I also love that they cater to keto, because that's exactly how I order here. I always get the bacon smash, no bun, with either pepper jack or cheddar and the one thing I don't skip... the bacon has to be well done. I stopped by Smashburger on Laguna Blvd tonight and ordered a deluxe cheeseburger and Brussel sprouts to go. I didn't have to wait long for my order, which was great, because the staff didn't have idle time to clean all the tables and the beverage area. My burger was okay, but no flavor to it, so I cbrought it home and added a thousand island sauce to it. The brussel sprouts was very greasy, which is normal, but no flavor or dipping sauce, so I made a chipotle sauce for dipping after soaking up some of the oil on a napkin. The condiments they gave me (in the bag) were several little packages of ketchup. That would've been good with the fries i didn't order. The food is mediocre, and the waitt is outrageous. Consistently, when we come here to order as it's convenient, i takes approximately twenty to thirty minutes to receive your order. Everything was cold and it took forever to get our food. And don't let me get them about their ranch. Absolutely disgusting. Take that off the menu. I love Smashburger's black bean (veggie) burger and rosemary Smashtots. It's the only chain that I know of where you can get a unique, gourmet veggie burger that actually tastes good! And, the rosemary tots... are kinda fancy, too, for a chain. I like their regular burgers, too - they're flavorful plus you can get a (fancy) truffle mushroom burger! Stopped in on a Saturday evening. I haven't been here in a over a year. Their menu has changed a bit. I use to get the Jalapeño chicken smash but they've really limited their chicken selection. I went with the chicken smash. It was ok but I love their smash sauce. There's only one staff who did everything. He took everyone's orders. He delivered everyone's food. He packaged everyone's food. He did it all. I felt so bad for him. While I waited for my order, I noticed there were a lot of to go orders. I think a lot of DoorDash and Uber Eats pick ups. I waited over 20 minutes for my food. They're a bit short staffed here so be sure to bring your patience. I made sure to clean up after I was done as I saw a few tables left their trash. As for the burgers they all came out very hot, I even burned myself with the first bite, pleasantly surprised. My only issues were, my burger had too much ketchup and mustard, it was very messy. We have gotten the single and the double smash and I would recommend you go in for the double. The classic double comes with everything and cheese. The burger is a standard burger and not that flavorful. They usually have good fries and tots but last time those came out cold so thats no bueno. The service is good and this place gets busy so there is usually a wait. That could explain some of the issues I have had here but for the price, and with all the food options in the area I expect better.
