Avoid this location at all costs! Their pharmacist, John Blanchett, is a complete a** ! And that is putting it nicely. I went there last night to get a COVID shot. Long story short, my getting the shot necessitated a phone call to my specialist. I asked him if he could just wait one minute while I called her and handed the phone to him. He had the nerve to say "It's not like I have a million and one things to do", and he walked off. He was also extremely rude to my specialist. If you are not willing to be polite and work with your customers who need care like you were trained to provide, you have no business being a pharmacist! I would give 0 stars if that were an option. The curbside order I've been waiting on for 25 hours was not filled as promised before 9 pm this evening. I am sick and hungry. Online status of my order indicated 3 minor substitutions I was OK with. The order was never completed, but my credit card was charged. When I called the store manager Tom after 9 pm, he said I would have to call back in the morning since he can't access my order. Their store is open until 11 pm. Someone should have helped me. I'm hungry and sick, and thought I could count on H‑E‑B's promise, so I refrained from entering the store with COVID. The manager clearly did not even care. Very sad & disappointing! read more

The pharmacy people are horrible. They have lied twice about my prescription. I have had to come back because they apparently receive the prescription 12 minutes ago. They asked me to come back after 2. I did & apparently they received my prescription 13 minutes ago. They had me get back in line so they can help the other customers. Being stupid I did so. Now it's my insurance. I asked them server all times if they had the correct information. The girl at the window had no idea. She didn't understand what I was asking. They suck. Even if this wasn't the most convenient HEB for me, I would come shop here. I like the large store with room for lots of customers. There are a few areas of the store with merchandise I just don't think needs to be in a grocery store, such as bedding, towels, cheap clothes. The quality of foods that I find here are good. I am almost always pleased with the produce as well as the deli and the seafood and the meats. Everything is well stocked when I go shopping, which luckily for me is usually a Thursday or Friday morning. The "partners" who work here are always friendly and helpful. When I go to one of the counters, they will offer me samples when possible or they will help me out with suggestions for selecting or cooking the products. Then there are chefs always cooking up something at the station in front of the meat department. They make good foods and try to show something that would be new and different to most of us. Those chefs are always more than happy to help with cooking ideas. I have nothing but good things to say about this store as a whole, especially the people working there. The only thing that takes off that final star is that even in such a huge store there are national brand items I can't find because they want to sell more of the HEB brand. The HEB brand is usually very good but in some cases its just not enough. Lucky for me, I get to go back, often. read more

