Don't go there as as often as I would like because the prices have gone up too much. But I was excited today, New Year's Day, to go there and get me a rotisserie chicken cause I had to travel a lot so I would love to just eat that in the car. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed, the chicken was the most bland chicken I've ever tasted in my life. I don't think they even use a little salt and pepper on it. Every time I walk in the building I am always amazed at the team work, smiling faces and the staff welcoming you into the establishment. My reason for the trip was two fold. I was returning items to Amazon and stopping for a quick lunch before heading to run more errands. There was a line for Amazon but it was moving fast. I was in and out in no time. The workers were very kind, they greeted me, checked in my products and return my funds. Then I proceeded to the PIZZA bar because it is one of my favorites. I don't live far from this location and I wanted to splurge on my favorite. As i proceeded to the bar there were two slices that looked cold and was very noticeable. I asked the First worker if there was any fresh pizza and she responded "That is all we have" I calmly walked back to the pizza bar and noticed a 2nd worker and she told me 20 minutes. I said okay. I did notice she was doing other things after about 5-10 minutes so I inquired again. She stated " It will be 30 minutes" I politely walked away and said okay. I proceeded to front of store and spoke with a front desk manager who listened to my concerns. While she was explaining what occurred, I was appalled at shift manager who interrupted to try and offer and explanation. Well honestly I can go on and on about what went wrong but let me shift this review So many times people place a review but never discuss the DAMAGE CONTROL done to rectify the situation. The front end manager( AFRICAN AMERICAN LADY) I forgot her name IMMEDIATELY APOLOGIZED and took full ownership of what occurred. Secondly the Pizza manager MRS CAROLYN apologized, made a fresh pizza and walked me to the register with my order on the house. Then to top it all off the GENERAL MANAGER TONY WAS EXEMPLARY!!! I literally wanted to cry, he not one time tried to downsize my feelings or the incident. I was embarrassed and he ACKNOWLEDGED ALL OF MY CONCERNS. Not to be confused with the Ho Foods Market which is where Barbi and I shop. Ethically, this company is a 1/5 for me, but we don't talk about that on Yelp apparently. Whole Foods is massively overpriced, a lot of the good stuff they have is healthy, but a lot of it is mis-labeled, although that is a US issue, not a Whole Foods issue. I do like their spring water and their choc milk, but those are more expensive than ever. You know Katy is bougie now that it has this lavish, extensive Whole Foods. We certainly can't afford to shop here regularly. I usually puke when I eat most things from here, so it's Hurl Foods, not Whole Foods. read more

OK, so it's lunch time so I decided to try the sushi at Whole Foods as I normally buy it at another grocery store nearby. This was my first time so I tried their new raw tuna spicy lava roll. I thought it was very tasty although the tuna itself was a little mushy. I'm not sure if they use a different type of tuna, but it was very soft like melting in your mouth which I was not used to, but the flavors were banging. Also, at $14.99 it's more pricier than most grocery stores. As always, the service was great and the Asian lady at the sushi counter was very helpful in helping me choose one I liked. Of course it's mostly overpriced but it's understandable considering the people they're marketing for & u do mostly get what u pay for, although some things here could certainly be found at a cut cost grocer but there are unique things here u can't get at that savings retailer like fresh lions mane mushrooms or Nguyen Vietnamese coffee or stokes purple sweet potatoes. And sometimes they DO have the best price like today the stokes we 1.7$/lb which is far cheaper than anywhere else (rare to find anyways) and it's regularly this low I've noticed, plus they do amazon returns very easy and don't have to deal with a person which is nice sometimes and they open at 8, so plenty of reasons for me even if i brought my own coffee with me yet STILL paid 6$ for a 7.5oz specialty can anyways...they know well do that lol! read more

I called ahead to confirm the coffee shop was open and was told it was. I arrived less than 20 minutes later, only to find it closed. I spoke to the manager, who said the employee had stepped away, but they called her back to assist. When she arrived, she was immediately dismissive, rude, and unprofessional--barely acknowledged me, pointed to the "closed" sign without any explanation, and walked away mid-conversation. What made this worse was the clear sense that I was being racially profiled--her tone, attitude, and body language were unnecessarily hostile and made me feel unwelcome. This kind of treatment is unacceptable anywhere, but especially at a store like Whole Foods that claims to value inclusivity and respect. We grab 4 pizzas here cooked and ready to go, grab 5 salads, some wine and the shopping once per week........but ewww this time wet pizzas, wet and soggy zero salad selection and really it seems grocery selection had gotten worse and the draw for us the pizza really is missing the mark. The prepackaged salad's really offer no choices for dairy free alternatives. We all but changed to a Super Kroger, service, price and selection is world class, wine for days and the freshness is above reproach. We love it and we've been Whole Foods customers for 19 years but after today we have said goodbye. Refund has been offered on pizza, really should have been the entire purchase! I hate to be THAT person to complain but after years of shopping here with my husband for groceries and spending a hefty sum every time we go I had to say something! I do not appreciate having their associates watch me like I'm doing something wrong or hovering over me as I scan every single item I'm buying. I'm Black, I'm already uncomfortable being watched as I shop but now at checkout this lady with glasses and hair up in a bun wants to stare me down. I watched her do this same thing while in line, to a Hispanic lady and her husband as they spoke Spanish the employee just hovered over them pretending to open the paper bags for no one! On top of all this please explain to me why they have moldy fruit and expired milk but when you bring it to an employees attention they act bothered?! Whole Foods need to do better isn't this 2024? Pretty standard non-flagship Whole Foods store where they have their best selling products but not things you would find at their bigger stores (Like in Uptown, 5th street in Austin, etc.) They have a little bar in there too which might be nice if you're on this side of town and don't want to deal with going to a bar. I wasn't terribly impressed by their a la carte meal selection though. There were like 2 types of protein and the rest just fillers not worth the price. read more

