I love H&M you get what you pay for, which is a ton of stuff. I've personally never had cloth fall apart, but I tend to stain it all. My last shopping trip here I was able to buy 6 things for $101, which go to guess and get at most 2 things. The only down fall is staffing, I've never understood the point to have registers in the back and in men's. But they never open the one in men's. I spend more of my time waiting in line then shopping. But I've will always love H&M!!! read more

I am a big fan of the Hillsdale Mall because it has all the basic brands I need. This H&M is clean and the staff are friendly. Problem with this H&M as with all H&M is that it is hard to find clothes. It is not organize and clothes are jammed and it is hard to go through them. This store is one floor only and only carry select clothes from H&M. They don't carry a lot of shoes and no athletic gear. Not everything on H&M's website can be found here. H&M doesn't have the best quaility but it does keep up with the fashion! read more

It was my first time at this location, on Saturday, and I wasn't pleased. Pros: (1) the store was kept well- everything was clean and organized. (2) everything was spaced out well. Cons: (1) my main issue was that I waited at the checkout line for 15 minutes and no one was there. I'm always very patient and understand that the employees have other things to do, but no one came to even tell me that they will be with me in whatever time. So I just left my clothes on the counter and left. (2) the second issue was that two employees just looked very unprofessional- one showed up to work in sweatpants and the other was wearing socks and sandals. I'm just upset because I didn't get to purchase my clothes. I don't mind waiting, but that was too long and no one helped. read more

Newly opened store which is great for Hillsdale Mall. I personally don't shop there that often due to the lines at other locations. This store is very big with Women, Men and a kids section. I went on a Friday after work and the store was pretty busy. There was a line of about 15 people so I didn't want to wait and try anything on which can be a little demotivating -- maybe they should add more fitting rooms. For the price usually under $20 an item, you can't beat it. I feel their clothes are more on the plain side, but it is competition to the more colorful Forever 21, plus they have a large jewelry/accessory section with a variety of styles. It didn't seem hard to find your size in the womens section whether 0-16 so I don't know if I just got lucky or if it's always like that. The store itself was a little on the messy side so that could use some organizing. read more

What the hell is going on with this location? The men's section is a horribly disorganized disaster area. If you come in for, say, pants, then you will need to look in no less than 19 different locations in the store. I'm only barely exaggerating. There's no rhyme or reason to where items are placed. If you do find something you like, chances are they won't have your size. Aside from these serious defects, it's standard H&M fare: cute styles at reasonable prices. Nice to have one nearby, but I wish they were better organized and stocked. read more

Today was the second time I'd stepped into an H&M and the first time I'd bought something. The first time I went in, it was apparently the middle of summer, so most of the men's clothing was bright pastels like a bad Miami Vice episode. Ugh! Today was much better since autumn is rapidly approaching and there are more sweaters and shirts with neutral colors. I quickly found what I needed for an upcoming interview: black slim pants, a white button-up shirt, and a nice tank top style undershirt. I wandered over to the fitting rooms where a very nice girl got me set up to try my stuff on. Perfect! After that, it was a few minutes waiting in a short line to buy my goods and then I was out. I think my total bill was $70 which was actually pretty great for everything I got. I would rate H&M higher, but the mens' department feels so tiny and inconsequential next to the womens' department. It's like the womens department is 80% of the store and the mens stuff has a tiny sliver over in the corner. That being said, the store was very clean and arranged well and the people working there were all very nice. read more

Great selection of pretty affordable clothing, although it becomes less affordable when you're constantly buying things that you don't need from there... This could have been another Kohls. -- we were spared the Midwestern bullet. Change comes SLOWLY to the Peninsula so this H&M is big doings.I have a skinny kid so I was thrilled not to have to make the pilgrimage to SF or Milpitas to shop the kids section. I'm not a big "fashions" fan of most of their clothing since I'm now out of my twenties but the have a fantastic selection of ORGANIC cotton tees, pjs, etc for men, women and kids. Their basics are amazing and you can easily afford to try something fashion forward for usually 20 to 50 doll-hairs. That said, I don't care if it an old or new or international H&M there is one cardinal rule: Sad fitting rooms and heinous lines for the cashiers. So if you are mentally prepared for these facts you should enjoy the rest of your experience. read more

