    Oyster shooter
    Jess H.

I mostly went here to try their Yappy Hour, $2 oysters and it did not disappoint! It was a little confusing at first because the entrance to the restaurant is the same entrance as crafty cow but once you get inside you can let the host know that you're there for outlaw oyster and they will lead you to a table. The interior was very cozy and cute. They have a "larger" seating area next to a smaller nook-like room by the bar. The bar area, had shelves of tin fish, wine, cookbooks, and sauces that you could buy. I only got their oyster shooter and the oysters. I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't a fan of the oyster shooter but mostly because I'm not the biggest fan of bloody Mary's. The combo was very interesting to say the least. The oyster that came with the shooter was pretty big but a little grainy. The yappy hour oysters were perfect and fresh. They came with three different sauces and lemons (I think a pickled onion, a green sauce, and a red one.) Just as fast as it came out, they were gone! The food, ambiance, and service was great. Definitely will come again!

Such a cute and cozy place with a hip feel to it. A mix of bougie east coast noshes meets a Texan dessert dweller. Stated off with a tasty strawberry negroni to wet the pallet. I learned that they infuse their campari with strawberries which ends up making the, usually bitter campari, a bit smoother and slightly sweeter. The pimento dip was delicious! Tip: ask for more crackers if you run out and some kelp hot pepper crisp to give the dip a bit of a kick. I tried one of their tin fishes and opted with a vegan and gnocchi mushroom crab option. It came with a full platter of mini pickles, cheese slices, mini crispy toasts, and, a lemon crema, and crispy chili oil. They have a lot of different tinned seafood to buy, and I liked that they were utilizing those same ones you can buy off their shelves as an option to have in the restaurant so you can taste essentially before you buy. Bartender was friendly and attentive. Don't forget to grab a (Free!) candy cigarette before you leave!

Yappy Hour ALL day Wednesdays. We got oysters and the hot smoked salmon dip and some dranks. Wine was $2 off pours! Such a cute spot for drinks and apps and oysters. Our server was super nice and attentive too. Cute, dark and cozy inside. Would be a great first date spot if you both like oysters!

Checked out this spot and grabbed a burger to go. The OK Burger comes with waffle fries and it is full of flavor. The restaurant is adjacent to the Crafty Cow, same owner. It gives a more personal feel for the dining experience. Plenty of tables and great use of space. There is also a bar on that side. The service was great. Finn was knowledgeable and very friendly.

What a cute, eclectic new spot on north avenue. We ordered half a dozen oysters and enjoyed all of them, they were so fresh! My husband got the burger with lobster and it was SO good and unique, I got the lobster rolls and I highly recommend them. Definitely try to visit during their yappy hour, as they have really great deals twice a day. Not only was the food great, the service from Raih was AMAZING! she was so friendly and made the whole experience better, she even read my husband like a book and made him a manhattan LOL!

A great date place. A small quiet place with 3 tables and a small bar area and small menu. But the food is very good. We ordered the Smoked Whitefish Dip that is served with crackers, shrimp cocktail and the Smoked Fish Trio Platter. Also had the mini'tini, which is a small version of their Outlaw Dirty Martini. The food is wonderful and has great flavor. Finn, our server was absolutely the best server/bartender. Outlaw Oyster will be on the list for date night dining.

    Outlaw beer and daily spritz.

This location is inside Crafty Cow. The smell when you walked in to the spot for Outlaw smelled kind of like stale beer. The table we sat at was very sticky (I know that can happen with certain types of finishing on tables so not docking them for that). We were greeted with a complimentary tasting of their house wine which was really tasty. We ordered the daily spritz and the outlaw beer, both were good. For food, we ordered all four of the daily oysters, the octopus aguachile, and the octopus hotdog sandwich. Oysters and aguachile were both fantastic; however, the chips with the aguachile were so over salted we found ourselves brushing off salt before dipping. The octopus hotdog was pretty disappointing. The octopus was pretty over cooked and had the consistency of jerky. We only had a few bites and then ate the toppings and roll. It was pretty disappointing for the price of the sandwich ($24) and the place specializing in seafood. The sandwich was also topped with roe. The roe was fishier than it should have been and pretty off putting. All in all, we haven't had a lot of good experiences at Crafty Cow and if we had known they were the same group, we probably wouldn't have gone in the first place.

Great new spot, get here early! The oyster's offered are unique, fresh, and the staff will recommend the best oysters (who are we kidding they're all good!). An oyster happy hour is all you need. Loved the smoked salmon plate, mini martinis, and spritz options. The lobster roll sliders were good but not $35 good. I was a bit disappointed in the amount of lobster presented. The hand cut chips were decent. Overall Outlaw Oyster is a vibe for happy hour oyster deals and you have to try the smoked salmon plate. I will definitely be back when the weather is warmer.

The food was brought out quickly and was incredible! We sat in the nook by the bar and I loved this table so much! By all the cute decorations!

I was so excited to try this place! I love that it is a smaller, more intimate spot. The food was amazing and the staff were super friendly. We had oysters that were really fresh, a tin fish app, and the Cajun salmon on special for happy hour. All the food was exactly what we wanted. Since we came during happy hour, we were also able to try the, "tiny tinis" which were adorable and delicious. We will definitely be visiting again!

Came on a Monday night with a friend. Food: Really like the menu. Lots of diversity to choose from, and the prices are reasonable. We started with a couple of specialty cocktails. I had the Sazerac, and my friend had the OG Old Fashioned. Both were well made, and there was plenty of alcohol in each. For an appetizer, we got the Frogs on the Mound, which, as you can imagine, is 1/2 lb of frog legs on haystack onion rings. I haven't had frog legs in a while, and I thought these were very good. The breading was light, well seasoned, and not overcooked. The haystack onion rings were just okay. They could have been hotter and maybe seasoned (or just salted) a bit more. For our entrees, I got the Blackened Catfish, and he got the Grouper Tacos. Both of these meals were also very good. The blackened fish was the best part of my meal. It was excellently seasoned, cooked to the right temperature, and moist and flaky. Delicious! The collard greens were good, but would have been better with just a bit more pork. More pork is always better. The rice and beans were good too, but the temperature was less than hot. My friend enjoyed his Grouper Tacos, and the bite he shared with me was very good, except for the green peppers. I much prefer orange or yellow peppers, but I realize that's a personal taste issue. The tacos tasted fresh, the fish was tender, and the portions were good. Service: The place was about a quarter full. Even though we weren't in a hurry, the service got off to a bit of a slow start. After getting waters and menus, it took a while for our server to get back to us. I started to worry that this might be an issue for the rest of the evening, so I made a point of getting their attention. After that, things went smoothly. After ordering appetizers and entrees, the food came out in a timely fashion. All the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. Thanks, Sarah 1 and Sarah 2 :) Atmosphere: Besides the separate bar area, the dining room is a big open space with lots of four-top tables spread around. Around the walls there are posters, art pieces, and plenty of Mardi Gras beads. I wasn't sure at the time, but there was something a bit cramped about the interior. After looking at the pictures, I think it might have to do with the low, tiled ceiling. (I think this is the first time I have ever mentioned something about a tiled ceiling.) On this night, it was quiet and easy to have a comfortable conversation. Glad that we finally stopped in for a meal. With the exception of the initial service delay and some small issues with a couple of food items, it was a very good meal. Would definitely want to stop back again to try other parts of the menu.
