This store needs help. The stock levels are ridiculous. My latest visit was no different than my previous....... Items I need are not there. This happens more often than not. Randall's is now my go-to store. I have complained and no one cares. Nothing has changed after my conversations with management. I'm saving time and frustration by going to Randall's first. HEB....... you need to get your act together or other long-time customers will be shopping elsewhere as well. read more

The floral department at the HEB at 1431 & Bell Blvd (183) has a very rude hourly employee. This isn't the first time I have encountered him and his dismissive attitude. However, today, I was looking at the various Christmas plants. We both commented on how lovely the xmas cactus were. I asked him the price for a small rosemary plant. He commented he hadn't price them yet. And he kept on restocking the shelves!! NEVER offered to price one for me. Huh? Isn't the store in business to sell items? He acts like he could care less if you buy anything or not. I will not buy from the floral department at that store as long as I see him there. read more

Checkout lines and wait times are far longer than any other HEB in town. This is not because its any busier, but because they are constantly understaffed for cashiers (especially in the evenings). They should really staff an extra cashier or two at all times like every other HEB. The HEB at Parmer and 1431 is managed much more competently. read more

First off I want to start off by saying if your a cute girl DONT go to this HEB!!! I have never been starred at by so many hispanics and whistled at a grocery store. Not only is it rude but its very uncomfortable. The pharmacy left me with a bad taste in my mouth just recently when i went to pick up my prescription. The lady right off the bat questioned that the meds were prescribed to ME. So she asked for my DL. The only reason its such a big deal to me is because she looked up twice and back down at my DL like she didn't think it was me! Not only that but i have NEVER in my life been asked for my DL while picking up a prescription. HORRIBLE! And now I remember why I don't get it filled there anymore. THEY SUCK. And not only that but they tell me they need the business. its like how about you get a better staff and stop making your customers feel like they are stealing someone else's RX. read more

This is about HEB Pharmacy, specifically about immunizations. Don't get me wrong, I shop at and love HEB for grocery items but some of their departments are lacking. 3 years ago I had trouble with the HEB-to-you where they bring it to your car. Today is regarding the pharmacy. At almost any given time, you will see banners throughout the store that say get your immunizations at the pharmacy. We've tried to go before to get a flu shot and sometimes we are told that the pharmacist went to lunch and to come back. Knowing that, I called about 4 days ago asking about getting a Pneumonia shot for my elderly parents. He said it would be covered under Medicare Part B and to bring in the Medicare Card. When I asked about the best time, he stated that during the week was the best time because they have 2 pharmacists on duty and that weekends are NOT a good time. That makes sense to me. 2 days ago I was in the store again and went to the pharmacy, the nice lady back at the computer told me to come anytime and that there would not be a problem. So I get my 2 older parents and I bring them in. One is 79 the other is 81 so getting them out of the car and into the store already a chore. We arrived at 11am hoping we'd get ahead of the "pharmacist at lunch" excuse and this time she tells me that I'll need to come back after 2:30pm when they will have more time to do this? She said "I am the only pharmacist here and I have all these prescriptions to fill". I said, "look I called and I came by asking and was told that Wednesday would be the best day due to 2 Pharmacists on duty" and her response was like "Who told you that?" and said that the techs do not know what they are talking about. OK Stop. Everyone behind that counter needs to be on the same page. If you have techs that don't know what they are talking about, then do not let them answer the phone or assist customers. I do NOT understand how a store can advertise this service and then when you show up, they keep changing when they can do this. There are always prescriptions to fill. that is not my problem. She said they were short staffed, again not my problem. What she should have said was that there will be a bit of a wait but that they could get to us as soon as they could. After a big loud back and forth, she finally reluctantly said if we were willing to wait 30-60 mins that they may be able to get to us, because she had to fill all these prescriptions. I might ad at the time of this back in forth, there was no one in line waiting for anything. I took the forms to fill out and I told my parents that it was clear that they just do not want to do this. I also think that pharmacist was getting off around 2 pm which is why she wanted us to come back then so that the next shift would have to deal with it. I do not might waiting and I don't expect them to get to us immediately especially if there is a line but there WAS NO LINE. As for "I have a lot of prescriptions to fill" I totally do not get that excuse. Again there are always prescriptions to fill. Waiting customers should be given a priority and we were clearly waiting. Finally after about an hour she took both of my parents and she said I heard you say that "they just don't want to do it" she said that is not true and "i'm sorry you feel that way". And again staring making excuses about how she was the only pharmacist on duty, that the techs do not know what they are doing and that the man on the phone should not have given us bad information and that the weekend is the best time to come in for this??? completely opposite of what I was told on the phone. She said like a doctors office, you should have called us before you came to find out what the best time was, as if they were willing to take us by appointment. Again I know that was a lie, if you call like I did call they will say it all depends on the LINE and who is there to do it. I think from now on we will just go elsewhere. The only way to do this is not to plan ahead, just to show up and see if you get a nice Pharmacist who is willing to take the time, and if they start giving you excuses, then just walk away. I stand by my statement that she just didn't want to do it and I feel firmly that she was telling us to come back after she got off work. HEB needs to remove all the spinning signs about getting your immunizations any time because not with that woman you can't. read more

