Once again Alex was outstanding! Last year Alex arrived to my mom's rescue when her water main broke near the foundation (March 2019) Alex was the only plumber I contacted who could help my 85 year old mom. He arrived and immediately went to work and fixed and repaired the broken main. Well here it is April 2020 and mom had another problem - no hot water. I contacted Alex and he said he could be out the next day to see what needs to be done. Alex called to let me know when he was on the way and immediately figured out the problem. Just wow. This was our second time using HTEP to fix our aging AC units. Just like the first time we called, HTEP was easy to communicate with, they were prompt and on time, their pricing was fair, and were perfectly professional. What put this trip over the top was the dogged troubleshooting by Dmitry when all of the obvious issues were addressed but the problem still existed. He didn't give up and eventually found a non-intuitive solution. We had a total disaster strike in Houston with the power outages and burst pipes from the polar vortex freeze. So many pipes burst in Houston the governor is allowing plumbers from other states to come to Texas and work. Every plumber has their phone ringing off the hook. This plumber answered my Yelp inquiry about my burst pipe at midnight!!! I had already set up something for roughly the same time with a company I had used before, so I ultimately decided not to cancel that. I felt obligated to give a 5 star review after my experience with Alex. A previous "plumber" I hired two weeks ago to replace my attic water heater basically robbed me -- overcharged me to replace the water heater, claimed he couldn't fully drain the old heater and remove it, and left a half-full 50 gallon tank sitting in my attic. I called H-Town Emergency plumbers for a quote on draining and removing the water heater. Thank you Alex for showing me what a truly competent plumber doing high-quality work is capable of. Not only was he able to quickly drain the old unit, he helped me inspect and fix all the installation errors the previous "plumber" made. He was also able to do this by himself in under an hour, and was very professional and respectful of my home, wearing a mask at my request and covers over his shoes. Although Alex was unable to fix my plumbing issues he was really nice and tried to explain the problem he suspects is causing the stoppage at my house and didn't charge me for attempting to fix the problem. He left feeling pretty bad that he was unable to resolve the plumbing issue but did recommend several other companies he thought might be able to fix the issue. Alex---was fantastic! He came last Thursday to help me figure out the smell that was going on in my bathroom. He noticed that there was a huge hair clog in the shower and removed it. He tried to help with my jack and Jill sink drains but because it was a quick call--he didn't have enough time for it--so he came back the following Monday at 8am sharp (because I was out of town for work that weekend). He cleaned out my drain pipes and explained everything to me. He walked me through the process and made sure I understood what he was going to do before proceeding. On Friday he did charge me for his work and I still owed him $24----for when he comes back on Monday. Instead of asking me to pay the $24 he'd just asked for a quick review on yelp (mind you I was going to write one anyways). The best thing is, he noticed some boxes in my foyer and asked me multiple times if I needed help to carry it up!!! Not only this, he wore protectors to keep my carpet clean---he went above and beyond what he needed to do as a plumber and he genuinely cares about the quality of his work--which is so rare to find these days. We were beyond happy with our service from H-Town plumbers. They responded almost immediately when we messaged them after hours to schedule a visit for the next day. And when our technician Alex arrived the next morning, he was on time and very polite and professional. He helped fix our clogged kitchen drainage system, and he did a thorough evaluation of our entire drainage line from our 2nd Floor island kitchen down to the drain catch in our first floor garage. The job ended up being much harder than expected because of tricky access, but Alex did an excellent job. He measured very carefully to minimize the amount of sheetrock he had to cut through. Alex from H-Town Emergency Plumbers is absolutely the best. He is a dedicated craftsman and a plumbing professional of the first order. The quality of his work, and his approach to fixing plumbing problems is top-notch. We had what we thought were two burst pipes from the cold snap last week. After three days with no water in the house, through some stroke of incredibly good luck, Alex called and said he was nearby and could stop by to fix our pipes. Well, once we turned the water to the house back on, we found out that there were more than a dozen burst sections of pipe in this tiny crawl space above our kitchen and laundry room ceilings. I'm guessing Alex was expecting a 30-minute repair of a couple pipes, but he ended up having to replace more than 40 feet of damaged copper pipe (with multiple T's) with PEX - all while working in incredibly cramped conditions. After more than four hours of unbelievably tedious work, we turned the water back on and everything was fine. But there were two elbows of the remaining old copper pipe that were starting to corrode, and Alex was concerned that although they hadn't failed yet, they were well on their way. So despite it already being 8:00 at night, and his phone having rung about 50 times as potential customers kept trying to contact him, and him having promised his neighbor that he would stop by and fix a leak at his neighbor's house that night, Alex climbed back into one of the holes we had to punch in our sheetrock, wedged himself into the tiny crawl space again, and pro-actively repaired the other two pieces of pipe. You wouldn't believe how bad these last two sections of pipe looked. Anyway, he was completely exhausted when he was finished, covered in sheetrock dust and insulation fibers, but still maintained his pleasant demeanor and terrific attitude. As you can probably tell, I can't say enough good things about Alex, and I can't recommend him highly enough. He's really, really great. read more
