misery mondays and pink mean girls wednesdays will never beat the aura that taco tuesdays have. TACOOO. anyway 2.50 a pop is alright for bay area prices! we got the carne asada and spicy pork. located in a random business plaza (i hate business plazas why are they always so beige and drab) service was nice! fun music tacos came with beans salsa and chips. also pickled carrots and radish. YUM! bare minimum i know but still yum. the carne asada was hella mid. like no flavor. the spicy pork was better and had great flavor! i made my friend eat the beans because aint no way i'll be cropdusting and blowing up the toilet. it's not too bad for the price but isn't special. in fact it is quite tipico!

The food was good. I had the 4 Street Taco plate. The service was prompt and good. The atmosphere was festive. We were a large group and they accommodated us really well.

Mexico Tipico is by FAR one of my favorite restaurants! I've been here for everything from casual dinners to birthday celebrations in their private dining room. Everything I've tried has been delicious, the service is always great and friendly, and they're kid-friendly too! They also have outdoor seating available. Whether it's drinks or a family dinner, I highly recommend this place!

Típico fajitas (steak, chicken, and shrimp.)

Great food with menu items you don't typically come across. We started with the queso fundido, which comes with a choice of chorizo or bell peppers and mushrooms. We went with the vegetable option, it's still cheesy, of course, but didn't feel as heavy as it might have with the chorizo. I ordered the Tipico fajitas which comes with steak, chicken, and shrimp. I liked it overall, though it could have used a bit more seasoning. My partner had the mole and really enjoyed it, especially with the fresh corn tortillas served alongside the fundido and his entree. The restaurant itself is cute and quaint. It's usually pretty busy, but we've always managed to get seated right away. I also really love their house salsa, it's spicy, addictive, and seriously delicious.

We stopped by and ended up trying the coconut ice cream for dessert and it was so good -- creamy, refreshing, and the perfect sweet finish after a meal. Definitely recommend it if you're coming here. I also really appreciated the atmosphere of the restaurant. The fresh flowers on the tables were a really nice touch and made the space feel welcoming. The restaurant was very clean, and it was great having the option of both indoor and outdoor seating depending on the vibe you want. Overall a really pleasant dining experience. I'd definitely come back!

Great food fast service atmosphere was nice. Although it was breakfast time and they had a great selections to choose from. I opted for a combo plate which included a beef enchilada a taco along with beans and rice. The hard shell taco was fantastic, the shell was crispy, crunchy and paper thin. I never tasted anything like it before. Also the enchilada was very good. Located on the corner edge of some business offices, it's very easy to miss. They also have a full bar the dining area has ample seating with tables and chairs. Which I prefer over booths.

They're available to order online but sitting inside or in their outdoor patio is a beautiful experience. The team is super friendly and speak Spanish as well. The food quality is top notch! The portion sizes are amazing too especially for the price! Authentic Mexican food with big portion sizes and a good price! You can't beat that!

I go often to this restaurant for the scallops. This time I ordered the campechana and I also love their micheladas . The service is fast and reliable. The place is very nice and friendly. If you want to eat the best scallops al mojo de ajo go there! Y todos los que trabajan aquí son súper amables!

Had a work-sponsored lunch for a coworker's birthday. The Mexican food here is fantastic, and it was absolutely filling and flavorful. I really enjoyed the steak and chicken dish. Service was great, and they even helped us keep a birthday cake in the fridge until we were ready for it for dessert. Great for groups. Highly recommend.