Love coming to this store for shopping. They always have an amazing array of groceries, treats and goods. Like to stop by the deli for easy deli salads and dishes already prepared to avoid cooking in the weekends. My family loves the Chesapeake Bay Shrimp salad and the Pesto and Mozzarella salad. read more

The kale salad is FULL of sugar and honey. However, my real complaint is that each time I have a need for a healthy juice, their juice bar is always closed. Today, I was told that they are now closed at 4pm (yes, barely). And there's not even a sign posted. Anyway, I'm most dismayed by the simple fact that a store who supposedly supports health closes it's juice bar in the peak of the day is insane. It makes for more shopping but we get what we find best at each of these different stores. Wholefood's is a pillar to that strategy. Someone out in the Austin Headquarters finally saw the value in bringing a Whole Foods to Katy(Good Job). I have heard for some time that a Whole Foods was coming to Katy but I thought that was as unrealisitc as having a President of Color(So I been wrong before but I am not complaining) The store is very big and has all the naturual and organic staples you would expect from them. The inside was very well lit and spacious. Something I had never seen before was that they had an armed police officer at the entrance area which was kinda weird to see at a Whole Foods. Not sure if they have been having problems with crime since opening. When we walked in we were greeted by the usual employee offering us samples. They had sushi and it was very good. In every department there was free samples for you to try. All the items were easy to find and clearly marked. The restroom was very clean and they have a seating area outside for Coffee,Sandwiches,etc and what not. I don't shop here for all my grocery needs such as food and toiletries but I do love their specialty Cheeses and I know I can get any niche or organic products that I can not find in regular stores here. My only sugesstion would be to get rid of the police officer or station him in an area away from customers. I have to admit I was a little creeped out. read more

I am only reviewing the meat here. I bought a 20 oz ribeye for $17.09 and it was delicious. Very tender and cooks perfect. It's hard to review this because all Whole Foods did was hand me the steak and I did the work, but I have cooked steaks perfectly before and they have tasted very tough or just bad. Sweet heavens! What anti-frugal demon decided to bring this monstrosity to Katy?!? Why would you charge this much for everything?!? Dang it...frugal meter is on life support just walking through here. Plenty of parking leading to this place, and I am certain that they have plenty of loyal followers. For the likes of me, I cannot understand why, but I am sure they do have loyal legions! What the heck is are those pumps at the edge of parking area? Are those electric care pumps? Are those natural gas pumps? I went at night, so I didn't think it would be wise to snoop around those things in the dark. I walked into the store and noticed the word "organic" and "local" everywhere. I think that is a good thing. Supporting local businesses are always an awesome concept. I started to look at the prices and my inner Hulk wanted to smash the place. Why would anyone want to charge this much for people to eat healthier? Where is the closest cheap, bad eats? My word, this place is insane with pricing! Did I just see a small tub or cut up watermelon for almost $11?!? Who do I smash? The plan for this store must be to try to stand out obesity. No one could afford to eat much here with their pricing. I don't doubt the quality of their foods...but all that is good and frugal; I rather just go to some other place and buy at least twice as many items for the same amount of money. There are a lot of cool food items that are exclusive to them, but none of that is worth me coming back over here. I must admit that their local soda, made with 100% cane sugar is quite tasty. Their lemon line soda was good, but the red cream soda was great! At 70 cent per 12 ounce can, that is not that bad of a deal...but still I can get a bad soda for a lot cheaper and a lot bigger! All in all, coming here is worth the experience, but I am not a fan or their pricing. I think there is a reason they have a fully stocked bar and winery towards the back of the store...because you would truly have to be drunk as heck to enjoy shopping here! I have to say I'm a fan of Whole Foods... If I'm needing a few specialty items. For everyday shopping it's not for me, the prices are just too high. They have a great selection of wine, beer, cheese, breads, organic foods. It's fun to walking around and check out the items you don't see at your average grocery chain. They were sampling a hatch pepper goat cheese spread this past time. If they still have it I would recommend picking up some as it was great. You can also have a glass of wine or beer on draft while you shop. They have a bar in the middle of the store. Lots of options for lunch as well, oven baked pizza, sushi, habanero grilled cheese, bbq bar, salad bar, fried chicken and much more. I had the bacon burger and fries. It was FANTASTIC!. The bun was some type of focaccia sourdough fusion, the burger was thick, juicy and well seasoned. The bacon was thick cut and some of the best that I have ever had. Yep, I will be coming here just to grab a burger for lunch. Did I tell you it was FANTASTIC!!! The store has always been clean and the employees have always been friendly and helpful.