H-E-B - Grocery Near Me - Cedar Park, Texas

I prefer this location at 1431/183 for several reasons: 1) Most of the time, I am not buying anything too exotic, and although this is a smaller store, they have just about everything I could want/need. It's much easier to run in and out since the physical store is not as big as the Plus stores. 2) This location also plays awesome 80's music as well as some 70's disco, which is a plus in my book. I don't love going to the store, but listening to Duran Duran while trying to pick out a cut of pork? Now that's okay. 3) The manager also replies promptly with a phone call in response to emails. I've contacted this store several times requesting certain items, and the manager has always called to let me know not only that the product has been ordered but when the product has been stocked on the shelf. read more

This has been my preferred grocery store for 17 years. They are usually well stocked and easier to navigate than the bigger HEBs. That said they are in the middle of expanding this store. Because of this, parking is a mess and things are moved around a lot. Hopefully this is over fast. Be sure to check out he specials they usually have in the back by the meat department. There are usually this store only items at 50% off or more. read more

This store could use a face lift that's for sure. It is a bit out dated compared to the other HEB stores around these parts. The staff was very helpful when I went to get some shrimp and the guy was pretty entertaining when interacting with us. He says he has to keep things interesting when you deal with dead fish all day long. I was a little disappointed in the number of check outs that were open for a Saturday afternoon. We waited for a little while than I would have liked but I lived. read more

I much prefer the HEB off 620 and Anderson Mill. This HEB is much smaller and seems busier than most. The bakery isn't stocked as well either. However just like at every location, the employees are friendly and helpful. The building seems a little older but still kept very clean. read more

This is not my favorite H-E-B, but it is the most convenient. Perhaps I should call it my home away from home because of my frequency. I don't love the meat department, and will often go the extra bit down to the Parmer location. It also seems that the Parmer location has more to offer than this one. Almost like they are a full service, and an express service. The folks that work here are always nice though! read more

H-E-B is an amazing grocery store. They sell from food to amazing gifts and it's huge so every thing is organized

This is my favorite HEB. The seafood dept has variety of fish and they look fresh... I also enjoy the wine isle being as close to the produce isle as possible. My only beef is the cheese isle, why would you choose to put cheese away from the milk and other dairy products.. its a mind fu*&, but you get used to it after your second/third visit. I notice the variety of folks are diff than my other HEB across from Walmart, but the fresh selection and HEB reps willing to assist to make your shopping experience more enjoyable worth it. 10:30 am Weds Aug 25, 2021 I went into the store to buy some items for dinner for the rest of the week. I had 16 items total. There were two registers open with lines backed up into the grocery isles. There were 10 self check out Lanes, four of which were empty with no line. There was not a 20 items or less express lane open. I went to check out in the 10 items or less lane as there were no people waiting and four of the registers were open. I was stopped by an extremely rude and aggressive employee there who told me that I had too many items and turned me away from the checkout lane. I asked another employee if they were going to open more registers. She said she was going to get the manager. The manager comes over and I asked the manager to tell the employee at the self checkout lane that it wasOK for me to check out since I only had six extra items and they were barcodes on all of them. The manager then told me that they will not allow me to check out at the self check out lane and that the express lane register Clerk was on break But she was back and I needed to go over to the 20 items or less lane. The manager was extremely rude about it and by the time I checked out at the express lane line I could've already have been in my car and on my merry way. Instead they chose to be extremely petty about allowing me to check out at the self checkout registers. They also causing a scene and everyone was staring at me like I was a criminal for trying to go through the self checkout lane With an extra six items. I could understand if it was a Saturday morning all the registers were open and it couldn't be helped, But there was literally no one in line at the self checkout registers and four of them were empty. I have never been so embarrassed in my life that the manager an employee at HEB would cause such a commotion because I attempted to check out faster on my only day off. Very poor customer service I would recommend going to a different HEB read more

