My brother and I came here on a late Sunday afternoon and were promptly seated outdoors. We ordered summer rolls, the beef pho (~$14), and a banh mi. The summer rolls were a bit on the small size and okay. The beef pho included beef balls which is always a nice surprise but overall was also just okay, didn't blow me away nor was it the worst bowl - just okay. As was the banh mi. Overall it does the job if you are craving Vietnamese although I think there are better options and I'm unsure I would return. read more

Horrible! I have literally in my entire life never had a banh mi as bad as the one here. Everything was off about it. I ordered the tofu banh mi ($7) and mentioned extra spicy. The tofu was bland. The bread quality was way too soft. The "sauce" was a mixture of mayo and sriracha. The cashier pressured me to pay cash even though there was no sign saying cash under $10. I don't mind paying cash, but set boundaries and do not pressure people to pay cash especially if it was not specified on the menu. There was a sign that said cash was "highly preferred", but not mandatory. Also, there was an assumption that I would tip for a to go order. I have worked in retail and food for a decent amount of years. You are not supposed to assume people would tip and do not indirectly assume and pressure people. It's just really bad because people on the East Coast immediately try this and think this is good Vietnamese food when this is far from it. Solid lunch place in the neighborhood, but a little on the pricer side, especially compared to another Vietnamese restaurant a block away. They provide indoor and outdoor seating for customers. I came around lunch time and saw their section of lunch special deals which are available Monday - Friday, 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Lunch specials ranged from $7 - $10 and are all served with salad and white rice. I opted for the Pho Combination Special for $10.50. The bowl was nothing special, smaller portion than most Vietnamese places I've been to. They had less of everything - noodles, tripe, tendon, etc. There were only like 2 pieces of tendon and tripe in the entire bowl. Flavor wise, it was just alright. Food's alright, but definitely pricey. I would only return to try their lunch specials, everything else just isn't worth it for me. read more

We find it to be a nice dining experience. Nothing special but the food is always fresh and fast. We love the dumplings, calamari, avocado and the papaya salads and chicken skewers are all great starters. We tend to stick to the fried rice dishes and would highly recommend the basil. Currently job interviewing in New York staying with my buddy who lives in Brooklyn. It was a rainy day so I thought pho would be the perfect choice. Stumbled upon this quaint place on Yelp. I loved the ambience when I got to the spot. Kind of trendy, hipster, but a very New York feel with the Sinatra-style jazz and exposed brick walls on every side. Took away a bit from the authenticity that it could have preserved, but they opted for a trendier vibe. The food: I ordered the pho with everything as I usually do (rare steak, tripe, tendon, flank). What I loved was that the soup was PIPING hot! My tongue is still burning a half hour after eating as I'm writing this review. Broth was a little oily, but I'd say overall the taste was there. The meat was also fresh, which made for an overall enjoyable pho-eating experience. The place needed more than sriracha, though, to meet the normal standard when dining at Vietnamese restaurants. I've had bad pho before, which is a terrible experience, so when I can have decent pho, I'm usually a happy camper. Not stellar, but quite good. read more

Right on 9th street and 7th Avenue in Park Slope. Look closely, it's under scaffolding now. The papaya salad was recommended by a friend and it was delish and very fresh. I'm getting the hang of chopsticks (after 10 years of trying) so I was brave and tried them out on the salad. The papaya is sliced thin and easy to pick up. I had the chicken vermicelli which is a bowl of room temp noodles with grilled chicken, shredded carrots, cucumber, and lettuce. The scallion oil/nuoc cham sauce is light and compliments the noodles with an tangy ginger aftertaste. My friend had the chicken sate and ooof it was spicy! Good flavor, but very spicy! Food was pretty mid; price was on the high side, I could understand one or the other but not both. Pho- not much in flavor for broth, and very no frills in their combo pho. Bun/vermicelli- noodles were kind of hard, fish sauce wasn't very flavorful, probably the most mediocre version of this dish I've tried yet. Vietnamese coffee was pretty okay. Pork Spring roll was okay too but kind of small. Overall price came out to $60. read more

