Chicken Nachos
Taylour P.

The space is beautiful to sit in, especially on a sunny day. Very vibrant and energetic space but the food just wasn't good. The grilled chicken was great but the nacho cheddar cheese tasted like cheap highly processed cheese.... did not taste like typical queso. I actually like cotija cheese but it wasn't a good mix. Service was fast I got my food in under 5 minutes.

Came here for the first time to try out some tacos. The food was okay the tostones were good the freshly made guacamole was very good. The eggplant taco was underwhelming the chicken tacos were good. The steak taco okay and the corn okay. For fast food it was good. To just go outside and get a quick bite good. The ambiance of the place very eccentric layed back feel. The outside seating to me is the best to relax outside talk and get some sun is great. The service was good nothing to brag about you get a number and they bring the food so can't really judge. Good for a quick bite if you feel for tacos to relax and eat.

Cuban Sandwich

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant as we were wandering the streets of Brooklyn on a sunny Saturday. Lured by its vibrant signs and outdoor patio, we came in for what was supposed to be a quick look but stayed instead for lunch. And I'm so glad we did. Habana Outpost had the best Cuban sandwich I've ever had. Now, It's important to note that I don't often order Cuban sandwiches, after having tried it a few times and finding it to be dry. Habana's wasn't dry at all. The pulled pork was dripping with jus. The cheeses were melty and held all the elements together. The bread was perfectly panini-pressed and crisp. This excellent sandwich was paired with an equally excellent side of battered crispy fries. Writing this review has my mouth watering and has changed my once-lowly opinion of Cuban sandwiches. I cannot wait to return here in the height of summer when the sun is high, the breeze warm, and the margaritas ice cold.

I hadn't been to Habana Outpost in years but the margaritas are just how I remembered them...delicious. I went back on one of the first warm days and it felt so good to sit outside and enjoy the yard. Can't wait to go back and have their world famous corn.

Great food , drinks and vibes!! Brianna is amazing very welcoming and gives good recommendations!! Will definitely come back

I've been here a couple of times and enjoyed myself. One of my close friends hosted a dinner here to celebrate her moving to another city recently. I arrived at 6 pm; during happy hour. The line was relatively short at the time so I was able to order a pina colada (mango) with shrimp tacos, chips and guacamole, and fried corn on a cob. My order came out in a timely manner. Ideally, if you're with a group of people, a pitcher makes sense to get. However, sometimes that option is not available because the machine is down apparently during peak hours. Definitely a great place to come to for food and drinks but be mindful of when you visit. Next time I'll be sure to come on a Wednesday around 4 PM.

Pretty good tacos, especially loved the fish tacos here. Check out their weekday specials. Service and food prep can take a little longer during peak times and seating isn't always abundant.

I ordered the nachos. Came with about 11 chips total. They were okay but not nearly enough chips, they told me I need to purchase more. The drink was half off on happy hour for $6 and tastes like battery acid. Nice outside vibes tho

I've been going to Havana since the early 2000's and the food and atmosphere have stayed consistently the entire time. I had tacos on a day warm enough to sit outside and bask in the sun. And the frozen margaritas were top tier

Habana Outpost is the perfect summer escape for frozen drinks and great times! My office held a going away party for our office manager and the vibes were high! The outdoor seating in the courtyard makes you feel like you are in the middle of the action in Brooklyn but still feels secure and fun. The bright colors and great drinks (happy hour til 7pm is amazing!) make this spot a must try for any summer fun!

Tostones and guacamole, steak taco and shrimp taco
Nicole B.

What a stellar happy hour deal and taco Tuesday deal! It is a fast casual taco spot so you have to order at the counter and then they bring you your food outside but the service is very quick. I ordered a frozen margarita, shrimp, taco, steak, taco, Tostones, and guacamole, and it was less than $30. I will say the serving size for guacamole was very large compared to most restaurants so I that's a win. The drinks are strong and the food is delicious so I will definitely be back.

Corn

Such a cute place with lots of personality. It's nice and bright with Caribbean music playing in the background. There's seating inside and outside. You order at the counter, they give you a number, and bring out your food. Justin suggested the corn and the plantain and guacamole bowl. Great suggestions. The plantain is super sweet and fresh. Yum, yum, yum to the guacamole. I also added grilled chicken to the bowl. It was seasoned and juicy. I would definitely check them out if in the area again.

This place is a vibe!

Loved the atmosphere and cool place to hang out! Great day to sit outside and have a drink.

Nice if your looking for Mexican food not so much for Cuban. Disappointed by the name and false advertising of "Mexican-Cuban" cuisine.

Happy to see the restaurant offering specials so I ordered Cuban sandwiches, Bacalao(fried cod fish), Cuban ham croquettes, Yuca fries(came with red onions) and regular French fries. The Cubans' roast pork was well-seasoned and accompanied with plantain chips, all items brought a delicious sauce, and fresh garlic, nice touch. The Cubans were 4/5, the Bacalao were 5/5, as were the Yuca and regular fries. I personally prefer different bread, with more pickles and ham, but definitely recommend this place and will plan a visit to dine-in, to try their fresh juices and other menu items. I ordered delivery so could not report on service, beyond everything was well-packaged with care.

