Updating my review for 2024, but I have gone to Habibi Grill a couple times for takeout and I am glad to say that this place still hits the mark when it comes to flavor, freshness, and the sweetest service possible. Mo and his staff were so generous when taking my order and I did notice that they added a few more items on the menu like arayes and a plethora of desserts (cannot wait to try their knafeh). I am a huge falafel fan and I've had it in various establishments all over, but the way Habibi Grill's falafel are crafted is magical. Each bite yielded a herb-packed kiss of flavor accentuated by the sweet onion undertones. I usually get baba ghanoush for my order alongside the tabbouleh, but decided to be a tad healthier and get their house salad as a refreshing addition. Did I mention that the portions are so generous? I can easily make two meals out of them and given the cost of everything these days, it's a steal. Usually I am pretty picky about where I tend to eat or get takeout from, but Habibi Grill always left my taste buds and my tummy happy. I found this place on Google Maps because I was working nearby and I'm so glad I gave it a try ! I ordered the Chicken Shawarma plate with Hummus and Tabuleh as my sides. Ok so first of all, the hummus and tabuleh were really good! Served with a warm pita, it was nice to dip it into the hummus that had olive oil in it. Got here shortly after they opened on weekday at 11am. I wanted baba ganoush for my plate side but they were still trying to make it. Had to settle for hummus. They really should have had that made ready to serve by opening time! Got the half beef half chicken shwarma plate with hummus and tabouleh as sides. Check in on yelp got free fries and the cashier was able to allow me to redeem it as well. That was nice since the fries were made fresh! The seasoning in the fries are tasty. Reminds me of Red Robin's fries seasoning but better! The food is pretty good. I'd come back again. They put some kind of white sauce over the meat. I'm assuming it is the yogurt salad but not sure! Maybe another yelp member can clarify what that is. Prices definitely went up from what other yelp photos and reviews have previously posted. Plates use to be 10.99 or 11.99 but now it's minimum 14.99 One thing I wasn't ok with was the cashier had his mask improperly worn and he would have it half off too. Please wear it properly to protect yourself and others around. He was nice just needs to get the mask properly worn! They do have 6ft stickers on the floor for distancing. The food was fine. But the slowness of the service and poor communication from staff was truly unparalleled. We ordered at around 5:25pm and our show at La Mirada Theater was starting at 6:30 in the same complex. It ended up taking more than 45 min for them to make my daughter's burger and fries. I checked in a few times to let them know we had a time crunch. Then at about 6:10 they told me they made her burger wrong and had to make it again. They handed us the burger at 6:15pm. My daughter had to eat her food while sprinting through the parking lot trying to make it into the theater on time. This is not just a matter of understaffing. The guys had no idea what they were doing. First, we ordered and paid for lentil soups on the computers ($7.99 each) and then there apparently was no soup. No one even told us. 20 min later we ask "um, where is the soup?" And they said "oh. We're out." What?! We paid for it and no one was going to tell us or offer a refund without us asking? I asked for Kibbeh instead of the soup, which they never made. So had them process the refund but I don't see any refund on my card. My friend paid $2 extra for cheese on a falafel burger, but the order came out without cheese. She also ordered fries which never came out but there was no more time to process a refund as we were in a rush. My other friend ordered baba ganoush, pita and rice, which also took 45 min. Pretty sure all those foods are already made. It's not like they were roasting the eggplant specifically for her. It's a scoop from the baba ganoush and a scoop from the rice. Not sure why that took 45 min. All in all, you guys have some work to do. The dining experience was bad and you unintentionally stole money from us on several items because of incompetence. The food is prepared fresh, expect a little wait, but its worth it. The fries will be hot and crispy and the kabobs will be warm and yummy. Sorry but we are going to say no to this place. We got there and my girlfriend was standing in front for 10 minutes waiting for help. Nobody was around until I came inside and said...are you still waiting? Anyway, we even gave a nice tip but the meal was bad. The rice was sticky, the salad was bad and there was hardly any meat. Hidden gem in the heart of la Miranda. We got the falafel plate with hummus and tzatziki, and the beef shawarma plate with baba ganoush and tabbouleh. First time trying this place. Want to give it a fair rating. We placed a pick up order on a weekend; Super Bowl 2024 to be exact . We weren't craving pizza, wings, burgers or hotdogs ( weird , I know). Wanted something more authentic so we decided on Mediterranean ( FAVORITE) !!!!! Staff was kind when they took our order and called us back to confirm the order since it was over $100.00. They explained that any order over $60.00 needs to be paid over the phone before they start preparing the orders, which I understand. Had they told us that before we hung up the call, we would've paid. Regardless they took our word and prepared our food and paid upon pick up. We ordered shawarma beef and chicken meals . We're used to nice cuts of the trunk of the shawarma, but this was different. The protein was FINELY CHOPPED , with chopped raw tomatoes. Concept is different! You couldn't taste the flavor of the shawarma because the tomatoes overpowered it. It was served over a bed of rice and option of 2 sides. They have lots of sides to choose from and it makes it convenient to taste different