Prices could be better, but the food is always of great quality. The employees are always helpful and friendly. This time, I was struggling with my overflowing cart and a chronic back pain and although I refused assistance, a very kind employee named Ezra wouldn't take no for an answer. He pushed my cart out and loaded my car for me. I wished I had cash to tip him, but he didn't care. He was just joyfully going above and beyond. So sweet! Why am I in tears typing this?! So frustrated and disappointed at the lack of HEB values at this location. Food Items expired on the shelves, customer service and managers lack of urgency when told of items and to top it off.... Have y'all had those 6.00 cookies from Disneyland? HEB HAS THEM FOR 2.00!!!! I bought my sister some fresh flowers, fruit for the plane ride home, and cookies for California. My favorite HEB not just because it's close to me, but because the workers are on point, their food is always fresh, the atmosphere is light like yours in a Target SuperStore. FYI, their ginger shots in the produce section are A-1!!! Don't forget to check them out. From self checkout lanes, to a 25 item and under express lane, to including the heb ready to heat meal options -- this heb is perfect. Delivered my pie crusts in destroyed condition. Even one of the pie pans was ripped. I contacted the store and they would not take a picture as proof. Instead they insisted i return the item to the store. I informed them i am elderly and babysitting my two youngest grandchildren ages 1 and 4. I am not going to carry them to the car and strap them in carseats and then into a grocery cart and take 30 minutes of our Saturday evening just to get back $2.50. On this particular visit on November 17, HEB employee ANKE ( badge and all) cut in front of while waiting to purchase a cake at the bakery. Since I moved to Texas, I've discovered how awesome HEB is when I need to grab a quick cook-able meal or fresh meat, or just some simple frozen foods. Although this is not the closest one to where I currently live (that being the one on FM-78), I am willing to travel further to this one for its cleaner appearance and wider selection. The store has a fresh fish section, but I noticed that it does not have a fresh meat section like many of its sister stores. Instead, there is just a large selection of meats to choose from whether it be seasoned or not. There are even chunky tomahawk steaks too, and man to I love to BBQ. The only reason I would deduct a star from a place such as this is that sometimes, the selection would be depleted early in the day, and it would not be replaced. I understand that staffing is an issue, but you can't afford more staffing if more product isn't sold! Coming from shopping at stores like Target, Wal-Mart, Costco, Sam's Club, I always find myself coming back to an HEB, and specifically this one. read more

I enjoy the great food HEB prepares. HEB has prep made Thanksgiving meals and great tamales I served for Christmas.

This HEB is conveniently down the road & although they hold good stock on hand sometimes it can be hard to find what you need or you find less stock and quality. The employees are always really helpful though in trying to assist me or other visitors in the store: stockers, cashiers, managers, even the personal shoppers. HEB has competitive prices and have some great selections when it comes to their Hill Country brand. This store is decently clean and busy regularly, but it would benefit from a few upgrades. read more

I bought this soup because HEB didn't have any other brand and I was sorely disappointed. Not only did it have 0 flavor, it was like eating the dirty dish water out of my sink after a family chicken dinner. I tried dipping my grilled cheese into it to add flavor to the soup, and it eradicated the flavor from my sandwich. I added salt and it did nothing. Crackers did nothing. Your soup was so horrible it curdled my tastebuds and made me projectile vomit all over my plants. My dentist says I need emergency surgery for my lack of tastebuds due to eating your blasphemy of a soup. Never in my 17 years of life have I ever tasted something so foul and flavorless, and this is coming from a white household. A WHITE HOUSEHOLD. We are definitely fans of HEB. My wife sent me to get taco meat. When I walked by the grill area, I noticed the pound of fajita chicken meat for $7.99, I thought I could get that for tacos and save a step as wife was working and I was in charge of the tacos. I bought the pound of meat, but was disappointed when I got it out and the meat was charred, overcooked, and rock hard. Instead of having the texture of fajita meat, it was like chicken jerky, almost impossible to chew. Not going to buy that again. read more

