Found this truck nearby and decided to try it. Menu had the usual items like any other halal food truck. I decided to get the combo over rice which is chicken and lamb. It came with the usual salad but also had some fries and a falafel, not sure if that's how they normally served but everything was delicious! And they also take card payments which is a bonus! The sauces white sauce, hot sauce, and green sauce? Never saw this before. They said it was mayonnaise and vegetable. The bright color put me off a little, as it looks almost like a green paint, but it tastes fine. There were some French fries and a falafel ball on the side, nice surprise with the fries. Habiba is a steinway staple. We always get Halal here when we are out at the clubs or hookah bars. The food is fresh and on point. The rice serving is reasonable and they're very generous with the meat. My go to is always the chicken over rice. The hot sauce isn't insanely spicy and the white sauce has good flavor. This spot is dangerously good. I don't come here often because I live pretty far from it. But it's near my friend's place, and honestly it's hard to stay away when you're hungry. For starters, at 7 bucks for chicken over rice, the quantity of food you get is insane. Every time I go back, before I eat I think, "Oh yeah, there should enough to satisfy me." But then I open it and I'm repeatedly AMAZED at how much they pack into those modest foam take-out boxes. "Am I going to be able to scarf this down" immediately becomes my new thought. Halal carts are sort of my guilty pleasure. I can't say Habiba B&B is my absolute favorite in terms of flavor, but it's definitely top 3 or 4 for me. The french fries are a nice touch. This is my go to Halal Cart. I eat here about once a week. The meats are are your typical meats that you'd find in other carts and the rice great (a bit spicier than other places). What makes this place the best in my neighborhood is how the staff makes my order however I like. I usually a ridiculous request like "only a tiny scoop or rice, mostly salad and throw in a couple falafels" or something and they don't question. They also give me generous portions. I like the hot sauce, I'm not a big fan of white sauce in general, but it's nothing out of the ordinary if that's your things. If you live in the area, this is the type of place you want to be a regular to. Sometimes they'll surprise me with some French Fries in my order. Okay maybe after my hundreds of visits to this halal cart, it was time to finally write a review! So of course, living in NYC we all have had our fair share of cart gyros and platters but this is my favorite cart by far! For starters, the prices are perfect - $7 for most platters over rice or $8 for combo platters over rice (chicken & lamb). Gyros are $5 I believe. Portions are HUGE! I usually get it for lunch and split it into two meals. They're also super accommodating and will give you the meat over salad if you ask :), which is what I like to do but the rice is super deelish too! The meats are always perfectly cooked, and they NEVER skimp on meat portions - the meat to rice/salad ratios are ON POINT! Service is always quick even when they have a super long line and people waiting, they'll get your platters made in under 10 mins. Overall, one of the best food carts in Astoria! Stayed at an Airbnb nearby and came here for some late night food! SO GOOD. Classic NYC halal on the street~ doesn't look like much for being in a little truck but it's a 10/10. We ordered a combo over rice, so chicken and lamb. The meat was just so delicious. Cooked perfectly and had a great flavor! They have a variety of sauces to top it off with which added a nice touch. We had the white sauce and we also tried the green. Although at first it looked a little strange to me because it was bright green, it was actually really good and the perfect amount of spice to go with the meats. Definitely try it! read more

Habiba B&B Halal has another truck in Sunnyside. Both are my favorite. The best value halal food you can get in 2019/2020. Get the mixed over rice, skip the salad (just sad lettuce leaves), get white and green sauce no matter what (lots of people skip on the green, which is strange to me -- it's got a little bit of herb and acidity to it that balances the white sauce really well), and the red if you like spicy (ask for extra if you like it really hot). Some other stuff like burgers are also on their menu, but honestly I've never seen anyone order anything besides lamb / chicken over rice or as a shawarma. Which is the way it should be. read more

The men are very pleasant and it looks clean for the most part, but I asked for my lamb well done and it was pretty cold actually. Like literally cold, but the taste overall is awful. It's total inedible. I cannot even eat it past a couple of bites. I'm going to have to toss out this $11 plate of food. Which is overpriced as is too because other spots in Astoria are $9 and $10. Best Halal Food in Queens! I've tried the chicken and lamb with rice, and it was amazing! The lamb and chicken were perfectly cooked and tender. The yellow rice was fluffy and wasn't greasy at all. Each platter came with fries and a salad for $7 (chicken) and $8 (lamb). For comparison's sake, I've tried the most famous Halal stands in New Yorker including Halal Guys in Manhattan and Sammy's in Queens (won the Vendy award). I would say Habiba's flavor is between Halal Guys and Sammy's. If Halal Guys have very little seasoning and Sammy's has a ton, Habiba is in the middle. It doesn't rely on the White Sauce for the flavoring as much as Halal Guys but it isn't so heavily seasoned like Sammy's. Habiba's doesn't use MSG either so that's a big plus for them. This is by far my most favorite halal food cart in NYC and I've tried many! I love this cart because the meat has flavor to it. The food is cooked fresh in front of you every single time. This place has not missed a single full belly meal for the past 10 years. From the start of middle school to a year after college i keep coming back to the combo over rice with 2 dollar extra meat thats packed to the point where the sauce and grease pool out the sides that barely manage to hang on to the clips. This halal food is the dankest, illest, most delicious feast ever. I eat their chicken over rice a minimum of 2 times a week, it is a staple in my diet and I can't get it too often. In the words of my roomate who we refer to as hodor "The falafel is life changing."
