I ate at Chan. Got yukejang. Was NOT good. I usually go to Hmart in Plano and eat in the food court there. Get the yukejang there. So I'll compare food service etc. food yukejang in Plano was so much better. Chan's i just straight did not eat. The smell was just off. Smelled like tomatoes. The tables in Carrollton were sticky. For the food court I went to Chan and the katsu sando. Chan: kalbi ribs comes with rice a small bowl of soup some banchan (kimchi and radish kimchi) lettuce and wrap sauce. The many times I have ordered here it's always been consistent and good. Katsu sando place: ordered the katsu sando and the egg sando. Not comes with a fruit sando which has strawberry and whipped cream. The katsu sando was good and tasty even though for the price it's definitely not worth it. Such a great place to stop by and buy groceries, eat at so many yummy food stands and see things that reminds me of my visits to Asia. We went to Chan and the food there was yummy and fresh, we got the bulgogi and bibimbap, then we got the Fruit Sando at Okatsu katsu and sando bar, and had the tonkotsu ramen at Ramen Bar. It was a fun and great experience!! Too bad it's a bit of a drive for me, but my family had fun. The food court located within H Mart has tons of delicious variety. The soup dumplings at Mr. Dumpling are paired with a sweet or spicy dumpling sauce. The plastic wear makes it a bit hard to dine in, but they have takeout options and even sell frozen dumplings to make at home. The bubble tea from the tea and gelato mart is super sweet! I recommend the honeydew milk tea with boba. We also have tried the chicken katsu. The katsu shop is good- the chicken is perfectly crispy. But this one's pricier. I've been to the H-Mart in GA so while I was in town, I wanted to check out the one in Dallas/Carrollton. It's in the heart of Korean town and the parking was crowded on a Saturday morning. Upon entering the store, they offer you gloves to explore the store. The store layout was very tight, I felt almost claustrophobic. They have a lot of variety when it comes to fruits and at a great price that you couldn't find at other oriental stores nearby. They also have a lot of cooked foods and side dishes for sale. Their food was okay. We got the spam with rice, it had a lot of sesame oil. The aisles were also very tight and you almost had to turn to go through around people. They had a lot of options but it's definitely smaller than the one in GA. I prefer that one instead. read more

My family has been going to H-Mart's cafeteria for lunches (if we don't fill up on their samples first lol) ever since I can remember . Having grown up with Korean food, I find so much nostalgia in Tofu Stew houses and restaurants, and H-Mart is one of those places that stays true to flavors and pricing, despite its modern aesthetic and beautiful plating. Just look at those colors! The meal, of course, was fantastic, and hit the spot. Each meal came with a free drink (it's a secret!), rice, and 반찬 (side dishes). I ordered the Beef Tofu Stew (in my experience, it comes with more meat than the seafood pot), and had a delightful time. Some things to expect: During the weekends, it can be very busy at peak lunch hours, so tables are sparse, lines may be long, and it can be crowded. Furthermore, it is a cafeteria, so people aren't always the kindest or the cleanest, so as a guest and a patron, don't be too hard on the workers there, pre-bus, return trays, and leave the area someplace you'd like to sit too. There are a lot of restaurants. It was impossible to find the best one. I found Chene or Chane?? Anyway, I just want to save money in an Asian town. I ordered Yukgaejang which was a beef soup bowl. It was so spicy that I had to wait for a couple of minutes till it became lower temperature. It was served with kimchi and rich. Both of them were so good. Love stopping here! It is a huge Korean Market that seems to offer everything. Has a huge parking lot easy to enter from Old Denton. They have shops inside that sell merchandise. The produce area is huge and they have very reasonable prices and items you don't fine in a normal grocery. There are even a few restaurants. The meat selection ok n is large also and everything we've bought in it has been delicous. The fresh fish area has so much to choose from and they've added a Hawaiian poke area. The frozen food section is large also and everything we've bought in that section has been top knotch. My only complaint would be it smells fishy in the back of the store. I will say.. the food court inside Carrollton's Hmart is one of the best I've seen in the Hmart chains. It has a variety of options, including Tore Ore (Korean Fried Chicken), Jo Pok Tobokki (Korean snack chain), Mr Dumplings (Chinese Dumplings), Korean cuisine, sushi, Katsu and more! I've only tried food at Tore Ore, Mr Dumpling and the katsu store, but all three have been better than any Korean food I've tried at an Hmart food court. It looks like they recently added Jo Pok Toppoki, which is a huge ddukbokee chain in South Korea. More importantly, the prices here are VERY affordable. I would have never thought to enjoy food at an Hmart food court but the Carrollton Hmart food court really goes above and beyond in what they do. I will be back! read more

If you've been Court with your pants down, don't worry, it happens to us all the time. In fact they film us with our pants down and pay us for it. And where do we spend the profits? Here of course, eating dumplings to keep our fake butts looking extra fake. This H-Mart has a pretty spectacular food court. It has a cool design with little gated entrances and there is only about 7 places to eat in here, but one of them happens to be literally the best dumpling shop in all of Texas. And since these are some of the best dumplings I've ever had, this food court scores 5 just because of the amazing dumplings. I have yet to try all the other spots in here but there's a bakery too. Watch out for parking - it's a nightmare. read more

H-Mart Food Court used to be one of our regular eating destinations for authentic comfort food prior to the pandemic. Sadly most of those resteraunts didn't make it. We ventured out yesterday and probably won't be back again. Chan - We order the kimchi pork fried rice with the soft egg on top. The egg was overcooked and there was no pork and it tasted more like tomato rice (very close to soup) with a little bit of cabbage in it. Maybe it was a bad day for them however we did not go during peak hours. JS Sushi & Teriyaki - We also got the 42 Tempura Bento . The Miso soup, sushi and rice had a really weird taste to it. The closest that I can describe is there was too much chlorine added into the water when preparing the food, the weird taste was in everything. Mr. Dumplings - same lovely owner with the same great service and as always pan fried dumplings are spot on and perfect. Overall, the price of food has gone up like everything else but some of the prices of meals here are a little ridiculous for being 'food court'. I will say the dining updates do look great but I miss the 'hole in the wall, you're eating in a grocery store' vibe but I know I'm in the minority when it comes to this. read more

I dream that I'm a highly skilled Asian chef and often buy fun exotic ingredients and then get home and wonder "What was I thinking??" LOL You watch the Chefs whip up delicious dishes in seconds and it takes me hours just to open a package of 1000 year old eggs....Ha, I'm a big dreamer....and have failed at trying to cook items I cant say let alone cook! Food was delicious. Atmosphere was not but then again we knew it would be a food court setting. We came to shop for international produce and brought my whole family including my Japanese grandmother but stopped here first because we were all hungry. My Japanese grandma was impressed with the dumplings and the takoyaki! We also ordered some rolls and a seaweed salad. It's expensive but the portions are very large. There are about 5-6 places to choose from, one of which I believe is under construction which excites me because that might mean a new spot is coming in but after trying them all, I have one word for you. TORE ORE. Okay I guess that's two words but it's one ridiculously good Korean fried chicken place. It's to the far left of the food court and I don't step foot in H mart without eating there. I've left a review on their page so I'll try to keep my love contained here. But try it, just once, you won't regret it. Half spicy, half garlic. Do it. China factory is my second favorite place.