I have to give them 2 stars because i dont tolerate rudeness or bad attitudes from employers who are there to cater to there customers. Overall its a great clean store and very organized. However i wasnt recognized or greeted when i came into the store, I had a number of items in my hand and chose to try them all on. The lady who was attending the dressing room was incredibly rude with a dry attitude. I cannot stand when i go somewhere and people show there hate for there job on there face. If you are an employee at a place of business that deals with customers i expect exceptional service. It's a complete buzz kill to have to deal with someones attitude when i'm trying to shop and spend money. I'm a local and i really honestly avoid going into h&m for the simple fat that everyones attitude STINKS. Im all about customer service because i tend to customers on a daily basis and when i dont get the same respect back or courteousness ill be the first to complain. h&m train your employees customer service. My 28 week pregnant girlfriend went to the fitting room to try on maternity jeans when an employee by the name of JAMIE rudely and inappropriately said to her, "you know those are maternity jeans right? made for pregnant women." My gf had to embarrassingly say to her, "yes, I'm aware. I'm pregnant." And even if my girlfriend WASN'T pregnant, would she not be able to try them on? If I'm a man trying on a womens dress, would she then tell me "you know that is a women's dress right? made for women." Hmm. Please don't make assumptions about what a customer wants or needs. I'm happy that an H&M finally opened up in this area. Its at a great location in the mall, and in a sizable space. I was happy to see that the children's section is pretty big. The entrance and displays are well done but the layout of the racks and shelves have that potential to make the store go downhill fast - its already looking messy and overwhelming! Cashiers are a bit slow and it seems that there's not enough check out counters for the size of the store. Hopefully all of this will improve as they work out the kinks! read more

H & M WHAT thew hell has happened to you???? I remember when your light was shining bright and your store was the bomb now your just a flicker of what you used to be. I don't know what has conspired in the last few years but the stores are looking bad. Compared to the glossy catalogs I receive in real life you look like a stripper without her make up on...which is not good. The store here in SM is probably one of the worst H *M's I have ever been to. It resembles some really bad bargain basement dollar store. Always messy and I am talking messy. Clothes all over the place, too much crap on the racks, overstuffed, plastic hangers God even Forever 21 has wood hangers in certain parts of their store. Employees are just going through motions, no one acknowledges you and it is so claustrophobic in there you can only be in the store for about 20 minutes before you just need to jet because it is so overcrowded. They style of garments have become cheaper and less fashion forward in my opinion. I have items in my closet from when they first opened in the US and the quality for sure has gone down hill. Always too hot and it just looks like crap in there. When H & M opened a few years ago it was the IT now it is sad sad sad. The kids department is a friggin disaster it is so bad back there that you just cannot shop and this girl here can shop. I am hoping their will be a turn around soon but I just see this chain just going to the dumps in the US. In Europe they seem to be a little bit more on it. read more

Sales Associate named Randall- very rude! Walked to the counter with three things: sweatpants for my bf, a dress and a jacket for me, both from the kids section (im 5' tall and regular womens clothes are usually too big, i wear Medium in kids) Randall looks at the clothes in disgust, he doesnt even touch them. After a good 5 seconds of awkward silence and looking at the pile, he asks "are these from the kids section?" i said "yes, arent they cute?" He responded with "theyre cheap too(still in disgust)". I said "i find them cute and they fit, whats wrong with that?" And thats when he got quiet. How is it not okay to judge big people but sooooo okay to judge small people for their size? I've been here to return stuff I bought on their website. If ever there was a mass understaffed retailer of disposable clothing, this is it. I know this sounds bad, but I mean it as a back-handed compliment :-) Because it's mass and of inexpensive merchandise, they actually do a pretty damn good job. Every single time I've gone there, I stand in an impossibly long line, which moves at an astonishing rapid clip, and before I know it--boom--I'm standing in front a cashier, who is super friendly, helpful and warm. The transaction is swift and I'm out the door. I consider it a "success" if I've managed to leave the store without buying something else:-) You fashionistas will know what I'm talking about. read more

clean and fully stocked. employees walking around to help you find clothes and sizes. fitting rooms always has a line but i think all hm have lines. cash registers dont have too long of lines. plenty open and they work fast enough. bought a shirt in la and went exchanged for different size in sf. had to pay 0.01 because of tax difference. so i charged it. haha. the guy didnt laugh or say anything surprisingly. this place is next to cheesecake factory. pretty big. one side for men and other side for women. isnt overcrowded or clothes too close together to feel claustrophobic. although i dont know how business will do once uniqlo opens upstairs. competition. id prefer uniqlo. read more