HEB is great! Not much else you can say but we moved here from out of state and have been so impressed with HEB in comparison to the other standard grocery stores in the other areas we've lived. If you're local and posting negative reviews then I'd encourage you to take a step back and really look at the amazing community around you, maybe you start to miss it after being here so long. read more

Sensitivity training for your employees is highly suggested. When having to go through your two open lanes on a Sunday morning for a price correction after using the self checkout, since the service desk opens at 10am on Sundays, the cashier decided to ask if I wanted to pay for the bag of dog food in my cart. Clearly if she had looked at my receipt that she was holding before asking such a question, she would have seen that it had been paid for at self check out along with all the other items in my cart. No need in offending your customers needlessly in front of other customers when you have proof that the items were paid for and I'm only there for you to correct the two like items on my receipt that rang up incorrectly. On top of this I already had to maneuver through pallets placed throughout the store from restocking. This was my favorite HEB to shop though not the nicest or cleanest around. I will start going to Lakeline or to the one a couple of miles up 1431. read more

I love this store though it is usually crowded. I do almost all my shopping here as well as buy gas. However, DON'T EVEN THINK OF USING THEIR CAR WASH. I did yesterday for my first and last time. It literally looked worse when I finished than when I drove in. I called the store about getting my money back. I am suppose to stop by when I return on Monday. If they give me any hassle it's directly to the credit card company. read more

After tonight I will never be back. While I was checking out (wearing mask & gloves) I went to go bag my own groceries because there wasn't anyone there to do it. A manager came up before I started bagging and said "you need to get back on the red square" with a rude attitude so she could bag them. I moved back to the square, and when all the groceries were scanned I stepped barely off the square to place my card in the card reader and again the manger said "I need you to get back and wait until I'm done" that when I said I was doing the same thing every person in front of me just did and she said "fine then bag your own groceries" and thew my groceries on the counter and walked off. It's honestly embarrassing HEB would even hire someone with that kind of attitude. Not sure what the woman's issue was but guaranteed I will never be back. Wouldn't recommend this HEB to anyone just go across the street to Walmart. read more

I love shopping at this particular HEB because it's clean and pretty inside. However...they are always out of stuff so someone please tell me why I keep going back? On more than one occasion, different doctors have called in prescriptions to this pharmacy, and after giving them a decent amount of time (45-60 minutes), each time I arrived at the drive-thru to be told that the prescription was not ready, or had not been received. Usually it was that the staff hadn't checked their messages. Then I'd have to wait another hour or more for them to complete the order. They do get a star for having a drive-thru. But what's the point if I park the car and go into the store with a fussy toddler because they tell me it'll be ready in 20 minutes, and I'm still waiting in the store an hour later with a fussy toddler? This HEB location is just Aiiggghhhtt. They have had remodeling going on there for a while now. Its ok for a quick trip of a few needed things. They do not seem to have everything that the 2800 East Whitestone location a mile or two away has. I find the deli lacking. There seems to be the same grumpy lady working whenever I have tried getting deli meats. They also over cook their in house roast beef. The parking is Atrocious right now! I cant wait to see if this gets any better. read more

