was aight. it was ok, nothing too special about the tacos. The meat was ok, the tortillas kind of tastest stale. There was just something lacking in flavor. i probably wont be visiting again

The Birria tacos are really good. The chips and guacamole is a must try. This place is a hidden gem, a no frills place to grab a bite to eat for lunch.

Habibi's was the place my friend and I decided to eat we first hung out together. It was a no brainer after we compared the ratings, comments, photos from other people and the prices from other nearby restaurants. We happily chose Habibi's Birria especially from the delicious looking food. I was looking for a new place that sold Quesa birrias. After door-dashing Habibi's to school, we fell in love with it. Since then, whenever I crave a Quesa Birria or burrito, I go straight to Habibi's. It's been our thing to go to Habibi's and order our usual foods together. Although they forget our extra side of sour cream, it's alright because the taste and customer service makes up for it. Their red sauce is spicy for me to handle, yet it's pretty addicting to add onto everything I eat. I have tried so many things here and there is yet to be something to disappoint me. From the food itself to the desserts, they all continue to exceed my expectations. The place itself has some upbeat music playing all the time which is nice when standing in line or waiting for the food to finish. My go to when I'm unsure what to eat.

Followed them here from their last spot at the gas station. My go to spot when I'm craving carne asada or birria fries and quesa birria tacos. The meat is alsways tender and flavorful occassionally salty but still delicious. Also halal!

I had a 2nd date with the guy that I'm currently seeing here as he raved about this place during our 1st date. The place was neat and clean. There wa was good music playing, and we both got the 3 birria tacos and he got a Coke while I got the Horchata. The food was very yummy. The Horchata was perfectly sweet. The time with him was fun and lovely. He also got us churros so that was a sweet treat. I definitely would come here again if I happen to be in the area. :)

Today's service and food was just not it today. Ordered ahead with a pickup for 7:10 pm They didn't have pastor but they called when I was driving once to ask what meat I wanted instead No hellos when I walked in...was told "you need to wait" when I approached the cash register. Place was empty...so not sure why. 4 minutes later I was asked if I was waiting for an order. Our tacos were all super skimpy (barely any meat) ...not sure if this was because we ordered 8 taco Tuesday tacos because they aren't this skimpy on the regular). We also got 8 tacos and only got one container of orange sauce (that barely had any sauce in it)

So glad I found this place - really cool Mexican/middle eastern fusion. Not to be dramatic but this is the best horchata I've had in so long lol. I LOVED the al pastor burrito i got - so so delicious. My friend ordered the quesabirria taco combo and that was very good as well, although the beef was pretty tough/not tender, which was unfortunate. Still, I appreciate the unique options they have here being a fusion restaurant (I thought birria ramen was just a food truck thing, but I've always wanted to try it!). I'll definitely come back and try more things on the menu, although I may stay away from their birria/beef due to the toughness.

I ordered this through DoorDash, so I ate it at home FYI. The meat was really nice and tender, the noodles were regular Tapatio cup o'noodles, but the thing that was missing was the broth flavor? It was almost there it was just missing like extra sabor? Maybe salt or some sort of umami flavor, I don't know. It was good, but was missing just a little something :)

10 out of 10 Quesobirria tacos were excellent. Birria ramen was super yummy. First time trying it. We received a free baklava from Javi. We were vibing! I did not get a stomache ache like I do with other spicy birria. Safe to eat here! Location is not the best for foot traffic. I think they should hold events like watching sports or bring in a DJ to bring in more people.

My go-to is the triple kebab (which you can customize), and I'm partial to their shami (ground beef), chicken, and chapli (beef patty). The meat is succulent and incredibly well-seasoned, with the shami being a standout...definitely the kind of dish you don't judge by its cover! This dish is served on a bed of rice and small salad. The rice is cooked well. I have also tried several of their appetizers, and my favorites are the samosas and borani banjan (eggplant), though the bolani are also great, and the serving size is enough to feed a small army. The samosas are a nice departure from traditional samosas I am accustomed to, especially at India restaurants. The ones here are large, flatter (almost like an empanada), and not the slightest bit greasy. You can tell they make these fresh. The banjan have a nice acidity and a tasty cream/tomato sauce they are tossed within. The bolani can be prepared with either leeks or potatoes (or ask for a combo!) and are served with a cream dipping sauce. I feel that everything here is a good value, with the triple kebab coming in at $25, and the appetizers all coming in at $10-$15. You will not leave hungry.

