    Chicken Tawook plate

Friendly service at counter. Some of the fountain drinks needed refills, but they have canned drinks if required. Food is made fresh (except for pitas). Good portions. Lots of chicken on Tawook plate, well-seasoned. Chicken shawarma sandwich is ok. Skimpy on the garlic sauce, but lots of chicken. Hummus is just ok. Free refills in fountain drinks. Tables and chairs are clean and in good repair.

Really do I need to update my 5 star review to a 5 start review. Yes! The quality remains top score. Dolmas are great. The lemon salmon off the charts. I think they recently changed the menus so if you have not been here in a while you must. Staff is always friendly and polite. Totally my local favorite because it's walking distance - or plenty of parking and great food. It's a cafe style so don't expect waited services. Sit where available. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place has always been spotless.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So wha ya waiting for.

Customer service was lacking. Kibeh or kibee was the best. Meat seemed bland and so did the chicken. We love kebabs and can recommend so many good places but this unfortunately isn't one we will come back too. The soup had great reviews but I think they over did it on turmeric this time. I'll post a picture so you can see the color, compared to the other lentil soup pictures on here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place definitely needs a little sprucing up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Stopped in for lunch on a weekday, after reading positive yelp reviews! You might miss this place if you weren't looking for it because of the busy shopping center it's located in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tons of parking, lots of seating inside, friendly staff, and super quick service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I tried the Fattoush salad, it was ready in under two minutes. The salad dressing was delicious - full of fresh herbs, it was also a good portion and fair price. The staff behind the counter helping take my order was extremely friendly and welcoming. Will be coming back if I find myself in the area, I recommend giving them a try for yourself!

Beef Shawarma Plate hitting the soul oof

Mazaya is one of those places you order when you want comfort food. It is one of my all time favorite restaurants in the area by far. The beef shawarma plate is incredibly delicious and can easily be split for 2 people, their portions are massive. Today I ordered the lentil soup too because it is a rainy day, and it is also a hefty portion, also delicious. In case you haven't noticed by my multiple reviews of this place, I love mazayas!! Lol

Came here for a quick dinner, we ordered beef and chicken shawarma plate. Their portion is pretty big and can be easily shared by 2 people. However, the meat was on the dry side and I wish they gave more of the white sauce or at least have it on the side. Service was good, we got our food within 10 mins of ordering. I'm interested in trying kafta next time.

What a delicious meal! All the food tasted so fresh! The chicken was so flavorful and the rice was fluffy and hot! The salad was very tasty! The crunch and tartness from the salad really complimented the chicken shawarma. I loved the mouthwatering food here! Prices were about $13 per plate and totally worth it. It was big enough to make two meals! Service was friendly and quick. The restaurant is clean but nothing fancy and there's plenty of parking out f I would highly recommend eating here!

Chicken Tawook Plate with fattoush salad & Filet Mignon plate with Greek salad

Finally, an amazing Mediterranean (Lebanese inspired) joint in the Whittier-vicinity! We ordered the Chicken Tawook and Filet Mignon plate with a side of falafels. First thing to impress me was how fresh and homemade the food tasted! Both the chicken and filet Mignon were perfectly cooked (juicy and flavorful) and the portions were plentiful. No doubt the falafels are a passed down recipe from the mother country! I was told everything is made from scratch in this family-owned business and I don't doubt it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The joint was tidy and clean- nothing too impressive when it comes to ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu was straight forward and very reasonably priced. They were able to accommodate customizations to the entrees, like ordering individual falafels instead of the plate. I'm definitely returning soon!

I've tried their signature The Melrose, which consists of black forest ham, oven roasted turkey, bacon, melted White American cheese, topped with house slaw (lettuce, red onions, pepperoncini tossed in their "Melrose" spread) and tomato. I absolutely love this sandwich!! It's packed with so much flavor, and the bun absorbs all of the juicy goodness, making every bite incredibly satisfying. Runner-up for me is the Uncle Nikki. This one has Genoa salami, pepperoni, capicola, provolone cheese, also topped with their house slaw. I've only ordered from here through Postmates, and every time their packaging is excellent--they wrap each sandwich in this cute wrapper, which adds a fun touch and keeps everything neatly intact and fresh by the time it arrives. Each sandwich is around $12 (as of June 2026), and I honestly think it's worth the price because these sandwiches are huge and so good!!

Probably wouldn't get it again though as it did not have enough buffalo flavor for me. Wouldn't mind coming back to try another different one though. Service was friendly. .., meet Whittier's Uptown hero!…read more My experience here was from 6/26/26 & it did not disappoint. Though I've been to Uptown Provisions twice before to support my friend Andrew M, as well as my other friend Andrew P. with Satori Coffee Project, this was my actual visit where I finally ate! Third times the charm! Tucked nicely into a Penn St. neighborhood, Uptown Provisions can easily be spotted by the loyal patrons waiting/dining outside. May the street parking gods be kind to you as they always provide me with a spot nearby. Knowing what I already wanted from doing my menu homework the night prior, I was practically drooling on my way in. Greeted by a great staff & friendly fellow patrons, I felt right at home. I went with the "Tom's Way" sandwich. Dedicated to one of their favorite customers, it's a crossover between an egg sandwich & a pastrami. It was perfect! Chef Aaron describes his sandos as the perfect West Coast sandwich, & that I can totally agree with. Tom's Way provided me with a robust sandwich blend that never knew I needed until now. Each component's flavor profile blended together nicely. I'm usually hit or miss with rye bread, but this rye hit the mark & held the ship together. The eggs were made with care & prepared in a way I've never tasted before, very delicious. Pastrami was tender, pickled onions provided the bitter tangy component while the broccoli slaw became the soothing blanket that nestled every flavor together. I absolutely loved my sandwich. They post a 20 minute wait time but I got mine in 15. Great things come to those who wait. They do not have a public bathroom so plan your visit accordingly. They have a few counter seats inside with plenty more outdoor seating in front with friendly locals chatting it up. Don't be shy with the napkins. Thank you Uptown Provisions for a great experience, I shall return!
