We arrived before our meals were ready so we waited an additional 15 minutes. We left with our order, and stuck my hand in the bag for a couple of fries while it was hot. Unfortunately, the fries were barely warm, and not crisp, so I was pretty disappointed. I've been to this Habit Burger spot in Elk Grove a couple of times before. It is located in a small plaza with a lots of other businesses so parking can be full sometimes. It's well organized and well maintained with a good size dining area. On previous visits, the burgers were good. However this last visit, the burger was not very good. It looked like it was a frozen burger. The burger patties at Habit Burger are supposed to be fresh, not frozen. So obviously it was not the juicy, delicious burger as expected. For some reason the fish does not seem as fresh or as tasty as I remember it. I really thought I would come back to the taste I loved but it was not to be. It was my first time trying their burger and I was hoping it would be flavorful and savory, but it lacked seasoning. I would say it's still better than major fast food burger chains because it's fresh and uses good quality ingredients. I like how there was an option to swap the regular American cheese for white American cheese, and grilled onions for raw onions. I placed the order online and scheduled a time for it. I got my usual Double Charburger with cheese added grilled onions and told them to make sure the cheese gets melted. One new thing I tried was the tempura green beans ... not something I'd normally get at a fast food burger joint, but someone told me about these and recommended them, so what the hell? Order was taken efficiently and repeated for accuracy. I got my buzzy thingy and sat in a nice booth with good light. The buzzy went off and I got my food. That was a pretty decent portion of the deep fried tempura beans. I used the ranch dressing to dip them in. Wow, OK, then these beans are better than I thought they might be. Maybe not kike tempura at some Japanese restaurant, but pretty decent for a burger joint! I placed an order on the Habit Burger app. A double char no onions no tomato. I received a double char with onions, cheese, and tomato. I am lactose intolerant and could not eat the burger. It also included bacon that I did not order. I ordered a kids burger with no ketchup because my granddaughter will only eat it plain I received a hamburger with so much ketchup she couldn't eat it.