I love the brand and clothes, but there is one sales associate who is so freaking rude every time I go there. The younger people I encountered there are super nice and helpful but this associate is older and VERY RUDE. I feel like in military: she just bosses me around, saying "hang it here!" "don't take that!" "leave this!" "put there!" it's just so rude, as if I work there and didn't come to buy clothes; and she even opened curtains when I was inside changing! I really like this H&M at Hillsdale! It's easy to find my size and the fitting room is always clean when I walk in. There's only been one or two times where I've noticed the dust and stuff on the floor after dropping my clothes - but these last few times it's been good! The people here are always Go Go Go - but when I need help, they're usually good about finding my size or showing me in the direction where I can find something to pair with a super cool shirt. Its clean here too. I've been to a lot of H&M's and this one takes the win for most organized. I get less anxiety here. LOL! read more

I'm glad H&M opened up at Hillsdale to give other stores a run for their money. This location has womens, mens, and kids section so I'm glad there's another kid store at the mall aside from the usual suspects. If you come in on a weekday (non-holiday) around mid-afternoon, there are no lines for the fitting room. But weekends are a mess! My suggestion is to add more checkout stations since 4 is clearly not enough (there's always a line). Not a lot of help from the floor staff but the fitting room and cashier staff were pleasant. If you haven't shopped at H&M before; don't be shocked to go 1 or 2 sizes up (maybe 3 depending on what you're buying) as their clothes are cut slim. They have a nice selection of accessories so if you're feeling trendy, these won't break the bank and irritate your ear lobes! read more

Been here quite a few times. I usually find something after a while of looking. I end up shopping online because it's hard to find in store. There are various times where clothes are everywhere on the floor. There are not a lot of registers and the line for fitting rooms are always long so I don't usually try on clothes there. When waiting in line to check out, it takes a while as well since there's usually only one person. There were some times where there were two people though. It takes a while if someone has a lot of clothes so I don't blame them for that. All in all, I'd rather just shop online at hm.com unless I need something ASAP. read more

H&M has come to HIllsdale mall! They've taken over a part of the old Mervyn's that use to be here. The prices are decent ($25 for a sweater, $6 tank tops, etc) and the kids clothes are super super super adorable although I'm not too sure about the quality - the quality is probably on par with Forever21. The only thing I hate about all H&Ms is the long line for the fitting room and sometimes the check out line as well. But, if you're looking for some fashionable items, you should check out H&M. They've managed to cram a bunch of stuff in this store: men's clothes, women's clothes, children's, accessories, shoes, nail polish and eyeshadows. And if you check their calendar, a famous collaboration collection might be in stores. read more

I normally don't wear "nice clothes" and I normally go for function over fashion, so when I was told to buy nice slacks, a shirt and tie for a bartending gig I didn't know where to start, and I thought it was goin to cost me an arm and a leg- then someone recommended H and M. I was pleasantly surprised at what I found, the exact outfit I needed, easy to find, and all for under 60 bucks! It was convenient, quick an painless. I don't give it a five simply because the counter in the men's department was closed and it took me a while to find an open one, there wasn't any employee walking the floor. I know the clothes aren't going to last me forever, but I'm definitely going back when I need these types of duds! read more

BIG HOLES LEFT BY SENSORS IN THEIR CLOTHES!!! Bad experience in the store today. Tried to exchange an item that had been damaged by their own sensor and was told that it was out of season and therefore only worth $1! The junior staff were understanding but their manager, Julian, took a hardline stance and stuck to his $1 valuation, absolving his store from all blame of having sold me damaged goods in the first place! I was so disgusted by his penny-pinching and unreasonable attitude that I GAVE him that defective item back. This company seems to be more "mean-spirited" than others, judging by the behavior of their management. While in the store, I noticed that quite a number of their items had big holes in them from their sensors. Very sloppy and careless treatment of their own merchandise. So BUYERS BEWARE!!! read more

The prices on this place is always the best for the quality of the clothes that they offer. At the time of my visit they have plenty of sale items for girls. I would like them to have sale items for guys in the future. Other than that it's a great place to shop. read more
