Absolutely terrible experience. I came in with my two sons and ordered combo meals. From the start, the manager, Alex, had a bad attitude. When I asked for the drinks that came with our order, he acted bothered and had the cashier hand them to me. I mentioned that two were medium and one was large, and he immediately responded that it would cost extra -- which was fine, I paid it. The real issue was the attitude. When our number was called, I picked up our trays and politely asked for ranch dressing. He snapped back that it was 66 cents. I said no problem and asked if I could just leave a dollar so I wouldn't have to get back in line. He refused and told me I had to pay first, then grabbed my tray and shoved it to the other side of the counter with an attitude. Completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Right after that, another customer asked for BBQ sauce and said, "This is the last time I ever come here." I told him I felt the same way. The cashier then whispered something to the manager and laughed, which made the whole situation even worse. I understand businesses have policies about charging for extras. That's not the issue. I stopped by this Habit Burger to get some lunch after my lab appointment across the street. I came before lunch so I was able to find parking in the plaza this location is in but just be aware that during lunch, the plaza will be busy. I placed my order through the app so I got the double Charburger with cheese and customize it to be lettuce wrapper which I probably won't do again. I also got an order of fries as well. My order was ready at the pickup time and the staff were nice. The inside of this location isn't that big but it's a decent size. The lettuce wrapped burger gets messy and they also put a lot of lettuce. The burger was delicious though, I just had to remove the top layer of lettuce since it was too much. I was unaware of their $6, $8, $10 meal deals and she made great recommendations, then came from behind the counter and showed me about those limited time deals on the self ordering app so I could look through it and see the visuals for the different options. The food came out in good time and was well prepared including the presentation. It was absolutely delicious. I decided to bypass the automated machine they have where you self order at an electronic stand by the door. I learned when I'm in a rush I can go up to the counter and order there too. I walked in. I ordered my 2 items to go for the Santa Barbara Sandwich & the Double Char Grilled Cheese Burger to go. I paid and was given a pager that let's me know when my order is done. I was in and out in 5 minutes of ordering my meal at the counter. I ran to run errands in the giant shopping plaza it is located in and when I came back it was ready to go. Bada Bing, Bada Bang. Look, the staff here is always great - same with the food. But their new "sauce policy" is insane. Essentially, there is no more free ranch. (Unless you order a couple of specific sides...which does not include fries) Only at Habit can you pay $17 for a fast-casual chicken sandwich meal and still get charged for a single 2-ounce portion cup of ranch. I wouldn't even mind that much if it was mentioned anywhere, but I was in a hurry and had to wait another extra 5 minutes after getting my food so they could separately ring me up for 67¢. Without the offer, a drink, fries, and cheeseburger would have been about $17, pretty high for, basically, fast food. The burger and fries were fine. Nothing extraordinary. But what really stood out to me was when I got my food, I asked for a couple sides of ranch and the woman - who was very kind - said she could give me ONE for free and the second would be 66 cents. Two female employees, one of which was a supervisor. Didn't get names but they were both extremely unapologetic. It should have been told or announced to people waiting in line. How do you run out of fries?? We had two hungry toddlers with us and wouldn't have wasted time standing in line had we known. Manager today (11/11/2025) is incompetent and just cost this chain thousands of dollars in repeating business. We were happy to find a new place close to work to feed our 50 employees our monthly work lunch. Spoke with them a few days ago about ordering 50 meals, and scheduled the pickup. We tried to pay in advance over the phone, they told us to pay when we picked it up. Whoever the manager today is told the staff to not make our order.
