Not the best tacos. A fun place to go, vibrant decor and quick order at the counter. We had a large group and ordered most of the menu. The margarita pitcher is beautiful, abundant and delicious. The ceviche was fresh and wonderful. The rice and beans were flavorful. It fell short with the tacos for me. The burnt on cheese on the tortillas ruined the entire taste of the tacos. Delicious food!! I ate the other day and had to come back for more. HOWEVER I specifically asked for one red and one green sauce with my green chili and mushroom vampiros. I ordered 4 and asked for red with two and green with two. I was told.....they come with one of each!! I received ZERO!!!!! After living in San Diego for several years and having some of the best Mexican food in the world, I can say with confidence that there aren't many good options for Mexican food in Bend. It's mostly Blah but Hablo is SOOOO good! Had the Al Pastor, fish, and carne asada tacos and all three were great. The Rock Fish was my favorite. I really used to like Hablo Tacos and have been dozens of times. I was so disappointed after my visit tonight. It's a Sunday and I walked in at 7:30PM which, I get it, is close to closing. But 30 minutes isn't exactly cutting it SUPER close for a fast casual spot. The teenager who took my order looked straight up miserable and didn't even greet me when I walked up. A different kid was sweeping the floor and I watched him put the broom down, go behind the counter, use his bare hand to plop a handful of chips in a basket, and then walk it over to my table. The same girl who took our order then proceeded to sweep the outdoor patio while people were still eating, kicking up dust and dirt everywhere. Tacos were flavorless and the chips were stale. Not a good experience and probably will never return. read more

Hablo tacos has some pretty great food, which is the reason they even get one star. However, they undoubtedly have the worst service in the entirety if Bend, if not any city I've lived in. I don't say that lightly. I've gone 3 times in an attempt to see if it was just a busy time, or off day. They consistently have horrific service. They workers are friendly and seem like great people, so not sure if it is them, or the system they are forced to work with, but I've never had tacos in under an hour. For a fast/casual restaurant, waiting an hour for tacos in my opinion gets you 1 star. The most recent visit, we waited 40 minutes for a few tacos, I went to check on them and we had another 20 to go. This was after waiting quite some time in line. We decided to cancel the taco order and leave. Upon canceling, they refunded me the wrong amount (which I didn't notice until I left), so I also lost money to them. The kitchen staff seemed to be working their butts off, so I suspect it's something about the system that is off, but they need to fix it if they want to have repeat customers. Even a simple 'the wait for tacos is 1 hour right now, are you ok with that?' would have fixed the situation. As is, hopefully they can get their act together. Stay away for now is my advice. read more

I am really not a fan of tacos and met a friend there for lunch. Hers looked really good (I wasn't eating that day) went back for dinner a few days later. SO good. This place used to be so good. The last 3 times I have not been impressed with anything and can't say I'll be back. Last visit ordered 2 tinga tacos...as soon as I picked up the first taco all the filling fell out of the bottom of the extremely soggy tortilla that was soaking in so much liquid. I didn't even get to bite into it before it was all back in the basket. If I wanted a burrito bowl, I would've ordered a burrito bowl. The food was good but not fantastic. When paying, I deliberately did not leave a tip on the card, because I wanted to leave a cash tip on the table. When checking my receipt, there was a 20% tip added to the total. There was also a 3% charge for "Health and Wellness. The tip and charge were added without my consent. The 20% was figured on the charge being added to the total which is not supposed to happen. And they want customers to bus their own tables. Beware. read more

I was so disappointed in this place. I went there for lunch today because I was close by and had heard such good things about it. The food was great. The decor was awesome and reminded me of a hole in the wall taco joint you might find deep in the heart of Michoacán. The demerits spring from the lackadaisical service. I placed my order and was asked for my name and phone number and given a turn around time of about 15 minutes. Okay. I thought I could squeeze it in before getting back to work. I went out to the patio expecting a text message when my food was up as the cashier said would happen. I waited about 15 minutes out there so I went inside and saw some to go boxes sitting under the food warmer. Just sitting there... For minutes and minutes. No text message comes. I wait another 5 min and then head up to the counter to explain Id been waiting and now I was getting pressure to get out of there. I was told they were making my order right then. So I waited by the counter top in the inside area. A few more orders go out to the sit down patrons. Finally, the food runner looks at me and asks if I'm waiting for food. "Yep" I give her my name and then she hands me the to go order that had been sitting there for at least 10 minutes. I won't be back when I need to get somewhere. Mind you, this is 1pm on a Thursday. Workers need to get their food and back to their jobs timely and can't depend on the miscommunication between cashier and food runner... Come on. I had to reshuffle my entire afternoon because of this little set back. Good food though. read more

Mediocre expensive non authentic Mexican food. My husband and I came for lunch and ordered a variety of things to try. I got the barbacoa bowl-not a lot of food for $14 and most of my meat was chunks of fat. Maybe that's your jam, but not mine. My husband ordered a variety of tacos. The carnitas, pastor and chicken tinga taco all were ok, but nothing special. Probably won't be back, left feeling slightly hungry and disappointed.
