I use to come here a lot when they first opened. It has been years since, I have come here and I came on Friday night. Their frozen margarita with sangria was my favorite drink. So I ordered the same thing and it was ok. I am not sure if my tastebuds have changed or if the recipe changed. It was not how I remembered it and I would probably not come back. The Cuban sandwich is definitely one of the best in the city, along with the street corn. The quesadilla was pretty standard. I would definitely return and we love the outdoor area so much. One thing the restaurant could improve on big-time... not having the host/person taking orders have both AirPods in... they were clearly listening to music loud to the point they were whispering because they couldn't hear themselves. Went on a hot day hoping to get inside seating but there's only a few tables and countertop, not that it mattered though, the inside was hot as well. Ordered a cuban and fries, guacamole and plantain bowl, 2 ears of corn, and a sangria tower. We ended up sitting outside, but oly about half of the spots were shaded and almost all were taken. We did get a spot in the shade and there was a DJ outside playing everything but latin music. The main courses were excellent, but the corn did not have much flavor, despite looking beautiful covered in cheese and spices. The sangria was a disgrace though. $60 for a tower of sangria and what came out was a tower of red wine. No ice, no fruit, just plain red chilled wine. As always, Habana outpost is the spot to hit for the summer season. That corn is absolutely delish . They have fish tacos but I no longer like catfish so I can't tell you what it takes like. It's been years since I had it. My chicken taco was good. Lemonade was good too. I wish they had a virgin pina colada. I don't drink but I really wanted something frozen. Bring cash because they don't accept cards. They do have an atm but blah to feed. The music is always giving dance party. There is some seating inside but most is outside. It's a great spot. This is a fantastic Cuban spot in Brooklyn! Looking at the building's exterior, there is so much character. That fun vibe carries on as soon as you walk in the doors, where you are greeted by an epic mural painted over brick. There are lots of fun paintings, and great music which gets you excited for your meal! I had a Cubano and sweet plantains, which were exceptionally good. I love their frozen drinks, too! The margaritas were so good on the hot day when we went. The outdoor space is such a nice vibe, it feels so nice to hang out and enjoy during the summer. Average! Habana is that great summer place with outdoor seating, decent drinks, and music. However, it's overcrowded and in my opinion, the food isn't that great. Here's the process: You can look on the large menu on the wall and decide what you want to drink and/or eat. If you're a regular, that's not necessary. I would suggest while you're ordering you send one of the members of your group outside to look for seats because it's relatively difficult to find one here. It's like people will just sit and stay for hours, sorta like Starbucks. After you order your items (cash only) you'll head outside and wait for your number to be called. If you were fortunate enough to find a seat right away, then just watch the board until your hunger shows. After that, it's all up to you. On the weekends, they have a DJ. Unfortunately, on my last visit, that was the only seat available, directly in front of the DJ-- I could barely hear myself think. I always go with the Cheese Quesadilla, it's ok, but that's it, it's just okay. The same can be said for the rice and beans. My friend continuously tells me how delicious the corn is, but while every time I say I'm going to try it out, I always wind up sticking to my Quesadilla. The drinks are also just okay. Habana is BACK. It's been too long but we are happy that they are here. So of course I had to come by with my best friend. We came on Friday night. I'm sad that they are still cash only. Like I say to all places that only accept cash .. it's 2022 do better. There's so many ways to accept other forms of payment. And please don't try to tell me about the ATMs because I don't want to pay the $2 fee either. Beyond that, the lines go by pretty fast and they've upped the ante with the margaritas. I don't remember them giving you as many options in prior years but now you can do the spicy rim, add flavor and add an extra shot or two. I got the chicken quesadilla because your girl was hungry. They do not allow you to change anything on the food (I.e. no jalapeños) but you can request the ingredients on the side instead. The wait for the food took long. I was waiting probably 30+ minutes for the food and people who came after me were getting their food before me. I went to talk to the man behind the counter because I thought I might have been skipped or something. He was sarcastic about it but wasn't rude at all and made a joke of the situation to me. Luckily I can be sarcastic too so it was equal playing field. The rest of the staff was super nice and working hard. The place was clean. Don't expect them to be playing that new Drake or Beyoncé but the music suffices for the aesthetic. Music is all spanish and you can dance in the middle which is kinda cool! Service: the guy (i believe is the manager) is nice, talks to all who eats there. The girl cashier is lost. Lol Food: I only ate 2 things here. CUBAN SANDWICH: it is good but I ate somewhere better. It's okay for me. It was the week leading up to the 4th so people I assume a lot of people had off. The place was full but not overflowing and the crowding moved so you could still find a seat. We ordered immediately. We both had shrimp tacos and corn. I had a frozen mojito. The mojito totally got to me because I gulped it down before the tacos came. Everything was way delicious. I couldn't make my way through 1 much less two because the cor is also filling. Ambience and vibes are def on ten. Quality and freshness if the food, def 10. Crowd can be a bit loud so it's possible you're eithe screaming with them or just not hearing your company. Def not ideal for a 1st date but I'd say stop by on the 4th. Came here on a Saturday at 12pm for lunch with some friends when this place just started to get crowded. What I love about here is their cute outdoor patio area. It's decorated very colorfully and there are plenty of seats! We first ordered inside the restaurant and got a table outside. Once you order, they give you a receipt with your order number and there are screens that show the order numbers when they are ready. I got their cuban sandwich and my friends got fish tacos, grilled corn, and chicken quesadilla. I must say I had THE BEST cuban sandwich ever in my life! The meat in the sandwich was sooo juicy to the point my hands got very messy while working on it. The panini bread was so crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The sauce and ham in the sandwich was also very flavorful and yummy. It's also very filling because there's just SO MUCH meat in it! I would honestly make a trip here again just to eat their cuban sandwich because it was soo heavenly. I tried their grilled corn too and it was yummy and sauce on the top was very creamy! I didn't try the other dishes, but my friends said the chicken quesadilla was good but the fish tacos were alright, not the best they had. I am not so sure what the hype is about this place. I feel like I wasted my $ 50...I brought a frozen margarita, cuban sandwich and a pork taco...I was so unhappy with all three items. Margarita-they charge to "dress" the margarita and additional to add a flavoring...basically 15 bucks for an 8 oz syrupy concoction. I was better off buying a drink from BBQ's! Habana Outpost is a Brooklyn staple that was a go to place for me a few years back but I've slowed down on going as more people became fans and it became impossible to find seats in the summer. LOVE the outdoor, bench seating for summer time food and drinks with friends. It's a small space and can become very packed but when you do find a seat, it's worth the wait. I love the Mexican corn and the chicken burrito, those are easily my 2 go-to items. The drinks are ok, not as strong as I prefer but you can't have Mexican without a margarita. They now have opened a takeout spot across the street which I tried out 2 days ago. I ordered my usual chicken burrito which has rice and beans, peppers, and lettuce and tomatoes inside. I do wish it came with some type of sauce to make it less dry. I asked for sour cream for it and was told that they would have to charge me $1.25 for it. What?! My boyfriend had a shrimp, chicken and fish taco. I loved the shrimp taco which had a chipotle mayo on it. I recommend visiting Habana at least once in the summer to eat outside and enjoy the ambience. But then, stick to takeout so you can still enjoy the food without the crowd. read more

The bread and the meat and just everything is so wonderful and delicious, it's heaven in your mouth. The ambiance inside is also super cute with good decor. There's a nice outdoor patio too for when the weather is nice. I've taken friends here a number of times and love to stop by when I'm in the area.