I started coming here when this store first opened. Back then it was a treat and an experience. Felt like a pretty high end store, reminiscent of places like Wegman's on the east coast. Well organized, immaculately clean, nice amenities (drink bar near the middle of the store with huge selection of books and magazines, lots of comfortable seating.) great selection of quality goods. A really nice and useful customer loyalty program that engendered, well, customer loyalty. Today, it is a dump. Dirty, re-disorganized regularly, sullen staff, crap goods. The parking lot is a nightmare. I've avoided this place like the plague for a couple of years. Today, I went in to fill a prescription for my wife. I initially took the scrip to Walgreens, but thy didn't have it in stock. Exhibiting good customer service, Walgreens called around for it and found it here. So I bopped over, however reluctantly, to HEBERT Plus. Dropped off my scrip and was told it would be an hour wait. Well, I had little choice. I went over to the books and magazine area to kill a little time. I found their bookshelves replete with fictional anti-Obama propaganda. I realize this is Williamson County, but I found the amount of books by intellectual midgets like Ann Coulter to be repugnant. Wandered back to the pharmacy and sat in the waiting area. My wife contacted me saying she had gotten a phoebe call from the HEB pharmacy saying they didn't have this medicine in stock (despite what they had told he Walgreens pharmacist) but that the HEB Plus in Leander did. I went to speak with the staff. They acknowledged talking to my wife (why they didn't just call her name in the waiting area so I could speak with them directly remains a mystery.) After resolving a problem with my insurance card, the pharmacy tech said she ws going to call Leander to see if they had it (hadn't this already been done by this very person who had spoken with my wife?) when another pharmacy tech said, "Is this about (medicine name)? I've got it right here." Sooooo... They don't communicate much in the pharmacy. What's the worst that could happen (besides killing someone with the wrong medicine or so)? So: 1. Dirty 2. Poorly organized store 3. Awful parking lot 4. Poor communication in the pharmacy 5. Laden with right wing propaganda I'm done, HEB. It was nice when it started. Missed "Hero" opportunity from manager. I bought a turkey (not from HEB) that was potentially rot when I opened it up to thaw the Weds night before Thanksgiving. I rushed to HEB and got there at 11:15 PM, 15 mins after they had already closed. I explained my situation to a person (I assume cashier) at the door and she was very sympathetic to my situation. She went inside to talk to a manager, I could see through the glass door she waved her hand to the cashier "No". She came out to talk to me, but I had already known the result. She stated that all the machines were shut down, etc. I told her, I can pay you cash right now and you can ring it up tomorrow. I'll just run in and grab just a turkey real quick. She said no and stated they open up at 6AM and I could come by then. I told her I need time for the turkey to thaw and it would be un-cookable if I came back in the morning. She would not budge, cold as ice. Considering this was Thanksgiving and she knew every other place was closed and this was my last opportunity, she really could have come out a hero for an extra 10 mins of work. I realize they prob had a long day, but really, I would have done it for someone in the same situation. I find it really doubtful HEB has a hard rule otherwise. I was not belligerent, very nice because I am reasonable enough to know that I arrived 15 mins after they had already closed. But she really missed an opportunity to be a hero. read more

This is my family's HEB! We love it there, from the race car shopping cars to the random visits by H-E-B Buddy himself! The employee's are amazing and always make my kids smile and offer to help us out with our groceries. Shhhh, don't tell anyone but sometimes we get 2 or 3 buddy bucks. We had already begun our checkout and a manager wanted my husband and I to move our groceries back into our cart and move to a different express lane because we had more than 15 items. There was no line behind us and it seemed he cared more about power tripping than ensuring customers were taken care of. We felt it was a poor display of management. The best HEB that we've been to so far....and so far it is. Its 15 minutes from our closest HEB. Its huge, not crowded, and greeted with very friendly staff. If we had the choice this HEB would be our go-to. The one thing I would say is the organization and categorization needs improving throughout all HEBs including this one. For instance finding organic shredded cheese is in the meat section next to organic chicken, not where the cheese is. read more

Nothing in California like it, well stocked with everything including food, clothes, toys, etc. We were visiting family for 10 days and stopped here almost everyday. I got fresh flowers, pastries, pies, ready-to-eat food, salads, wine, cheese dip, chips, drugs and much more during our stay that made the trip possible. And I agree with a previous review that the prices were very very low compared to California. Amazing. read more

Been a long time since I have been to this side of town, and I can say I was disappointed with the visit today...Not near a s nice when it first opened...very limited selection (only 4) on Pork Butts in Ad...and they were marked with the wrong price per pound. Just didn't really catch our eye with anything. Then again were comparing it to the new Lake Line store. And for the cloth selection, way to much for a HEB...felt like we were at Walmart..Checker was rude as well, she tells my wife as she "tries" to grab her cigs "you can have those until the transaction is completed" What kinda crap is that...HEB partners should now better than to treat customers like that...I have NEVER been told that at any store I shop at, including the HEB I work for... This location used to be my favorite...now it is the WORSE place to shop! The card machines have not been efficient for MONTHS and the staff is not very personable or friendly. Today I spent more time TRYING to check out than my (large)shopping! The front end mgr was not very helpful and the cashier was not a PEOPLE PERSON herself. It took 3 different staff members to complete my transaction and only 1 of them acknowledged my presence. When is an HEB plus more like an HEB minus? I'm not sure a distance definition has been created but I give this HEB zero pluses. You feel like you're in a warehouse version of a fiesta rather than an HEB. Lighting is strangely dim and the aisles just don't look appealing. As I understand it, "HEB Plus" stores are a cross between an HEB, Central Market and a Target. This HEB plus is like a cross between the Oltorf HEB a bad Fiesta and a small town Sam's Club. Loud televisions with competing messages trying to sell you on something or another destroy whatever sanity you may have had when you entered. The food is spread out making you have to walk past non-grocery items and the selections isn't even extensive given the footprint. Sometimes more isn't more. This is one of those times. Sorry HEB, but this store doesn't represent the good image that you otherwise have. read more