My in laws are extremely difficult to take out to eat as they are very picky and are old fashioned Mexican born boomers. My son just brought them here earlier in the week and when we went to take them out this Sunday to their other favorite restaurant which was closed so they chose this place. Again, that's unheard of that they would go out to eat twice in same week, usually if my mother in law wants Mexican food then she makes it, in our family all beans and rice are measured to her version and that is a very high bar, so my expectation were quite high and I was excited to try this place. Cute place in main strip into UC and in an industrial park so of out of the way from anything else so lots of parking.. They had a nice outside garden and sat us in their back room reserved for larger groups, we had 6 people. The place is decorated nicely with cool old pics on walls and the service was pretty good. My in laws apparently always get the siete mar soup which is this huge mix of seafood in a spicy broth. They loved that dish and really enjoyed it, they gave it a solid 4+. My daughter and her husband shared the chile rellenos and a wet burrito and they love their food, won't steal my son in laws thunder he will do his own review..... Wife had a wet chicken burrito and I had a fried whole fish. My wife enjoyed the wet burrito but we specifically asked for no guacamole because she is allergic. We did not say she was allergic at first just no guacamole in hers. When they brought the food it had guacamole so we asked if they could deal with it and the waitress remembered and said she asked for no guacamole but kitchen messed up. We said no worries and then told her that wife had allergies so then she asked if they could "wipe" it off, we were confused by that request and nicely repeated that "no" she is allergic so wiping off won't help. Waitress came back a few minutes later with no guacamole but that was a weird interaction. My sense is management has a strict no take back policy or something and waitress just trying to keep everyone happy??? We gave them benefit of the doubt no concerns just weird. I had the fish which we were going to share but right off new wife would not like. I make way better fish and I think issue was that it was not fresh. The sauces that came with were great and their beans and rice are excellent but my fish was a 2.5 at best. Chips were really good and again table seemed divided with ratings all over the place, I tried my wife's burrito and it was ok not great but she liked it. Decor and service I'll give it a 4.5, benefit of doubt given with the guacamole thing. Food I am going to go to a 3.5 as I average everyone and if we come here again I will try something else just the whole fried fish was not my flavor also it seemed kind of expensive for the food since we got no alcoholic drinks so there are much better options in my mind in Hayward for Mexican food. When we take out in-laws again they will want to come here so I will try something else but on our own again better and more affordable options all over the bay.

My sister's coworker recommended Mexico Tipico and said "Everything is good" so we didn't take her high praise lightly. Finally had the chance to check this place out with my sister over the weekend. Rating Breakdown: 2/2 Stars for Taste -- My sister was feeling a little under the weather so she ordered the posole. The waitress asked her something and my sister didn't catch it even though the waitress repeated herself twice, so she just said "Yes" (social anxiety for the win). Turns out she was asking if my sister wanted "pata"or pork trotters in the posole, for which HECK YES is the only correct answer. The pata was melt in your mouth delicious and the other cuts of pork in the soup were also so,so fork tender. I ordered the nopales (cactus) scramble, which is one of my favorites. The beans that it came was such an umami bomb, I was scraping the plate clean. Both of these came with your choice of flour or corn tortillas and we are team corn tortilla all the way. My husband ordered the chilaquiles con carne asada with red salsa, which was also very good. 1/1 Stars for Value -- I was a little hesitant at first because each platter was about $20 each, but the portion sizes are humongous. The platters are each about the size of a hubcap. We ordered the large soup so we could share, but we could definitely have done with the smaller portion. We had plenty of leftovers to bring home for breakfast the next day. There is also complimentary chips and salsa for the table and the salsa tasted housemade. 1/1 Stars for Customer Service-- We came for Saturday brunch and just beat the rush. This place was bumping by the time we were leaving. Even though it got busy, the waitress was super attentive and fast. It was never hard to flag her down for service. Bonus star because I'll definitely be back for Mexican breakfast but there are also a ton of other things on the menu that I'm dying to try.

. The customer service was horrible. I asked for a manager and Gille (bartender) told me they didn't have one.

A long-overdue review!…read more My husband and I had dinner here when it had just opened, almost seven years ago. Looking through old photos recently brought back memories, and I realized I never got around to sharing our experience. We had a wonderful time--the food was delicious, the service was great, and overall it was a very enjoyable dining experience. While I never made it back, my husband has visited a few times with friends and always had good things to say. The main reason we haven't returned as a family is because both of our boys (now adults) are allergic to seafood, and I usually prefer having them with us when we dine out. But after seeing these photos again, I think it's finally time for another visit and see if it's just as good as I remember!

Dear Manager, I…read morewould like to share my experience at your restaurant today. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the way I was treated by the host, Mirella. When I arrived, I politely asked for a table in an area that was clearly available. The restaurant was basically empty at the time, but Mirella gave me what appeared to be one of the worst tables in the restaurant. When I asked about getting a different table, her attitude toward me was rude and unwelcoming. I understand that restaurants have seating policies and that sometimes certain tables may be reserved, but I believe customers should still be treated with courtesy and respect. In this situation, I felt that I was treated unnecessarily poorly, especially considering that there were plenty of other tables available. I am not writing this complaint to cause trouble for anyone. I simply believe management should be aware of how customers are being treated. I hope you can look into this situation and make sure that guests are welcomed and treated respectfully regardless of which table they request. Thank you for taking the time to hear my concern. And by the way the food and the server were great Except the host Mirella Thank you

The vibe is awesome, they have a great bar area with a couple of TVs playing sports, and the music was definitely bumping. The staff was incredibly nice and super attentive to our table the entire night. Food-wise, this spot doesn't miss a beat. One of the best surprises was that they offer fresh crawfish, which is pretty rare to find at most seafood boil places. Everything we ordered was packed with flavor, and the garlic fries were amazingly good. Honestly, this boil spot isn't lacking a single thing. Whatever they are doing, they need to keep it up! This has easily jumped to the top of my list as one of my absolute favorite seafood boil spots.