This review is on the HEB at 170 E. Whitestone in Cedar Park. That is at the corner of Bell Blvd (or N183) and FM 1431. This is the 'old' HEB that has been on this corner for at least 20 years. All in all I think HEB is more worthy than any other store chain in the Austin area. It has better, more affordable, produce than Randalls, Target, or WalMart. But, over the years HEB's once good prices have suffered. This chain no longer offers the good discounts it once did. All discounts are essentially compensated to protect the store's profits by boosting the base price, a little at a time, so customers tend not to notice. Yes, I realize there is inflation, but there is price boost and then there is inflation, HEB has its hands in both. An interesting thing about HEB, aside from the fact that they are a homegrown grocery chain and are located in about every town in Texas, they have also grown their generic in-store brand for an enormous number of products, from pharmaceuticals to tamales. HEB has a brand and Hill Country Fare has a brand, and it is sometimes difficult to tell the difference. Overall their HEB brand seems a little higher quality than HCF, yet lesser than the major brands. The products are discounted over brand names so in this area they do offer discounts that help working families. Im not smitten with their discounts though. They are about making money, make no mistake. The hype about HEB as a discount food store isnt true. You'd save more by shopping at Walmart. Dont think I have nothing to compare to - I lived in another part of the country so have seen the inside of other grocery chains, organic food stores, health food stores and co-ops. There are things I like about the store and obviously the hard working people who make their living in grocery retail most of the time dont deserve a bad rap. But as a consumer, I too have some (rather low I think) expectations about my shopping experience and the fact that Im handing over my own hard earned cash. The reason I'm giving it low stars - customer service is poor. From management on down to cart guys the people are not very friendly and in some cases rude and unhelpful to the extent of actually giving misdirection on purpose. Some of the checkers, baggers and the produce people are good, if I could rate them separately I would. Some act like just having to deal with you really brings them down. Jeez! - Sorry! Point 1. HEB employees dont have situational awareness and have often practically walked into me. In retail employees should give customers the right of way, after all they are trying to manoever large shopping carts through small aisles without running into people. Have some sense and just slow the hell down. It is rude to run over your customers. Point 2. I dont consider this store adequately managed. Often when you try to shop the aisles are blocked by pallets of food in boxes that rude stockers are in the process of putting on shelves. Why dont they do that after hours like most stores? Probably management is too lazy to run a midnight to four shift. And, often the shelves are just empty and what products are left are in disarray. So good luck in finding that loaf of wheat bread you came to the store for. Point 3. The store used to be dirty, they have tried to clean it up and for the most part I cant complain about the floors, esp. with all their daily traffic. But the frozen cases and dairy cases do not seem clean. The in-floor cold cases are ancient. Does this make you wonder about the working conditions for their in-store brands? It does me. Point 4. They often have stock that is past the due date. If you shop in this HEB Check the Due Date! Back to point 2 -this is an example of mismanagement. Good stock manager knows that you put first in date to the back of the shelf and sell older product (that is still within its due date ) first. AND you pull everything that is past its due date. No if ands or buts - just pull it. It is nasty to sell food products that are beyond their due date. I once found a tub of margarine or butter substitute that was 10 months beyond its due date. Can your stockers read? Well, even if they cannot read, management should be able to read. And they should be checking their products on the shelf. Point 5. HEB bakery used to be special. No more. The bakery goods are overpriced, bland, and tasteless. The variety is minimal and tends to cater to the Hispanic customer base. The bakery also apparently uses some kind of strange fats or oils in baking. Yechh. Point 6. If you have a complaint an interaction in this store and try to take it up with a manager, all I can say is, Good Luck. You are better off to take your business down the street to the other HEB on 1431. They have a lot of good reviews. Maybe they value customers, you know like the people who drop $850/month? I guess these days HEB is so mainstream and successful that they dont really value the individual customer. read more

BAD STORE. For some reason the people are stand offish. Kinda rude not helpful to the customer. I actually saw a cashier follow a customer out of the store to their car and write down their license plate number, makes me wonder what they do behind closed doors around there. Makes me think of the days of "Big Brother". I can absolutely guarantee I will not go back to that store and maybe not to an H.E.B. at all. This is my first time in this location. I always shop at the parmer/whitestone location. Its older but has the same deals as the HEB I go to. I'm glad I went here for groceries with my mom and my grandmother mainly because of the awesome customer service I received from the cashier Zachary P. The young man helped me with the in-store coupons (2) that I totally forgot in my cart. I have two toddlers with me and I was oblivious to the coupons. Very pleasant experience and great customer service. Thank you! read more

A frequent question I have but has never been answered: WHY ARE THERE 27 LANES AND ONLY 4 OPEN??? This HEB is constantly busy, the only way to get there with a few people in front of you is to go either at 6 am or 10pm, to avoid the absolutely ridiculous crowds. Parking is inadequate and cramped with all the stonework they have; people almost collide trying to maneuver around the parking lot. The pharmacy is ok, we have been patients there almost a year and will be moving soon due to issues we've had with them. Overall, not happy with these guys. Unfortunately, they're convenient so I suppose we're stuck with them. read more

Friendly Service, Plenty of open registers and they're quick to open more so you never have to wait long. Great selection, great prices. I REALLY enjoy the fact i don't need to be a "member" to get savings. On warning, don't shop there hungry! :) Not only do they have a great selection of food & household items their imported Beer and vast wine selection is a great selection to chose from and the prices are really good! I move to TX from PA and i'm used to being ripped off in state stores for wine & beer so i really enjoy having a convenient selection :) BTW, their sushi bar is great for their prices, its fresh and yummy! read more

This HEB isn't my typical store. We usually go up north to the one in Leander. But this one is closer to my house and easier to stop by on my way home.
