I found what I wanted: a semi formal dress. When I went to try on the clothes, the employees didn't seem that attentive and when I was giving them back the clothes and the marker for how many items I had, I have one employee the clothes, then I held up the marker unsure of whether or not I should give it to her or give it to the person at the table with the other markers. When I asked what do I do with this, she said, with a lot of attitude, that it was fine to give it to her. She was very impatient. I know this is probably minimum wage but I still hoped that the employees would care about their own personal image. The lady at check out was a lot more hospitable, she complimented what I chose out and made nice small talk about how the piece was nice for its price. You don't go to H&M for top tier customer service so I guess it's whatever. read more

H&M - Women's Clothing Near Me - San Francisco, California

I came in to exchange a pair of pants that I ordered online (wrong color, oh no!). I was trying to look for the same pair of pants in different colors in the store but I couldn't find it. And that's when Kevin walked by- I asked him if he knew where they are and although he was in the middle of something (and also worked in the men's department), he looked up my order and tried to locate the pants for me. As It turns out, the store doesn't carry other colors, so I decided to take a refund instead and purchase the other color again online. Kevin was very nice, patient and so friendly! He had a great attitude- unlike some stores that make you feel like you're asking a lot when you try to return something for a legit reason, he was not annoyed at all and he made me feel like I'm a valued customer. Went shopping over the weekend 'cause my cousin gave me some money to spend on Wrapp. First off, this store itself in my opinion is pretty big. They have a bunch of clothes ranging from sweaters to dresses to t-shirts and jeans. Most of the clearance stuff was near the cash register on the right side. And the fitting room is all the way inside. Just go straight to the back. The girl working at the fitting rooms didn't really interact much. She basically just told me to go into any room I want so I did. Now... the cashier on the other hand... was mean. She looked grumpy. Honestly speaking, I have heard that working in retail was a big pain in the buttocks, but she should know that a smile goes a long way and would've been appreciated greatly. But nope. Just got that mean look from her. Fine. I didn't really have a problem with this store until I walked up to pay and she told me that my Wrapp money could not be used towards sale items. My cousin asked her where it said that and the cashier said the guidelines in the Wrapp app did. She seemed impatient as she was waiting for me to pay so I paid while my cousin checked over the guidelines. Lo and behold- the app said nothing about using it on sale items. All it said was to basically use wrapp like a gift card and to use the full amount I have for H&M which my purchase had exceeded so this chick basically lied costing me double of what I should have paid if I was allowed to use Wrapp. Would I come back? Eh. It depends. This H&M store has a lot of things for cheaper than other stores. But customer service was disappointing. read more

This H&M is a pretty nice store in general. The basic structure of the store never changes so I know exactly which racks and general areas I need to go to in order to get what I need. The store is generally clean as it's always buzzing with customers ranging from young pre-teens to the 40 year olds attempting to stay in fashion. What really gets me is their customer service. The workers in the changing rooms are super nice and encourage you to ask them for helping getting a size and even suggesting other pieces to make a statement or even just go with your outfit. It's kind of like being in a mini-nordstrom if you will. Except for one thing. One night, my mother and I were looking for dresses for an upcoming event, we found a few and began walking towards the cash register. Julian began yelling across the store for my mother, the 2 other customers and myself to (and I quote) "HURRY UP! I'M TURNING THIS REGISTER OFF IN 3 MINS! IF YOU'RE NOT HERE BY THEN, YOU CAN'T PURCHASE!" As appalling as that is, the rudest continued as he THREW my change at my hand -not into my hand. ON my hand, as it hit the counter. Probably not going to come back to this location. I've never been treated this way at all the other H&Ms I've been to. read more

This store in-particular is super duper small. Don't waste your time. The majority of the store is for women, a small section for men and they do not carry children's clothing. In addition to being such a small store, the racks are cramped, messy and unorganized. That being said, many of the sale items were only available in larger sizes or slightly damaged. If your in the Peninsula, maybe worth going to Serramonte or Hillsdale. If your in the EastBay go to the Walnut Creek location, much more organized, huge selection and things are very easy to find. :) read more