The flavors are a little off for me, but still a good version. The ropa vieja also lacked a little something, but they use tri-tip instead of the usual flank steak, which felt more tender. The owner Benny was also kind enough to give us some free desserts to take home, which were pretty good. With that said, what intrigued me the most was the interesting story about how Benny fell into this restaurant situation after swearing he would never be in this industry again. He is a strong believer in supporting the community, and has a nonprofit called Hungry Monk Rescue Truck that deals with food insecurity in NYC. We need more people like him in this world. Let's show our support for a business we can be proud to dine at.

Ordered from here on a whim and I'm beyond happy I did!…read more What a flavor bomb every bite was. Wow. Ordered the rotisserie chicken with garlic sauce and got it with yellow rice and tostones. (9 out of 10) Also tried the empanada sampler which came with four empanadas of my choosing and tried the Beef, shrimp, chicken, and birria. (8 out of 10) I mean this sincerely... everything was beyond flavorful. The rotisserie garlic chicken had to be my favorite bite of the night but each empanada included in the sampler was crispy, tender, and decadent; each one leaving its own individual mark. Seriously blown away and might even had to stop in to try the food at the restaurant next time. Can't wait to see order from here again!

Food: This place is quite bad. We ordered the tortilla soup and the vegan tofu chimichurri. The tortilla soup was inedible it was so salty. The tofu was grilled and entirely burnt on the bottom. I had to slice the entire bottom off. The chimichurri sauce was flavorful. The yellow rice side seemed like bagged instant rice. The maduros were good. Did not try the alcohol but they had a large selection including non alcoholic options. The place adds a 20% auto gratuity fee. Kind of absurd on a 2 person check. I am Latina so perhaps I have a higher expectation for Latin food but I'm perplexed at how this place could have such high ratings, perhaps it was just a bad night. I would never go back and would not recommend.

Was excited to try and a new to me spot. My friend and I were in the area doing some shopping we…read moreboth were a bit hungry so we came in. The amount of times I have walked by here and never came in is actually pretty funny. It is a small mexican food restaurant but they had a table for us two in the back near the bathrooms. They had two tables crammed next to each other in the back. Our first table we were seated at was like literally on top of the people sitting in the booth next to us. We then asked to move to the other table they said it was fine but we kinda got a look from the waitress like are you guys serious like it was a hassle to move us or something. Not to mention that these tables are not made for two people to comfortable sit and enjoy a meal at together. They are very small! When our waitress came to take our order I went first and told her all my allergies and than she just walked away after and didn't come back and didn't take my friends order or let me finish my order. It was the most oddest thing. So another waitress came to take our order and I told her that I gave some of my order to the other person and told her all my allergies and this waitress currently said how the other one did not tell her about all my allergies but did warn me that because the kitchen is soo small there may be cross contamination. My friend and I ordered drinks both margarita's on the rocks. They came out not that cold and pretty tasteless. For food I got their world famous corn with cheese. My friend got the corn to but with the spicy powder on top of it. We decided the corn was the best thing. We also both ordered the salad but I got it with chicken and my friend got it with shrimp. We both did not really enjoy our salads but she ate hers I just had a few bites and then packed up the rest to go even though I ended up just throwing it away later in day. I will not be coming back even if I am with a friend who wants to. Many other mexican restaurants in this city where the staff is friendly and food and drinks are much better than what we had experienced here.

A visually-appealing woody interior with posters lines the wall. Vaguely Cuban accents with a very pleasant crowd. Everyone knows each other here, the staff and patrons, and it's very much a neighborhood feel when I went on a Friday evening. Drinks were strong yet delicious. Me and my significant other got the churrasco (flank steak) and the nachos. The nachos had a ton of substance. Lots of ground meat, a dollop of guac, and sour cream. Cheaper yet still very satisfying. I asked what the server usually gets. She said the flank steak is her favorite so I ordered one of those medium rare. It came out perfectly cooked with a chimichurri sauce and served with rice and beans. Super packed with flavor and yummy. My girlfriend is not a fan of "slabs of meat" but really couldn't give enough of this meal. Overall, successful meal. I found great value in this visit

We were warmly greeted by one of the servers before being seated at a table near the window. The standout dishes we enjoyed were the Ropa Vieja, Salmon, and the Calamares Ricardo. The Red Sangria was also solid. While the guacamole in the guac and chips was good, I think they used store bought Tostitos for the chips:( Our group wasn't that fond of the Tres Leche either, as it was a bit grainy and covered in chocolate sauce. While service started off strong in the beginning, it declined throughout our meal. Came to learn that an automatic tip was added, which may explain why.
