This is a beautiful, airy cuban cafe in Bushwick. Growing up in florida, it's always a challenge to find a good cuban spot that can compare to Miami. This is a good option! I've been here twice. I've tried their guava pastries, sándwiches and coffee. All are solid options. Today I had their plaintain chips and mojo. The chips are THIN but i actually liked them. You can tell they are home made. The beef picadillo empanada was just ok, it's small and a little soggy. Maybe early morning it's better because of the freshness. The staff seems pleasant and helpful, I'd definitely come back!

Most Cuban restaurants in the city evoke a sex appeal-fueled vision of Havana. Situated on a humble Bushwick corner with Cigarettes after Sex playing in the background, Tico's on the other hand brings to mind a railcar on the forlorn line to Hershey. On a recent Tuesday afternoon, two Bushwick bros sitting next to me lamented that no one else understood the beauty of Maria Hernandez Park. I ordered a simple breakfast bowl with a topping of pickled red onions, a few pimentos, avocado and two fried eggs. While satisfying, the bowl was perhaps a bit too sparse - the last spoonfuls of white rice were consumed without any accompaniments to spare.

Yum!!!! Found this place on yelp that is near by my parent's house. Love Cuban food so had to try. This place is welcoming and clean. Love the open space. You can order to the counter and sit and eat. Here is what we ordered and loved: Matcha Piña Cuban sandwiches The Tampa Jamón y queso croquetas All was yummy!!

Small space so be mindful when sitting and eating it's not a hang out place after you eat you should get up and go. Be courteous go their business to gain more clients and keep it on a rotation in& out. The food was good.

This restaurant blew my mind. Everything was delicious. Started with the watermelon juice, fresh squeezed. Refreshing and beautiful. Everything is esthetically beautifully made. All the juices are hand pressed. The cherry blossom matcha was clean, herbaceous and had the right sweetness. The Honey Lavender Latte was Lavender forward but not bitter. Just perfect. The ham and cheese croquettas were the best I've ever had. Perfect fill to bread ratio. The ham and cheese flavors came out vibrant and tasty dipped into the sauce. The North Jersey Cubano was incredible. The salami was crispy and fresh pickle came through with layers of flavors. Definitely reminded me of a good NJ/NY deli blend with the best Cuban sandwich. The bread is incredible. The Media Noche was fantastic. The sweet bread and mustard blends perfect. The bread here is sureal. The Mojo Chicken was healthy and delicious. The chicken was fresh and flavorful. Mojo sauce made me feel healthy and dangerous. Lol. I loved the tostones and light bright dipping sauce. The cafecito was like no other I've had. The whip the sweet foam into this paste. Do not skip this, nor dipping it into the tostado. Outrageous. Amazing. We had 2 desserts. Both good. 2 guava pastries. Guava puff light with a pop of gauva. Gauva paste cream cheese creamy heaven. Reminds me of childhood. We spent 3 hours here. Its definitely a fun cafe to spend the day at. Albert, Joshua and the cook were so kind.

I am a Cuban-American woman who was born and raised in Miami and I feel like sometimes it's tough finding a good authentic Cuban spot because I just love my mom and grandparents cooking, but Tico's was something I haven't found in New York yet! The Cuban sandwich isn't my go to dish, but I had to try it due to the amazing reviews and I did not regret it. All the flavors were exquisite. The mojo chicken bowl with the sauce was also a perfect dish with the plantains cooked to perfection and it also had so much flavor. It's a small spot but there is seating available if you want to eat there instead of take out.

Bright sunny spot where we stopped for breakfast today but they serve the whole menu all day. Friendly staff helped me discern my choices on the menu and if I must say, it was obvious that she enjoys working there. We ordered a Cubano sandwich and a two egg breakfast plate to eat with a latte and an Americano to drink. Everything came out quickly and was hot. Great flavors and lots of hot sauce varieties to choose from. My son ordered the Bistek plate and his girlfriend had a picadillo sandwich. We were all very pleased with our orders. Their bathroom is clean and cute too. We left with a bag of pastries that we are enjoying on a road trip!

Great Cubanos at this Bushwick cafe! The sandwiches were juicy, crispy and packed with flavor. The ham croquetas were also delicious, and decently sized. Great cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and you get a lot of food for the price. Highly recommend for lunch or a quick bite.

A great place to stop and enjoy a meal. The staff is nice and pleasant. Music and ambiance was calming and I was able to enjoy myself and my food. My one complaint: I've eaten plenty of Latin cuisine especially Cuban food. The food here was missing a bit of salt/seasoning. Was falling a bit bland to what I've come to expect from Latin food. Will come again and give another item a chance

I used to go to Millie's Cuban Cafe and was sad when they closed, but excited to see the new space and similar menu. You can order via app at a table or at the counter. The servers were friendly and it was pretty quiet when I came in for a weekday breakfast so there was no wait. If you are vegetarian there are many options for you!

The food was amazing. Extremely flavorful and warm. The service was quick and the servers were kind. They actually cared about what we thought about the food! And the ambiance was cool a lot of old photos and pictures of Cuba. Loved it!

I was riding my bike with my chi (dog) heading to Black Seed Bagels, when out of nowhere, was like i heard someone whistled i turned i see this place called Tico's Cuban Ameican Cafeteria, I stopped.... And I was like lets see how good this is. Firstable and thats why they got and extra star to make it 5 they didnt say "No Dogs Allowed" The guy taking orders with a smile, friendly thats a plus. The food, as i was reading the menu on their wall I saw Steak and Eggs and I stopped reading the menu and asked for that! Steak and eggs is my favorite out of all the choices in breakfast And it was pretty good! Good taste, cooked to perfection , homefries crunchy the way i like them and eggs, just eggs all i wished that they would have a good sauce to go with it, but is all good. I really enjoyed it . They place inside is nice and cozy, i like it. They have tables and seats outside the sidewalk. I really liked the vibe, i will definitely come back to tried other stuff on their brunch menu.

The ceviche was probably the best ceviche I've ever had in my life. It was blood orange based, but the citrus was really well balanced. The king oyster mushroom dish was soo delicious. The sauce and the texture of the mushrooms were to die for. I've salivating thinking about them right now! The fish was also so amazing. It's a beautifully designed space, and we went in the evening so it was dimly lit and had good tunes, contributing to an intimate and cool vibe. The service throughout was good both by our primary server and the rest of the team that was bringing out dishes. For the food, we did not feel that it was a strong start, but the ending was great! The first dish to come out was their cornbread, which we agreed was very light and had a super tender texture, but there was just nothing special about the taste profile to us. The second dish were their prawns. We couldn't put our finger on the off-putting flavor in there, but we agreed that something just wasn't right and almost tasted spoiled. You also had to work a bit to dissect the prawns and remove the heads and skin. To work for it and then not enjoy the taste wasn't a great combo for us, unfortunately. It started turning around with their sweet potatoes, a type I'd never had before that were "baby" and purple on the outside while white inside. They served the potatoes with a gorgeously whipped Greek yogurt that added the exact right amount of tang to balance the sweet potato and the herby topping. The stars of the night were the coconut basmati rice and the lamb shank. My goodness! The rice dish was so complex from a flavor and texture profile and just hit all the right notes for us, and that lamb! Definitely one of the best lamb dishes I've had - Impossibly tender and seasoned to perfection. One other note I'll make regarding drinks is that they did not have a strong wine list. I ended up ordering a red, but later heard our waiter recommend against getting their wine to another table and suggesting their cocktails and mocktails instead. Just something to keep in mind if you're a wine lover!