This is regarding their automated car wash. It is very fine consuming. Unless you have nothing else to do that day do not use it. The machine is super slow. If there are cars already in line do your self a favor and spend your money on the pros. As you can see on my pics I have been waiting well over 10 minutes for a quick wash. It was not worth it. The machine should have spent more time air drying and killed it at the end. After a solid 20 min my car came out with more water spots than it did going in. read more

I'm a Texan, and HEB is where I have always shopped. The quality of the products keeps me coming back, and just as important is the way they treat their employees. I have had several friends who worked here and nobody has a bad thing to say about HEB as a company. That's worth a star all by itself. Now the store. You get top marks for produce, deli, and meat market. There are always a few folks attending to the produce and meat market, and they are always willing to chat about what is freshest and what the best deal of the day is. The dry good section is extensive, and the downside is that they carry so many products that they will occasionally be out of what you are looking for. The beer/wine section is adequate. A reasonable selection for a grocery store. I would have given HEB plus five stars except you are starting to look like a Wal-Mart. Please decide what you are. For me, the outdoor center was useless and I never went there. I rarely go in the movie/CD area because your prices are too high. Those were both fine with me because they were in the back corner of the store and out of the way, but I have a problem with what you are doing now. Clothing? Really? Please refocus on what you do, and continue to do it well. Your furniture is a poor quality, your electronics are poor quality, and you insist on spreading this stuff all over the store hoping for impulse purchases. Please be a grocery store, and please do it well. You can expand your bakery. You could significantly expand your beer/wine selection and give Specs a serious run for their money. Luckily I don't have to shop at this HEB any more as they opened a brand new one much closer to my house. My experience at this HEB is it is always super crowded and checking out is a complete nightmare. I have had many times here where the grocery shopping wasn't bad, but when I get to the checkout lines, I have pondered leaving everything and walking out. They did used to have some pluses like an electronics section that had some good deals sometimes, but they have since removed all the things that were an advantage of this HEB over others. The parking lot for this HEB is also a nightmare. The one plus to this HEB plus is it is still one of the larger ones around so I'm guessing they might have some items that your local HEB might not, I just don't know what those items are. read more

The true history of this Texas Iconic Grocery Store is that it was founded by Florence Butt on November 26, 1905 in Kerrville, TX. The name was CC Butts Grocery. Florence opened this store on the ground floor of her home. In 1919, her son, Howard Edward Butt took over the store after returning home from World War I. After several attempts to expand failed, Howard finally successfully opened a second store in 1927 and changed the name to H-E-B. Today they have over 350 stores. Some are smaller and some are huge which are known as H-E-B Plus. They also own stores known as Central Market. You can find just about everything you need here. They have fresh seafood, a bakery, tons of vegetables and fruits, unique Texas items, a deli and so much more. They have free samples to try as you walk though the store as well as wine and beer tastings. They carry my five favorites wines here and the prices are reasonable, not only for their wine but also for their groceries. The workers are always happy and very friendly. Some locations also have fuel pumps and a car wash. H-E-B is "The Best" grocery store in the U. S. hands down. read more