The beef kabob was tasty however, the meat serving sizes for the kabob plate was quite small.

Crazy ambitious menu with pizza, burgers, wings, kabobs, wraps and many Mid East favs like falafels, dolmas, gyro and babaghanoush. I only tried a couple of items, so I do need to try a few more things eventually. Order at the counter and food will get brought out. Seems like a place popular for take-out/deliveries. On a casual lunch I was impressed by the diversity in the place, as it is downtown Hayward. Young, old and cultural garb from several cultures spotted. Service at the register was friendly, dude gave off ownership vibes. Falafel Wrap ($11/4*) Very fresh and satsifying wrap. Big, soft and puffy pita bread is filled to the brim with fresh salad-like veggies. Chopped lettuce, tomato, onions and a couple of pickled items. Stuffed also with a decent amount of fat disk of falafel and a good dousing of tahini sauce. I loved the bites for the most part as I was full without feeling weighed down for the lunch hours. The falafels had good flavor but just didn't seem as crisp as I usually prefer, didn't seem fresh out of the fryer, which the places that are known for this definitely do. I especially liked the bites more when a pickled veggie entered the bite, so I should have ordered extra...next time. Beef Kabobs ($25/4*) Got this for take-out and it was still good hours later after a reheat. Beef is in small cubes and cooked pretty well done. A bit dry but at least it was flavorful. Definitely taste more Afghan in spicing/marinade, pretty bold with lots of garlic and herbs. De Afghanan out here in the east bay is the gold standard for these types of kabobs and those are cut into bigger chunks and are juicier by a lot. Kabob plates comes with a good amount of seasoned basmati rice, a pita bread, a small green salad and a small scoop of hummus. Even tho $25 seems a bit pricey, there is enough food to justify the price. I was able to make 1.5 meals out of it with a good dinner and a small work lunch. I actually want to try a pizza here and definitely a lamb kabob. I hang out in this downtown area often, so great having another casual option in my back pocket. Yeah Buddy!!

This is clearly something the owner does because a few reviews below someone else mentioned her review was flagged and taken down. THE OWNER/MANAGER IS NOT A HONEST PERSON. The owner of this establishment contacted Yelp to remove my original review, claiming my experience was not legitimate. I am reposting my review with screenshots showing that | placed an online pickup order and visited the restaurant. The photos are timestamped from 2/3/2026. Transparency matters, and attempting to discredit a real customer experience instead of addressing it reflects poorly on the business. Flagged Content: Order: Chicken Shawarma Plate Total: $17.55 Location: 217 W Winton Ave, Haywara, CA 94544 I am extremely disappointed with this purchase. The food was not good at all. The chicken was clearly not fresh--it tasted old and seemed like it had been reheated in the microwave, possibly from a day or two earlier. The side dish with garbanzo beans also tasted old. The pita bread was cold and not even warmed, which shows a lack of care. The service was just as bad. When I arrived, the front door was locked even though the restaurant states it opens at 11:00 AM. I arrived around 12:35 PM. A gentleman eventually came to open the door. When I told him my name and that I was there for a pickup order, he seemed completely confused. A young lady then stepped in and asked about my order, and I had to show her proof that I placed it online. Apparently, my order was not in their system despite my confirmation. She told me my food would be ready in three minutes. I was on my lunch break, and there was no apology for the door being locked or for my order not being ready. I ordered ahead specifically because I was on a time limit. The fact that it was ready in "three minutes" made it very clear that the food was reheated rather than freshly made. The ambiance was also unpleasant. The restaurant has large chandeliers trying to appear elegant, but it doesn't work. Chairs were stacked on top of tables, so dining in wasn't even an option. There was also a strong smell of floor cleaner throughout the restaurant, as if they were trying to cover up another odor. Overall, I do not recommend this place. The food quality, service, and overall experience were very disappointing. This was a waste of money. I ended up throwing the food away because I was worried about food poisoning and didn't have time to return it since I was on my lunch break. I will not be coming back.

