So glad I found this nostalgic Tommy's , I haven't had it in forever. Of course I order the combo with chillie cheese fries LOL My drive thru experience wasn't bad at all , very straight forward for a lunch time rush. I was there for an early lunch. Ambiance seemed easy going , I don't think this location has seating inside. St and some restaurant parking spaces available. So delicious !!

This location is on a corner lot. One direction in and one direction out. Parking is limited. Ordered a hamburger and fries along with a soft serve ice cream cone. The service was quick and we were off on our way. The area location is in Van Nuys on Victory.

Perfect, soft bun, and extra chili Excellent Better than the Tommy's over on Rampart and Beverly

In the area and I remember how good this place was the last time. Ordered the double chili cheeseburger extra chili with nothing else and it was delicious cooked perfectly soft bun and the chili was not dry. Crew lead (Jefferson is his name) was very nice and pleasant to work with.

Good old Tommy's, we got a double berger and a drink, for some reason it wasn't as good as I remember, the service was good and quick and the servers very nice. The French fries were very good! My wife had a soft serve cone, but it was pretty Ambiance ate a small drive through really?

Very Convenient location because it has drive thru ! Everyone is always very kind , food is tasty and fresh , hot . Also it's a good idea to sign up to their e-club ! You will be notified of deals and promos ! Everything is pricey nowadays so when the OG Tommy's sends me an email with 2.99 chili burgers I'm going !! Jefferson the manager is very kind and proactive with guests . Thank you Tommy's a Cali legend for good reason .

This is my guilty pleasure spot that I love to pick up on a last minute whim on a weekday. They do have the best chili burger in town. Plus, they are minutes away from me. When I do order from their drive through on the way home from work I love to order everything double and triple decker. I usually get their Triple Chili Cheeseburger with no mustard and pickles. I mean on a cheat meal why not go all out. I also order their Double Chili Burger too. Their fat fries are a perfect compliment to it all. I also usually order 3x of each item and we eat them for days. I also don't eat the buns so I feel a little less guilty but it's so good how can you resist.

Another deliberately crushed, colder than room-temp burger.

No one goes here for ambiance or service (if you do, review your life choices). They come here for burgers and chili and fries. That's it (and only marginally, at that, if truth be told). And after getting poorly-made burgers for an exorbitant amount -- ones that *somehow* managed to both be deliberately crushed -- hey, they were actually cold, too. Not room temp. Cold. Hey, losers, this will still probably be your finest work (and your highest-paying job). You did this. You screwed yourself. Deliberately. I came here for the *only* thing Tommy's can offer, and your hard work of deliberately screwing it up guarantees that I (and everyone I ever talk to) will never be back for crap like this. Tommy's used to be okay, then settled into 'meh' but acceptable. If the burgers had only been cold, that would've been bad enough, but deliberately crushed like this? We didn't bother eating them, of course. If you are childish enough to do this, you are stupid enough to do anything. When Tommy's finally closes, it will be because you did this and things like this. I got a far better burger down the street -- hot, tasty, and strangely, not crushed by childish idiots -- and actually paid a little less. Buh-bye, Tommy's, you used to be great.

    So good. Buddy approved.

Tommy's has the best chili burgers in the City. They are filled with flavor, greasy, and yummy. They are not for those who want healthy food. They are made the old fashion way and they taste do great. They also have breakfast, hot dogs and all sorts of drinks. You can dine in, which is always fun or get it to go, use the drive thru or have it delivered. The service is super nice. This is one of our favorite Tommy's. If you are in town try it.

The atmosphere is casual and…read morefestive, with TV's playing sports and a varied crowd that includes daters, older couples, families and singles making the most of their weekend. There's music that's lively without being overbearing, and the staff is uniformly friendly. But... You have to order at the bar and, though they have runners to bring your food, you do have to hunt them down for anything after the delivery (extra ketchup, etc). While this isn't my favorite system at my age, to be fair, whatever the owners are saving on staff is reflected in the prices, which are absolutely below most places in the area for food that is good-quality and drinks that are generously poured. So yes, my wife's Espresso Martini was served in a deep-bellied Belgium beer glass, and my whiskey neat was a hefty pour. Yay!! For food, I ordered the Smash Burger, which is served with melted American, grilled onions and the house version of Russian dressing (as well as pickles, which I deleted). The burgers had a nice, smashed crust while remaining juicy, the cheese was properly melted, and the grilled onions had a terrific caramelized sweetness, while the house sauce was very well-balanced: ketchupy and creamy without being too mayonnaise-heavy. A very good smasher. My wife ordered the Big Texan Burger because she wanted cheddar and frizzled onions and BBQ sauce, though she deleted the bacon and pork belly that are normally included. This, too, was a very good burger: cooked to a proper and pleasing medium-rare and well-seasoned, with a good, fresh flavor to the beef. The onion rings were less successful, which are of the beer batter type, but seemed to be a commercial, frozen product. The coating was browned but not crisp, and the flavor was relatively nondescript. We didn't really eat them, and wouldn't order them again. And so, to me, The Tipsy Cow is a bit of a mixed bag: reasonably priced decent food and reasonably priced, generously-poured drinks -- but in a mostly self-serve environment that incrementally loses its appeal in relation to your age and your dining circumstances. Certainly worth a try, but you've gotta be in the right mood.

Looks like he was the bartender - bar did have people too. Took awhile to get some food going as well, but we did eventually. Staff was friendly, so other than the waiting, it was a great time. Sherman Oaks is gritty and the section of Ventura Boulevard that houses TLP is almost brutalist in its anti-establishment aesthetic. You would never know it was here if you didn't either live in the neighborhood or seek it out as I did. It is sandwiched between a completely non-descript place that I didn't even look at and a crystals shop with grafitti-etched windows (unfortunately!) but some really cool beads. Inside is the same -- no frills, a dress-down and survive-if-you-dare vibe. My pictures will illustrate what I mean. Nevertheless, the friendly service (shout out to our server, Patrick), the menu, and the quality of the food are well worth it. Again, see what we ordered in the photos attached. Everything was delicious. The floor, tables, and chairs were all clean. There is some kind of post-apocalypse rhumba going on with the ceiling treatment. It is almost reverse-logic art with all the shading (stains? velour movement?) and utilitarian installation it reveals. Love the walls though, and the worn distressed wood everywhere (see the pix, folks). A bonus was watching the Masters (Patrick let us linger) and sitting by a giant window that was open to the street. Parking is up a block or so on either side. We always find safe spots in Sherman Oaks. The music seemed to be one CD of an unknown (to me) vocal artist and was pleasant. The crowd was friendly and the whole atmosphere was like one big homey grunge party. You know those mornings you fall out of bed and almost don't want to change out of your pajamas or yoga threds? This is the place to go. I loved it. (NOTE: You may have to refresh this page twice to see my pictures, for some reason. grrrrrr)