My party arrived around 6:38 PM and added our name to the waitlist for dinner. While waiting, it became increasingly clear that more than half of the dining room had already finished their meals. Many tables appeared to be staying simply to watch the soccer match on the TVs. I completely understand wanting to enjoy the game, but at the same time there were 4-5 parties waiting for tables, with groups of various sizes. This raises an important question: at what point does management step in to balance hospitality with serving waiting guests? While no one should be rushed through their meal, when tables have clearly finished dining and a long wait is building, there should be some effort to manage table turnover during peak dinner hours. After waiting about 45 minutes with no indication that seating would happen anytime soon, we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. Ironically, we didn't receive the text that our table was ready until 8:07 PM--nearly an hour and a half after we first checked in. The food may be great, but based on this experience, the waitlist management left a lot to be desired. I hope Backyard Bayou reviews how they handle busy nights and finds a better balance between accommodating guests who want to linger and serving the many customers waiting to dine.

The meal came with a 4 oz NY steak, grilled shrimp skewer, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. The shrimp were nicely seasoned and cooked well, and the steak was still tender and flavorful. I ordered it medium rare and it came out a little more done than I expected--closer to medium--but it was still enjoyable and not dry. One of the biggest surprises here continues to be the complimentary sourdough bread. It's actually served fresh and hot from the oven. This time I had to wait a little because it was still baking, and my server let me know that upfront. It was worth waiting for: just the right amount of sourness, soft inside, with a thin, crisp crust instead of the overly thick, hard crust you get at a lot of restaurants. They also score the loaf before serving it, so it's very easy to pull apart. Honestly, one of the better complimentary breads I've had at a restaurant. I also tried the $9 Caramelized Pineapple Margarita. It was definitely on the sweet side, including the cinnamon rim, but it had a noticeable fresh pineapple aroma and was a fun drink for the price. What really pushed this visit to five stars, though, was the service recovery. My server had checked on me a couple of times earlier in the meal, and when I later mentioned that the steak was a little overcooked, she immediately went to get the manager. I wasn't asking for anything--I was just giving feedback. The manager came over personally, apologized, and asked if there was anything he could get me. When I couldn't think of anything, he suggested ice cream and brought me some. The steak being slightly overcooked was a small issue, but the way both the server and manager handled it was excellent. Good service isn't about everything being perfect; it's about how a restaurant responds when something isn't quite right, and they handled it exactly the way I would hope. Between the excellent value of the daily specials, genuinely good fresh-baked bread, good seafood, and attentive service, I'm very happy with this place. I'll definitely be back--next time I'm especially interested in trying their Sunday cioppino or coming during Social Hour.

The crispy pork belly and chive cakes are excellent, along with the tom kha soup, for appetizers. Their rendition of pad see ew is one of my favorites, with the bitterness of the crisp Chinese broccoli (not regular broccoli, thank goodness) providing a nice contrast the sweetness of the sauce. Great wok hei and just a whisper of white pepper. When the restaurant first opened, my experiences there were a little uneven, and I found the curries watery, the crying tiger tough, and the portions on the small side. I've been back more than a half dozen times (both for dine-in and takeout) and the kitchen is hitting its stride and the front of the house has ironed out.any service kinks. It looks fancy inside for a small Thai restaurant. We ordered Pad Thai, Kow Soi Duck, and Sirloin Nam Tok. The Pad Thai had a good balance of sweet and sour. Sirloin Nam Tok was the best, with fresh herbal garnishes and flavorful sauce on juicy sirloin slices. Kow Soi Duck, their popular dish, was the worst at the table because the duck was mostly fat and not flavorful, unlike Chinese-style. It was not worth $28 to dig in due to the deconstructed plating presentation and overcooked egg noodles in a small bowl, but the curry sauce was the best part. The service was nice, despite one waitress serving the tables. A bit pricey, as long as you don't order their popular dishes for now. I should try their appetizers and mango sticky rice on my next visit.