Probably the best thing about Texas. Seriously. When I moved to the East Coast for a year I was having withdraw symptoms from not being able to shop at H.E.B. Now that I'm back in the ATX though I'm a much better person, haha. I'm not saying this is THE greatest H.E.B. I've been to (I love the Central Market one they have in Austin better) but it's the best one in the Round Rock area by far. I always choose between this one and the smaller one off of Red Bud and Gattis School. Anyway, yes, it's a pain that they're always stocking but it's better than the shelves being empty, right? My only real complaint is that they don't seem to have a set number of baggers, or they're always understaffed from what I've witnessed. To me, there should be a set bagger for each cashier, not having them run back and forth bagging here and there. It's annoying to me when I have to help bag my own groceries. Oh, and parking sucks at this place. Other than that, this HEB has an awesome selection of just about everything. I don't think I've been one time where I went in and didn't find what I needed, and that includes items for my house. read more

I will admit that when this HEB plus first opened, I was not a fan. The layout was strange, I could never find what I needed and it was always super crowded. But, I stuck with it and now I go there whenever I need groceries. I do have the HEB card and every quarter, I manage to earn $11-13 in "HEB bucks"--this is coming from a household of 2 (well, last year it was 1 since my husband was deployed for all of 2007). I can only imagine what a family with kids must get! So, all the coupons and what not definitely lure me in. The store is always clean, it has a good selection and I do like that it has a bulk item section so I can buy what I need. As for some of the other items it offers such as bedding or electronics, I dont really venture to that section of the store--I just stick to the food. read more

This is an HEB Plus. Let me start by saying I'm originally from San Angelo and when HEB came to town, let's just say it was a town event. Literally. This is all anyone could talk about for months. Maps were handed out at the door. Coffee all around serving the Taste of Texas. Who doesn't LOVE HEB? After leaving TX and coming back, HEB was 1st on my list! I'd never seen an HEB plus but I was super excited to see it. Some major differences: 1) they sell clothes here for all kinds of Texas sport teams... move over Academy 2) they sell lawn chairs for all kinds of teams including.. get this... ASU, yes Angelo State University has a chair here. wow. never thought i'd see the day. 3) No more chinese food in the HEB restaurants .now its prepacked, if they have it. But they have a cafe called "SPOONZ" where they serve an array of different types of food to include but not limited to: Menudo! Yes I was as shocked as you must be! 4) They have sushi stations. nice.. 5) Seafood stations. very reasonably priced 6) they even sell pots & pans to texas shaped waffle makers 7) they sell elote! they have a mexican fruit/food stand in the middle of the produced section! elote and strawberries and cream, etc. 8) what don't they have, let's just be real. I love walmart. I'm a walmart devoted shopper. Have been for years. Since moving back to Texas I've been to Walmart maybe 2x in a 3.6 month span. Yes it might have something to do with the fact that the closest one is kinda far (hester's crossing) and I live near University. Let's face facts: HEB runs this joint. and that's just the honest to goodness truth. Another reason to shop here: they have coupons. for everything. So this is actually an HEB Plus location. Found myself in Round Rock on business and needed to pick up supplies. They say everything is bigger in Texas, this place is f'in massive. Groceries, Electronics, bakery it has it all. They have an excellent beer \ wine selection esp for a grocery store. Ended up going back here a second time to pick up some knick-knacks before heading back home. I visited a couple of HEB's in the Round Rock area during my visit and this was by far my fave location. There was never a line when I was ready to check out, they always had more than enough cashiers ready to go. read more

HEB is good. HEB Plus is best! I go this HEB when I want to peruse rather than go in & out. It's pretty big, and there's plenty of stuff to distract you Wal-Mart style. I prefer to send my Pharmacy items to the smaller HEB on Greenlawn. There's never a line there & a little drive-thru. The Pharmacy at this location is usually intense. More than 5 families in line, trying to check out, asking questions, etc. Eeek! The plus of the HEB plus (hehe) is several extra sections. I enjoy the outdoor section for seeds and such, and an expanded auto & home section. But like I said, beware of the distraction & impulse buy danger! I go to HEB because of the good selection of generic items that are better than the name-brand. HEB makes several items I buy regularly that aren't even made by other brands including unsalted Tortilla Chips! Yay! I can also make the argument that I'm boosting the Texas economy!?!?!! read more
