I love this H&M! Service is always extremely helpful and I've never had any issues shopping here. Employees are friendly when you need help finding sizes or checking availability which I appreciate. Plenty of parking and good selections to choose from. I usually end up finding cute basics or a seasonal item every time I stop by. Store is also organized which makes shopping way less stressful. Only downside is that on busy days dressing room wait can take a while since the rooms are a bit limited. They usually have two cashiers up front, but they move the line pretty fast so it's not a huge wait. read more

I purchased men's joggers and a sweatshirt at an H&M store. Unfortunately, the receipt was either not placed in the bag or was lost, and no email receipt was sent. The next day, I returned to the same store to return the items. They were completely unworn and still had all original tags attached. The store refused the return solely due to the absence of a receipt and did not accept bank card confirmation showing the purchase was made at their store. I then contacted H&M customer service by phone and was told that, according to H&M policy, returns or exchanges should be possible in such situations. After this call, I returned to the store again, but the store manager still refused both a return and an exchange, citing "store policy." This experience was extremely disappointing. The customer service and handling of this situation were poor and inconsistent with what H&M customer support communicated. read more

What's there not to love about a store that is organized by style and color? H&M has always been a staple to basic fashion and affordable trends. This store at the Fashion Valley Mall was well organized and quite large. I sadly did not find anything for myself, but they have some great, and well merchandised areas. I keep getting these pop-ups from Yelp wanting to have a review of places I have never been all over the world. I wish I had especially recently. Now, they're asking me if I really went to H&M in Fashion Valley. Yes, I did a few weeks ago. I don't shop in there often anymore as their merchandise is not to my taste and doesn't seem to be as quality as it used to be. I did buy a pair of sweatpants and a sweat jacket. Second time I came in to this H&M, it's ashamed that they have one of the best location in the city, they have a room full of clothes but the stocks they carried didn't live up to the standard, if you catch my drift, I have the H&M app and it never showed this store had anything that I can buy directly but had to spend an additional shipping fees. I guess I will be checking back with Plaza Bonita and La Jolla in the future, also the stairs leading up to this store is under construction, no escalator and you might need to walk around it. read more

This store is located in the outdoor fashion mall. To my surprise, I was quite unimpressed with this location. First off, the customer service was sub par. If you want to be ignored or if you'd like to have to seek out someone to help you in any way, that's what I experienced. Once I was helped, service was below average with zero friendliness or adequate customer service. I also did not expect this store to be so small. There are both women and men sections, I did not see a children section here. Dressing rooms were clean. Masks are required inside. I felt there was not much of a wide variety of clothes to shop through, I was lucky to find something I liked when typically I find several items. They had a large clearance section, prices are decent, they offer discounts for members or students. They do not give military discounts. I won't bother returning to this location. read more

H&M is always solid. I can count on them to have fun trendy looks in stock and not break the bank. This location is no exception, I always leave with at least one really satisfying find. This location however does have exceptionally snippy sales associates. The "lines" in the store are not clearly marked and the sales associates aren't exactly nice when explaining their social distancing methods. I get it, they're probably sick of herding people and possibly receive pushback from some of the customers. I'm 100% for acting safe and responsibly in the setting of the pandemic and am more than happy to follow the rules. I think the management at this store needs to limit the amount of people in the store at a time... at times it's basically a mob scene... and to come up with some more easily discernible spacing/lines system. Really busy, but not hard to shop around. I wish there was something to put all my stuff in and carry or push around the store because it gets extremely heavy and hard to shop otherwise. I was able to talk to someone and put my stuff on hold while I continued to shop around. It was a great experience. I found a lot of cute clothes and was able to use Apple Pay from my iPhone. Cashier was nice, helped me with a sign up deal to save money on transaction. Cashier turns out being one of my classmates from my college. This location is much less busy than most others, and ideal stop while shopping in the fashion Valley Mall. They have a good variety of kids, women's and men's clothing at fair prices. Be sure to check for the clearance items we can find really good deals, many items are made using organic cotton and super soft and wash well. read more

