 6 times) and then disconnect the call. I will never buy from this store again. It's not a big store compared to many other but it does the trick when you need something fast. There was sale going on so wandering and checking the racks was always good. Location wise, this place is right in heart of town. Loads of foot traffic not only for this store but for all the surrounding properties. I had a question regarding their app which I stopped in to check out. Of course it was down so nothing could be done. Downfall, I had things in my cart that I wanted to purchase so I thought maybe I could just order from inside and have it delivered. Well, they don't offer that service. Bummer.... I drove 45 minutes to find out that they did not have the right size, and the entire section of pajamas, that was also confirmed on the phone to be in stock, was not there. Hands down the worst customer service I've ever had. I'm closing in on 70, yet the store manager continued to call me "hon" throughout our conversation. She was saying this in an extremely sarcastic tone- not very nice of her. Not realizing I needed my receipt (I had just purchased several pairs of jeans a few days prior, and in fact had one pair on) to make an exchange as the jeans were too short (didn't want my money back, just an exchange), she "hon'd me about ten times about store policy and they don't do that anymore and how I should have known that. How? I have no idea. She'll find out soon enough that $40 (the cost of the jeans that I can't wear now) is a lot of money to a senior on a fixed income. read more

It was rather smaller store compared to a lot of locations I had been to, they also didn't have a kid section but they had somewhat of a larger clearance area I could use for some good deals especially for my size. Absolutely stay away from H&M stores anywhere unless you are very proficient at keeping your receipts for a purchase or was given product as a gift. Their policy is No Return, No exchange unless you have their receipt. No exceptions! They won't look it up on the credit card that was used to purchase the item/s. IMO, this is a policy of a store that is looking to shut down their operations with such a unfriendly consumer position. I am a pretty good customer at H & M downtown Palm Springs. Half the time I go in there I am wearing their clothes. I always tell people where I get the clothes when I get compliments. So my friend bought me a shirt there for a gift. He did not give me a receipt. I didn't like the shirt so I tried to exchange it for something else. NO DEAL, without a receipt you are stuck with it! I do understand that people steal things and then try to return them, but I was really annoyed for some reason. I didn't want a refund, just a different shirt. On a recent occasion, I stopped in for some accessories, was carrying my selections, and decided to checkout the markdown rack, when I noticed a woman stalking me, so I suddenly turned and looked for the cashier, and the woman reveals herself as an employee, wants to know if I'm checking out. My point is, if you are so concerned about a customer who has items in their hand might be stealing them, maybe you need better customer service, that can ask to place the items up at the checkout counter; no one enjoys being stalked. read more