To that I simply have to give my respects and give them a shout out. Very calm and relaxing space. Many regulars walking in picking up take-out food. There's a very kind and soft paced table service here that just reminds me of cute and quaint bistros/cafes from the days gone by. Actual dialogue between servers and patrons, questions answered, smiles passed along. A huge gap from QR code ordering and avoidance of interaction that is trying to be normalized from here on out. We ordered a couple of bottled beers, nothing craft brewed-like, just ordinary Euro/Mexican selections. I'm not as rigid as I once was, so just a good clean lager with a meal and some water is very welcoming to me. They brought nice beer glassware and asked if we wanted it poured into a glass. Sure ain't gonna turn that down, especially since it was already there. It did fit with the nice silverware, cloth napkin and candlelit table. Yet nothing was stuffy and formal, just casual locals out for a good time. Kofta Wrap ($19/4*) This wasn't mine but I did taste a piece of the kofta kebab. Theirs is a beef/lamb mix and is well mixed, almost like a firm meatloaf texture, versus a grilled burger texture. It was a good basic kofta, spiced moderately so not strong but also not bland. The inside also has a lot of lettuce, onions and cucs with a tangy yogurt sauce. I did taste a big hint of mint in my bite which I'm assuming are big hits of herbs with the salad and not the kofta itself. And it was wrapped nice and tight with even distribution so every bite got every element. I look for that in every wrap whether a burrito, med wrap and even stuffed pitas. Beef Shawarma Plate ($20/4.5*) Pretty heavily spiced, where you can feel the texture of the warming spice paste in each bite. A little strong but at least it gave you ride to another culture. Properly shaved pieces where the meat texture was still there and nothing like processed gyro meat. Served with yellow rice and an awesome salad with a tangy dressing. I especially loved the tangy green chutney that was so vibrantly herbaceous, a mint and cilantro punch that brightened the spice ladened shawarma. And I also loved the grilled tomatoes and onion garnish on top of the shawarma, just gave it a nice chef's touch. Mansaf ($25/5*) I have never tried this but as soon as I saw it, I had to try it. I was told it was probably Jordan's most famous dish. Super tender cubes of lamb, with a touch of fat on some pieces which I love. Totally swimming in this glorious creamy sauce made of dried yogurt and tumeric. The sauce was mild (spice wise), quite tangy with a noticeable milky flavor. Served again with rice but this time topped with toasted almond slivers, which added a nice texural contrast. I was also told that this was usually made with bone-in lamb, but think they did it this way to make it more restaurant friendly, maybe even American friendly. But I was just imagining if this would have been a bone-in lamb shank, I would have loved it even more. Great dish! Still have to try their extensive kabob offerings and an assortment of their mezzes whether falafels, hummus and other dips. Lots of work yet still ahead of me, but I just know that this is gonna be a smooth and fun ride. Bet.

Plus, I was craving Persian food, specifically a solid kubideh. Their reviews were good, but their kubideh and chicken plate was over $20+. Persian food is usually on the pricier side, but spending that much on a lunch plate feels excessive. So, I went with the kubideh wrap for $13 which price-wise was more palatable. It came with a side salad and seemed like a good value. It took a little longer than expected, which was fine. But the flavor wasn't there, and I was hoping for the depth of flavor I get from South Bay favorites like Yas in SJ. I unwrapped the whole thing just to taste the kubideh on its own, but it was bland. Like plain ground beef. I had to use the salt and pepper from my utensils packet to give it something, unfortunately. On the bright side, the salad, a Persian-style cucumber and tomato mix, was excellent. The lavash was soft and fresh, and the other ingredients were solid. But the kubideh, the star of the show, was underseasoned. For me, kubideh is the test of a Persian spot. If that's lacking, I'm not coming back. Maybe they had an off day, but based on what I had, it just didn't hit.