Just left the store today trying to return a dress shirt I did not wear as I bought 5 of them from different locations to see what went great with my outfit. I did not wear this one at all and pointed out that's it's already used and can't be returned. Unfortunately I was not able to make my case and the manager didn't offer an apology and said here you go. I was treated as if I was trying to lie to them about not wearing it so that's just unfortunate for me. It's a $15 shirt so I'm not going to make a scene at the store. I'll just leave this review here so everyone is caution about trying to return their items to this store even if it hasn't been worn. I hate leaving bad reviews but this one is a must! After 3 visits to the store recently, I have to say: THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! The employees are so rude and not helpful. They are more concerned about putting clothes on the rack rather than taking a moment to answer a simple question. The cashiers are slow, rude, and only say: hello. They'd rather laugh and converse with each other instead of focusing on their job. The best thing about shopping at this H & M location is having Hailey Salha help you shop for what you need! Here is what happend: I was looking for a suit for my 13 year old daughter and after spending about 30 minutes checking out both men's and women's sizes, we were growing weary that we could find the proper fit. We ran into Hailey and asked her to please point us in the right direction. Hailey not only took us over to the rack where we found exactly what we needed (the one teenage rack), but she pulled other items that could work from other parts of the store. Without prompting, she asked us if there was anything else we needed. After giving her my daughter's wish list for THE perfect pair of jeans, Hailey scoured all the racks, spending like 20 minutes looking for exactly what my kid requested and pulled out 2 pairs. One was a perfect fit. If you have ever been to this H & M you realize it's pretty darn big and there is not much guidance on how jeans fit (unlike the GAP). Hailey has a very solid understanding of the merchandise (clearly!) and this, combined with her awesome attitude means she is seriously should consider a future in fashion (stylist etc). She has better customer service skills than most adults that have years of work experience under their belts. If I wasn't so impressed and grateful, I wouldn't take the time to write this review and sing her praises. This young woman deserves credit for being a naturally giving, helpful, super competent human being. Her bubbly, positive, fun personality was contagious and made the whole experience of shopping so much better. She even celebrated my kid's outfit and shared in her excitement. We hope Hailey will be recognized for her efforts. She is a memorable person that has a bright future. H & M is lucky to have her. She really knows the H & M merchandise. Tiny. Teeny. Cramped. Almost nonexistent. Yet amazing in its own right. Because it's so small, people tend to overlook sales here (unless it's the holiday season) and you might be able to score some amazing pieces of clothing for less. Quality isn't that amazing, but hey, why complain at these prices? I've yet to walk through and not find something I want, so clearly: I'm a fan. SO Sorry.....My young daughter had a first shopping experience purchasing an outfit for a special occasion. After coming home, I noticed the sleeves were a little tight. We went back at opening this morning and not only would staff not offer any help... When she came back to me and repeated what the staff said on this exchange trip, she decided to return everything. I walked to the car with her, as she cried and refused to shop anymore. Why is it the staff feel like they are there to chastise customers? I don't care...It was a first and last experience for us. I have never technically been diagnosed with a panic or anxiety disorder. No agoraphobia. No claustrophobia. In social settings at bars or clubs I'm good to rock n' roll and that IS NOT because booze is involved. In stores like H&M, however, I freak out. I feel the wall closing in and my heart beating out of my chest. Will someone please write me a prescription for Xanax? I cannot shop in a store that is so cluttered. There is so much merchandise on the racks that everything looks like a sea of chaos. How in the world are you supposed to go through the clothes and look for your size when nothing is in order and everything is jammed in so tight on the rack? You attempt to move one piece and DAR SHE BLOWS. Clothes just start falling off the hangers left and right. I panic this time and not in a good way. I feel trapped in a store with cheap clothes where I can't find my size and there is absolutely no order. I'm a Virgo. We like organization. An observation I noticed upon a recent trip is that every article of clothing looked appropriate for a 9-5 desk job. Nothing casual, nothing for going out. Mind you, the clothes are cheap. Forever21 at least has cheap clothes that generally look great on. These are terrible. They are cut unflattering and the material is just bottom line. No thank you. Everything here should really be under $10. Not once while I was in here did anyone check in with me to see if I was, "doing OK?" Where are the employees? The only contact I made with humanity was other shoppers bumping into me or grabbing merchandise practically from my hands while I was trying to look through clothes. Hmmm. I never thought my size 2 frame would fit into a size 6. Apparently it does at H&M. I love fast forward fashion stores. The quality of clothes at H&M is a few steps up from the store of legal gambling age Forever21. Their T-Shirts will not get distorted during the first wash. The styles are not too trendy but more work-appropriate with a side of casual chic, kind of like BR but without the price tag. The jewelry is cheap, the handbags are nice, and the marked down sale price is a steal. The return policy is standard, 30 days for a full refund, beyond that you get store credits. I like stopping by the store to check out the sales rack. Somehow it's very hard for me to find something that fits me perfectly at H&M. I don't know how many cute dresses I had to pass up because a size 4 is a little snug and a size 6 is slightly loose. Given the dilemma of my in-between sizes, I usually leave the store empty handed *probably the best thing for my wallet* However, I got lucky 2 weeks ago. Browsing the store like I normally do, I spotted a handbag just the size and color that I've been looking for. I couldn't believe it. Silly me I actually turned my head both ways to see if anyone had claimed it. I saw no one so I took it with me into the fitting room for fear that someone else would want it just as much as I did. Finally I found something at H&M that would fit me. I'm completely giddy like a school girl over my purchase. My last trip to H and M... Me: "HI! I really like this skirt and I would like to buy three more of the same style in the same size. Can you find out if there are any more of the same skirts?" Sales Associate: "Um, unfortunately, our computer doesn't let us see the clothes that are at other stores, so I would have to call the other stores individually to find out for you." (This comment was coupled with a faked regretful expression.) Me: "Would that be possible?" Sales Associate: "Well, which stores do you want me to call?" (At this point, she looks frustrated that I would even ask her to do any more work than she already wasn't doing at 8:40 pm on a Wednesday night.) Me: "Serramonte, downtown, and if those don't work out, maybe Emeryville." Sales Associate: "Do you mind if I help other customers while I call for you?" She proceeds to check out other customers, without a hello and a good-bye that sounds like, "Receipt in the bag or with you?" She informs me after making one, two-minute phone call that Serramonte does not have it, hoping that I will give up. I ask her to call downtown. At this point, she makes me feel like I just asked her to cure acne or frizzy hair, both which would help her immensely. I wander around the store a bit more, noticing in the mirror that I am wearing a shirt, jacket, and purse previously purchased at H and M. I start to question whether I even want to buy the skirt. Unfortunately, I am on a tight time frame and I need to skirts. She then informs me that downtown doesn't have the skirt either. At that point, I give up and just pay for the skirt and a purse that I picked up. Take home message of this very long story - if you shop at H and M in Stonestown, don't expect customer service. read more