I like this location the best--it's the cleanest HEB I've been to so far. Service: needs some work. Some act like they don't want to be there or get irritated that we're making them work by going to their register. Fill those positions with people that would love/appreciate having a job. Been shopping at H‑E‑B since the early 80's so I can say that I have had my fair share of visits to most of their SA locations. I understand that we are experiencing troubled times after the pandemic and under this God Awful admin in DC destroying our nation. I've always enjoyed H‑E‑B's low prices, coupons, selection and convenience, but as of late I cannot get over the fact that their prices are what they have become. Everything I shop for is at least 75 to 100% higher than recent years. I really feel like H‑E‑B has just hopped on the bandwagon of screwing their customer base without a second thought. Im just so sick of it!!! When will or WILL it ever get back to normal?? Please do us a favor and quit continuing to mislead everyone with LOW PRICES signage everywhere in your locations. staff are happy to help and answer questions. it can get extremely busy but staff does not get lazy when it's crowded. they keep the store flowing as best they can. the deli food is good, like the hot food. the drive in and delivery staff are happy to help on the phone. if you notice an issue with a product they are more than happy to help you report it, like an incorrect barcode, etc. it's nice they play music in the store. read more

No better or no worse than any other HEB I have been to. However, it is my opinion that the steaks and chicken (pretty much any meat) at HEB really suck overall. Sorry, good prices but really low quality. I guess i have been spoiled by the quality at Costco... The variety of other items earns it 3 stars though. Regarding the comments about the layout and the employees - I really don't see any difference in any HEB I go to. The layout doesn't really bother me and I've never really had a bad experience with any employee at any HEB. ALL of them seem to be crowded whenever I go though. I love my local HEB but not their curbside. I can't justify the cost of their curbside fee, when I've received completely wrong orders, missing items and food about to expire in a day or two. The service and products were great when this was first offered but now it's declined. Sending a survey immediately after my purchase doesn't allow customers to address these issues without having to go to other outlets. Unfortunately, my last attempts to resolve issues don't seem to be taken seriously, as I continue to receive subpar curbside service. - 01/06/2022 It happened again today! I ordered ribeye steaks, somehow it was removed from my order and I was given short ribs and a sushi roll that I didn't order. Neither item is reflected on my order. Good luck trying to reach someone such as a supervisor or manager. They don't answer the phone. read more

I myself have been going here for years. I haven't had any problems. I don't do Curbside, so haven't experienced some of the problems that others have. Yes, they do run out of items, but try to stock it as fast as they come in. It's easier to get in and out of the parking lot. I have found items cheaper here than at Walmart. Seems like when I go to Walmart, everything goes up either 50cents to a dollar. I like the HEB Plus in Schertz, but it is always crowded. The new one in Cibolo is supposed to open next year. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are in Alamo Heights, and I don't feel like making the drive or to the Sprouts(the old Sun Harvest) up by US 281 and Gold Canyon. read more

We used to shop at this HEB when it first opened . It was A Okay but after the remodeling it became a much more upscale grocery store. It really needed the upgrade. We moved about 5 years ago but stopped here the other day and it is really impressive how it has transformed. The staff is always very knowledgeable and courteous. read more

