Garlic and basil, chicken sandwich with basil pasta side
    Hyd F.

Always fresh and homemade delicious sandwiches and pasta salad at stone oven. I got the chicken garlic and pasta

    Chicken bone inside the sandwich
    Truth I.

Honestly this place has gone down hill real fast I've been coming here ever since it opened and it has never been as awful as it was today. First off lets move past the fact that they have gotten incredibly cheap over the past few years. Everything is in to go packaging and portions have gotten less and less over the years. I paid $53 for 3 sandwiches that come with a side and drinks normally it wouldn't be an issue but today I bite into the sandwich and immediately get hit with a chicken bone. The chicken is normally shredded better and it just looked like someone got lazy and just ripped it up and threw it on there. The person working the register was extremely nice so that's the only reason why I didn't go back to complain but this was just insane I have never been as disappointed as I was today if your gonna charge $13 for a sandwich then you can probably afford to give normal food and bring back the old stone oven.

Asian Chicken Salad with Tuna instead of Chicken
    Angel R.

I came to the mall ready for dinner after a day at the park. I ended up substituting the chicken for tuna with the Asian Chicken Salad and it was a great decision! Service was a bit off-putting but the food made up for it. The bread was so soft and made the giant salad so filling and worth the bang for the buck. There was more than enough seating at the food court and parking around 5pm. I'd definitely come back!

    Menu

I was in the Westfield Sherman Oaks mall running errands when my hunger pangs started up. I was near the food court so I went in and found Stone Oven. I like this place because they have filling sandwich options. I have dietary restrictions so when they're able to, they accommodate them (which I greatly appreciate). I ordered the BBQ Chicken Sandwich (protein style) and a side Caesar Salad (they have really good Caesar dressing). The chicken is shredded and has BBQ sauce with beans and corn and melted cheese. When I received my meal, I noticed the portions were smaller which is why I deducted 1 star. You do receive one free fountain drink refill with your meal. The food was still satisfying. I ate it all and left full and ready to finish my errands. If you're in this mall, and are in the mood for a sandwich, check them out.

    Hot chicken sandwich

The food tasted great but they got our order wrong twice I got the Hot chicken Sandwich and the sandwich was not even spicy I asked for no beans and got beans in my sandwich.

While in the area for a workout, I found myself famished and decided to stop here for a quick bite to take home with me. I ordered a bowl to go and it was made promptly although the order didn't end up being completely correct. I ordered a create your own bowl with some wild rice and kale, cucumbers, apples, chickpeas and sweet potatoes. I had also ordered the spicy cashew dressing and pesto vinaigrette but in place of the pesto vinaigrette I was given hot sauce. I double checked the order slip that was placed on the package and it was marked with both dressings, so I know the mistake wasn't on my end. Regardless, all of the veggies were very fresh and the dressing and hot sauce were very flavorful. Everything was portioned well and the meal was very hearty. It was also packaged in a way that made it easy to take with me to go. They have a lovely spacious outdoor patio that I would have loved to sit on, especially since it was a gorgeous day out. The inside and exterior of the restaurant was also very clean and tidy and bright. The service was friendly but it was busy when I came, so it felt like they were very rushed. Parking was very easy in their giant lot that they share with Amazon Fresh and a few other businesses.

The salads when we got them home were just about inedible. The actual "greens" were OK, I guess. But: -the dressings sucked...bad tastes and so sweet. -both of us bit into chicken pieces that had the crunchy cartilage part. This is BASIC for any restaurant serving chicken... no Crunchy Cartilage Parts! -the assembly line preparation looks like it could be kind of cool and efficient if all the elements were crazy good. Like Chipotle back in the day. But this looked like what it was... children dipping their ladles into not so great-looking bins of ingredients. (The kid serving us was actually quite nice and personable.) -I went and looked at the calories, fats, carbs, etc (online)( and was not impressed. Not how I want to use up that 755 calories for a salad. I predict this place will be gone within a few months of the new Whole Foods going into this complex. I'm so bummed... I just wanted a decent place to grab a decent salad that is walking distance from my house.

Had the answer been no, I would have moved on to my other top choice or second choice or whatever. 20 min later my plate arrived with no white meat. I saw 4 pieces - all small and two were clearly a wing and drumstick and I assume the other was a thigh cut in half. I checked it to see as it was dark in the restaurant by touching it. My mom and I were sharing and she was going to eat the dark meat but the server wouldn't take the food back because I had touched it. Well that was it for my OCD, wait a do you re a serve food? Of course I touched it, I was the plate I ordered and I was looking for the white meat that was supposed to be on the plate. I just wanted her to bring me my proper order by bringing me a breast or tenders. She didn't have to remove the food. That was enough to mar my experience with them. She did bring me a piece finally. Also 7 dollars for drip coffee is outrageous. The drink prices and food prices are in separate worlds. The food pricing and taste were good. The service was mediocre. Because then she pawned us off on her coworker.

While the prices at Mendocino Farms are on the higher side, the quality of the food makes it completely worth it. The salads are original, incredibly tasty, and consistently fantastic. What truly sets this place apart for me is personal: my mother has a chronic illness and often has very little appetite. One of the *only* things she reliably eats--and genuinely enjoys--are the salads here. Even on days when she says she has no appetite at all, the Mendocino Farms salads are a sure thing. I ordered the Loxes, which was described as scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, tomatoes, onions, pickled red onions, sour cream, daikon sprouts, fresh dill, sourdough toast, and a choice of grilled potatoes or mixed greens. On paper, it sounded like a flavorful and satisfying combination, but unfortunately, the execution fell well short of expectations. The first disappointment was that the entire dish arrived only slightly warm--closer to room temperature than freshly prepared. Eggs and smoked salmon are at their best when served at the proper temperature, and the lukewarm presentation made the meal feel like it had been sitting for a while before reaching the table. The smoked salmon also didn't taste particularly fresh. It lacked the clean, delicate flavor and silky texture you'd expect from quality lox. The sourdough toast was another letdown, as it tasted stale rather than crisp on the outside and soft inside. Combined with the underwhelming salmon, it made the meal feel less like something prepared to order and more like an afterthought. Flavor-wise, everything was surprisingly flat. Despite the variety of ingredients--fresh dill, pickled onions, sour cream, tomatoes, and sprouts--nothing really came together into a memorable dish. It wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't something I'd crave or recommend. At $19.95, I expected much better quality, freshness, and attention to detail. There are plenty of brunch spots in Los Angeles serving more flavorful, better-executed meals at this price point. One positive worth mentioning is the free parking in the back, which is definitely convenient in an area where parking can often be a hassle. Unfortunately, convenient parking alone isn't enough to make up for a disappointing meal. Based on this experience, I won't be returning.