I didn't think they could fit a proper H&M in the old Abercrombie space. Yes, it's on the small side but actually decent (for women) since they focus just on women's apparel and accessories (there is no men's or children's department). It is too bad that they couldn't squeeze the lingerie section in. They have Divided which is the more casual, junior line with t-shirts, sweatshirts, and so forth. The main H&M line is a little more grown up though it also has casual wear but also career wear. The career wear items seem pretty boring to me. I look to H&M for inexpensive casual wear and I also buy quite a few scarves here. You can't beat the convenience of this location and also they don't play the same really loud, annoying music that the Post St. location plays. And it's not as crazy as some of their other locations. read more

Today I took a personal day. My whole plan had been to sleep late, wake refreshed, have a long leisurely coffee, then hit Golden Gate Park for a run, followed by a late lunch in the Mission. Instead, I woke up in a stink-ass mood, threw on some clothes, ran a comb through my hair, checked the eyes (barely) for raccoon mascara smudges, jumped in the car, and headed out, sans coffee (headache be damned). To where? I didn't know, but I knew I just needed to get out for a drive and see where I ended up. Where I ended up was Stonestown Galleria on 19th Ave. (random!). I stumbled upon H&M in a random corner of this mall, and I'm glad I did because Aeropostale and J. Crew were not on the agenda for today. I needed retail therapy of the most serious kind. I needed to shop, find stuff I like, and spend mere pennies. I walked into the dressing room 3 times, each time with no less than 8 items, and ended up purchasing some pretty choice items. But where's the panty section? Ten cheap pairs of panties for something ridiculous like $10 would have made me ten times happier than I am now. That would have been a 5 star shopping excursion. Instead, I knock off one star for not upping my chonie selection. Whatever, H&M! But I gotta say, this super-unbusy, super-clean H&M kinda cured my stink-ass personal day blues. read more