I was helped by Andrea both in the fitting room and at the register and despite my being a difficult customer purchasing a lot of items especially sale stuff she was extremely patient and so so helpful....after her helping me try on everything I was pleasantly surprised to find she was also ready at the register to help me and even wanted to take the time to take everything off the hanger and fold all my items neatly in the bag despite the large number. I shop at the H & M Palm Springs location since moving here 2 years ago. Recently I went in to purchase a couple of gifts for my nephews birthday. I decided on a couple of shirts. I requested some assistance because I could not find the size I was looking for. Zach Horn (he said he was a mgr) was on the floor folding when I approached him and asked if he could help me with a shirt size I was looking for. Before I could get my question out he cut me off and said what ever is in the floor is all we have. I said I was open to another shirt (different style) if it was the same color . Zack Horn was bothered by me asking another question , he quickly cut me off and said again ....whatever we have on the floor is all we have!! He is very condescending! He could not be bothered to assist me at all. Then he said something under his breath , I turned to him and asked what he said ? He smirked and said nothing. I'm not use to this type of terrible customer service. I will not be shopping here any more. I live in Palm Springs and shop at the H & M store on Palm Canyon frequently. I bought some shorts at this location. For my Birthday , my son bought me 2 additional pairs of shorts and 2 t shirts as a gift for me. he asked the sales clerk for a gift receipt, and the clerk did not know what that was. as luck would have it, one of the shorts had a small tear in it. I went back to H & M and said I just need to exchange this, I got it as a gift. same size same color, it's damaged, and I just got it yesterday. The clerk who was helping me asked if I had a receipt, I said no it was a gift, and the sales clerk said , did I have a gift receipt, I said no. he could not help me. I asked for a manager, he said he was the manager, then I said, can I have a store manager, I waited 10 minutes, finally Zach Horn, came out and I repeated the whole story again. He said he couldn't do anything for me without a receipt. He said he couldn't run it through the computer without a receipt. I said there's nothing to run through the register, it's a $13 pair of shorts with the tag on, and it's damaged, I just want one that is not damaged. So, H & M doesn't believe in good customer service? I got a hello when I walked in. Ok. After a few minutes a picked out a handbag and came across the Chelsea boots, which I had specifically come in for in the first place. The two employees there were too busy tasking and I had to yell across the store to get the sales manager attention and to ask if all their shoes were out on the floor. After being told that they were, I expected customer service but to no avail. I had to ask the cashier to help me reach to the far back of the top shelf to try to find my size. Then she got a stool to help. Thanks. Well, they didn't have my size and she offered no alternative. I gave up on the shoes. I decided to look around because I found lots of great basics and other cute clothing. I shopped in the store for about 45 minutes to an hour but sadly both the the manager and cashier were completely hyper focused on straightening their store merchandise because it wasn't until the last minute that the manager asked if I wanted my stuff held up at the front while I shop. By that point I was ready to check out. Service was cordial but not extraordinary. I've only been in this store once or twice before in the last few years and the customer service was lacking even back then. I guess if you know your H&M merchandise well enough you won't need anybody's help to find what you're looking for. I don't shop at H&M much but I do remember that the clothing can run large depending on the style. What I'm not very familiar with is the fit or sizing of their shoes, particularly the Chelsea boots. I'll have to try a different H&M store or do my research. Too bad. I don't see myself frequenting this store and I live down the street. I've worked in retail for over 25 years and customer service everything. It can make our break you. They definitely didn't make the cut for me. I'll try the other store in the desert. Kathy and Jay made my day. I went up to the register to purchase a suit I found and realized that they did not have one of the pieces in my size. When I went up to pay Jay was extremely pleasant and patient he asked me if I was a member of the H&M points reward system. He helped me download and patiently waited for it to go through. Then he helped me find a coupon for my purchase on the app. He also told me about H&Ms recycling program. After getting helped by Jay Kathy came up and asked me about my item and asked what was the closest H&M to me back home and called and two locations and had to wait on hold for a while. He found my item and had them put it on hold. I later found out that his store wouldn't even get the credit for the item. I felt really valued and got great customer service. I feel like both employees really went the extra mile. This will make me want to return to this location every time I visit Palm Springs . There was 2 people in the store other than me. I wanted to buy a T-shirt displayed on a mannequin. There were only 4 mediums on the rack and I needed a small. There were "two" mannequins with the same shirt on, same size. I asked if I can have one of them and he refused. He stated merchandising can only move them and then that couldn't give me one. The sales person suggested for me to order it instead. Why should I pay a shipping fee if what I needed was right in front of me. The salesman man just laughed it off. Also medium doesn't exist in this store...either x small, small or XL...frustrating. I live in the neighborhood and I was very excited to hear that H & M was coming. Unfortunately, since they have opened, they have done a terrible job of stocking the store with men's merchandise. I keep going back week after week to buy something as basic as a pair of shorts, and I am met with basically 4 styles all in size 38. The staff acknowledge that they only get merchandise sporadically and have no control over what comes in. I am a size M 32-33 and I find the store completely unusable. H & M, if you are going to open a new store to a bunch of fanfare and hoopla could you at least be courteous enough to stock it with a selection of merchandise which doesn't make it completely obvious that Palm Springs is just an afterthought in your strategic planning? read more

On 8/4/19 I visited the H & M Store in downtown Palm Springs, Ca. As a retired sales assoc. of high-end retail I know what excellent customer is all about. In this day and age of "self serve", good customer service is rare. Not so at our local H & M Store in Palm Springs. I was so impressed with the attention of associates Robbie, Jay and Mina that I felt I should pass this attention to good customer service along. In the fitting room I tried on more than a few items. If I needed an item in a different size Robbie, Jay or Mina was right there to find me what I needed on the display floor. I never even had to leave the dressing room. And they were so friendly. I think they really enjoyed their job which is a good reflection on their store manager. I have always said that if employees are treated with kindness and respect from top management that attitude will be passed on to the clients/customers 100% plus. Of course I happily walked out of the store with some new wardrobe purchases. And H & M in downtown Palm Springs will be my current "Go To" place to shop in the future. Thank you so much H & M Team.