sides. No issue there friends, but was an issue for us was the FINELY CHOPPED shawarma. I called the restaurant and discussed my concerns. The manager explained that this is how they serve their food and he did say, I know it is different. He explained that when we place an order in the future to ask without to tomatoes ( WE WILL)!!!!! Been here 3 times so far and it's down the street from my house. First night we moved here I was hangry and my bf got here as they were closing. The guy was kind enough to still take his order. I tried their chicken shawarma, sheesh tawook plate, grape leaves, falafel and mint lemonade. Everything was good and I always get extra garlic sauce and hot sauce. I'm a kabob girl through and through, but their shawarma hits the spot. Also gives you two sides and you can pick what you want. My daughter loves the rice here. My favorite is the Chicken Tawook plate with two different salads for the sides but I always make sure to order their hummus as well. The flavors here are just so good from the chicken to the rice the garlic sauce the pita bread with hummus the SALADS. Everything is FRESH & made to order so it does take about 25-30 minutes for my order to be ready but very much worth it. Dont go when you're starving or order ahead. Also I recently tried their baklava and you guessed it, it was veryyyy good I'd definitely recommend it if you've never had baklava. I am somewhat of a picky eater so for me to make these claims is pretty extraordinary lol. Checked this place out prior to catching a show at the La Mirada Theater in the same plaza. This was a good and quick place for some mediterranean/middle eastern fast food. I went with the Schwerma Wrap (beef and chicken) Combo (fries and drink). The Schwerma itself was filling and had a good amount of lettuce along with the meat. The fries were good, but a few were soggy. The Grape Leaves looked really good, but the rice on the inside was a bit hard and not as soft as I would have liked. read more

It's located in a shopping center so there was plenty of parking. I looked over the menu ahead of time so I knew what I already wanted to order. I went inside and I believe the Owner is the one who works the front. Super friendly and comes around the counter to hand you your food. Very clean and many tables to stay and eat if you choose. I ordered 2 Shawerma half & half plates. One had fries and taboula and the other with fried zucchini and baba ganoush. All the sides were shared. The portions are very large. I am a big eater and finished maybe 2/3 of it. The food is good, not great. The meats were just not as flavorful as I am used to with shawerma. The rice was somewhat bland, but the sauces were excellent. The sides were all good except the fries which were super soggy. Can't really judge the fries though as it was takeout and I had about a 30 minute drive home. Each plate is given 1 piece of pita, personally I think they should include 2. I've only had the kofta before and today I tried the shawerma and it did not disappoint. The owner, Mo, was super friendly and suggested other menu items to try for next time. I'd already left the place but he was so kind to call me to let me know that his cook had forgotten my pita bread, and to my surprise he was waiting outside and dropped it off at my car door! he even graced me with the most delicious baklava on the house "for my troubles." I think I just found my new, top favorite spot for Mediterranean cuisine - Habibi Grill! From the moment I set foot on the premises, I was continuously impressed with all that I experienced. Décor and service: (5/5) The brightly-lit, homely interior is as warm and inviting as the owner of the establishment. There are plenty of seats available in the wide, open space of the dining area. A tall, multilingual sign glowed a pleasant welcome to all who enter; it sort of reminded me of the kind of sign you would see at the entranceway of an international airport terminal. A set of hanging monitors displays the variety of reasonably priced menu offerings and carousels through sample pictures. There are a handful of small ornamental pieces scattered about the place. For example, there were hanging cloth pieces with camel and desert art images that gave a nice decorative touch. One thing that stood out to me was the amazing hospitality and genuine gratitude the owner displayed. During our meal, whenever he made the rounds to check on all of the customers, we had the opportunity to get to chat with him. He expressed how thankful he was for all the people that come and support his small business especially with the immense struggles he faced with running a new business right at the start of the pandemic. Food: (5/5) Shawarma plate ($14.99) - 5/5 For my first visit, I picked the shawarma plate to try out (by recommendation of the owner). This meal comes with a mix of chicken and beef, rice, and two sides. The surprising star of the dish was the rice itself. First, they nailed the fluffy, al dente texture with the long-grain rice (it's not dry, sticky, or soggy). Then, they flawlessly infused the aromatic mix of spices and seasonings (turmeric, cumin, etc.) into every bite of the yellow rice. When I asked about it, the owner explained that he created his original blend for the rice. On top of this are mounds of perfectly juicy and smoky pieces of grilled chicken and beef. This concert of flavors are tied together by a spread of tahini and garlic sauces. For my sides, I went with the hummus and taboula (a fragrant, minty salad with coarse greens, chopped tomatoes, and a touch of citrus - it's not bad but I think I'll go for the house salad or baba ganoush (egg plant) sides next time). A couple of warm pieces of pita accompany the meal. I seriously enjoyed each and every spoonful (the container was completely empty by the time I finished). Baklava - 4.5/5 Unlike some other versions I've tried at other places in the past, I really liked how this restaurant's baklava was not soaked in sweet syrup.