I love this place. You walk in and it's mostly clothes for the 9-5 crowd but in the BACK, oooh that's where the magic is. It's mostly Forever 21 type clothes but nicer. I find that I'd wear about 20% of Forever 21 clothes but 80% of H&M junior clothes. I forget the brand name. I think it's called Division? But the clothes are nice. The clothes are cheap and modern and you can buy them in bulk because it's stuff that you'd wear everyday. I prefer this location to the others because: 1. It's close to SFSU 2. I love H&M but I would avoid coming to this particular store at all costs. Both times I came to this store, the salespeople were extremely rude and unhelpful. The first time, I asked for a stock check on an item to see if they had it in a different size, and a Hispanic male cashier in his 20s told me that unfortunately they didn't have the capability to do that. I've gone to plenty of other H&Ms and they were all able to do simple stock check on items in their store!! How else would they keep track of their inventory?! He was being super lazy and unhelpful. Today, I went to return and purchase a few items, and the cashier (Mel) could not smile for the life of her. I felt bad so said sorry for the kind of complicated transaction (even though it was a super easy return and purchase). She literally just ignored what I said and didn't respond to me. What kind of customer service is that? My advice would be to go to the H&M in Serramonte. It's nearby, and the sales associates have been super friendly and helpful there! Dear H & M, I try and try to like you I really do. For years now, on every trip to NY I always make my friends take me to the nearest H & M store to see if I can finally understand what the fuss is about. The ads look so adorable, and the girls look so chic in your clothing. Yet in the stores, nothing ever translates as cute on me. When you opened in SF on Powell Street, it was the first stop I made from the Oakland airport to see if I could find something to validate the fuss and commotion about you. Nothing. There were lines to get into the store, lines to try things on and even longer lines to pay, which didn't matter because I never found anything that looked cute. I look and I look, everything is so baggy and in such odd shapes. The sizes are weird, and the clothes just don't compel any urge to snatch it up and wait in line to see how it fits. I just don't know why. When you opened up at Stonestown I thought, maybe I just had a bad attitude towards the Powell store, I'll check out Stonestown, it's got to be less crowded and something has got to appeal to me, after all I am a shopper in training for the Olympics, people say. Alas, again, nothing worked for me. Maybe I'm not trendy enough to wear what Kate Moss and Madonna likes. Maybe my body is a funny shape. Maybe I have no style. ( Though the girls at Nordstrom, Forever 21, Arden B, BCBG, Betsey Johnson and Bebe may disagree.) Maybe I look at the clothes with the wrong glasses. But again, today when I purposely put aside 3 hours to browse your store, I only found maybe 4 items that I was pondering trying on. But then when I saw the 9 girls in line at the dressing room, those 4 items just didn't seem worth it. So again, I leave your store empty handed. I don't understand. I have never walked out of Zara empty handed, or Nordstrom or Abercrombie, or Bebe or even Old Navy empty handed. What is it about your store that disables my ability to spend money freely? Your price points are right on. Everyone else raves about your stuff. My friends tell me about the finds they have purchased and how you stock the best basics and even some good work clothes. You manage to make it possible to be trendy without going over your ATM limit for the day. Kate Moss wears it, and Madonna designs for you. There are lines to try things on. Why do I not fit in? I absolutely HATE this H&M. The disorganization of this H&M is uncanny. There are clothes ev.ery.where. Whenever I walk in, I'm basically walking in to a huge pile of clothes that I have to dig through to get something close to what I was looking for. The flow of the store does not make sense to me and on any given day, can put me in an instant state of anxiety. I could go to Nordstrom Rack if I wanted anxiety! In any event, the music is too loud, the lights are too low and there feels like there is a general film of dirt on the fixtures and sometimes the clothing. And the worst part is I can't even say I've ever received good service or any service there for that matter. I love H&M but had an absolutely horrible experience at this location. The service was terrible and I was treated rudely by the only two employees I had any contact with, the cashier and the manager. I went in to do some shopping and to return a shirt and a pair of shorts. I was told I could only get store credit in the amount of the current sales price because they had been purchased more than a month before. Fine. An annoying policy (particularly since I was returning the shirt because it basically fell apart before I ever wore it) but the policy was on the receipt so I accepted it. I was told that both the shirt, which I'd purchased for $12 and the shorts, which I'd purchased for $25, were now being sold for $5. I was skeptical that the shorts, which were $25 a month and a half ago were now $5 so I found them on the floor and, lo and behold, they were still being sold for $25. I took them up to the counter to show the cashier and she rolled her eyes at me before calling over her manager who rudely said that they "just hadn't been marked down yet." I had no way to know whether or not to believe her and she offered no proof of the markdown or apology for the confusion. In fact, the manager never talked directly to me but instead talked about me and my situation to the cashier while I was standing right there which I found extremely rude and unprofessional. I went in to the store prepared to spend a lot of money since I'm starting a new job and need new work clothes. I've never really owned anything from H&M (except one gold necklace) and since it first opened in Union Square way back when, I've never really stepped foot inside another one since I've never been able to find anything that's interested me...which is why I call this store, Hit and Miss. So I don't know what sparked my interest for checking it out yesterday. I walked around and found some promising items and before I knew it, had 8 items and a purse I wanted to try on. The place was pretty organized and there were a lot of people in the store. Most of the size 2s are gone...lots of 4s and 6s though. I also liked the jewelery area and found several things I wanted to further inspect. After trying on my 8 items, I decided to purchase 2. The prices weren't outrageous which made me happy and the quality was decent. You're paying for what you get so it depends on what you're buying and if you're willing to splurge on something that looks slammin' on you but is thin and cheap (not in my case).