A welcoming neighborhood restaurant with a kind and attentive server. In fact, all three servers appeared to be that way. My grandson and I enjoyed vegetable dumplings, a pho with sauteed, spicy thin slices of pork and pho with a creamy chicken curry broth. Food is decent, but the delivery operation is a complete mess. We called in an order on Friday night, we're told it would be 45-55 minutes. An hour later, I called in and was told the driver was on his way to pick up the order. 10-15 minutes max. Half an hour goes by and I call gain, they tell me the driver is 2 mins away. Finally we get our food over 2hrs past our order time. I don't mind if the food takes a long time, but you gotta be straight with me and give realistic expectations. Simply off their Classic Banh Mi: - where's the pate at?? - ground beef was flavorful, could use some more pickling on the carrots and cucumber - i could get this baguette at any normal deli. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese sandwiches, there's a good number around 8th avenue not too far away. After my horrible experience at Naruto Ramen on 5th avenue. I went here, I was truly determined for Ramen. Instead, I got the Pho with grilled chicken, and two spring rolls. I stopped in here on Monday, 13 November shortly before 2 pm for a quick lunch after a doctor's appointment in the immediate area. Given that it's Park Slope, I was not surprised to find it to be very stylish and trendy, with sleek furniture, cultural artifacts (or approximations thereof) and the like adorning the walls, and of course stylish lighting. Modern music was playing at a moderate volume while I was there. I chose the "Chicken with Special Sate Sauce" lunch and liked it well enough. The menu indicated it was spicy but I found it to be only mildly spicy, but given the neighborhood and who was dining in there at the time (mostly white people like me), I'm supposing they had to dial it down, lest it be too much for people who don't come from a background of eating pickled jalapenos with their barbecue, like me. I liked the meal just fine, finding it to be fairly heavy on the ginger, which I like. The sauce was quite viscous and the rice was great with it. The salad was nothing special, just greens with sliced carrots and onions on top. But it's a lunch special in Park Slope so one should not complain too much. The price? A whopping seven bucks! $7 USD. In summation, the lunch special I got here was pretty good, quality wise, and for the value, especially considering its locale of Park Slope right next to a subway station, it's a great deal. read more

It's a nice small restaurant that looks like it's hidden away in the corner of the street, has indoor and outdoor seating with fences surrounding the outdoor seating, the two person tables are a bit on the small side but nothing to complain about. Atmosphere is nice with a brown wooden floors with a small bar in the back. The restaurant is very vertical and goes 30 feet into the back with two person tables on the side and near the entrance while the 4 person tables are closer to the middle and kitchen in the back. In regards to food, there is a good selection and I order the skewer chicken and pho with grilled pork and they were both good, grilled pork for the pho was served in a side plate to allows customers to add at their own pace/preference into the pho. The only cons were the sauce is a little different from the typical fish sauce that comes. It's not as flavorful? I was in the mood for Pho yesterday so I thought I could give Ha Noi a try. I really wanted to like this place since I live so close, but sadly that didn't happen. I ordered Pho with fish balls. It tasted okay, not bad, but not great, either. The service wasn't something to write home about. Ha Noi kept me alive through quarantine, I'm serious. I don't use speed dial (is that even a thing anymore?) but if I did they'd be on it. It's always delicious and fresh, I never get sick of it (or from it), their delivery is awesome and fast, their outdoor dining is dedicated to cleanliness and it's comfy, and the 1 time I got to eat inside there before the pandemic was also way good. Staff is always super nice but not overbearing. I've just never been disappointed in this restaurant. If you are feeling like you want a good size meal without feeling heavy after, this is it. Food: Overpriced, Americanized, Cheap w/ their ingredients, very BASIC! -Combination Pho (this is your traditional #1 - big bowl! Should come with an abundance of thinly sliced brisket, tendons, beef balls, cilantro, onions - with add on's of sprouts & basil). - $10.50 - This pathetic bowl came with: 4 paper thin slice brisket, 1 beef ball sliced in half, 2 tiny pieces of tendons, and slivers of sliced onions. Really?? For $10.50? C'mon... -Pho with Grilled Pork Chop: Pho noodle w/ onions, cilantro and pork chop... - we laughed when the waiter brought out 1 small size grilled pork chop, talk about penny pinching! - $10.50 -Grilled Pork Chop dinner over rice - 3 pieces of pork chops (we were holding our breath... LOL) w/ small bowl of rice. - $12.50 - this was the ONLY decent dish... the pork chops were seasoned well w/ sweet soy. -small order of Viet pork spring roll (didn't like the filling, not enough seasoning...) The overall taste of the most important part of having "PHO"... the broth... left MUCH to be desired. Too oily = cheap with their beef bones to make the broth and added fatty meat pieces, hence why the broth tasted something like "greasy left over". We were left disappointed, a nasty aftertaste, and $60 poorer for less than stellar food. I would not return nor would CON my friends into eating here. Their beef stew soup noodle dish was crazy tasty! The broth was thick/beefy/rich robust with favours. Carrot was soft, and the raw onions added a crisp texture to the rich broth. A min away from the train/sub, crazy not to try this dish if you like Vietnamese food - even if you don't live around the area. read more