But easy in and out of the parking lot which made it a convenient place to shop versus some other options nearby. H-E-B brand is literally the best quality in house brand I've ever purchased. I always love coming to HEB. This store is always full and more cramped than other HEBs. But they always have coupons in the shelves and are always stocked. They even had black eyed peas New Year's Eve when everyone else sold out. The checkout lines move fast and the employees are always helpful. Like most HEBs, this location is almost always fairly crowded and parking can be a bit of a bloodsport. But like all HEBs, the selection delivers. You'll find an olive bar, sushi, and an impressive deli spread: good sandwiches and a FIRE BIRD bar, with a nice seating area to enjoy your lunch on the tasty and cheap. Plus you can grab your grocery wares while you're there. The bakery, produce, and floral sections are also pretty great at this location. I'm finally going to write a review after the remodel. Great job Heb on a successful remodel. It looks awesome and roomy inside. I enjoy shopping here. Their are more choices. Think their employees need a lesson or 5 in customer service. It like everyone here hates their job. They have like 50 lanes open and about 1000 people at once. Yes this is a very very busy location. It is the only grocery store in a 8 mile radius. I don't count walmart as a grocery store. Parking can be crazy because of the abundance of people who visit this store daily. I try to shop early morning or late evening. Yes I'm one of those who comes an hour before closing and spend an hour shopping then head to the register. Sorry but it's the only time i can get groceries done with out having to fight for parking. It is quieter and less people on each aisle. I can't wait for the road to be done in front of heb. This isn't *quite* an Alon or Central Market quality HEButts, but it's pretty close - it's not one-stop-shopping, but I'm glad it's my neighborhood store. It's been recently remodeled/expanded - what was pretty great before had become even better with an improved layout and the addition of Flaming Bird grilled chicken and sides. The produce selection is pretty great - love the wide variety of organics, and fruit trays, and the addition of the fresh-squeezed lemonade and juice - but I prefer to stop at Straight From the Crate (for more localish selections) and/or Trader Joe's (less-expensive offerings) first, then pick up the slack of any holes in my list at HEB. The customer service desk is a pretty good option for concert/event tickets - save a bit on stupid Ticketmaster or other outlet fees. My biggest issue with this store. .. The beer. It was a crap selection before the expansion, and it's hardly improved at all since. We have so many great breweries in San Antonio, yet not a single one of them is represented on this store's shelves. I did see that Austin's Twisted X has showed up very recently, which is cool, but where's the love for the hometown local guys? ? The rest of their meager craft brew options are seriously, severely lacking as well. Bummer! read more

Whatever happened to customer service? Iremember when this supermarket chain had the best prices, the best choices, and most importantly the best customer service. Thirty years ago they had competition. Competition forced them to trim prices and ensure customer service was beyond reproach. Not anymore. At HEB, price gauging has run amok and customer service is but a thing of the past. I am a senior citizen and I miss the days when customer service was extremely important to many of these companies. I feel for today's younger generation of consumers that will never experience the niceties my generation became accustomed to... if another good supermarket opens operations near me I will give them my business regardless of pricing. I am tired of receiving touch and go customer service and I don't like being forced to wait is hellishly long lines with the only alternative being to be my own cashier and bagger. This H-E-B is okay. I only have a few major problems one of them being the employees that walk around with a cart asking you if you would like whatever they have in the cart. Usually if I would be fine with that, but they ask way to often and rather then suggesting it they shove it into your face. They also do it way too often, he was nagging me every five minutes while I was shopping in produce. Speaking of produce it isn't the best there. Their fruits and vegetables are usually dented opened and even rotten. My family and I love samples the only problem is the employees giving them out. My daughter asked if she could have one while I was maybe five feet behind her in plain sight, but the lady was terribly rude when asking where I was and made my daughter unhappy. Lastly the bagging situation. There is plenty of people to bag but when it was our turn to go to the register the bagging lady completely left and went to go talk to another employee . We had tons of items so it was very difficult since my children has to do it as I paid. Overall I know it sounds terrible but compared to other stores it okay. read more

I came into the store for a late night run of groceries and was pleased to find everything I was looking for in abundance. As I'm checking out, a grocery bagger named Sabrina is putting my purchases back in the cart and is tossing my groceries in. I glared at her and she looked continued to stare back at me with a RBF. The cashier, whom watched her tossed my groceries in the cart smiled then nodded at her to calm down. I didn't make a scene since the store was closing in a few minutes, but I've never had a bad experience with a bagger until now. I understand that as a bagger you might be frustrated that a customer is there until right before closing, but that doesn't constitute being rude and tossing groceries in the cart. Unfortunately, Sabrina looks to be very young and maybe she needs to be taught some manners. Would definitely confront her if I were to have a similar experience with her again.