I haven't been to any H&M in a long time. I was running an errand in Fashion Valley today, and stopped in H&M to try to exchange a gift I had received. A friend had given me a really cute pair of sparkly black pants that I thought would be cute for holiday parties, but they were the wrong size. Well, I walked in, and luckily a staff member was nearby. That was lucky because the store was really a big mess (just not well organized and sloppy). Anyway, the staff member was helpful and walked me to the area with those pants, and helped me look through them. We looked though the black and the silver pants, but they didn't have my size. I thanked that staff member and decided to just go to the register to return my pants. I walked up to the register with the pants and my gift receipt. First, I asked for a cash refund, but they said they couldn't do that. So then, I asked for them to credit the card of the friend who had purchased the pants. They couldn't do that either. Then, since all else had failed, I asked for store credit. They said "We don't do that". I honestly am thinking, "Then what the hell do you do?". Instead of saying how I really felt, I took my non-fitting pants, useless gift receipt, and walked out. Seriously, what a trashy store. We stopped by yesterday because my husband was looking for some light gray jeans. We rarely shop at H&M but yesterday was an exception. Holy bananas, it was a crowded store! I'm sure it was because of the holiday weekend and the sale but the lines for the fitting room was crazy as well as the cashier line. STAFF - Can their staff be anymore unenthusiastic? It really seemed like they all hated their jobs. I get that it was busy but wow, it is disappointing to shop at a store where people look miserable. FITTING ROOMS - This line couldn't move any slower. My husband wanted to try on one pair of jeans and we waited for about 25min in line. I thought maybe people just had a lot of pieces to try on but when we got close to the front, I realized it was because of the girls working! Melissa and Lori were the two sales associates working the fitting room. They were dragging their feet. I mean if I saw a line that long, I would pick up the pace and try to get people in and out. Lori was so unfriendly. People would give her their "no's" and she would take it without saying a word and kind of glare at them. I was waiting for my husband to try on his pants and there was this girl that came out wanting to give her "no's" back. Lori had her back turned and never turned around to check on customers so that girl was standing there patiently waiting for about five minutes. I worked in retail when I was 16 so I get the holiday rush and I get the busy hours. But by no means should your attitude be written all over your face if you want happy customers. Store: Very nice and LARGE. Especially for the womens and they surprisingly have a pretty large section dedicated to menswears as well. Great accessories section but I think they could use more Hello Kitty. LoL Price: It varies. Some things are ridiculously cheap and are a fantastic deal for great style. However, there are some things that are still pretty pricey and not so great looking. Quality: As good as it gets for cheap clothes. I bought some boots there and didn't expect much from them but they're surprisingly a lot more comfortable than I anticipated. Clothes: They have both casual and business wear. What I like about H&M is that they carry smaller sizes for smaller people like myself. I usually have trouble finding business clothes that fit me so it's nice that they come in size 2 and size 4 (even though I could never in my life fit into a size 2 unless I get AIDS). read more

Store is always clean but the lack of customer service and the length of time I always end of waiting in line is unnerving. If I don't have 30 extra minutes I won't even bother because the line is always too long I returned about 14 items the other day and the gal was moving so slowly it took her about 20 mins. During that time she was also hanging each garment & hand writing the price. When she was finished with the last item she said "oh good ok now it's working. It was trying to charge you instead of credit your account". I said "omg you mean you have to start all over"? ;(. Yup it took a total of 27 minutes for 14 items to be returned because their was so much side traffic happening; alarm going off, employees wanting to leave with managers approval, break time approval, checking in etc. The poor girl could barely focus and get a move on. And before you judge my claim I used to work in retail and I know how easy it is to ring someone up and also return items I felt like I was the bad guy for even wasting her precious time in returning these items but I didn't trust customer service stating online items can be returned at anytime because the 30 day return policy doesn't apply. read more

Love the clothes, some employees are very helpful, while others are not at all. I'll explain both: The great employee: I found a pair of shorts, this store didn't have my size, the girl in the fitting room was so nice, she looked it up online, then called other stores and kept calling when other stores didn't pick up. The bad employee (not the same person): I bought some clothes online, came into the store to return them, and was told I could not- no reason why, I was within the return window, the clothes were in good condition, unworn, tags attached. I know their return policy since I've been shopping with H&M for years. This was simply because he didn't want their "numbers to go down" in sales for that hour/day. read more

So I came to fashion valley to return a bunch of stuff that I had purchased but they didn't fit or look nice or whatever. I've never had a problem returning anything at any store in my life. In addition, I'm kind of a fan of H&M. They make decent quality clothes at great prices, so my experience at this store was surprisingly annoying and upsetting when I was returning a pair of swim trunks that were too loose and the cashier said "I'm sorry I'm afraid I can't return these because I believe they've been worn" I was confused because I literally bought them, tried them at home, and went to return them because I did not like them, unaltered, unworn, and with tags attached!! He said he couldn't return them because there was something in the pocket and I explained that I just put it in the pocket so it wouldn't break in the bag amongst the other things in my shopping bag. Like why would I wear swim trunks with a makeup palette in the pocket? Why would you assume and not ask if had worn them? And if I wore the swim trunks for their intended use, the tag probably would've been ruined?? Additionally, the other cashier had to chime in and defend him and she said something like "oh we can't return men's swimwear --only women's... like please tell me why that policy would make sense. I was ready to just leave because I was so annoyed and they were only $15, but some sort of manager came, noticed that they were obviously unused and ok'ed the return. I don't think I've ever experienced such poor customer service so the trip to this store has left a sour taste in my mouth for the brand and I probably won't be coming back any time soon. read more

I used to be really pissed off at H&M. Decent looking clothes at super low prices. The only problem was: THE CLOTHES WERE MADE FOR STICKS. I had a buddy who was ecstatic when he figured out that H&M's clothes fit him. My buddy was a short fellow who didn't weigh much. I, on the other hand, am not short. Nor am I a skinny fellow. So while my buddy was speeding around the racks pulling off kid-sized adult clothes like a mad man, I snuck around trying to find XXXL sized shirts. I had so much of a complex that I went on the Atkins' Diet and started training with San Diego Boot Camp. Now 100 pounds lighter and with a host of health problems brought on by the ensuing water diet, I don't have as much of a complex because I can fit their XL sizes! This particular store is a pretty decent size, but the layout is weird. Why have "Young Men's" on the opposite side of the store from "Men's"? Bad planning, my Swedish friends. read more

