On the big turkey day. I was looking for some more stuff to bring over to my fams house. They were open until 2pm. I loved how they had a huge selection of beer and wine. I love their ales and wines. The bakery had a lot of sweets and cakes. I picked up a delicious coconut cake. The meat department had smoked salmon that was a crowd favorite. Check out at HT is always tricky. I've been to this location a couple times. There are just so many Harris Teeters these days. This location is just so large, but doesn't have the offerings as other locations. For example, they don't have the pizza station, the bar area or hot/cold food buffet. I actually thought they would, which Is why I came here. But also, we came here because the HT closer to use hasn't been stocking their shelves the last couple times we visited. It is extremely clean, fully stocked. Even while we were shopping, there were employees stocking the shelves. There's a Starbucks inside the store, which is interesting since there is a standalone Starbucks across the parking lot. I love this Harris Teeter and the employee's that make it so neighborhood friendly. Shout out to Mary for always being so kind and helpful at the self-service checkout! This location is always clean and constantly being restocked. I enjoy that they hire local teens during summers, holidays and you see a lot of your neighbors here. I always forgot something or another for recipes and find myself going weekly for an ingredient or for a full shopping load. I use to do the couponing before the pandemic and never had any issues with cashiers or self check out for the double deals and coupon weeks. As a family, we use to walk here for breakfast, but they have been a little understaffed in the bakery department lately and often are unable to make breakfast sandwiches - so we've had to default to Starbucks microwaved sandwiches. Overall, I am able to find fresh juices, discounts on food, the butcher is super easy to talk to and order your holiday meats from, the workers are amazing and make it worth coming here. It's a supermarket like any other. Although it's slightly more expensive than other grocery stores. There's nothing that really stands out for me. The only reason I visit this supermarket is because it's the only one in my area that's open 24/7. So, I basically come here for just a quick late night purchase. Staff is so-so. Sometimes I have received spectacular service and other times not so much. During the overnight shift, there's only one cashier. But there are absolutely no clients at these odd hours. Working on weekends sucks. If I choose to maintain social obligations, I end up being hungry in the middle of nowhere at odd hours. This makes me appreciate Harris Teeter because a 24-hour grocery store is a huge step up from gas station convenience stores. Plus there's less stress when you don't swear at the empty parking spaces closest in, which are reserved for hybrid vehicles. Don't push your luck with those, since cops pop into HT late at night sometimes. Fresh produce from proximity to so many local farms, with organic stuff at a slightly higher price point than generic. Vic club card a must. Sparse staff are still polite at midnight even if I had to wait to flag someone at the register. Markdown produce near plants, and more generic items tossed into labeled shopping carts just inside the entrance. I keep an eye on the sales papers since it only becomes worthwhile to shop there during normal hours when eggs or whatever are marked dirt cheap. Dinging them for optimistic meat expiration dates. read more

This Harris Teeter is not my favorite location. I have frequently found the produce to be in rough shape. After all, I am not personally fond of moldy tomatoes or bruised, brown bananas. Unfortunately, I cannot report more positive news about the store's meat department. I would advise that you check expiration dates carefully. On the other hand, outside of those specific weak departmental spots, the customer service is reliably friendly and efficient. The employees are helpful and while the store can be short staffed sometimes, the staff seems to do their best to help you when asked. In general, they just do not appear to mind working there. The place is also clean and organized. It is generally well-stocked with a variety of shelf staples and frozen goods alike. For that reason alone - okay, primarily because I live nearby - I am a regular at this location for quick grab items only. This Teeter is our regular supermarket; it's the best market in the South Riding area -- better than the Food Lion and the Giant. It's very clean, the samples are good, and most of the people are friendly and helpful. The regular prices are not great, but with the VIC card you can get some nice savings -- for example there is usually a BOGO deal on ice cream. Yes, the prices are a little higher than Bloom or Giant. However, they are open 24 hours and the produce is fresh, and they have lots of organic milk. They also carry the single-serving coffee cream, which is incredibly hard to find these days. I only stop by here to pick up organic milk and a few other essentials; my normal shopping is done at cheaper stores such as Lotte. read more

The past few experiences with express lane have not been great. I've tried to take into consideration COVID and I don't get upset when foods are out of stock. However, I had a pick up scheduled from 9-9:30 this morning and received a call about my order from a young man at 6:45AM! That's unreasonably early for a business to call. I show up during my scheduled time and I am the only car in the express lane. I state my name for the young man into the call box, then proceed to wait 10 mins. After waiting a young man comes out to ask me my name again. Then a few mins later a young lady comes out and asks my name...again. After another 5 mins the young lady gives me my food and apologizes twice for the wait. Her politeness redeemed the order to 3 stars. The prices are more expensive than any other local grocery chain, but I considered myself smart by shopping for the items on sale. Tonight I realized that they're randomly not applying sales discounts, so for some amount of time, I've been paying considerably more for my items than I expected. The store manager told me it was a computer error, but was unsympathetic, telling me there was an error message, but it appears on the cashier's side of the console, which they apparently ignore. So I work up the road from here and I go to the Harris Teeter in Leesburg by my home usually. I can go in and get avocado rolls made by the sushi chef for lunch or dinner and it's so nice and convenient. They always keep it well stocked with the different Bolthouse coffees too. I went to this Harris teeter in Chantilly on June 17th 2016 during my lunch break only to find it was awful by comparison. The sushi chef refused to make an avacado roll saying he wouldn't sell me one and the produce area right by it was disgusting and messy. Went in just after ACL reconstructive surgery. I had difficulty getting the carts to work. One young man helped me get the cart going, the lady at the deli counter was nice enough to bring the deli meat around the counter and "Timmy" was very proactive in helping me get my bag into my ride. I was a bit of a burden today and everyone was very helpful in helping me get my groceries safely. I also go to this location regularly and the customer service is great. I'm grateful for the service they've provided not only today but on a regular basis. The express lane is also very Convenient for anyone who has trouble getting around the store. I went in here today to buy BLT ingredients. The vine-ripe tomatoes were rotting in sopping pools of decaying matter. The hothouse tomatoes were unripened rocks. I finally found 5 organic tomatoes that I could buy. When I checked out, the cashier grabbed my two loaves of soft bread out of the cart- one in each fist. I said, "You're squishing my bread". Although I prefer the Teeter on Ridge Knoll Dr in Fairfax, this location was along my route at the time. It didn't disappoint, either. And it could have... I was just stopping in to pick up one of their delicious subs from the deli shop. The gentleman behind the counter quickly asked if he could help me. I told him what I wanted - a 6in steak & cheese. Well... no dice! They had just run out & he informed me so. He said that they had more, but it was frozen & would take a while. Did I want to wait or choose something else? In a time crunch, I chose the latter. He suggested the breaded chicken, saying it was good, so I went with it - but spicy.
