    BURRITO DINNER & TACO DINNER(3)

Food and service were fantastic. Will definitely be coming again! Steak tacos/burrito were excellent.

Don't enter the front because the front door is in the back

This was the new restaurant of the week and it seems fairly new with a now open sign in the front. Don't use the front door and go around back to get in. The place is a repurposed because it has a huge parking lot with halls to rent and a large Mexican restaurant. There is tables, booths and a huge bar. The menu is huge and I was brought chips and salsa while looking it over. I skipped my normally ordered margarita after 2 of the only 3 reviews said the margaritas were not very good etc. The chips were seasoned nicely, fresh and crispy with a nice ground corn flavor. The salsa was weird because it was a green creamy sauce with some heat that I liked. I ordered the taco dinner with rice and beans. Since I was the only person in the restaurant my service was good and my food came quick but my server didn't seem to have a real grasp on the English language because after she took my order the cook came to my table and said that they didn't have carnitas or shrimp at the moment, I ordered the steak, Al pastor and chorizo tacos I tell the cook and he says we got that. My taco plate looked good with Mexican style tacos and you can get Americanized also. The rice didn't taste like much but I'm good to mix in the beans and salsa. The beans were average with some cheese sprinkled in. I tasted all the meats before I dug in. The Al pastor was tender with a sweet flavor with fat in it. The steak was ok but it had gristle in it. The chorizo had a big overpowering vinegar flavor instead of the usual hint of vinegar and the least liked meat on my plate because it was too sharp. Overall I found this Mexican taco dinner to be average at best when there are better choices around town and I'm not it was bad but I have been to most of the Mexican restaurants in town and I feel there are better options.

Came tonight for dinner. The service was amazing. The owner Luis told us about their famous dishes and it was delicious. We dined in for about 3 hours, had wonderful drinks that were strong and made perfectly. The bill was reasonable for a family of 5 for food and 16 alcoholic beverages. Definitely coming back!

    margarita

Super friendly staff, fanciest house margarita I've ever had especially considering it was happy hour, parrillada de Mexico was fresh and flavorful with all meat perfectly cooked! Will go back for sure. Wishing this new Greendale restaurant good luck!

Great food. Coming from California that was one of the best Mexican meals I've had in a long, long time.

Tortillas were crispy and fried to perfection. The consommé was delicious, had me drinking it straight out the cup and was well seasoned, hot, and was in its own something to right about. The red and green salsas were also good. Red having a bit of kick, green was flavorful. I will say that I wish one of them had more heat to it but the acidity and flavors were great. The beef itself was so flavorful and tender, well seasoned, not to mention had the perfect amount in each item. Also, Onions and peppers on the side were cooked great and had me going back for more each time. Also, get the horchata, it was spectacular. This place is small but decorated to really feel like the owners, workers, really care and take pride in the establishment. It had a great ambiance that was full of people on a rainy lunch hour, and I can see why. As a person who works in the industry as a cook, the kitchen, which you can see when you order is neat, clean, and truly has the right feel of 'they know what they're doing and they're doing it well'. 5 stars, will be talking about this meal for a long time and spreading the recommendation to as many people as I can.

I ordered the La Bandera and it was overly salty. Now, I don't know if this is the norm for this dish, or if the chef that night was heavy handed. The first bite seemed ok, but the more I ate, the saltier it became, it seemed. Hubs had the short rib sandwich and was not impressed. We also had the queso dip, which I liked very much, and a pitcher of margaritas, which we both enjoyed. I would try this place again, because you never know if someone is having an off night and deserves a second chance. I'd also like to come here during the day (the Dia part) to try that menu as well. 88/2025

The dining room was colorful collection of pictures, garlands and banners which added to the cheery atmosphere. I had the fiesta burrito with chorizo. As stated, it comes smothered with their house made sauces, one green, maybe cilantro or avocado, the either a red sauce. Not listed in the description was also corn, carrot and peas. Don't be surprised when you cut into it and you see that. On the side was a coleslaw that brought some nice heat and brightness to the plate as well. Maybe the biggest surprise of the entire meal was the house coffee they served up. Today I believe it was their sauvecito. While I was surprised that they would serve such a strongly flavored house coffee, it packed a nice cocoa flavor that rounded out the meal nicely.

I was saddened that the beans and rice had zero flavor and my stuffed poblanos were more cheese than anything. And I like cheese, but it was just too much for that dish. Overall, I had to put hot sauce on everything just to finish it. We had great service immediately after being seated, but after receiving our food we were not checked on again until flagging the waitress for our bill. No refills on drinks, no "how's the food". The restaurant wasn't even busy, with only two other tables of guests besides ours. The most offensive thing of all was a line item on the bill for non-cash fee. This was not disclosed of time, and legally in Wisconsin an added credit card charge needs to be posted at the entrance and point of sale, and not to exceed 3% of the bill. Our non-cash fee was nearly 4% of the total bill after taxes. That's not cool at all. I won't be coming back, and wouldn't recommend dining here to my friends. Maybe their food truck has better offerings? I've always heard good reviews about Romero's so this was such a letdown.