H&M fashion valley...well it is the biggest one in San Diego. Love the shopping center, love the store, hate the crowd. Since everyone comes here, and the clothes are cheap, you have to fight the crowds in three areas; the selections (especially on sales items), the dressing rooms, and the waiting in line at the cash register. I have discovered that it's a nice place to window shop but you should trek out to North County Fair and visit that H&M, bigger and lot's of choices. happy clothes hunting. read more

Now we don't have to go all the way up to Irvine.. I love getting my work clothes here, fun shoes, and cute dresses. Also great for jackets, skirts, t shirts, etc. You name it, they've got it. The line to try on clothes at this San Diego locations is.. well, insane and ridiculous. So if you just have something like a sweater or coat just try it on in front of a mirror. I typically love H&M, but this location is my least favorite. That stinks, too, as it's the closest to me. I just feel like the lack of variety and selection here go against the store. I've never really been a fan of their "customer service", and this location does nothing to make me reconsider my views on their employees. Our last time here, the store was pretty packed. Everyone was looking for a good deal, and as so often happens, the racks were a hot mess. I expect that, but it seemed to be a bit out of control that day. I can't tell you how many shirts, dresses and hangers I picked up off the floor during our brief stop. My husband asked me if I was on their payroll at one point. I just don't like walking through a mess! At any rate, we didn't find anything for me, but were able to find something for him. The checkout process was painful. The line wound through the cramped aisles, out amidst the improperly stored wares, and there were only three registers open for the day. It wasn't enough to alleviate the wait, which was frustrating, and then when we finally got to a register, the guy there was obviously uninterested in people and the job, which was annoying. I think I'll do my H&M shopping at another location, or online from now on. read more

Teeerrrrrible customer service/line management. I worked in retail so I feel comfortable acknowledging good vs bad customer service. I was in line, near the front as a line was growing. A manager came out and opened the men's cashwrap, but instead of directing the next people in line to newly opened register she just proclaims "no line in men's". Obviously everyone runs over there from the back of the line and all of us that were up next/trapped in that little accessory area couldn't move. We then proceeded to wait longer as the two registers in front of us had huge online return orders. I also noticed it seems to be their process that the workers at registers have to hang up/tag returns while they're working with you, which holds up the line. Makes more sense to just move people along and on downtime (yeah I know retail is hectic) to then tag and hang items. I felt bad that the cashiers had to do all that. read more

Me love how me clothes fit! I'm an H&M'er for life. I guess because my waists size is permanently between 32-34 waists size and my build is slim fit, it works. Trendy store and you can find any style clothes for what ever the occasion is. The only thing would advise is that they improve the quality of their clothes. This is a really large H&M, but I guess that's not saying much since most of them usually are. I'm a fan of H&M over Forever 21 just because of the quality of clothing. They usually have great sizes especially when you're on the heftier side like me. I can shop plus size items that are even offered for a size 2, which I really like. This is the best spot for summer dresses because they always have the best and largest selection than almost any other store in the mall. The only reason why I gave it 3 stars is because of their customer service. Being that I work at Nordstrom it's the FIRST thing I look for. They are HORRIBLE here! I'll even ask a question and I'll just be passed from one person to another. I've never had a good experience. If it weren't for the clothes then I wouldn't shop here. My brother loves going to Fashion Valley Mall. So everytime we go here, we tend to spend a lot of time. And with that time, it is a must that we always go inside H&M. It is quite big and I think it is because it is in a nice mall, so they need to have a big one. Also, we like going to this branch because they have quite a few Sales and Clearance Area. I don't like buying some high end and expensive clothings and even underwear. Also, they have a huge fitting room that if it not wrong, have 8-10 stalls. No matter how I would like to think that I would get a bargain in H&M, most likely not. For some reason they have the men's section divided and the Hip t-shirts and jeans on one end and the rest (incl accessories/shoes) on the other. At least they know their demographics, tweens (who go for Euro trashy clothes) and cheapskates (or those looking for a bargain) Otherwise selection is blah. The pricing is only good if the item is on-sale from the regular pricing. I don't shop H&M for quality but sometimes you can get something you might need cheaper. I have gotten some really cute and sexy attire here for a night out and have always been satisfied. The materials are questionable, but it's worth a wear or two for the price I typically pay. Sizes def run small, which bugs me. I'm a size 0 or XS and in H&M I'm a 4 in tops??? Go figure... . :/ I usually peruse the accessories to find some cheap and fun items for any occasion. To me, there's is too much store. I like a lot of variety, but have to rummage from area to area?! Forget about it... I've been to H&Ms where it's 2 floors, and that's when I get dizzy.
